- CHome and LockScreen removed: they where the cause of the memory leak as they cause abnormal
heap allocations in GWES. The bitmap objects stored in memory trough GWES are not cleaned after being unused for a while.
A partial solution was to send WM_HIBERNATE commands to GWES periodically but at the end the memory leak
was there so due to how badly coded these features are I decided to remove them to make the OS fit the device capabilities.

Link to task manager (MS not HTC) is already in start menu, start menu/settings/system and command key + ok key.
Anyway I have tried applying PDAViet memmory fix with no success it seems to be related with some driver or service if anyone could add the Hermes ati driver set (without atihwtbl which wouldn't be compatible with treo's screen settings, so leaving treo's) with HTCRIE and test it, I'm too bussy currently. No registry hive settings require to be changed as the only registry values are for the driver registration, some hw functions as hwroundrect or bitmap caching (framebuffer acceleration) and cache sizes. You would just have to replace the following files with the ones from hermes:
ace_ddi.dll, ahimmsys.dll, ahioem.dll, ahimm_dspimage.dll and d3dm_sedrv.dll
Remember to recmod them so you can add them with HTCRIE
Please do have mercy to those who need an english ROM. All of us have hoped to other cookers but only you @Fjtorsol keeps updating a custom ROM. We do love your work but we really wanted an english one. :weep: Can we ask you to make us one?

How to build your own language pack for an already built ROM
1. Get any CAB maker (WinCECABManager is recommended)
2. Get the following info from the already built ROM:
BUILD_XXXX
LANG_XXXX
DPI_XX
RESH_XXX_RESV_XXX
3. Grab somwere the packages for your language matching the previous requirements (if you have a DPI 192 folder and your device is DPI 92 you delete that folder) and the initflashfiles.dat from the device you own in your language (if not WM65 you can get it from other device I.E.: for Palm Treo, HTC Topaz).
4. When you already have all the required files you just extract them in a folder and undo packages (if they are done) with a package tool (unless you want to manually put all the files and modules together in the folder). Now you should set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folder and system hidden files.
5. Now you will have to recmod all the modules and delete cespell.dll.
6. Now go to the folder you created first and delete all *.dsm files. After that you should combine all the RGU files (Unicode TXT based registry entries). To do this you can create a new TXT document and copy the contents of each file to it, the you should save the file as Unicode and with the extension *.reg.
7. Now lets fix the registry file we created to avoid duplicated devices or connections. You have to delete the following keys and it's contents:

8. No we create another folder and read the initflashfiles.dat whe got before. In the file you will find all the links folders and subfolders that will be created. With this list you have to consider the second folder you created as the roout of Windows Mobile and start creating folders, subfolders and links (to create the links just copy the ones from the already created rom and rename them). After creating folders and subfolders you may have empty folders where you should place an empty hidden file (I.E.: desktop.ini, empty).
9. Now whe have our new language dependant folders and translated links so we have to open our CAB creator, we will explain it for WinCECABManager.
With WinCECABmanager we create a new CAB package (use the name you want, no additonal settings as processor type require to be changed) now we add all the files including the ones we created for empty folders and the links. 10. After they are all added we set them to be in the proper directory the ones comming from the first folder we created in windows and the ones from the second folder in their respective folders considering the second folder as the root of Windows Mobile. Finally we import the registry file we created first and save the CAB package.

For this ROM and in English "23017 0409 .zip/.rar" or "23016 0409 .zip/.rar", this file contains all necessary files for the steps related with the first folder.
For the iniflashfiles.dat dump RUU_Signed.nbh from WM 6.5 Topaz updater English with HTC ROM Image Editor (HTCRIE).
Now we have a fully working device specific language pack !!!

As I said earlier, I asked you to please create us one. I am new to this kind of modding the ROM (right?) and the instructions you gave without the necessary links to the files and screenshots would be very difficult to us especially that we don't have even a little background how custom ROMs are created.

Like written over, you must follow these instructions: This ROM is not OFFICIAL, therefore to start the bootloader through the SSPL-TRIN. Otherwise it will not be possible to install this ROM, ROMUpdater will give to the error “270 Rows to you Damaged Image”. 1) unloaded SSPL-TRIN from this argument and copiatelo in the Telephone. 2) executed the program on your Telephone, and will set off bootloader SSPL-TRIN by DES (that one shielded with 4 colors) 3) under way the ROMUpdateUtility and continuations the instructions.

- J'ai récuperer des executables de la cuisine d'Ervius qui sont utiles : DSM_Editor.exe et Cab_Converter.exe

- On double clic et on observe un tas d'outils bizar pour un débutant comme moi. Après moult recherche il faut faire un "dump" de la ROM d'origine c'est à dire qu'on va l'extraire avec la premier commmande <e> extract a rom
- On obtient alors 3 nouveaux dossiers OEM SYS et ROM

I am part of my first experience cooking with KovskyKitchen to better understand my mistakes.
In fact I download:
- Generic R3AA007 France Software Update: APP_SW_X1i_GENERIC_FR_CDF1215-3307_KOV_R3AA007.exe
- KovskyKitchen and ErviusKitchen
As a first step I rename APP_SW_X1i_GENERIC_FR_CDF1215-3307_KOV_R3AA007.image in RUU_signed.nbh
Then I extracted the rom since KovskyKitchen.CMD; everything seems fine.
So I got three file OEM, SYS and ROM
Following Ervius CabConverter.exe I used to create file OEM of my applications CAB favorites.
I moved the files got to koskykitchen / OEM and I cook my rom
Finally I flashed my XPERIA but this is where my problems start, the phone is stuck on the SE splashscreen.
I finally tried to flashed with a clean rom but a problem occurred: μSD card error 00068002. I have formatted and everything is in order.
I want to know if my procedure is nothing I forgot, its actually seemed strange that he did not add its own OEM
The stuck at the SE logo could be a wrong xip
Remove the OEMs u have put, then cook the rom.
Assuming that u haven´t changed the XIP/SYS of the original, the problem might be one of your oems.

Ok I found my problem. I deleted the file and mp3 unnecessary Bond trailer, apparently without changing a file which I do not know the value!
I tested with just programs and works well.
I think we should edit the DSM to remove unnecessary video and mp3 ?

No, from what I know you can't modify the DSM files. The bond trailer etc is in a file called "fileoperations.xml"(at least the link to the file is there the file itself you have to delete manualy). So you just have to delete the file and the reg entries in the "fileoperations.xml"
Wonderful I was able to remove unnecessary video and mp3, I managed to add EzInput as keyboard and remove the security on the program
when i had manila 2.0 or 2.1 installed in my blackstone, i had no problems using brazilian portuguese manila by changing a registry setting.
in these new releases (i don't know about the old ones 'cause i have been flashing manila 2.5 roms only recently), after doing the 'registry hack', all i get is an almost unusable user interface. ie, home screen shows no weather information; internet tab does not show add or remove favorite shortcut; and much more. all because some manila files are missing and/or incomplete.
i have quickly edited some pt-br files, so now i can have manila 2.5 in brazilian portuguese without having eye sore or headaches.
in no way these files are meant to be 100% error free. they are intended for those who want to use pt-br manila 2.5 at least decently before it's official launch with the official language files, which i hope to be happening soon. they were extracted from and tested with manila 2.5 from miri's rev 8.0. they may or may not work with other rom releases.
i cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by the files provided/mentioned here. use them at your own risk!
PROGRAMS NEEDED:
1. Total Commander (or any other decent file manager)
2. PHM Registry Editor (or any other decent registry editor)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the file provided below. Unzip it to your SD Card.
2. Using PHM Registry Editor, change the manila language code. go to HKEY Current User => MUI => CurLang. Change the hexadecimal value from 409 (en-us) to 416 (pt-br).
3. Using Total Commander, copy all the manila files from your SD card to the Windows folder.
4. Soft reset device or restart TouchFlo 3D.

Can you tell if it works in WM 6.5 23064 or higher, with the start there?
i'm on wm 6.5 21xxx, so i can't test this for you, but if it has manila 2.5 installed then it should work, because these files are exclusively manila related.
make a backup of the files to be replaced in the '\windows' folder and try it, if it does not work, just write backup files again and you'll be ok.

Weird. Already tested in maryone, Miri and Energyrom and all worked perfectly!
If you had followed the previous procedure, it may be, the hint that I was the only side to register!
Try HardReset and then change the record and then reset!

Caro @marcopintito, deixo-te aqui umas ligações onde poderás aprender como alterar Manila para PT-PT (HKCU->MUI->CurLangcode 2070 e não o 816 ). No primeiro 'link' encontras um zip com todos os ficheiros para extraires para a directoria windows utilizando o Total Commander ou o Resco Explorer... depois um Soft-Reset.

I´ve been reading that to install another language, in my case Portuguese-BR, i have to downgrade and then put in edit the option, also i read that this firmware still cant be unlocked.
So please, be patient, after years with iOS and Android i´m starting now a new an great life.
If anyone could really help me, i´ll really appreciate your time and company.

I don't know if your fellow Brazilian helped you, but I write the process to add a language interface, it may come in handy for someone else.
You don't need to downgrade to add a language, because now Mango on Omnia7 is unlockable. But you need to wait till there is a new update, because you are already having the latest update. If you cant wait, flash (downgrade, losing your stored in the phone data) a 7720 Rom like I8700XXKH2, download from http://www.sammobile.com (you need to register for free first)
A. Interop unlock your phone using The WindowBreak Project (Mango is unlockable on Omnia7 if you have firmware KK1 and earlier. Only KK2 is unlockable. The roms fw is KH2 and you will be ok). Instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20619864
B. Sideload WP7 Root Tools by Heatchcliff74. Download and instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265321
Use the apps registry editor and go to Local Machine -> MUI -> Available
Add a new Value (be careful add val, NOT key) with value name: "0416'', value type: ''string'', and value date: ''Portuguese - Brazil''
Exit the app. Reboot the device and re run the registry editor to make sure the new value has been saved at Local Machine\MUI\Available. Also note down what other languages exist.
C. Update manually (not via zune) with WP7 Cab sender from 7720 to 7740 using that cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/m..._2cb1bfdd82133914239b8ee1a78e61e9000d124a.cab

You are good to go with newest OS and your added interface language.

Obrigado funcionou certo conforme seus links, muito bom, o ruim é que perdemos os comandos de voz, você tem algum pack em português? Além disso, notei que perdi o unlock, fiz tudo conforme o tutorial para evitar o re-lock mas quando enfim terminou e a versão 8107 foi instalada, quando entrei nos devidos programas fui informado que a Microsoft havia "banido" e devia desinstalar...será que isso aconteceu porque atualizei pelo Zune?

a)When adding a new value, it always show me "string value name error" and only accept to save with value type "String" and not "DWord" and with name "Portuguese (pt) " and not "Portuguese - Brazil"
b)To stay with Mango unlocked, i should preserve 7720 Rom I8700XXKH2 or with you manual method update to 8107 will preserve it? Does it works like when updating an iOs with jailbreak via Itunes oficial ones?
c)Does are avaiable any voice control packages to portuguese or only to the original languages that come with Nodo?

A. My fault mate, value type is ''string'', I will correct that in the initial post. As fas as the name is concerned, I don't know if it really matters what you write in there. If Portuguese (BR) does it for you it's ok.
B. If you are interop unlocked on 7720, whatever way (Zune or manually with WP7 cab sender) you update, you will stay interop unlocked BUT if you update via Zune there is the possibility (some get it, some others don't, chances are that if you have a unbranded device you will get it) that you will get the new KK2 firmware update along with the actual os update, which although doesn't lock your phone, it doesn't allow you to unlock it again (in case you lose your unlock let's say by Hard-resetting your phone). So easy unlock like Windowbreak (and actually any other way till now) will not be possible without flashing back to older roms.
If you update manually to 8107 (skipping manual update of KK2), and hardreset your device, losing interop unlock, with Windowbreak you can re-unlock it very easily. Also KK2 firmaware doesn't allow provisiong, that may limit some homebrew customising.
C. There is nothing you can currently do with voice packages, at least to my knoweledge. Right now if you set your local to Portuguese (BR), your voice commands don't work?

B)I asked you about cause my portuguese fellow post some links that i follow and at the end my 8107 final update was warning on xap programs that Microsoft "banned" it and i should uninstall then. By the way, that firmware you suggested, i thread people said many things about engineed mode and other stuff, i preferred not to use it cause like i said, im new here, so i download the 7004 one and made manually each update.

Rom is a different thing than firmware. Rom includes OS version (PDA), firmaware, bootloader and and radio version. I8700XXKH2 Rom contains KH2 firmware. Indeed I8700XXKH2 Rom is Engineering Rom (in contrast to Retail Roms), but there is a tool to flash both Retail and Engineering Roms without problem and most importantly engineering roms are 100% updateable via Zune, and after the 1st update via Zune the status of the phone/Rom goes to Retail. But anyway you went all the way from 7004, so more flashing excitement and you get to experience all the updates... 7004 -> 7008 -> 7392 -> 7403 -> 7720 -> 7740 -> 8107. I don't know in your case from 7004, how many steps did you take?
If you updated to 8107 and Zune says there is an update, don't do it. It's the KK2 update that doesn't allow interop unlock and provisioning. If you didn't update to KK2 with the 8107 update in one step, that is... (It is more adviceable to update from 7740 to 8107 manually).
Check Settings -> About and post firmware/radio/bootloader versions.
Here what I've done to have portuguese language (including Camera Settings). if you don´t copy the file with the camera settings translations, you will not see that settings on the camera. You will have only three buttons for the flash.
- Install Windows Phone SDK 7.1
- Install a retail rom 7004 (using I8700_WP7_Downloader_Ver_7.03_For_Retail_Device__Product_Force_Select__)
- Update in Zune to 7008, then cancel the next update.
- Unlock with WindowBreak (it's easy and work always) - http://windowsphonehacker.com/artic...ck_your_samsung_wp7_with_windowbreak-12-23-11
- Install Registry Editor (Windows Phone SDK 7.1 - Application Deployment)
- Create new value for Portuguese language (0816) in registry
- Update in Zune for 7403 (and cancel the next update)
- Install DiagProvXMLv0.91_IS.xap (Windows Phone SDK 7.1 - Application Deployment)
- Copy camerasettingsmanifest.0816.xml to \Windows\ folder on the phone, using Isolated Storage Explorer GUI on PC, and then the DiagProvXML on the phone
- Install WP7 Rool Tools (Windows Phone SDK 7.1 - Application Deployment)
- Verify that the file camerasettingsmanifest.0816.xml is on \Windows using Explorer from WP7 Root Tools.
- Update to 7740 in Zune
- Update to 8107 manually with Cab Sender. (If use Zune unlock is lost)

"AUDIOVIDEOFIX"
Why does our LG LEON has such an awful quality sound in Whatsapp, audio recordings, and stuff? This is a mix between: Low gain for main mic, terrible noise reduction, and (for some apps like Whatsapp voice messages) low bitrate and frequency for the acc encoder.
So, the "AUDIOVIDEOFIX" will: put more gain (dB) to the main mic - set the min bitrate and frequency for the acc encoder higher, so apps like Whatsapp are forced to record in better quality (REALLY BETTER QUALITY). Cameras has also slightly higher video bitrate, which means less compression noise, and audio quality, for both frontal and main camera. Set volume a little higher for headset and speaker. Also, we will enable panorama mode and HDR for the main camera app.
How to do it?
- You need to be rooted
- Download attached AUDIOVIDEOFIX.zip file and unzip it
- Use root explorer or another file explorer that supports root and setting permissions to files
- Go to /system/etc and backup the original files before replacing them. You can copy them to your sdcard.
- Now replace those original 3 .xml with these you have downloaded from this thread.
- SET PERMISSIONS of those files as rw-r--r-- (If you don't do this, the phone might not boot again! bootloop warning)
- re-check, and be sure that the permissions are correct, same as any other file in the same folder, and everything is correct
- reboot and done!
If you are a whatsapp voice messages guy like me, smash that microphone icon and send a voice note. You will instantly notice the difference!
Camera sound quality workaround: After applying this patch, camera app will record with more volume, bitrate and frequency. But noise reduction will still be active. To avoid that, after applying this fix, download Open Camera from PlayStore and select default audio source ( should be the 3rd option in the list) in audio source, inside video recording settings. Use that new app to record videos.

"MULTITHREADFIX"
The "MULTITHREADFIX" will prevent the system to be SO agressive with background processes. Again using whatsapp as an example, if you put it on background while hearing some voice note, and you open other app, the audio may stop because of the process being killed by the system. LG setted up a REALLY TOO MUCH aggressive method for OOM. Also, zRam is setted too high in this device (half of physical RAM). That's why I made (thanks to the help of @Filip98 here) a FIX on init.lge.zramswap.sh located on /system/etc
How to fix?
PART A:
- You need to be rooted
- Go to /system and backup the file "build.prop" just in case of failure
- Now edit the build.prop under /system with root explorer OR use build prop editor from Play Store
Find these lines:

PART B:
Stock zRam is setted to around 450Mb, half of instaled memory. That's why I made the attached MULTITHREADFIX, which will set zram to A THIRD of available memory (that will be 300MB actually) instead of 450MB.
- You need to be rooted
- Download attached MULTITHREADFIX.zip file and unzip it
- Use root explorer or another file explorer that supports root and setting permissions to files
- Go to /system/etc and backup original file before replacing it. You can copy the original one to your sdcard.
- Now replace the original .sh script with the one you have downloaded from this thread.

Por ejemplo, estas en Chrome, y cambias a Snapchat y zas, se te reinicia el Chrome.

Nope. There's a problem with this (at least, for me). If you change the build prop there is a improved for multitasking like change between snapchat and instagram for example or Chrome-snapchat-instagram but the problem comes with the opening apps. The apps take more time to boot.
I checked this with a before-after and yes, there a plus for multitasking but a minus for starting apps

You should try the zram part but living original too-aggressive killers on the build.prop.
We can improve it together.
For me, it works just fine, but maybe your use is different.

My original build.prop settings were different from yours. I wonder if maybe that has to do with why your settings differ from Chakapack.
These were my values:

I have only done the zram multithread fix at first and noticed some improvement in speed but the apps did seem to continue to have to "relaunch" even if multitasking in another app for a few seconds. I went ahead and modified these values on build.prop and will report if there is noticeable improvements in multitasking with no other issues.
I just did the "multithread fix" (both build.prop and zram tweaks) and the difference is brutal. For example, "Relay for reddit" used to reload all the goddamned time (seriously, I couldn't even switch apps without the phone killing it) and now it works like a charm. Same thing with Chrome. I didn't notice any difference in apps startup loading times, as mentioned by Chakapack. My build.prop settings were just like OP's (my LG Leon model is H340AR), if that's of any use to anyone. Problem with Panorama
Unfortunately for me, the panorama mode doesn't work on my phone. When I try to take a panorama, the app crashes. I tried using 3rd party apps but none seem to have the panorama mode. Is there any way to make it work or what can I do other than that everything else is flawless :good:

So I've tried to unzip the file and can't, also tried to download root explorer and again can't. I have an lg leon and this isn't working. Please help!
