SHKvEris - For ALL Leaked Rooted 2.1 Eris & Legend builds - Droid Eris Themes and Apps

This theme 100% percent works been running for nearly 2 hours and 0 issues, its for the hero but was based on the 2.1 eris leak...so i was feeling a bit brave and gave it a shot...*follow the op's directions* and whamo new fully skinned eris 2.1 on ivans rom....as i am no yet able to post a link the theme is found in the hero section apps themes ect...
So if anyone wants to give it a whirl check it out and again follow the op's directions (must be rooted)

a link would have been fantastico!

I don't get it. Leaked and rooted are different.

Its for Root phones!

cool I'll give it a whirl!
edit: first time it just looked horrible (prob my fault) wiped flashed tried again and wont boot. Thank god for nandroid
Edit2: I can't follow directions trying again
edit3: followed directions and it again faild and caused the whole phone to implode. Probably my fault, but whatever to much effort for 2 am nandroid backup and maybe ill try tomorrow

This doesn't work

Thats because its for the hero?

works on Ivan's .5
This does work on the older odexed roms Ivan had built...doesn't work on newer builds...so if you have. 5 and want to try it go for it it works.

calling all devs, i need your help!

as most of you know im going to be building a new 1.5 rom based off of gumbo 1.5c. i want to give the phone as much of an aosp/nexus style as possible. the bad news is there is no white stock taskbar themes out there for 1.5.
SO... im asking one of our talented devs to create one or port one to work on a 1.5 based rom. i will of course give you full credits. PM me if you interested!
I know what you're going for, but the reason we haven't done it is when you try to change the clock text in the taskbar it will bootloop. And if there is a way to do it, it would be a pain and there really aren't that many people here that are still on 1.5... I hope someone helps you out though. I would try but I(along with a lot of other people) hate working on things that I personally will not use.

im back & forth between 1.5 & 2.1 but i have several members interested in running a new 1.5c rom. damn i was hoping i could get that white taskbar too.
just something to play with until 2.1 officially drops ya know! actually according to the 1.5 & 2.1 customization page that godzon made there is a white theme that works on 1.5 but it's only for damage based roms. i just need this ported to work on a gumbo based rom.

that's what it says but i think it was for a damage based 1.5 rom. i tired to flash it and it caused a boot loop. i think it needs to just be ported to work on a gumbo based 1.5c/ pancake rom.

well you should let godzson know about that then. so theres no chance of this being ported then?
well ****.... maybe ill take pancake 2.1 or gumbo 2.1 and work with that then, i like the aosp feel.

Didn't know it was labeled as such until you pointed it out...
If the framework on your version of 1.5 is odexed (has .odex files in the /system/framwork), it is no small task to pull off, as the whole entire framework would first need to be deoxeded, so that you could then edit the services.jar file.
It's feasible, but not realistic, if this is the case, given that it's 1.5.

[ROM] Question

Ok guys I bought a HTC Hero and it came with 1.5, I did the 2.1 RUU from Sprint, and recently used the unrevoked exploit succesfully, i have a nandroid backup, i've removed stock apps and now im looking for a nice rom, wich rom you guys recomend. I'd like a rom with a good performance and a pretty customizable interface also with OC option. Thanks in advance .V.

Thank you very much
I got a HTC hero 2 days ago myself. It also came with 1.5 so I rooted it using the root method for 1.5, created a nanodroid backup. Flashed a new radio (2.42.01.04.27) and am using the Fresh 2.1.2 rom by flipz..

FRESH rom is sweet, i put 2.0d on my girlfriends phone. its STABLE trust me. she will complain about the tiniest thing. but i haven't heard a peep out of her about that rom for at least a month. i'm sure she has NEVER rebooted it. if so you could count it on one hand. seriously they should change the name of the rom to "sprint official 2.1"
the downside is flipz got a EVO. so any forward development on that rom is going to be slim/none as far as i can tell.
damageless also is no longer deving the hero as far as i know.
this is why i recommend darchdroid. he is ACTIVELY deving this rom. everyday.

I'll take a look at that one too, thanks for your suggestions and your time guys.
Actually, I'm open to more suggestions 'bout you guys have experienced with any other rom.
i also used the AOSP 1.6 rom from here more specifically this one by gbhil. awesome rom. very very fast. like stupid fast and clean. very clean.
and yesterday i flashed Buufed 1.6 also very very sweet.
can't go wrong with any of the roms, they all have bugs. but some bother some people and some don't.
anything based of FRESH or DAMAGE CONTROL is good too if you like sense
If you want continuing support, Try either DarchDroid, or Regaw's mod, they seem to be the only two big ROM dev's with us now that the Evo is out.
Or Aloysius.

WHAT is going on with my captivate?

so i installed both the clearbar and bluedroid xml theme for metamorph and it just looks like crap
i've been trying to install every "revert to stock" theme for metamorph as well as any other notification bar theme just to get rid of it and nomatter what i install, the phone gets stuck in a loop trying to load the GUI
what is going on here and why can i not morph ANYTHING?
List everything you have done to your phone. Which Superuser do you have.
I would just Odin the thing, I don't have much patience for install this, uninstall that.

Also going to be a long time, there's one being worked as a cross between the vibrant and captivate and they are seriously bugged right now. What you should do right now is flash JH3 followed by SuperRooterExtreme and then just leave it at that until cyanogenmod or AOSP comes out, which is what I'm doing.

i had JH3 flashed but i hated that there was no home button feedback....i was also having a bit of lag throughout the rom so when the ext2 lagfixes came through i flashed back to stock and really dont think its a big enough difference to flash back....im not gonna flash until something significant comes out

[ROM] JI6 OTA deodexed with stock JI6 kernel and modem

Hi everyone,
Saw a request for this in vibrant general, and while I'm sure most devs and cooks will have long since already deodexed the OTA JI6 for their own uses, hopefully this will still be of use to somebody.
So, that said, this is the stock JI6 OTA rom, fully deodexed, with the stock JI6 kernel and modem, pre-rooted with busybox installed.
NOTE: this was made from the "T959UVJI6 ## NEW" ODIN firmware posted a while back.
Many thanks to all the wonderful devs here, and especially to Eugene373 and Anomalous for provinding the original JFD deodexed base that I used to learn how to compile my own flashable roms.
Warning, this will wipe your data, and this has only been tested via clockwork recovery.
Download: Removed, sorry, caused problems for some people
Cheers everyone, =)
Thanks this is just what I needed.
Me too! I would also like to learn how to do this myself in future. I dual boot ubuntu 10.04 and windows 7, so any tips in either os?

Hi,
Sorry for the issue.
I'm honestly not sure why its happening, it didn't happen on my phone when I tested everything before uploading, and the bootclasspath's used for deodexing were the same that anomalous used for the original JFD deodexed rom. That said, admittedly, I usually run a personalized version of either frankin-twiz/hybrid or bionix rom daily, was only uploading this since I had already deodexed JI6 for personal use (I always like to build new theme's/mods from unmodified/stock files) and saw a request in general.
Anyway, at this point, since sombionix moved to the OTA files too, I'm probably not going to look into it or really support this, sorry.

new to captivate, need help upgrading to 2.3

i just got this captivate and it's a new build 1108(07.12.2011)i guess. i have been reading for hours and hours on several forums, about how to root and update my phone from 2.2 to 2.3 and use the xda lagfix. my moto droid 1 is rooted and running ss/cm's latest 2.3.4 and it smokes the pants off of this samsung. i am finding several step by steps for 2.1 to 2.2 and so on, but nothing for 2.2 to 2.3 that actually works for me. wondering if my phone is too new. i dont nesc need to root, but really want 2.3 and or xda lagfix. or do i need to root??? can someone please help me? i would give you my moto droid 1 hacked and smokin fast for a succesful updating of this slow as can be captivate. i'll even pay for shipping etc. LOL!!!
Find the odin one click thread, do that, you'll be back to 2.1, then find a thread explaining how to root, then follow the directions on how to flash gb. Pretty easy if you look around a bit and read up. If my phone wasn't about to die I would find the right links for you, but it shouldn't be too hard, there are plenty of guides on here

Will these same instructions work for a rooted 2.2 Captivate? Is there any (easy) way to save my app settings? (I've spent a lot of time getting 3 stars on all the angry bird levels!)

I have been off the captivate for a while now, so there are much easier ways to get to gingerbread than when I was still on it. However, if you backup your apps with titanium backup, you should be able to do the following: once you install your new rom, run the "restore missing apps" function, and it should keep your progress in games without messing up your rom. The problems people run into us when they run the "restore all apps" process, which restores system apps and screws things up. If you only restore missing apps, you'll be fine
The edit is because I'm drunk right now. If you backup your apps on your current rooted setup with titanium backup, you should be able to just restore missing apps with titanium backup once you flash the new rom without any troubles and have your saved game data.

Read, read, read. And read some more.
You will need to upgrade your bootloaders, and upgrade your ROM/Radio/Kernel.
This all carries with it a fair bit of risk. I would suggest you understand how to recover from a "soft brick" before attempting to re-flash or upgrade anything.
Also: This is in the wrong section, and if I'm honest, this isn't much of a first post if you're new to XDA.
THANX everyone. esp. *toy028*
read till my eyes bled... and
1-superoneclick to root
2-odin 1.7 to flash latest speedmod kernel
3-after headaches got cm7 rom to flash and now i'm stuck with it as it puts it's own kernel(clockworkmod4+) on the phone and it will not let me flash anymore update.zips
dont understand the edify request it gives. cant find an edify option in the rom. afraid to reroot, reflash speedmod and try again because it(the new kernel) doesnt seem to be compatible or want to let me upgrade LOL. so i am trying to get cm7 to please me.
wish there was a simplystunning rom. tried andromeda3 and it wouldnt flash for me. cm7 is very lacking. got gapps but it's still VERY lacking. quadrant got slower on video but faster on cpu??? wierd. neocore got slower too. only went from 55.7 to 52.3 but still. only one keyboard on cm7. no super customization like i"m used to with ss. i really miss forcing my browser to pc mode for streaming southpark etc. debug option doesnt have a desktop selection bummed but gonna try and deal with it.
thanx again
Andromeda3 wouldn't flash because of the version of cwm you are on. Andromeda3 is 2.2 and requires an older version of cwm

When you figure it all out, use Apex rom. It's up to date and works great for someone who is green.
I'll second the call for Apex. I've tried several of the available Gingerbread ROMs, but always ended up going back to Apex. Installed the recent 9.2 update and won't be looking back.

Guys/Gals! be careful when recommending JF6 Odin1 Click, he stated his release number on his phone being 1108, and if I'm not mistaken, he will brick his device based on that build number. OP do a search for Odin 1 click and make sure you can use the JF6 version
thanx for the warning. i was actually aware of such a conundrum being possible and thought i would try it anyways. there seems to be a lot of mis-information or better yet only partial instruction from those who assume eveyone knows all of the things to do before the instructions they DO give. at any rate, one click worked for root. everything is groovy BUT i still cant use any other rom but MIUI's latest. which is sooooo lacking it makes me sick and i go back to cm7 everytime. oh well. at least i can get 2370 on quadrant with cm7 and 57.7 on neocore instead of 1300 and 23.5 respectively. my moto droid one does 1700 and 23.7 so i figured the captivate would smoke it. now it finally does. it matters to me when using google earth and maps etc. those apps suck up the cpu/gpu ram and anything else they can. so i guess i'm happy with cm7.
