Hacking Market - Click Android Development

Hi devs
First of all I want to thank you for your wonderful work to root this device.
Now that we have root, can we hack the market in some way, in order to "convince it" that we're using a HVGA device?
Me and other guys of Android italian community have tried to modify fingerprint in build.prop, but it not seems to be the right way.
Any other idea?
Maybe we have to modify /sys/devices/platform/msm_panel.o/graphics/fb0/modes ? It's the only reference i've found about resolution.
Thank you very much, and sorry for my bad english

Try the App "Market Enabler"
https://market.android.com/details?id=ch.racic.android.marketenabler&feature=search_result

Friend, there are tons of patches, that do exactly what you say - convince the Market that the phone has larger resolution. Please, do not invent a byoicle

So WTF! Was it not being right signed the issue?!?! Damn all these half ass threads with no information! If you start a thread with a question and the someone offers a solution, you should try that solution and report back as to whether it works or not!! Threads like these are why I've spent 3 hours today searching for an answer or help and haven't found anything but a waste of time on reading threads like these!! You suck!

[APP] GSIII S-Voice

*This is not my idea, I'm just sharing it. Head on over to the original thread where I saw this for some more information/support!
Some of you guys may have already seen this one but here it is for those who haven't.
Basically this is the .apk for Samsung's S-Voice taken form the leaked rom of the up-and-coming Galaxy SIII. S-Voice is supposed to be samsung's answer to Siri - but some people have reported that in reality it is just a skinned Vlingo with a couple of extra features!.
To install it:
move it to /system/app (Either by using Root explorer/ES file explorer or adb push voicetalk /system/app)
Change permissions to rw r-- r-- using Root explorer/ES file explorer
Go to build.prop and chnage ro.product.model & ro.product.device to GT-19300
Reboot
Go to /system/app and click on the voicetalk.apk and install like a normal sideload app
Note:
This is for ICS only and I have only tested it on Lord Clockans Ice Cold Sandwich 7.5 Test 9.
You need a data connection for it to work

Good for you!Thanks for sharing.
only ICS?
im trying now on GB. i hope it will work...
EDIT:
i get error "There is a problem parsing the package." when opening the APK. happen also with other downloads.
because of GB or another problem?

I had that problem when I first tried it you can try the other download link in the original thread or download it from your computer then put it on your phone. It's just a problem with the download websites not playing well with phones

Seemingly it'll only work on ICS. Hence the parse error.
EDIT: Trying it on SenseMOD FlashONE v1.3.1. Although it has installed and went through the tutorial, it now just FC's as soon as i try to open it. I'll see if it's any better after a reboot.
EDIT2: No luck. Still FC's immediately after starting.
It's a problem with the lcd density I think because it doesn't work at 240 it works better at 190 but still had force closes it works flawlessly at 160 though and I would love to keep it there if it weren't for the phone APK bug on ice cold
So piece of advice lower your lcd density but this may be problematic on sense roms of course

Here's me running it at 160dpi. The application still has a lot of room of improvement its not anywhere near as good as siri - I haven't tried siri myself! - and it really struggled to pick up my thick Scottish accent. I this could be a problem of the DHD because my brothers evo 3d and my galaxy tab do a much better job at understanding me
First a tried asking it the weather for London and after only 2 tries it got it right!
Then I tried setting an alarm up for 6am it could only get pm instead and after many tries I thought I'd just stick with pm and see what happens, you as you can see it understands what I meant but obviously I wasn't surprised when it couldn't figure out how to actually put an alarm on
Anyway I won't run the whole surprise for you and I'll let you check it out yourself!
Ps when I figure out how to add screen shots I'll update this post

Another quick look through the instructions shows that you need to chnage your build.prop to appear as thou you have a GSIII. Although this is easy enough some newer users may find it quite confusing. I thought its probably best just to link to the original thread because there will be a better support over there.
Check out the original thread here.
I keep getting a Network Error, even with wifi or mobile network on, any suggestions
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and am Using Lord Clockan's 7.5 Test 9

Have you tried the suggestion above yours/the updated op. Anyway your better off checking out a newer thread in the Themes and Apps section because the OP of that thread has put everything into one handy update.zip

Hi All.
I have been looking over XDA for some time to try and find an answer.
I have also Googled, and it seems it is not possible
I am developing a ROM which i started to create using Droid Kitchen, and watching Tutorials etc.
I would like to run this on the AVD but cannot work out how to test it.
Can someone offer assistance?
I would also like to know if there is a device config for the S5830i that i could import?
Thank you for your time to read this post

Just Java means
Java Programming Language
Or in just a word
Java
printf("random signature because I have got nothing else in my mind right now");
Yes Java is the main Language for apps.

Also found on xda-university. But yes, you are going to need to get thirsty to read. Then learn how to use that knowledge to make something. If you need help there are plenty of android development mailing lists and forums out there, including the ones here on xda.
The guides by Adam are pretty good! I also recommend them.
There is also MIT OpenCourseWare and tons of other things you'll find if you google around enough.

It depends on the complexity of either. You can make them as simple or as difficult as you wish.
Thats cool if everybody make own apps.. And share..
But learning java language for noob like me it take a year
Sorry for bad english

I went out and got several books on JAVA and Android development to get myself started. I finally decided that if I worry about how long it will take to learn, I will never even start.

Not at all.
Having made a few apps myself, I can say this for sure : all you need is maybe a week or two. Android app development needs java and XML. The XML part is pretty easy and can be learnt on the go. The java part, well if you know data types, functions syntaxes and commands syntax, it's sufficient to make a basic app
