New game in Beta. Pocket Empires - Droid Eris Themes and Apps

Been playing this game since the first day and for those of you that enjoy MMO's, you will love this game.
Pocket Empires is a MMO strategy game developed by Pocket Play and consists of real-time persistent gameplay. When you start up the game you’ll have a couple of options to choose from including which country to belong to (there’s two of them), gender and of course your empire’s name.
Once inside the game you’ll notice a similar type board to other strategy games such as Age of Empires or Civilization where you’ll conduct your building, perform research, and do your harvesting. Everything is based on time so building and research takes a certain amount of time as does travel. Your stats increase as the levels get higher or the distance of travel is further. Eventually you will move on to conquering other towns or monsters that reside on the open map.
So far I’ve enjoyed playing this game and aside from the odd connectivity issue, I’ve not had any real problems with this game at all. If you like persistent MMO strategy games then you’ll more then likely enjoy this one so I would definitely give it a try. Just be prepared to get attacked when offline!
Gameply features include:
* Over 10 unique structures to build your city
* Over 30 different creatures to be recruited or captured
* Over 40 techs & 50 items to enhance your power
* Huge map you and other players conquer
* Ongoing game updates with even more content
* Global Top 100 player board, Titles and more
Pros:
* Very in-depth gameplay
* Actual interactivity as opposed to the typical browser style MMO’s available with buildings and monsters
* The graphics are fairly nice as well with some animation of monsters on the open map
* Overall responsiveness of the game and menus is pretty fast
* No shortage of other players already
* Lots of reports available from fights/raiding and overall economic statistics
* Long gameplay
* Lots of bonuses that can be purchased with gems
Cons:
* Aside from the opening music track (which seems slightly distorted) there’s no sound effects unless you get mail or a report
* If you aren’t used to this type of time based gaming, you’ll probably find the game play slow after awhile, especially when building take 3-4 hours to be built
* Some server connection problems (not sure if it was on my end or not)
* More free player slots needed as one country is already full
* If you don’t refer people to the game, you’ll run out of 100 gems quick and there’s no current option to buy gems.
Final verdict: Overall this is a good solid title with a lot of potential, especially when considering the amount of time you’ll spend on playing it. Pocket Empires is free for download and ad supported with one ad in the bottom menu (only when it’s opened).

HTC Diamond G-Sensor - New Use IDEA!!! MP3 Playback speed adjustment for runners

Hi ...
Various manufacturers have come up with sensors and software (even special running shoes) as accessories to iPod etc to allow beat analysis + playback speed modification based on a runners pace (detected by a pedometor).
I'm thinking, as a runner, and an owner of the very capable Diamond, that the G-Sensor could do this very job.
I personally run, using the Diamond as an MP3 player, with it mounted in a tiny arm band holder.
The very nature of the position of the phone will produce "G" signals which will match the pace of my running.
If this was combined with a fairly standard "Beat analysis" algorithm in an MP3 player, it should be possible to adjust the speed of MP3 playback (within margains) to match the running pace.
Does this sound like a reasonable idea ?
If so, is there anyone out there that has the skill and time to develop such an application ?
I'm sure it would be very popular.
I have lots of ideas about how it would work and what parameters would be useful to adjust etc.
Looking forward to any responses.
Interesting, and probably the movement data could be used for a pedometer as well, could be a battery efficient way to track running distance.
I just set up yesterday my Diamond to play MP3's via WMP and track my running with RunGPS at the same time, using the wired remote to control the tracks. Very cool. If you are a serious runner/cyclist I suggest you try RunGPS, you can export to google maps etc but the feature I like the most is you can get voice announcements over your headphones e.g. announce your current speed, average speed, distance run etc etc every 5 minutes. I have just started training for my first marathon so it's good to help me learn to keep a constant pace (aim is to finish under 4 hours, and most importantly just to finish....)
GPS obviously hits the battery life, running for 1.5 hours yesterday with rungps and mp3 playing took my (Stock) battery from 100% to 50%.
Hiya Bigruss ...
I've taken a look at the trial version of RunGPS - it looks great. I'll give it a try this afternoon on my half-marathon training run (ING Amsterdam).
I see this chap has plans to add a pedometer function based on the G-Sensor in his very nice GPS Cycle Computer software.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424423
I'll keep an eye on that!
Bit more info for this idea
A few more ideas on this ...
I would imagine that the G-Sensor / Pedometer area isn't too difficult, as mounting the phone on the arm creates a steady swinging action in direct correlation to your pace.
BUT the MP3 adjust side requires several things :-
1) An MP3 player that will adjust playback speed without pitch adjustment. (Many do this now within reasonable limites, but not the built in one).
2) A beat analysis program to establish where possible a number of BPM in the music (easier with dance music etc) - similar algorithm used in all the visualizations for WMP etc.
3) G-Sensor based pace rate analysis.
4) Interface between the two with some adjust parameters from the user.
I think it's pretty complicated! But it would make the diamond a seriously impressive partner to the thousands of runners out there.
Anyone up for the challenge ?

droidFlex - Reflex game and tool!

This fun, addicting game is all about reflexes. Play the 6 challenging levels in one-player mode while competing for the global high-scores or go up against your friend in two-player mode and see who's reaction dominates.
Instructions:
Code:
One-player mode features several challenging levels, each with an increased requirement difficulty to advance. Players must tap the blue "press" button to initiate the random timer. After an x number of seconds, the background screen will change color (can be customized). The player must then tap the button again as quickly as he can.
The offset time will be recorded in milliseconds, and the average of all the turns (varies depending on how long it takes for the player to win) is submitted to the global high scores.
The player is penalized with an early touch. In other words, the player initiated the timer, but touched the button for the second time before the color changed. This will bring the player one level down. The second way the player can get penalized is if he/she is unable to fulfill the offset requirement to advance to the next level.
The score in this game is not an arbitrary number. It is a fairly accurate representation of the offset between the change of background to the player's input. droidFlex doesn't only have to be a game. Feel free to use it as a tool to measure how quick your friends (or parents :) really are.
After each game (one-player or two), players will be able to view their average score and the amount of turns it took them to complete the tasks. Players will also have the opportunity to then submit their average score to the global high scores and see how they rank up against other players around the world.
Hey guys. This is my second legit android application. The reason why I haven't been coding in a while is because recently I have been diagnosed with diabetes. The main intent of this application (of course besides have fun) is to hopefully raise some money for meds and stuff (you'd be surprised ). The app is currently up for $0.99 on SlideMe and going to go up for $0.99 on Android (as soon as paid apps become allowed). I appreciate each and everyone of you who downloads this fun application, for you not only bought yourself a little package of fun, but also helped someone along the way.
Cheers!
Will Gladly support when it komes out on market !!
coming to the market of mid next week!

Android Drag Racing Thread!

Hope it's ok to start this thread...just thought, as Drag Racing has had a few cool updates, like textures, graphics and best of all....you can add your username and also see it just above the car you own when your racing etc....PLUS the ability to find and invite friends etc etc....
Would be kinda cool to have a thread where we could perhaps give our Drag Racing user names, and race each other etc etc.
Would be some cool friendly bragging wars on here as well, when my modded clio sport blows past you all....or vice versa etc.
Post up latest stats etc as well.
Anyway, my username: bodybuilder27 so add me, then enjoying some humble moments if I make you choke on my exhaust fumes, or bragging rights if you kick my butt...lol
When i finally learn how to root my phone, i'll post screen shot of my stats, which aint very good at all, unless it is possible to take a screenshot without root?
Anyway, add your Drag Racing usernames here and screenshots of your stats and we can have a bit of fun, adding each other, smoking each other, shaming each other...lol.

My drag racing name is Nikneverwins. (Its just a clever name) add me and lets race.
Btw latest update. 1.1.3. Did something to pro league to prevent cheating. I'm not a cheater but my level nine got disqualified and 4708 rank points were lost. Level 1 4307 points lost.
I love the game so I am not too mad, as long as I know that the update will stop cheaters who take the fun out of the game.

White Hat - Profiler [Paid] / Unity 3D Game [Free]

White Hat is a networked facial recognition profiler that will identify other users based on information that is entered by adding yourself to the database.
Launching the game alone will allow you to start matches with Android, iPhone, and PS Vita users without having to profile them first. The downside is that these games will not be scored as well as games started by profiling your opponent. The upside is that from this mode you can invade those games and mess with people who are being scored.
This is part of a presentation for a mobile gaming masters degree, so please refrain from all the usual profanity and derogatory ratings if you comment on the listing. Enjoy!
White Hat - Watch_Dogs Style Profiler Game
Beta testing will be needed for the Playstation Vita to Android cross-play. If you have both devices and are interested in testing, beta versions will be available once the process for deploying them is established.
Finally got everything configured and ready to go. The game is actually a game, despite being very simple. The Playstation Vita has been added as a supported device. The profiler is slowly going cross-platform with iPhone, I am not sure the PS Vita will get a profiler, but it isn't ruled out yet.
