I want to try and load a new rom on my wing. Which one do you guys think the Wing can benefit from the most? One problem I have now is that the reception is horrible. That's the main reason why I want the change. I will be honest I have no idea what I'm doing. Is it the ROM I want to change or the radio version? Can someone point me on the right way? Thnx in advance!
its the radio that is messing up your reception.
Okay. Are there any tutorials I can use to change it? BTW The phone has ROM version 4.26.531.1 WWE and radio version 03.21.90. Can you suggest a radio to me? I have no idea what I should be looking for let alone how to accomplish this.
As far as there are NO turorials...you should NEVER change your ROM. It is not good for your device...you can brick it...and it looks ugly with custom colours...

I understand pappamops, because if you read a little bit you can answer your question by yourself. and i suggest you, as pappamops always did it, to read a lot in this forum before flashing. bricking your phone is much more easy than flashing it successfully. if you've read in this forum than you will see that your question(s) are yet answered.

This guy just wants a simple answer. Why do lot's people in this forum insist on making people trawl thrugh hundreds of pages to find an answer when it would be easier to say "A radio is basiaclly..................." You know, a bit like conversation. Not everyone is a developer.

all info you need is stickied. did you really needed a new thread for this? have you not use a forum before? i mean there isn't even an excuse for this one. i don't want to just flame and be mean but reading this post upset me as it probably would many as well. could you not see that wat your finding is stickied? i mean it's plain smacking you in the face in BOLD letters once you get in the rom development thread. wat'd you do, not even read anything and decided to make a thread for it? don't get me wrong, im a total nub too but DAM!!! not even on this level. i feel for sorry for the staff managing this forum.

i dont mean to sound like a jerk at all... we're all noobs (i still am) at some point so with that said there are alot of threads where people ask for the original rom.
if you seach for a lil bit your answer can be found a few places... even google.
folk round here tend to get a lil harsh having to reanswer the same questions, for future reference.

Hey thanks for the reply. I've been on here for a while and I'm no stranger to forums and forum etiquette so I'm not gonna use being a noob as an excuse for asking that question. But I do think we can get a bit stuffy with rules in forums in general, not just here. I think in the midst of a conversation with someone, to casually inquire about something without necessarily asking to be led by the hand to it, is ok. I'm sorry to have seemed like I was asking to be spoon fed, but I was just having casual conversation with you. With a simple yes, I would have searched myself.
But thanks for going to the trouble of finding those links. I just need to confirm now that that ROM and radio actually are working and not flawed in some way. I gotta figure out who created them and how.

the rom works fine, i flashed it just to be sure everything was a-ok when i first got it.
like i said tho, once you find "your" rom, the links will be useless haha
i don't know if this will help any of you dedicated developers, but i pulled a bootlog from the (ugh, recently un-)rooted rogers dream i have with osmonitor. i can't make too much sense of it, so maybe you will have better luck?

Wow, did you even read what they said, or did you just look for a question mark and post a generic response? No question was asked other than a rhetorical one... Seriously, this forum has far too many wannabe mods. To be honest, that was a pretty rude response considering they've done nothing wrong at all but trying to help in development.

Guess is a higher geek count then in most places dont let it get to you tho.
well, now that is what I call a rather rude response. I posted that at 9 pm, and wasn't really too coherent. I'm also surprised that it offended you that much that you had to start a personal attack on me; Seeing as it wound up buried on page two or three by this morning. I posted that boot log as I noticed something when I was looking at it, that it ignored the previous radio versions, and thought that might be a clue for someone who knows about the roms to actually do something constructive. Not that reminding me about the rules of grammar and such wasn't constructive.
Moved as not Android Development.
Im not sure if this can be done with an unrooted fone but if you have Android SDK then get a logcat.
The Devs can understand this much better I think.
