It's NOBRAND, fw 1.31, bootloader 0.43.

Finally I've root it!
Run all the processes from a lite version of Windows XP!
The difficult part was to configure the drivers of Legend for adb, fastboot and bootloader mode: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg90765.html
After that another possible variant for my success may have been the change of the microSD which I created the Goldcard.
So, from windows, step1 did not give me more the error 42 and was able to load all necessary files on the device, consequently, has also completed the step2!
P.S. single bug found ... greater instability in wifi!

Cannot root my Legend
I have the same problem at Step 2. I get Error: Device not Found when it tries to load files to the phone and to the SD card. And I have that warning symbol on the phone screen. Is there something that you have to do so the computer can find the phone? I have the drivers there. What else do you need to do? Has anybody figured it out?
Thanks for any advice.
Jeff

how long does the step1 take?
I am wondering how long the step1 may take. It is runing since a while...
thanks for any answer....

Did you pass the step1 without problems?
If any error was encountered, step2 is likely to fail.
Have you checked your ROM/bootloader versions?

win7 x64
Ok. So with win7 x64 the step1 was never done.
I rooted with my mac, that worked fine.

do you have a backup font?? if yes, you can push the backup in while you plug your phone, run the adb command and restore your fonts. seem like some fonts don't working and make Tattoo can't boot.

Apteem,
If you see the "Can't open /cache/recovery/command", your in recovery mode.
You need to be in Fastboot.
Power down your phone.
Press Volume Down and Power at the same time.
You should get a white screen with 3 skating androids.
The hboot will scan for several files on your memory card.
When it is done, press the correct key to enter fastboot.
"Fastboot" will appear on the screen.
Insert USB cable.
"Fastboot USB" will appear on the screen.
Launch the RUU utility in your PC and flash away.

Do you have a goldcard, or have you made one?
EDIT: To get fastboot menu as mainfram3 posted above, HOLD DOWN VOLUMEDOWN (on the side) as you boot the Tattoo up. You will get into a screen with androids on skateboards. Give it 30 seconds, then download the offical WWE ROM, extract it, run the EXE and follow the instructions.
If you are failing to do this, well, sorry, but send it in for repairs under a "downloaded new update and won't boot anymore" excuse.

i don't have a gold card and i failed to do RUU. my tatoo is device in HK but i live in thailand.
apteem:
The key of making a goldcard is the sdcard's CID. You should borrow another android phone running donut kernel from others and insert your sdcard to it, get the CID(the way discribed in other thread) and make the goldcard. btw, RUU can't run without java VM.

Use the cedesmith's cLK bootloader and cLK Android build. In this bootloader you do not hold the voldown button, you hold down any key (except power) to show the console.

clk is a good idea - but you need the volume key to flash it - directions::
make sure you have hspl
- enter SPL by holding VOL DOWN key while powering/resting the phone.

Yeah, you're right. My mistake. It was about the SPL (phone bootloader) ...
But the phone bootloader can trigger via USB cable (for example, when installing the wm6 rom via USB, the windows installer restarts the phone to phone bootloader). I have not tried, but it seems possible

you are right about rebooting into bootloader - but that is via WM, not android. i have not seen the ability of android to directly boot into WM bootloader without volume key usage. but would be nice if i am wrong, as many are dependent on the volume key! definitely anything is worth a try; hope you get it OP!

Yes, again I must agree. I checked.
With the wm6 on board you can trigger phone bootloader via USB and ActiveSync. With android can not.
So when you have a wm on your phone, you can install cLK or maglrd. When you do this, you have no way back with a broken vol-down button - for now.
Thank you jsmccabe78 for correcting

[Q] Help unbrick device

After installing Vanir, I don't know what went wrong !!! it was freezing then after trying to charge it, it bricked!!!!
I searched the forume and found major two ways
FIRST
RuedasLucas Here :

i followed the info. correctly and stuck in the same problem the man in the thread have, I am stuck in LG logo
so i tied the second
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40174748&postcount=9&nocache=1
and i am stuck in installing " LGmobile Support Tool " because i am in windows 8 and it is not compitable with it. every time trying to install it seems not responding.
so i am stuck now and donot know how to unbrick it !!! no one tell me to set up win 7 because i donot have one
The LG support tool works fine on my Windows 8 64-bit version. Look for the thread on 'Flashing a KDZ with pictures' and follow it to the letter.
did u install gapps ? vanir installation never had a problem. about windows 8 x64 i can confirm the support tool is working because i had them some months ago ( now im on ubuntu x64 ).
and its not a good idea if on some little mistake u try go back to stock. the reason u tried flash vanir was to go away from stock. if u flash back to stock then in a few days will want to flash again a custom. so try again and do it right !
also dont take off battery. no need. maybe this battery trick is history. i never did that. i just long pressed power to reboot and then i just pressed a few times the vol down ( not hold ).

The first thing to do if it sticks on the LG Logo is to boot into the LG recovery and do a factory reset - just to make sure. You often have to do this after flashing a new KDZ anyway.

i told you earlier at my post here , that you dont need to flash kdz and go back to stock if ur final goal is a custom rom. u could reinstall recovery using adb bootloader. nevermind -_- u just do things harder for u. bootloader is unlocked u cant unlock the unlocked. bootloader isnt locking again when u just force the stock rom in. there is another procedure u must do to lock it. u can install recovery ( if u havent ) and just install a custom rom
EDIT: you dont need this anymore but ill explain.
adb is used to force files into the device. its a way to communicate with the phone using the pc. u can use the adb to install whatever u like but if u are not sure that the thing u are trying to install is ok for the device, then u will have a problem.
so , since your bootloader is already unlocked, you can go in adb bootloader and force the recovery in.
open cmd:
Lets say i use the teamwin recovery. ill rename it to be easy and save it to desktop. my file is: recovery.zip
open cmd as administrator and go to desktop: cd .....[path to ur desktop]
1. adb start-server
2. adb reboot bootloader
3. fastboot fash recovery recovery.zip
thats it. 3 commands is 10 seconds work. u dont need to go back to stock rom to install a custom rom.

You're probably missing the OS. You're not going to get the original recovery back but you can download a stock image and flash it in recovery to get an OS.

The problem is the lack of an OS to boot and so it just hangs at the HTC screen. Either a) flash another stock or b) assuming it's been less than 30 days, take it back to wherever you bought it and complain it's broke and feign ignorance. You may also try restoring to factory defaults and installing the stock again. Sounds like you may have ****ed your partitions doin whatever it is you was doin.

Ok,thanks.
You mean restart Recovery or not?
No, I mean what I wrote. When you press the Power button from the Fastboot screen it will go to the HBOOT screen, look for a file named 0PCVIMG.zip and try to install it.

Hi jdmedeiros,
I loaded this RUU (which is the correct ROM for my htc 510 bought in Singapore) to the micro sd card and it runs and then return error message "Device halted due to large image update fail. Press power to reboot."
I have rooted my 64 bit htc510 and some reason I may have deleted or uninstall the wrong apps, my phone is not able to reboot to factory default and always hang at the white screen with htc logo.
Anyone knows how to find this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Is your bootloader locked?
if (bootloader is not locked) {
1. reboot phone to bootloader (it will say fastboot usb under a red bar)
2. from the pc run "fastboot oem lock" (the phone will restart and come to the bootloader screen referred to in point 1.)
3. press the Power button; it will go into the HBOOT and if that is the right file for your phone than it should install.
4. let us know if it worked... we like to know
}

I am able to see fastboot usb. When I ran "fastboot oem lock", phone restarted but ended with the attached error message "status read failed. (too many links)". See attached file.
Now the top of the screen has 2 new lines :
"*** Relocked ***
*** security warning ***
Please help. I tried various method but still stuck with the boot screen or went into bootloaded screen but not able to install anything.
It works!!!
Made a stupid mistake : didn't insert the microsd card when I rebooted the phone in fastboot.
Took about 15 mins to complete the flash. Now back to the stock rom.
Will root the phone again later.
All this will not be possible without your generous help.
Very good! Now when the phone reboots and you are looking at those two lines *** Relocked *** *** security warning ***, meaning that you are in the bootloader screen, press the POWER button and it will go to the HBOOT menu and install your update, as long as the file is in the root of the sdcard and is called 0PCVIMG.zip

I cant paste this zip on sdcard. Its allways say Phone is not connected or phone not response..any idea for fix it?
Remove the sdcard from the phone and insert it directly into the computer (after you place in the carrier) and then copy the file to the sdcard.

I have added this zip to my 32gb sdcard and rename it to right name, but phone dont find it on hboot,i thin because my pbone is ubl,but i cant lock it because fastboot devices is no work, dont know whats the problem...im using w7 32 bit
Edit: Fixed adb and fastboot devices, going to try it now.
I got this error when phone tried to flash this zip:
"CID incorrect!
Update Fail!
Device halted due to Large Image update fail.
Press bower to reboot"
OK, it's the wrong file for your phone. That's what the message means.

There's a problem with the zip - can you upload it again please? Tried downloading 7 times now, on different browsers and machines, always comes back as corrupt (checked out the contents of the zip with 7zip and the userdata8 img file is incomplete)

This is from my dropbox and if you download it you need to extract it from the zip file first and it's meant to be used on a computer NOT a phone and if you don't know what you are doing with an RUU read and learn first please do not PM me asking how to use this because I won't answer any PM about this!
