lol, if it doesnt have anything special in it why the heck is it 250mb?
I made my own sense rom and that was 108mb getting jealous?

I just finished flashed.
Build 21896, sense 2.5 2012. missing HTC Task Manager , people and internet tab. 45% ram usage on boot (I installed Duttys Task Manager). nothing special in my opinion.

no
is about task manager
that tab was removed because i don't like it
everybody who touched your phone will go there and look what pictures you have there so i hate it
you can fast type any person pressing dialer and typing first letter from name
so is useless and resource hungry

Love your ROM for being lite. A very nice surprise (I've forgot how nice is the bounce back effect at the end of a list; sad that Microsoft didn't use it for 6.5.x builds). Thank you!
It was funny to read the introduction. It's sad that some people didn't understood your game. I was hoping to see the funniest thread.
(The Opera Mini is in Romanian, or is because of my settings; when I've installed opera mini myself it was in English, even with the same settings. Nice lock-screen)
Cheers!
P.S. If you want to edit my post and delete some information don't hesitate and PM me.

Can you remove wm6 system installed programs?

Like mobile IE, PTT, Real Player...etc?
I don't use them and I'm sure they take up space I could use for something better.
Also does limewire have a mobile product or something like it?
Thx
FireBlade
basically anything cooked into the rom is not removable.some can be cleared from a hard reset, others can't be unless you flash a lighter rom
Just flash a new rom....
Or you could build your own rom.....
Thx for the replies

Search for a rom first, there are many rom cookers on this site that feel the same way you do about unnecessary programs. Look through all the roms and you will find one that suits you.
Well I dont know about ur first problem, but as for second, there is proggie named PocketG2 Pro its like limewire, also there is torrent client for wm phones( its a paid proggie) called winmobile torrent
here is link for info on pocketG2 Pro
http://tinyurl.com/5qgwvu
winmobile torrent is ok, I thought pocketg2 was shut down? I couldnt never find a cab nor when I did recall having it at 1 point that it never connected
PocketG2 Pro
PocketG2 Pro can be found here for anyone that wants it. i could not get it to run though.

Question before flashing my device...

Hello all, first off this is the absolute BEST PDA forum around. And Ive found just about all information I need. I JUST NOW successfully HardSPLed my device! W00T! Ive looked around and cant answer my last question though, I want to use a rom that is a WM6.1 bc I want threaded text, ive currently got wm6 on my T-Mo Wing (Herald) or whatever you guys like to call it lol. Do I need to do anything before flashing the WM6.1 Rom? Any suggestions on what Rom to use? I really like the idea of touch flo! Any help is appreciated!
Okay, Sir.
First off all you should know that I'm kinda new to the XDA scene as well but I've manage to flash my device right at the first attempt. What you have to do is following:
1. HardSPL your device
2. Check bootloader if process was successful
3. Get the RUU and put your *.nbh into the RUU folder (Image)
4. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps
That's it. Be sure to be ActiveSynced all the time!
Oh and for the ROM request: I can strongly suggest OpenTouch V7.7 Manilla2D - a pretty nice ROM imho.
If there are any questions left don't hesitate to ask
Cheers
i'll recommend the easier flash method, as long as you have a microSD card. you can download any rom image your wish to flash, and place it in the root directory of the sd card as HERAIMG.nbh (i beilieve. look it up, i haven't flashed in a while). just hold the camera button down as you turn on the device, and it'll load into bootloader mode. from there, just follow the instructions.
while opentouch and many other roms that already have many programs are nice, i always recommend the exact opposite. the best and fastest rom i have ever used is just2clean. it has tons of free memory left, and just the basics pre-installed. makes a great base to install just what you want, and easily be able to remove what you don't.
Awesome. Thank you both for the info! I think im gonna go with OpenTouch V7.7 Manilla2D. Ive seen youtube vids on it and it looks appealing.... Thanks again... Going to update as soon as i get off work =P. Will post if i have any problems. But maybe ill ask a last question, will OpenTouch V7.7 Manilla2D leave me much space left over after the flash?
Around 30MB afaik. If you need more space for apps etc. try the JustMe ROM with up to 70MB of free storage.
Cheers
Ok so i couldnt actually find the download link to 7.7, like i click on the 7.7 link in his sig, but couldnt actually fond the download. but i read clear thru the forum and found V7.3..... Successful install...Now I think im gonna try his windows vista beta. Thanks for the help!
Well, have fun at reflashing Here are the links to build V7.7

Xperia X1 The best setup?

Hello!
This is my first post in the forum.
I recently got a X1 prototype to play with, im all new to WM Phones. So i dont know what to do and not to do.
What i personally feel is that X1 is kinda slow, but from what I've read I understand that some people has customized their own stuff for the phone to make it faster than it is with original firmware (or what its called)
My question to you guys/girls is: What is the best setup for the phone to make it run smooth but, what ROM should i use, if someone could put up a simple guide with links so what i need to download, the best roms, best appz.
Note that i dont want a GUI that looks like win 3.11. I still want it to look good. Not neccecearly with just spb shell.
Anyone that reccomend putting WM 6.5 into X1?
Anyway, the best stuff so the phone will run at its best!
That would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Edit: A list of "what to do" would be good, stuff i need to do before doing anything to the phone, to make sure i wont brick it.
Welcome .
I see that you are looking for the perfect setup and the easiest way of doing it, just like me, when I first came here. The short answer is that there is no such thing .
It all comes down to personal preference when WinMo is concerned. I can tell that you have read a bit, so my advice is to continue reading and do a lot of experimenting to see what you might like. You might like a stripped ROM that is blazingly fast and has only the basic features. You might want a slower, but fully stocked phone with every app available.
I can bet that if someone from the forum picked up my X1 he wouldn't like it and vice versa.
Maybe you should start with the ROMs that are specifically made for speed and smoothness and see if you like them. Just read the descriptions.
Cheers .
Hello! Thank you for your reply.
I almost figured that i would get a reply like yours. As we say in sweden: Smaken är som baken, delad = One mans meat is anothers poison. Ofcourse its hard to find the perfect setup.
But according to my directives (Going fast, but still pretty neat) As you said. Its either the basics = going fast, or a fully stocked = slow phone.
Isn't it something in between? A setup that contains both the basic features, but also some neat GUI.
And if someone has got any experience from WM 6.5 on xperia X1, please tell if it worked good.
Are they any ROMs more popular than others, if i put it that way....There must be something that a slight majority likes.
Is it even possbile to do something with a prototype?

Your problem might also be hardware, rather software. Prototypes usually don't have the same "guts" as their commercial, mass produced siblings. Some have less RAM, or a slower processor, or less internal memory, etc.

Im with you there. Its not the first proto i have, so im aware that hardware may not be the same as retail. But still..firmware can do much, eventough ram is lesser than the retail (256) I have R1A at the moment.
I will post some device info. Just so you know whats inside the phone.
Rom-Version: 1.02.936.3
Rom-Date: 08/29/08
Radioversion: 1.06.25.29
Protocall version: 52.43.25.24U
CPU: QUALCOMM(R) 7200A
Clock: 528 MHZ
RAM-Size: 256 MB
Flashmemorysize: 512 MB
Database: 32 Bit
StorageSize: 281.58 MB
Bluetooth-Version: 2.0/2.0+EDR
Firmware: R1AA017
ah yes the R1A firmware. that's what i had on my X1i when i first got it. when i upgraded to the R3A....it was BEYOND the difference between night and day. it was like night vs standing on the sun.
to get the ball rolling, i would recommend getting the Sony Ericsson Update Suite from their website, and updating the phone through their automated system. it will bring you up to date on the R3A rom and it's painfully easy, so it will give you a taste of what's to come...

Try reading this thread first as this is the 1st thing that you need to do for flashing a new ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
Afterwards, try reading this thread as this is where you will know how or ways to flash a ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445662 ( I suggest that you use this method as, as you said you can not use SEUS.
I suggest that you try the following ROM's as they are, imho, the fastest and best, so far http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524043 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=512050 (Try the latest build).

I totally agree - I run the Valkyrie ROM and it's absolutely amazing! I will recommend flashing it any day. One of my co-workers has the same ROM, and he's also amazed.
One thing to notice: If you're from Sweden, you might want to stay clear of the Manila versions. For me (from Denmark) I can't run the Danish keyboard settings while running Manila, and that's a total deal-breaker. After all, you want to take advante of full QWERTY, right?
Manila is what you might know as Touch Flo from HTC phones. IMO you should avoid that, go with Valkyrie's Xperio ROM (without Manila) and use the SPB panel (free). Then you have a really strong setup!
But hey - that's just me

If you're still feeling your way around, install the official Sony Ericsson R3A ROM. No need to Hardspl, and you'll still have the same interface that you're used to.
I cant install R3A :S
It says "No image found" bootloader.
And the card is FAT32, and the file is named Kovsimg.nbh
And yes, its placed in the root of the Card.

First of all: If you want the original firmware, don't take it from XDA - take it from the SE official program.
Second: If you want to install a cooked ROM, first run HardSPL. This only works in some of my USB-ports, and only without inserting the memory card.
Once HardSPL is installed, you need the Kovsimg.nbh file...
Hope it helps

However as you own one and cant even spell XPERIA right, I recommend you stick with stock ROMS an stay away from anything too complicated lol

i know udk was cooking for xperia for a while and i see that he released 2.6 a few days ago in the diamond 2 section hopefully he gonna release one for our xperia

id really wish to see 2.6 on X1 via .cab file. I hate rom updates because i have to hard reset my device then and i dont want to again install and copy everything to device.

When is the X2 ROM expected??

Cant anyone get hold of the official ROM rite now..i want the OS badly..also, will the ROM have the 'time your panel' function once imported to X1...
PLz pzl: Im not looking for a cooked ROM, also, I asked in my last post but no1 answered, will the final OS of X2 have a start menu at the bottom???
I dont want it that way, i like the current one, black and white and top left...if it is going to be at the bottom, i dont mind a VERY VERY STABLE ROM (almost close to the original one) rite now...
where can i get such an X2 ROM rite now then...(only of the X2 ROM is going to have a start menu at the bottom)
Thanx a ton guys!
version 6.5.3 (aka build 28000) will have this bottom start menu. I wouldnt be surprise if there is no difference between these cooked roms and official x2 6.5, ofcourse both being 6.5
no..then can i have a build before 28000...but i want a real, clean and Un cooked ROM..where is my search bar???
im not sure why you do not want a cooked rom, there is no "stock" 6.5 at the moment. you can always try "pure" 6.5 cooked rom. its as close as the real 6.5

every rom is cooked. who cares if its done by sony ericsson or someone from here. do u think xda chefs are stupid? they know what they do and have probably more experience than anybody else in cooking. have u tried the original rom R1AA or R2AA? they had some bugs and were slow.
There will be no official X2 ROM for the X1....only ported over and cooked rom's by the chef's here....

WC

The only option is to wait for a shipped ROM of X2 and then we can hope Jerpelea can cook a stable build out of it. With my experience of X1, I am not sure if Sony would let that out before february. Correct me if I am wrong guys....
I really don't mind cooking, becasue I trust chefs in XDA
I really want a X2 ROM cooked for X1, just cut out some features not supported on X1, and it will be nice if it is stable and fast.
Could you tell me is there a ROM like this?

If you haven't noticed the few fortunate chef's that do have the X2 have been working non-stop since around Thanksgiving and earlier working on trying to port the X2 over. If you're so damn impatient buy the X2 and port it over yourself and you can be among the few who're working hard trying to make it work for the X1. And then you'll also have an X2 to play with!
Ok, first things first, i really dont underestimate or think the XDA chefs are stupid. That is for you, pansen222, secondly, its pure preference. if i want a clean, as-is ROM, its my choice. I wud not question anyone why they prefer cooked ROM. Its just that I have seen many threads of coooked ROMs having issues with the phone. im not the kinnda who will be flashing every day, i use my phone like a computer. we dont change our computer OS everyday do we????
just like that, I want to flash my phone purely for the sake of upgradig an OS....from 6.1 to 6.5...as simple as that.
For this, i want a stable, clean, as-is ROM...
Hope i have cleared everything.

For this, i want a stable, clean, as-is ROM...
Hope i have cleared everything.

Don't you think if there was a true ported X2 OS for our X1s it would be out and you would know about it just by looking at the threads? (Most likely would be sticked). Jerpleaa's ported X2 isn't 100% X2, but he's making a great effort trying to work with what he has.
I know I was rude with my first post, but you just sounded like an impatient little $**! the day before X-Mas.
I completely understand man...the kinnda noobs that are around(i know im one of them hehehe) But again, i prefer real,un-cooked ROMs as they are straight from the Sony factory (and i have some one to blame if something goes wrong heheheh...)
Wil keep an eye open for the X2 ROMs...BTW, where can i make the registry setting changes for the tilewave panel on my X1..Thanx a ton!

Can't complain to Sony if something doesn't work since the X2 was intended for the...X2, and not X1. And what registry changes are you talking about?

do you ever search for something yourself or just open threads that are mostly contained in already existing ones? and I still haven't understood what you mean with "real,un-cooked roms straight from Sony factory", that's stock roms dude, no need for xda-devs rom section for you then...
time zone for tilewave panel is here
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SonyEricsson\TilewavePanel\City\0\
