Remove Vodafone branding? - Legend Android Development

Any way to remove the branding or do we have to wait for the SPL?
It's not much but anyway desturbing.

I would also like to know how to remove the vodafone branding.
i think theye are 2xapps and the bootscreen.

Yes seems like this.. Other than this it seems quite stock HTC.
Anyway would really like to have the stock HTC..

Put questions into general since there's no QnA yet, you can always get a cafe or skin to cover that stuff...

The branding can be removed when sb has done the rooting.

Just make a Goldcard and flash with an official HTC rom.. I did, and it works great! Goodbye Vodafone!

Hi, I followed this tutorial:
http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard
It didn't work at my first try, but when I used a Kingston 2gb, it worked.
I used a rom from this location:
http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Legend
edit:
You can keep the microsd card in your phone for this to work, you don't need a sd adapter..

Some help please - flashing x1 to Touch-IT

Hi,
I was really hoping to do this without having to ask for guidance!!
I have backed up my ROM via Kovskykitchen: all OK and nice clear tutorial! thx..
I have X1_HardSPL_V1 ready to run..
I have the Touch-IT Experience ROM..
I think I follow the process but have a question about HARDSPL : Once I have completed the process - will I be able to use the phone at that point - or will I have to flash a new ROM to use it? i.e. is HARDSPL just an unlock so to speak or does it wipe the phone?- been reading this very helpful thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446070 by Phenx - ta..
Flashing the new rom:
all the detailed tutorials seem to be the MicroSD method.. I can't find a decent X1 walkthrough using activesync...
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm obviously searching wrong..
Thanks!!
(One other question: will flashing affect my sim contacts? Thanks)
I'll try and answer ur questions to the best of my ability but i can't say i know much about what hardspl is besides the ultimate tool
After you hardspl u will be able to use ur phone as normal. I believe it still has the same stock rom on it but again i'm not sure but i do know u will be able to use it.
There is a way to use activesync and its fairly simple. Establish a connection through activesync and then run the rom update utility and follow the instructions. This is the only method i've ever used and i've been flashing my phone since the wizard.
Hope this helps
Thanks, thats given me a little more confidence
What flash util would you recommend? or do you mean the one with the HARDSPL download?
I would suggest backing up your contacts to your sim card, pull your memory card and then flash AFTER you hrdspl the phone. The hrdspl enabled you to be able to flash the phone to another rom, it will not interfere with the operation of the phone afterwards.

Most ROM's are packed together with the flash prog. I do recommend the microSD method, as it's less prone to murphy's law.
always use the sd way, it far by the safest.
your sim contact will be left on the sim the other contacts yo want to backup.
hardspl is a unlock only utility, wont affect your phone, rom.
ive done it throught the sd way ...and its really simple and no problems, i had a few problems with hardspl ...but got that sorted quick enough.
yeah so i'd recommend the sd way.
Well don't have a microSD so did it via activesync...
HARDSPL - was painless - click - click, go make coffee - done!
I mistook the ROM update in the Touch zip for another HARDSPL.. It was infact (obviously) the update util needed.. Flashed to Touch-it .21 - As easy as HARDSPL....
I have noticed 1 bug but its a tiny thing: the ok or x in the top right doesnt show when in any menu... Hard reset didnt fix it.. no problem though as the OK or x is there just not lit up..
Can anyone confirm that to change to another ROM, I would just replace the RUU file in the update util folder?
Thanks for everyones help!

yes to the second, just replace the RUU.
and I'd recommend trying wktask http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
instead of the taskmanager. (disable the task manager through settings) then you can make the X pretty and useful!
well thats the icing on the cake!! cheers - worked a treat.. thanks all

I thought it'd make a nice app for me, but it doesn't work well. Messes up my entire top bar.

flashed my phone like 10 times now and NEVER used the SD version.
so from my point of view ... usw the USB version. saves loads of time.
plugin USB
sync if not allready done
start update and click a few times
done
download file on x1, save to sdcard,,,,, rename flash, much easier doesnt require windows pc can be done anywhere and less chance of failure
must have flashed different devices well over 100 times
probably a stupid question, but right now i have the Touch-IT 2.1 rom on my phone, if i want to Flash to another ROM, i don't need to flash to HardSPL again do i then flash to another rom?
EDIT: don't worry found the answer.

Decided to give it another chance. Your 52-280 helps, but it still looks kind of crappy with a gray bar on top, no other settings changed.

Do i loose my guarantee after Flash?

i flashed my x1 with some rom, and now i flashed it back to the basic rom but i allready have the hard spl mod (debranded x1)
and my keyboard now sucks, i got the bill / and support card
so can i go to the shop where i bought it and get back a new one or repaired one?
do i have guarantee even if i have flashed my x1 ?
thanks !
now u still gotta flash stock spl... just check the sticky threads...
also had tht keyboard prob... hope its not gonna happen again..
Uhm no it wouldnt work right now but if you look at the stickyed threads you will see a way to flash back your normal hardspl and your normal rom this way it will look like just an ordinary branded xperia
i have bought the x1 from a shop in germany
Without any brandings (vodafone,t-mobile,o2)
where i can find the stock rom for it ?
can somebody find a link for this one ?
Not very hard to find...
Just look here...

yeah and which of these ? generic de or what ?
and this ones are all exe files how can i flash them ? cuz i got hard spl on my device.
I wouldn't worry about flashing the HardSPL. I sent my phone back to Sony after flashing and didn't hear a thing. They sent it back reflashed with an official HardSPL and Firmware. There's not much chance of them finding out, and even if they did you could just claim innocence and say you have no idea what they are talking about.
If it's a problem with something that they would need to test with the phone turned on and working however, I would highly suggest you flash the original rom (don't worry about the spl).
Just my advice

ah man!!
extract it (rar, zip whatever) rename to kovsimg.nbh- hard spl
or read the sticky and like Lex said flash stock spl back
and if you wish you can take Zimbabve language, up to you to download one you understand
okay thanks very much, i dont know much about it.. but you helped me.. thanks for the advice.. !
one of my X1 cracked jz beside the back hatch. i've flashed it with cRoms from xda! guess what? i'm still up for warranty as long as the stickers protection the machine inside is still intact.
btw, does x1 comes with guarantee?
Right is just like a pc ... as long as is still in warranty they want care if u have customized it in any way or whatever they just reflash it to latest SE rom ... and repair it
never had problems

quick question

Hi guys, after much reading and debating, I think I'm ready to flash my first ROM. Quite nervous as I don't wanna brick but there's one thing I'm not clear on - when flashing a new ROM is it also going to be necessary to flash a new radio or will my stock one still be there working when (and if) I come out the other side?
Cheers,
Richard
anyone? simple yes or no will do!

Yes, your device and your radio will work, if you'll want or need you can flash newer radio also.
im happy with the radio i have, it works perfectly. i wont update unless i need to, the thing i need to know is will i have to definately yes or no. i only ask as ive read the best way to flash a new radio is on a formatted memory card - but i cant find an old card in the house even though i was sure i had a few. but if the radio will definately be there and functional then i shall begin flashing my shiny new energy rom...
thanks for the reply mate

Good luck, I believe you'll like your new ROM
BTW, I always flash my device through USB cable using USPL
success! not as painful as i thought it was going to be. a few issues at the start with the hspl wrapper not recognising the device but that was easily resolved. just booting up after my second hard reset and im ready to start exploring, looking great already. thanks xda and all its wonderful members!
Glad you got this resolved. Now you're gonna be a constant flasher like the rest of us

you've tried hspl by jockyw2001 ..? take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361236
Thanks Hakim
have managed to figure out the difference between hard and soft reset ...lol and now turns out i haven't bricked my phone although not sure if the program link you've given me will do the job as it says it not for sim lock and that i have to use v0.1 which then says it can't be used on 6.1 so i have to downgrade?????
i also found out i have SPL 3.56 Hard 2 on the bootloader screen
and its a kaiser 130 if this helps
radio 1.58.25.17
if anyone else can help with recipe or what needs doing i'd be grateful cos it a lot more complex than i first imagined
Works now after shutting down and putting in differant sim. Thanks for the post anyway Hakim

you're welcome !!
glad to help you, be careful next time
its going to take more than that to brick a kaiser with all the good work going on here there are always answers.
just to say that your radio is quite old, i have had best luck with 1.65.16.25 (a standard HTC one).
if you want to try have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182
using a spare micro sd card it is very quick to change radio only without affecting anything else. maybe help with your sim compatability.

happy new year to u dude but i got spl 5 so the whole problem with that makes things harder any ideas
there is a couple of ways mentioned here.
put phone into bootloader and install stock standard nodo rom. that will downgrade your hspl. there is a thread ....how to downgrade hspl with more detail.
just follow the instructions. once u have downgraded then you can install cotulla hspl and after that the custom rom
cheers
