(Full Body Shield) vs (Screen Protector + Case) - Droid Incredible Accessories

I'm anticipating my next phone, the incredible, and I want to make sure I get my protective gear first.
So i don't end up with another broken phone (bye G1)
I am considering getting the Zagg full-body shield because I have a 50% off code.
Although I don't see a thin strip of plastic being very impact-resistant.
Pros: no added bulk, phone will look good, and no worries about the antenna strength being interfered with.
Also will fit nicer in the hand..
Cons: Might not work with an extended battery door. Could potentially feel worse in hand
Next option is to get a zagg/steinheil screen protector (or whatever is the best, since it's very difficult to decide)
Along with a case such as the Body Glove, or maybe a silicon case.
Pros: pretty much impact proof, maybe you prefer the bulk because it makes the phone fit in your hand better, also maybe the case just looks good
Cons: other than the obvious, it also may not fit into docks without removing the case first. Also, when I get an extended battery the case may no longer fit..
Possible cases below..
Body Glove (belt clip is removable and smooth cutout can be put to make the back smooth)
Also it gets rid of the unique back, if its not your style.

Amzer® Limited Edition Elite Leather Snap On Hard Case
Amzer® High Gloss TPU Skin Case
Amzer® Silicone Skin Jelly Case
Amzer® Rubberized Black Snap on Crystal Hard Case
There are plenty of other nice ones, I also liked this.

Please recommend a route, i'm all ears to any ideas.

As you said, do you want impact resistance? You laid everything out nicely for yourself, now decide what is right for you.

Right now, I'm using the VZW high gloss silicone case and a Steinheil Crystal Clear screen protector. Very happy with both. Have had the case since day 1 and tried several other SPs before I settled on the Steinheil.
Am considering the Seidio Combo case, but will probably stick with the Steinheil for now (I have one left!)
Good luck!
JC

I'm using a full body shield from BSE AND the black high gloss silicone case from VZW.
I like the BSE / ZAGG type screen protectors because they tend to self repair themselves if you scratch them. BSE all the way tho, I refuse to spend 20+ dollars on a skin.

[REVIEW] Incipio Feather + Zagg invisibleSHIELD reviews

Incipio Feather
- Claims to be less than 1mm thick
- Made from Polycarbonate
- Soft touch finish
- Comes in 4 different colours, this one is Iridescent Blue/Green
The Verdict
It's awesome. Extremely thin and very lightweight, this case makes the phone feel much more solid in the hand. The soft touch texture also takes away the 'slippyness' of the original back cover, and best of all, it doesn't add any more bulk to the phone. All the controls are cut out, so unlike some of the gel/TPU skins, you get to press the naked button rather than pushing it through the case, which is very nice. It fits perfectly snug and doesn't rattle around. Definitely my favourite case for my nexus and I definitely recommend it if you can find it for a reasonable price like I did.
Price: $17.95 CAD, from BlueShop (a canadian online smartphone accessory store thingy: http://www.blueshop.ca/incipio-feather-case-for-samsung-nexus-s-teal/)
Zagg invisibleSHIELD
- Claims to be military grade screen protection against anything from nails to keys
- Lifetime limited warranty
- Applied with liquid solution and rubber squeegee
The Verdict
The installation wasn't too difficult, although getting the actual screen protector off the paper backing proved challenging. Getting the thing on the actual screen was very easy, all you had to do was spray the actual protector with this liquid solution provided and then slide it into place. This actually worked way better than I thought, and I was able to position it perfectly. Once on a dried, the texture took a little getting used to as your finger definitely doesn't slide as nice as the naked screen. However, the protection you get, imo, is worth the price of the weird texture. Plus, unlike other screen protectors I've tried on this phone, the curved glass at the bottom and top of the screen near the bezel actually sticks down nicely, unlike the other ones that didn't stick to the curve and collected dust. Overall I think its a good thing to have on your screen, but the price can only be justified by the warranty- which fortunately I haven't had to use yet.
Price: $14.99 USD from Zagg's website (http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php)

The case doesn't lift the Zagg at all?
I run a very similar set up on my NS4G save that I use the Best Skins Ever screen protector which seems to have a lot less "orange peel effect" (and the black Incipio Feather). My phone feels light and well protected. I especially love how the case keeps the screen (as well as the bezel) off of the tabletop surface when I put it face down.

Why is it so hard to find a good case!

I spent many hours looking and buying and even returning some cases the last 4 weeks from Amazon and Ebay. So far I have bought the Poetic case, the Samsung flip case, the Samsung TPU case, the hard case that was impossible to remove once put on, another Ebay flip case that offers good corner protection except for one corner, a Sieido active case and now this morning, and Amzer case and a rugged case that looks and feels like the Seidio case.
First the rugged case looks and feels great, EXCEPT for the freaking smell! It wreaks of kerosene or a combination of that and Raid roach spray!

And this is where it went after attempting to wash it three times and then soaking it in Palmolive. There is no way the smell is going away. It is embedded in the material. I thought I had a gas leak in my car or the smell was coming from the next car's exhaust until I took a whiff of the case.
The Amzer, which was supposed to be a cheaper version of the Casemate Pop, is just a TPU case with a kickstand. The material is TPU, I was hoping for a harder rubber case to protect the corner and the lip is just a hair thicker than the Samsung TPU case. Kickstand feels flimsy and the TPU material pulls too easily away from the edge.
It has a nice grip and if you like thin case then this is ok.
A run down of the other cases and why it failed:
Looks great, very well protected, IMPOSSIBLE to remove!
Samsung TPU can Poetic flip case. The Samsung doesn't offer enough drop protection and the Poetic is too thick and loose fitting on the phone.
Ebay flip case:
great except the bottom right corner is not well covered and the bottom edge is also not covered.
I guess it is either the Otterbox Commuter case next or the Trident Aegis. All I want is good drop protection and a little thicker raised lip around the front of the phone, something like the Casemate tough case for my E4GT!
Seidio was fine except it was lint magnet and the silicone material is too thin and pull away easily from the edge.

[Review] Plemo, ToTu ,Ankway Flip Circle Case, Terrapin TPU Clear,Legancy Vena Hybrid

Ok guys.. It's to bad that I had to purchase 5 cases before I found the right one. Maybe this will help someone who's looking for that right case.
Simple review... I'm basically looking for Grip, Protection, Fit, and Functionality. I've ordered all my cases from Amazon and prices very, however I've not spent over $12 for any one case.
If you are looking for something specific let me know.

I'll start with the best Vena Legancy. The grip is good, not the best , but it has a nice soft feel, the curve and fit in the case is perfect, the kickstand isn't cheap and works well, and the protection seem solid. The only con hard to get on and off. This also came with a screen protector that looked pretty good.

This circle case worked perfect, the grip and fit was good, the protection was there for a flip case. This case had a good tilt when you flipped it back on itself, kind of like a kickstand. The apps worked great, the wireless charging was slow. I just couldn't get into the circle apps. Getting it on and off was a job.

This was a slim TPU case, I liked the feel and fit. The grip was definitely there, the plastic edge was to hard, and I could see it starting to scratch the top where it wraps around and meets the glass, plus the protection just wasn't there for me and the area around the cam wasn't aggressive enough for me to feel like the lens wouldn't get scratched when laying flat.

This case had the best aggressive grip out of the bunch, the fit and feel was there. The cut out's were good however the hard plastic didn't fit around the hybrid part, nice and slim for a hybrid case. I liked the way it meet the screen protector, and I rolled with this case for months. I liked the protection all around. It was easy on and off. The outside of my lens on my cam got dented while using this case.

I saved the worst for last, I only paid $7 for this case and it got really good review on amazon. The plastic on this was cheap, the grip was just OK, the kickstand felt like it was going to break off, the protection and fit was good, but it took the curve out of the phone. If you need a belt clip, protection and want to get rid of the curve, then this is the case. One thing i did like about this case was the rubber was really soft.
Thanks for the reviews.
Thanks for the reviews. I've been looking at the Tudia Ultra Slim, Caseology Wavelength (more expensive), and also the Aomax Armor, but I didn't even know about the Vena Legacy with the kickstand. I think the kickstand can be a very useful feature, but it can't be a cheap piece of plastic that is just going to break off or dangle loosely. One of my old phones actually came with a separate little kickstand that I use still, but I am not sure it will work well with the curvature of the G4 backing (and I am looking at getting a G4 now). So you think the built-in kickstand is built to last? And the case maintains pretty good and comfortable grip?
Thanks again for the reviews

Artech 21 Rugged Case Review

I was provided a case by Artech 21 to test, here is my review:
If you're looking for a rugged case that will protect your Note 5 from the bumps and falls of everyday life, this case from Artech 21 will get the job done. At just under $10, it does it for a fraction of the price of most cases out there as well.
I chose the orange case to go with my gold Note 5, and it compliments my phone very well. The case follows the design of a few others by snapping into the front piece, then the back piece goes around it. The front does have a built in screen protector. I have a tempered glass protector on my phone, but functionally was not affected, including that of the S Pen. Access to the S Pen with the case is also fairly easy, while still providing a good amount of protection around it.
One thing I noticed about this case that others don't seem to have, is an indentation below the home button. This makes unlocking the phone very easy. This is done while still providing a full lip around the front in case of a fall. Another thing I really like about this case is how well the port covers stay in. This is nice as I have wireless chargers and Bluetooth earbuds, so I don't use the phone ports. Wireless charging does work with this case (official Samsung charger), as well as Android Pay.
The back is a hard plastic, with rubber around the edges to wrap around the side of the phone. The grooves on the sides provide excellent grip. The back of the case shows no wear after several days use, including a camping trip. This is more than likely due to the fake rivets/screws on the back that the case sits on. The one thing I would change with this case would be to have those rivets/screws made of a more rubber material for slightly better grip to the surface. The case, even as bright as it is, does affect the camera, even with the protective lip.
Overall, this was my first experience with Artech 21, and they left me impressed. I will definitely look their way when I decide to add to my Note 5 case collection in the future.

Review: LK Ultra [Slim Thin] Scratch Resistant TPU Case

Today I received the LK Ultra [Slim Thin] Scratch Resistant TPU Case. My initial impressions of the case are very good. The case fits very snuggly and adds noticeably less bulk to the phone compared to the Tudia Ultra Slim Arch case I was using previously.
Pros:
- All the cutouts are spot on and the headphone jack has enough room to easily plug in both sets of headphones I've tried (OnePlus Icons, Beats Studio).
- The front lip of the case hugs the edges of my Pleson tempered glass screen protector perfectly, leaving no gap around the edges.
- The back of the case protrudes slightly above the camera, providing more camera protection than the Tudia Slim case, which was flush with the back camera.
- All the buttons provide plenty of responsiveness and have more of a "click" than they did in the Tudia case.
- Due to the slimmer design, the phone feels much better to hold in this case than the Tudia Slim case I previously tried.
Cons:
- As you'll see in the below pictures, the front lip of the case protrudes just slightly past the tempered glass screen protector (which is 0.33mm thick). So it's safe to assume that with under 1mm of coverage over the bare screen, this case won't protect the screen well against a fall face down.
- The case has a glossy finish all the way around. While I do prefer the front lip and sides to be glossy, I'd rather the back of the case had a matte finish to it. In the summer months it doesn't make much of a difference but when it gets cold, phones with a full gloss finish tend to become more slippery.
Overall, I really love this case and I plan to continue using it for the foreseeable future.

For anyone curious: Case is literally the same as the Pleson clear. I own this in blue and the Pleson clear.
