Replacement housing on Ebay - HD2 Accessories

Was looking to buy a new outer housing for the phone as I dropped it and there are grooves/pits in the soft rubber part of the housing. This one on ebay says it oem, but the camera does not extent as far as out on the original case, and there are no metal edges around the camera bezel (these may actually be better for the device). Was wondering if anyone can confirm if this is indeed oem, maybe htc changed the housing in later models?
Link here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-HTC-HD...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item45f16d3a99

thank you...

It looks like the real thing. not sure about the camera bit though. Also, the mini picture in the first image is definitely not the hd2. Might be worth asking the seller.

hello n4v1n,
same housing as original, when you will take off your outer housing, you will see that camera's extention with metal edge doesn't come with it (it's part of the camera's module, not housing)

agree with kengel77.. the camera module is by itself, therefore it will be on your board..

I can confirm that the camera part is part of the housing as I have taken it apart already. The board has just the lens attached to it, nothing else.

Would this work for the T9193 as well as the T8585?
I scuffed the corner of my housing (dropped it onto pavement in the leather sleeve, just happened to land on the exposed corner...) and removing the Telstra branding seems like a plus.
$20 is a pittance.
Also, how difficult/risky is the actual process of replacing the housing?

Ok I can confirm this is NOT an OEM housing as truesupplier.com has it for $98.00!!! too expensive imo. Also @spike15, removing the old housing is easy although you will most likely damage the original housing in the process as u have to pry it open with some sort of plastic edge and it's really tight. I have little grooves in the plastic above where the earpiece is now.

I don't care about the original housing -- it'll be going straight in the garbage.
Can anyone confirm the quality of these housings? Can anyone confirm that the T8585 housing is identical (at least in shape and size) to the T9193 housing?

Since its not oem and from china, MOST likely will be garbage, considering an oem version costs 5X more. just my 2cents./ Also the antenna leads for the wifi, gps etc. are not included, so you will have to take them off the original, they look like stickers and if they tear, you're screwed. I didnt mess with them but they look very fragile.

The T9193 is not the T-Mobile version, it's the Telstra version...

afaik ALL US versions are the t9193's.
the internationals (europe/asia/etc) are the t8585's.

No, because the T9193 is the Telstra version, and Telstra is an Australian telco.
Do I need to take a picture of my Telstra HD2 box which says "T9193" on it?

yes you have t9193, the housing will NOT fit, end of story.

Are you sure this won't fit?
Someone on page suggested the only reason difference in size might be standard of measure difference. Sounds very ridiculous.
Why are you saying it won't fit?

Can i remove things from a dummy phone?

I'm soon gonna buy an used Sony Ericsson Xperia, but the thing is that it's battery cover and front buttons are a little scratched. I was thinking of buying a full housing but soon changed my mind due to it's price(80€). And besides, i don't need a new Qwerty keyboard and camera cover. So i checked for a dummy phone, which has a price of 25€. I was thinking, is it possible to remove it's battery cover and front buttons and place them on a real Xperia X1?
Here is the link to the dummy phone: http://cnn.cn/shop/sonyericsson-xperia-dummy-phone-p-6107.html
why dont u call sony ericsson and tell them about ur battery cover? i did and got a new one few days ago

I know some people from UK and USA, but then again, the shipping will cost some money. And besides, It's not just about the battery cover, but about the front buttons too. That's is why i'm asking if Dummy phone parts are removeable. If they aren't, then i'll just buy a battery cover from Cnn, as you suggested.
So, do you maybe know if it's possible to disassemble a dummy phone?
Thanks for you answers
Just buy a battery cover from ebay or something.
shipping should not be much dude, i got SE to post my cover to my mother in the USA which the paid for, she only paid about $4.00 usd to post the package here (barbados) regular post...it took about a week
i dont know anything about dummy phones except that they do not make them 100% like the original
Nope, dummy phone parts are usually not removable... at least, not in the way you want them to be XD None of the ones where I work are, so I'd say it's a safe assumption that you'd be better off buying new parts.

Well, mobilefun sells both parts, just not bundled (battery cover £17.56). I suppose you're looking for a cheeper price and there I can't help you. I've shopped at mobilefun before and they work flawlessly even with orders abroad as in my case.

Well thanks for the help. The faceplate looks really awesome, but i think it's overpriced. At lease in my opinion.
You can see for the battery cover which is £17.56(about 18€?), while on the cnn.cn is only 10.99€(about 8€). It's a shame they don't sell the faceplate tho
Battery cover on the dummy phone is plastic. The battery cover is the same piece as the entire bottom housing.
On the back of the screen when the keyboard is open...those little rubber screw covers have fallen off on my xperia! Any idea where i can get some from can they be removed from a dummy phone ?
Thanks

MyTouch/Sapphire housing

Hey all! I just wanted to share what I found. Not to sure if anyone found this and or mentioned it here somewhere. I looked around and saw another post asking about it. But thats all I saw. I am not sure how easy it is to dis-assemble the device and or how well the housing varies with hardware. I changed my T-Mobile Wing into the HTC 4520 with housing replacement, yes they were the exact same hardware wise yet some components were off some how. I had changed more then a few others that wanted the HTC branded housing and same so idk. I'm going to order one of these soon so i will share with pics of my experience unless someone does it first. Here you all go.

Nice I was JUST looking for housings. Thanks for the heads up!
Just in case you guys aren't aware, 32A and 32B motherboards are different, so a HTC Magic housing will not fit a MyTouch, and vice versa.

ya i had a feeling about this. but i think im still gonna try and see what needs to be modded. you never know, htc might have made the molds the same so they dont lose on machining time. like i said in op my wing and the 4520 were off by just a lil but i still got it to work 100%. I only had to switch out the keyboards so i bet this will probably work. I will get it and try it out for mt3g users.

I'm speaking from personal experience. I bought a G2 case from ebay, and the case has some holes on the opposite side of where the MyTouch case has them. I ordered a second one and had to return it because despite asking the seller in advance if it indeed was for a MyTouch and not an HTC branded phone they didn't have the right one. I've seen recently that some have started popping out on ebay that state "will fit US models" or something to that effect, these should be safe. My advice is to ask before you buy if it will fit a T-Mobile MyTouch, and what happens if it doesn't fit after you order it.
yep i can confirm. the thickness is different. but i managed to match them i have a 32a front and back pannel (black). And 32b middle section (silver UK Vodafone stock). This works just fine. Otherwise your vibration motor will never work since it is to tight.

I double that, I just figuered that out the other day while I was trying to change the housing for my magic.
I was wondering if anyone has found a source for a housing replacement that will automatically fit the 32B? I am in search of one and can't seem to find one. I found some that say mytouch compatible but I think they will have the same issue as mentioned here about being different on the inside.
Thanks.

I bought one of the housings available from the website posted in the OP (and quoted above). The only part of my MT3G that was messed up and scratched was the front face plate, so I didn't bother trying to swap out the rest of the housing. The face plate fits perfectly and looks awesome. The chrome buttons and HTC logo instead of the T-Mobile logo give it a much nicer look. $17 to make my phone look nicer and brand new again is not a bad deal at all.
I'd actually be willing to bet that, with some minor modifications to the middle section of the housing, we could get this entire kit to fit our MT3G's. We'd need to drill a tiny hole for the mic (the one that shipped to me has the mic hole on the opposite side), and perhaps cut away at some of the plastic near the vibration motor to allow it to move freely, but it should work. I might try this if I get bored. I'll let you know if I have any success.
Thanks for posting the site.

It was okay, but just okay. It definitely looks like OEM product, even down to the fact that the HTC branding was tinged blue instead of being silver and the middle chassis part was cracked. I waited 3 weeks for it to arrive in this condition, and I'm still struggling to get a refund from him so I can try another seller. Don't waste your time with him.
I did notice one or two listings on ebay actually do say original not OEM, one in particular from the UK, going to give one of those a try.

here are 2 different ones from ebay. can you guys tell me if it will fit? I mean the pic does say "tmobile" and I am waiting from the sellers to hit back.

btw both are similar products but 2 different sellers.
none of those come with screws. and one of them states, I would need existing "screw holes" idk what that means, I believe these "screw holes" are already inside my pre existing housing (stock).
sorry but these guys are foreign sellers and have bad communication skills, most of there responses are half assed.

[Q] dummy phone housing?

I found a dummy phone is much cheaper than buying a new housing. So i was wondering would it be possible to take the housing off a dummy phone and put it on my phone?
In short - NO. Dummy phones are only designed to look the part on the outside. Inside, however, they are nothing like the real thing and are not filled with anything, some are solid to add weight only. I never seen a dummy phone that was suitable for housing replacement, no matter how much it replicated the real thing.
Housings are not so expensive at all; about 20 dollars,
Look at Ebay? http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=so..._nkwusc=sony+ericsson+xperia+x1+houing&_rdc=1
they are made of plastic. definitely not. Just go buy a replacement

Fascia means FACEPLATE, it's not a brand or means anything else, so not OEM vs Fascia comparison, rather an original product or a copy. The thing is, the original had multiple problems by cracking and falling apart all by itself, no misuse or abuse was needed, so it doesn't actually even matter which one you take. In all other cases OEM would be better.
so OEM it is not original but is better than a copy. Yeah I know about the cracks of the original ones but reading here i understood that this "fascia" are worse and I could spend the money for nothing in the end because it wouldn't fit.
If you end up buying a new housing on eBay, expect lower quality.
I ordered a body, it came with everything except for the back of the LCD (the part that has the slider that connects both halves together). The battery cover was aluminum (but lighter, less reflective paint). The plastic was quite light, and on the keyboard, where the seam is for the silver sides and the center section, the join is visible, not as nice as the original. However, the fascia was aluminum (or some other metal) - probably the best quality thing of it all, although the camera and light sensor holes seemed frosted.
I never got to using this body, but I'll keep it as a spare in case something disastrous happens.
tl;dr: Expect lower quality from eBay, will do the trick, may have missing parts.

Fake Genuine Samsung Flip Cover

I bought this flip cover advertised as genuine on Ebay and when it arrived I realized there is no NFC chip in it (mentioned in the listing, but I didn't see it). Additionally the colour is more black that grey, so it doesn't really match my phone + the texture of the back panel is different than the original panel of the phone. This makes me think it might be a fake copy.
But then I called Samsung Technical Support and one very cocky guy told me Samsung doesn't manufacture any covers for its phones and what they sell on their website is from 3rd party - WTF???
So is there a Genuine cover? And is there a genuine one without a NFC chip in the back?
How can I tell if it's fake?

Wow, they really went out if their way to sell this as the original flip cover. You have to be really careful when buying stuff like this. Watch out for words like Genuine, OEM, and Original.
To my knowledge, Samsung includes the NFC chip in all flip covers. Why would they offer one without? That really makes no sense. Why leave out something that costs so little only to disable one of the included features out of the box?
When the price is too good to be true that should throw up a caution flag.
Just curious, does the inside of the cover have the notch for the home button? All knockoffs I've seen do not. Just wondering how the actual product differs from the pics shown. The pics they've listed appear to be of the real flip cover. I guess they figured that most people wouldn't know the difference.

I'm assuming you're UK based from the ebay link? I bought the grey flip case from a UK seller (link below) and can confirm the NFC chips are in these ones. It was delivered within 2 days. I presume you can probably find one a bit cheaper but anyone selling the non-NFC versions should really be making sure everyone is aware of this too and as 'carhigh' mentioned the ebay page you linked to does have this stated right at the top. I'm presuming the product code of the non-NFC ones will also be different.

Now that you mentioned, no there isn't a notch for the home button - another clue this isn't a genuine product. So far I've found these differences:
No notch for the home button:
Protective film at the back doesn't have the 3 squares with some instructions as in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=xvBERAUb-M0#t=33s Also the color of the whole case is more black than dark grey.
No NFC contacts. No serial number on the inside of the back cover as in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=4cyXej7zxo0#t=41s Different mold design as well.
The small phone image on the lower left side of the packaging is not full colour, but very dark. You can't see any details such as the time on its screen:
Also there wasn't any protective white piece inside the flip cover as in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=xvBERAUb-M0#t=28s
How these guys have 99.9% positive feedback is beyond me. I buy from ebay a lot and have never left negative feedback. I believe most issues can be resolved, but the one thing I can't stand is a blatant lie. That's what they're doing here. The product shown is not the product they're selling.

Replacement Housing and Tutorial

So, like many, while having one of my slim cases on that do not cover the top or bottom portions of the phone, I dropped the phone on concrete. My phone was in a loose jacket pocket, and yeah you can figure out the rest, lol. I ended up scratching the top corner by the antenna, and the silver finish became white.
I did some research and found replacement parts and a youtube tutuorial that does a great job on explaining how to easily fix the housing yourself. You can order from tvcmall or ebay (i ordered from tvc due to quicker shipping, and it arrived perfectly on time with full bubble wrap and packaged correctly in pristine condition). I hope this helps anyone with similar situations like mine .

Have you used that housing? Says it's for the international version. I bought one that is specifically for our version and it worked perfectly. I think all the housing for different carriers/international are different.

My bad dude! I keep forgetting that the accessories thread is for every version of the Note 2. Hmm I think every version is different. Try to find one for AT&T model. I actually ordered a tool kit off Ebay so I could separate the housing/bezel from the screen. It only took 15 min, super easy to do.
