i am going to buy one soon all it depends on if i can unlock it

Explain unlocked. The device is not SIM-locked, and the Extended ROM is not locked, just hidden. And there have a been a number of posts regarding access to the Extended ROM, including on PocketPC Dubai and my blog.

Since there aren't any SIM locked devices on the market yet, I don;t think anyone has busted it yet. If you are going to stay on as a T-Mobile customer you should be able to ask them for an unlock code, so you can use it abroad. Provided that it is locked as they have been in the past.

I have an MDA Pro from t-mobile on contract. I have spoken to t-mobile and they will unlock the phone after the contract is 1 month old. for a small fee I think. they unlocked my MDA 3 for £20.
if you want to buy the MDA vario from the netherlands, u must know it is in dutch, and locked. i have one now

The MDA Vario by T-Mobile is SIM locked (for 2 years). I would love to have a program to unlock it. I tried the xdadv_all_unlock tool, but off course that didn't work.. If anyone knows how to remove the SIM lock, give me a shout!

any way i still not tried that.

I'm from the netherlands to, and my brother also bought the T-mobile MDA vario (Dutch). Is there an Unlock tool already?

ok now i have tried the new version of xda-unlock 1.6_138
but no luck the log file says
xdadev_all_unlock started
device=HTC
could not find security key for device type HTC
xdadev_all_unlock failed
So any other idea

Wait no longer I've just unlocked my T-Mobile Vario by using :-

It's worked great and I can now use my Orange SIM with no problems.

Hi, I have the XDA Mini S (a.k.a. HTC Wizard) from O2 Germany. I want to install an english version. I'm worried that if I unlock the device (I guess this is needed in order to install a new OS) I'll lose the old one. Is there a way to back everything up before upgrading so that I can restore it if I don't want to lose my warranty?

OK, OK, so let me get this straight - this crack does what - cracks the bootlader like the tool from imei-check.co.uk or it gets round the country check when trying to install a new OS?

does it really work? how is the battery drain?
They do work. Not sure if they do on the Diamond however. Im sure battery drain is minimal.

Thought this will be use full to all the HTC Diamond users from India. Mine is a 7 months old HTC Touch Diamond Sim Locked with Airtel. I thought of unlocking my phone outside who asked me 700/-.
Just to give a try, I called HTC Support centre asked them to unlocking my phone. Actually it is locked with Airtel for 18 months. To my surprise they instantly gave the unlock code. Now i can use any sim in my HTC Touch Diamond.
Don't know whether i can post this thread here.

i think he rang htc not airtel, basically meaning that anyone can unlock their diamonds (or other htc's) without their carrier being awkward
dont know if this is the right place but i cant seem to unlock my vario III i was looking for a bit of advice with this please

What method are you using? Some people just call their carrier and ask for the unlock.
i used a video on youtube but its not working too well
i sesarched for unlocking mda vario 3 and its like 3rd or 4th down the list i would post the link but i cant...
thing is i kinda want it now as ive broken the screen on my iphone and i hate using the old samsung phone that i am just now so i wanna use the vario till i get the iphone fixed
There should be a method in the Kaiser Wiki, or again you can call your carrier and ask for the code.
Sim or Cid unlock ? Just follow the tutorial and it will do both.
