Video Call - Touch Pro, Fuze Themes and Apps

Hi guys, i can't make a video call. I don't know what are the problem but i have done the setting accordingly. Did i have to go through the hard reset or i miss something else? Please help me for this problem. Thank you
Every time i make a video call, the message reply "3G network is not available". My phone display on the top bar "E" instead of "3G" even though my phone line is 3G. Thank you

hi, its probably because you are in a area where 3G network is not available.instead you have edge (E).try in a different location where the 3g signal is available or try changing the radio.you dont need to hard reset, i would think. hope it helps.

Thank you for your points of advice, but i am in the area where 3G network is available bcoz my friend beside me using touch diamond and shows 3G and able to make a video call. So, i tried to upgrade my touch pro with WM6.5 and plus the latest version of radio rom and it really nice upgrading it but yet still can't reach 3G signal or make any video call. I hv go through and read the forum where there are few guys complaint about 3G and i did not find any points of solution of touch pro problem. Please do help me, thank you.

Solution
Hi, pal!
You need to swtitch your band to 3g.
you can do it via "Wireless networks" Manila settings tab or via
Start->Settings->Personal->Phone.
After you you'll select proper bad, a 3g icon will appear. So you you'll be able to RECIVE video calls.
In order to make a video cal you'll have to switch to videocall mode in dialer.
Try it.

wait you can make a video call with the touch pro?!?!?! how?

Some Touch Pro can make video calls while some does not. For example, my Touch Pro is Asian/European Touch Pro that has front video camera. Unlike some US carrier version that cannot make video calls.

Hmmm, it worked on mine. HTweakC did give an error message when I first started the program because my phone is a Trinity and not a Hermes. I just ignored that message. Then after turning off the HSDPA, I exited the program and did a soft reset by pressing the power button for 3 seconds, this way you make sure the change gets saved.
Excuse my ignorance: why would you want to turn HSPDA *off*? To save battery power?

When HSDPA is on, you can't receive a phone call, it goes to voicemail. There is no problem receiving a call in 3G or GSM Edge mode. I don't know if it is a problem with current systems or if that is the way it was intended to work, but I don't want to miss calls because my phone is receiving an email.

Huh? Is that a local thing?
Here in The Netherlands it is no problem at all. When I'm connected to UMTS or HSDPA (on the Vodafone network) I can be connected simulatinously.
So, I receive pushmail when I am on the phone or when I'm surfing I can be called at the same time.
adodesign and Matterhorn: that must be something to do with your provider. I am on T-mobile in the UK and I have no such issue. In fact I just tested it about 10 times in my house where there is a good HSPDA signal. I started downloading a large file at about 850 kbps and phoned myself - my Hermes dropped from "H" to "3G" and the call came through no problem. Once I hung up, it stepped back up to "H" and the download was not interrupted.
ok... i'm in the US using Cingular and i know they have HSDPA enabled in some markets. i have a HTC P3600 and would like to know how i can tell if HSDPA is enabled. if HSDPA enabled by default how would i know? if i have to manually enable it, what are the steps to activate it? thanks for the advice/guidance...

Well I guess it must be something to do with certain providers. I'm not the only one that has reported the busy problem with HSDPA. I'm going to test it again when I go into France to see if it happens there.
3G framework designed to able receive call while data transmitting. Whenever there is incoming calls, it will automatically disconnect data tranmission. However, this feature needs to be fully support by your local carrier.
In 2G network, you will not be able to answer call while data tranmitting. But you will still be able to answer call if GPRS is connected, with no data tranmisting. This is by 2G design, nothing to do with the carrier.
Hope this helps

Its a network issue.
I remeber reading on 3's Website here that it was an issue and a software Update on their network here in aust in April will fix it.
Speak to your provider and see if they are planning a network update soon.

Thanks for that news, I'll give them a call today . I think that it is likely that I'm not even supposed to be receiving HSDPA on this network. Before this phone was released it was reserved for one of those PC card wirless solutions for laptops, which they charge a fortune to use. The roms that come on the Swisscom Trinity has HSDPA disabled. They'll probably tell me that I'm not supposed to use it .
just few words to say that on the SFR network (france) , when i am connected in HSDPA , i can't receive any calls ... they are rediricted to my voicemail

Thanks for that info. I won't bother to check on SFR now. I'll just leave HSDPA switched off for the time being. 3G is good enough for now. This is an app that will turn off HSDPA http://www.fit4cat.de/thread.php?threadid=263 .
There is an application made for the Hermes that I am successfully using on my Trinity that switches 3G on and off. It also will switch off your data at night to save battery life. It creates an icon at the bottom of the screen for quick network change when you want a fast connection. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35394&d=1173876750 .

EDIT : i've just call my provider ,this behaviour is normal , an upgrade from them is necessary to make calls during hsdpa connection , thanx to tdub !

I have the problem, with HSDPA, on Sfr network, i've got a 3G plan, for access to wap! is impossible, but In Web all is allright, with very Hi speed i ever see on mobile
Is it really HSDPA?
I recently flashed my Orange UK Trinity (SPV M700):
WM6.1.Black Edition by Akeo
Radio Radio 1.50.08.11
For the first time I noted that HSDPA was available and then shortly after that I was missing a lot of call's. 3 out of 5 seem calls to go straight to answer phone. My concern is that this seems to happen mainly with calls from mobiles on the same network (Orange UK) and yet rarely (if at all) with calls from land lines. Is this perhaps a red herring?.
After reading this thread I'm hoping that HSDPA is the cause of the issue and that someone can explain how to disable HSDPA on the Trinity device?
I tried HTweakC 2.1b but no luck. HSDPA remained active.

Have you changed your Radio at all?
Try re-flashing your Radio to another version, you can always flash back to the old one.
Here's the Downloads.
Thanks for a quick reply. But I'm from Pakistan and not using any of the networks mentioned in the download list. Does this affect in any way? Please also guide me which is the best one and can resolve my problem. Lastly, does this erase all data on the device?
Same Problem Is Here In India With The Same Radio.any Solution Please.
could try turning the 3g off, if thats on, i have that issue in the uk, dont miss a call, when in 2g mode
Dont have 3g here in Pakistan.
Maybe you are connected to the internet all the time. 2g network can to only one thing: internet or calls.
I have been using O2 Atom with WM5. Never had any issues with it. However, it is correct that the problem is only when there is an active GPRS/EDGE connection.

Getting tired of this, please help on 3g :(

Did you go into comm manager to make sure 3G is turned on? It appears you are using Dutty's rom, and as such should have posted this question in there. Anyone who could help you would have seen it in there. and then we wouldn't be frustrated that you created a new thread for this. Which is against the SOP around here.
YEs the 3G is turned ON, and i'm using Duttys rom! :/
Can someone help-me? I have searched a bit and dont have found anything

Well i'm not sure what else would cause you not to get 3G, except maybe a hardware defect, if you changed the band, or perhaps there is no 3G in your area.
To answer your question, if it stays 3G for a couple seconds and goes to G that definately means you DON'T have 3G in your area.

Yeah i haved just thinked on it :/ Its badly
Well i will go to my network providor, to see if they resolve my problem!
Thanks for your time, i will report some news soon
When 3G was first set up in the country where I live, something like that would happen. It seemed to be the network not letting me roam into it because I had a GSM pre-3G SIM card. The problem solved itself when the network provider offically "turned on" it's 3G service. So I believe you might be experiencing a network related problem. Even if there is 3G coverage, your GSM account might not be eligible for 3G service or you might need a newer SIM card.

Unreliable phone?

Hi All
I'm not able to make calls / receive calls properly. At least one call out of ten is not connecting at all.
I have tested my operator (SIM-card) and there is no quality issues. I live in city area and even though there is three signal bars on my phone, the Diamond is not able to connect.
Do you have same kind of difficulties to make or receive calls? I'm just wondering do I have lousy cell phone unit or is this common problem?
What is the latest radio sw version? Could it be the fix?
Best Regards,
Illodin
Try turning off 3g so it only uses grps\edge.
My p3600 used to "disconnect" from the network when 3G was enabled.
Not sure if this was a phone or operator bug.
This worked for me...
I had a problem similar to this when I first got my Diamond, literally the next day i was trying to make a call to my Voicemail and it wouldnt connect. I noticed that the signal strength was behaving very erratically. One sec it was 3 bars, then it was none, then the G symbol disappeared and then displayed a cross, then an H appeared, and this just kept on happening.
After reading XDA Developers and looking around the forum, I decided to turn of HSDPA so I no longer have my phone searching for the H. I have 3G and GPRS when needed and this does fine for me.
Just a workaround at the moment as im hoping that a new RADIO version will be released soon so I can turn this on again, but to be honest I dont really need it.
To turn off HSDPA, Goto START and then SETTINGS and then select the CONNECTION tab. Select the first icon, ADVANCED NETWORK and then untick the TURN ON HSDPA box.
I just find this works for me, and everythings fine now.
Hope this helps!
Hi Hallatore and Tomchap
Thank you for your info
I'll test the approuch you descriped. It's good to find that kind of solution.
But I think it is not good enough for me. I bought this device because the fast Internet connection. And without HSDPA it is not fast I think that the device with the price ticket +500€, should work better (parallel) with these features.
//Cheers,
Illodin

...a little problem with the 3G...

....when somebody calls me(with video call) my phone doesn't ring-it only flashes the side lights and the screen lights up-but i can't answer or reject-there's nothing on the screen. When i make a video call-the other side can pick up but it's a regular call(without video) .My "network type" is set to "3G" and HSDPA/HSUPA are enabled.I can't find where is the problem-please help me.
You should say what network you are on. I am on AT&T, for example, and they do not support it. It could be an issue with your provider.
I would be more helpful, but since I can't use video calling I can't give any technical assistance
My service provider is Mtel.I'm sure that they support 3g-because i personally called them to activate the service. So now i'm wondering is there any problem with my phone or is it with the SIM card.
..HELP!..anyone?

AT&T is 3G, but they do NOT do video calling. Contact your provider.
If they do offer video calling it will likely need to be subscribed and paid. The problem is almost undoubtedly not your SIM.
Your dialer on your ROM may not support video calling. If it is not a network thing I would say that is the most likely thing. You could try reverting to standard dialer or trying a new dialer. Also you could try a new ROM that you know supports video calling.
The most likely thing though is that you need to add video calling service to your cell plan.
I've paid and the 3g is activated from my service provider-when i call them for support they say that the problem is not from them-it's all activated.I've updated the firmware to VFE_UK R3AA013 and still no video callig. There 's no 3'rd parity dialer installed.I have "video call" in the menu but still not working. If someone calls me(with a video call)the phone lights just flash and nothing happens-no answer menu, no ringing.
3G is a different service to video calling, you have paid and got 3G but video calling might be extra or not supported.
