htc tytn ii touchscreen - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I have Alex's Rom on my htc. It fell off my hand and broke the lcd, tried to replace it myself could not so took it to the local shop in Houston. They charged me $100 and replaced it with a new one. It was working fine for 2wks then i started having touch screen sometimes works sometimes does not issue. Could not even do ALIGN. The shop said that the screen and the flex card is fine but motherboard is messed up since he replaced it with his new one and it works.
I have already spent money on it and wondering is there any way to fix the touch screen without replacing motherboard. After he put it back I do not have any touch screen capability at all. He said he cannot do anything about it.
Need your suggestions what would you do with the device since without touchscreen it is very hard even to make a phone call with Alex's Rom since i cannot press any keys when the contact shows on the screen?

There is no way I would have spent $100 on this old phone. Get a new phone .

Yeap, too much money. With that you can get a cheap old and good kaiser in ebay if lucky.

Touchscreen just stopped working??

I was tapping away happily on my little used XDA2i and suddenly the touchscreen stopped working. There is no damage to it and I tried to soft and hard reset and nothing works.
Now I am at the opening screen after hard reset and it looks like the touchscreen is kippered.
Any ideas of a cheap mending solution?
Just to clarify - the display works fine it just doesnt respond to touch.

dude...i think the connectors must have gotten out of place from the motherboard...a simple solution is to go and hand it over 2 da nearest phone repair shop and i doubt it would be cheap so just find a way to open the pda(which is very very very simple and easy) and i have done that a hundred times and the xda2i still works perfectly..one of da reason why i love it soooo much,lol...anyways...the connectors are visible ones you get to open the back panel and see for yourself...
I have just got an XDA 2i. i got it very cheap in a not working state and the problem was as you described. The machine would power up but not accept input from the touch screen. I disassembled it, cleaned it up and rebuilt it and it now works fine. I assumed it was the connector for the touch screen. The job was quite simple but i am fairly technically competent. A replacement screen can be found on Ebay for as little as £14 GBP.
Ok, I have had this to pieces and also dismantled the screen to see what the problem might be, gave everything a wiggle and then rebuilt the machine.
Touchscreen still not working though the LCD still seems fine and so i am assuming that I haven't broken it.
Not sure what to do next as I cant find any XDA 2i touchscreens on fleabay. Anyone had exactly this problem and replaced only the touchscreen (not the LCD too) and could give me some tips. I couldnt see how to replace just the touchscreen ie where it would connect to the mainboard. Also - Stev - when you said you cleaned it - do you mean you actually cleaned the touchscreen part or the machine generally.
Thanks
Touch screen problem with no alignment
Have got 2 Qtek 2020i with defective touchscreens. After hard reset they get to the "align screen" image, and the PDA responds to the touch by moving the cursor between the 5 adjustment points - but alignment seemingly never occurs, as I can continue forever.I guess the touch screen in itself got misaligned - anyone with experience in this ? .I found replacement touch screens from Hong Kong for as little as $6.99/pc, and $2,50 for shipment to Denmark.
I have bought a replacement touchscreen from ebay, however it looks like it needs soldering at the back and the ribbon on the screen is a different layout. Anyone have any idea what to connect and to where?
Does anyone know whether the touch panel from XDA II will be able to fix to XDA IIi ? I am having problem with my XDA IIi(Alpine) it seems the touchscreen is not responsive. I have already tried opening the Alpine check the connectors it seems to be okay so i am suspecting the touch screen is the fault. I have found this website http://mobile.brando.com.hk/TouchScreenO2xdaII.php selling the replacement touchscreen but it stated there XDA II. Will it be a match for Xda IIi? Will it be easy to fix? Anyone with experience please help. Thanks.
I bought one on ebay for £12.98 that said XDA 2i and it looks like the one in your picture, which I dont think is the right one - I reckon that is the XDA 2 one version. I phoned the company I bought it from, in London and they said if I send the whole lot to them they will fit the new screen for £20 more which seems fair enough. That would mean the touchscreen fitted for £32 - a lot less than the £80-100 I've seen elsewhere.

Kaiser died

Two weeks old and completely dead - not even a light on when plugged in to the mains. Has anyone else had this issue, or am I just unfortunate?
The phone started locking up when using TT6 - the only way to free it up was to remove the battery. Also quite often the touch funcion of the touch screen would not start, a restet usually got this sorted, but could take a few attempts. Lets hope it was just a one-off dodgy unit!
Personally - I would return it.
Have the rep see if they can get it to respond.
Bill
I have just got a replacement unit, T-Mobile have said because its a power issue within 28 days it's a warranty replacement. Interestingly the new unit has a different battery, its a Samsung KAIS160. I cant remember what brand the old one was but it was definately different.
Not having much luck with the Kaiser, the replacement had a leaking TFT - out of the box, brand new and factory sealed! Third Kaiser arriving today!

Hardware Problem What do I replace

I recently purchased some housing and screens for 3 Tilts I am planning on putting up on ebay. The phone with the problem was my original tilt that was sent back for a warranty repair but in transit the carrier ran it over with a truck or something. It came back with tire marks on the package. Needless to say this caused some trouble with the ATT warranty people. After it sat in my garage for a year I pulled it out.
Every thing seems to work now except for the touch on the screen. I know it is not the screen itself ( I installed it in another phone and it works). I have hard reset flashed and taken it apart various times. Nothing.
The new symptom is that i found out if I push really hard on the buttons on the front of the phone I can get the touch function to work for a second or two.
I want to know what part should I be buying. Do I need to buy the whole ribbon connector that twists itself from the front of the phone to the back or am I missing something else all together.

HTC Diamond Warranty Touchscreen Repair

Hello guys,
I've had this problem ever since I bought my Diamond last year where every now and then, the touchscreen suddenly becomes misaligned and the phone becomes unusable. Until now, I could always just apply pressure to the screen by rubbing it against my shirt and it got better within 1 or 2 minutes.
However, over the past few days, it's just suddenly gotten a lot worse. The phone's touchscreen suddenly stops responding for a long time, perhaps about an hour (i didnt time it but its bad) and this is a serious problem.
My phone is slightly past warranty and so I don't think HTC will repair it for free. Of course, I'm really regretting not having it repaired during warranty because now they are saying it will cost roughly £90 to get repaired.
My question is, are there any alternative routes I can take to get my phone working properly again? And, if I send my phone to HTC and they send it back unfixed, will they charge me another £90 if I send it back? (the person on the phone was useless at explaining). Also, does HTC still even manufacture Diamonds?

Replaced screen+digitizer, but now touch does not work?

My Xperia X1 had a fall and the screen glass was broken heavily, so I bought from ebay a cheap replacement screen+digitizer (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300628817380), today I got it, and went ahead and installed it following online guides on the diassembly of the X1, all went ok (the guide did not say how to separare the broken glass from the screen itself, so i went ahead by some force.
But after the assembly, the phone is not accepting any touch input, I am sure I put back all cables and contacts in their correct location, but no touch is working
is the digitizer not a compatible one? how can I be sure of it? I don't want to spend a lot on fixing this phone, it is old and slow, I want to use it as a second sim holder.
Thanks in advanced....

Greetings,
As I said in my old post, after re-assembling the device a second time the touch works again, but this time I did something and the backlight remains always on, which is consuming all the battery.
Did not investigate more in the issue, my X1 is in the drawer for the moment.
