Just wondering if you guys have had any problems with the desire camera in this regard. So programs/games that have you take a pic (like facebook to post, or worldofphoto, etc) will call up the cam, but once a pic is taken my desire cam just left me in the camera app?
I switched to the stock camera app which works fine with the programs. However, I HATE the stock camera, esp the lack of shutter sound removal.
Also, when I pushed the stock camera back onto the phone it broke my desire camera app so now I have two on there, but only the stock works.
-does the desire camera just not work like this right now? havent really seen much about it.
-is there a way to have both camera apps work on the phone (that way I can use the stock cam for program-related camera work and desire for just plain photo taking)?
-if not, how do I remove the desire camera???

nope, doesn't work well with other programs yet. That's the reason I got rid of it.
Search for the originalcamera.apk in the forums. Flash that. Or just reflash your ROM. No wiping necessary.
the desire cam works fine with goggles and shopsavvy for me. cant speak for facebook (i must be the only one left w/o an account) or others. if i recall right, i had issues when i flashed cyans latest 506, but reinstalling via recovery sorted it out.

I seem to have this problem with most apps that prompt the camera to be used. For example, the program "A World of Photo" (you send a random photo from your location to someone else in the world, and they send one to someone, etc) will automatically prompt my camera to come up so I can take the said picture, but after the pic is taken, it just goes back ready to take another pic as if I had opened the camera app. It doesn't go back to A World of Photo as I am assuming it should.
I am on CM 5.0.5.3 (wasn't feeling 5.6) and using the desire camera. Is the desire camera the problem, and how might I fix?

Try reverting to stock camera and see if the problem persists.
Is that as easy as pushing the stock htccamera apk back in the system app folder or do i need to do something with the existing desire app? Sorry, still getting used to android.
edit: and why do I keep getting read-only filesystem errors when trying to do so?
edit2: ok just needed a remount - got it copied over. Now I have two camera apps lol.
edit3: yup it was the desire camera apps fault... well I have dual option now I guess so it does "work" with the stock camera app. Work in progress!

Hey yet another desire cam question...
Just wondering if there is a way to have both cameras on the phone? Tried R2 desire cam and it still doesn't play nice with apps so I want the original on there for that purpose. But if I'm just taking pics then I would like to use the desire cam.
I imagine that flashing the R2 desire cam via recovery changed some system files? Can I just rename the original camera apk to something other than "camera.apk" and push that into the app folder, having two cameras or is it more involved than that?

I pushed into system/app with a different name, and when calling it up using facebook I *DO* get the option to choose between the two cameras, but no matter which one I use it seems to open up the Desire cam.
Any ideas?

Hi, Loaded latest CoreDroid 1.1 yesterday I had following issues:
*Mirror App is not Installed, not able to test front camera.
*Backlight Buttons not lighted, however they work.
*When doing Video Chat on Google Talk front camera is rotated landscape.
Appreciate any help con correcting these issues while new ROM comes.

I noticed that Mirror App is really only on Android Revolution. I tested mine on other roms using the camera app and just reversing it.

Weird that it doesn't work for that rom.. Unfortunately I haven't tested that rom myself yet. I would assume that the backlights have issues because it's sense 3.0 (but don't take my word for that, I'm not 100% sure) Roms like VirtuousUnity have a fix you can flash to help with the issue... maybe flashing that may help? I can't guarantee that'll help.. I doubt it'd even work lol (I also don't use the incredible anymore but to my knowledge.. I'm pretty sure you have to wait until HTC releases updates for incredible S to have everything working!)

I think it's like this for like EVERY rom (I would blame sense but again.. not 100% sure lol)

Versions available: (Use the latest from below, or use DeToX-cz's installer app)
1. "Talk_with AV.zip". Same as stock with just the FC fixed so it works on other phones.
2. "Talk_with_AV_no_wifi.zip" or "talk1.3.nowifi.update-signed.zip". Added a fix to let it work over your data connection.
3. "talk1.3.nowifi.v2-signed.zip". Added an additional fix to let it work over data.
4. xilard version. #3 with Camera and microphone tweaks.
5. [email protected]'s gTalk installer. Installs the new gTalk files. Needs root. Not sure what mods he has incorporated in it.
6. xilard version +theos0o portrait fix, by $omator
7. version "1.33" by theos0o [thread][multiupload link]. I copied the 3 files in the update.zip manually using android commander and it works fine. (Nexus one, 2.3.5 CM nightly)

In some of them, the other person cannot see me. In other versions, cam works fine, but I cannot hear the person and viceversa. In the modaccos version, the front cam is 90° turned around. Well you know all the problems. Thats why my question:
Does anybody knows a gtalk [video/wifi/cam switcher] custom app that really works on the Incredible S?

i did have trouble in MIUI rom, but nothing with VU.

And video call works on yours? Can u see and hear the other person? Can the other person hear and see you? Is your front cam flipped to 90 degrees? Can you switch between front and rear cam?

I did a full wipe and installed the new VU 2.39.
Talk works fine, only that the front cam is flipped on 90°.
Is there a patch or something? maybe this framework-res or something like that? i dont know what else to try.

lol. i understand your frustration.
but everything works fine. i can hear and see the other person and they can hear and see me too.
the image is quite right, not flipped
am sorry you having these issues!
since you have wiped and re-flashed, you could probably try uninstalling the 'talk' app & then download and re-install from the market.
maybe that would work

I have recently installed the CM 10.1 for new bootloader because I hoped to use the Camera Sphere, but it was absent from the build.
Now I've returned to the DM 1.2 30b OC, and I am interested to see if there is a way to install the application on our phones?
I tried when it first came out, I had CM10 flashed, and tried flashing the camera app through CWM but it never worked.
Has anyone here on the forums successfully managed to get Camera Sphere set and running?

it is a bit hard to make camera sphere work on Optimus 2X because it doesn't have enough memory. This is the main problem why is not working
I didn't know that, but no wonder, this phone really is crippled with its RAM, I mean, you cannot even play Angry Birds, open some other app and return to the game, without it reloading completely. Such a shame.

I can't say for sure, but it is very possible that it is.
on new bl on pengus77 rom there is the option to enable swap. after that, sphere fotos are working for me
