Flashlight App? - eXpo GW820, GW825 IQ Themes and Apps

Hello,
I am curious if anyone knows how to remap program regisry? I found that the HTC Flashlight APP works on the eXpo, however it is mapping the signal to the Service Indicator LED vs. the camera Flash. Does anyone know how to fix this? If not can someone direct me to a good mobile registry editing software? and or a CAB Editing program?? If you could please let me know that would be great! Thanks for Your Time

fancy. what what light turns on when you run the htc flashlight app? that would be pretty sweet if we could find out how to map the correct led.

The light that turns on now it the green message indicator light that is on the left of the ear piece. (Hopefully that makes sence)
I am trying to use total comander, but it is a pain to navigate through. I would like to get it on my PC so I can look through all the lines with a little less hedache.

Incase anyone misses my other thread, there's a working torch app here

Couple of (I Hope) Easy Tilt Questions

I had an 8125 and now I have a tilt. In making the switch I have run into a few anooying problems that I am sure someone already solved? I have looked all over the forums so if these are answered, could you please point me in the right direction?
1) The ever popular PTT issue. Took me a while but I got it going. It was interesting that there was an incompatibility between the fix and BatteryStatus. Not sure what THAT was about? But it is working now.
Soooo...How do I get button FIVE to appear on my button maps? Neither the stock button feature in the settings nor AEButton Plus shows button 5, the camera button. It would also be kewl to map the OK button on the side, but I am guessing that is too much to ask? *Blink*
2) I have set the brightness at about the medium level (that was a disappointment because I was able to set it to the lowest on the 8125) but somehow the backlight keeps going dim after a time. I have looked all over the parameters to configure this but I can't find it? How do I keep the display from going dim on me? I have the tilt set to sleep at 1 minute and I do not have the backlight going dim at all, so I don't know what else to do?
3) Now that PTT button is mapped, I did what all of you did, I set it to Voice Command. But of course the push and hold I want the convenience of RECORD like I had on the 8125. I have tried all of the shortcuts and such I could find on this site and everyone of them put the voice recorder on my screen but did NOT initiate the record feature. Is there no way to do this on the tilt? I think I remember something about a parameter? /b or something like that? I tried to find it again but I was unable to.
Thanks for your help, guys...

Hi Welcome
Not sure bout your other two questions, but the backlight is easy
Look in Start/Settings/System/ Backlight
You want the second tab, which is for Battery Power.
There you can set the timeout for it.
PS: If you have already tried this, then sorry for pointing it out, but sometimes the obvious solution is hard to find
AEButton Plus
I am able to remap both the OK button on the side and the Camera button with AEButton PLus.
I do have a slight problem that I am looking for a solution and hope someone knows the answer. When I remapped the OK button on the side, the first press still gives me the start menu no matter what I have it set for. The second press does the function I have programmed for double press. But is there anyway to not have it give me the start menu on the first press? I have it as none in the standard WM6 buttons panel. And I have it as lock phone on AEButtonPlus for both the first press and double press. But it always requires double press to make it happen. Any ideas?

[REQ] Service Indicator Light

hey you guys i was just wondering if i could be pointed in the right direction on how to make an app or registry edit to make the D-Pad light up as a sevice indicator light on the touch pro.
id really like to get on board and start developing apps and such for these HTC devices

how to turn off screen instead of dim it?

hi all.. currently using one or two apps such as diamond tweaks, sensorlock etc, but havent found a way to do this.
What i need is a way to turn off the screen completely (ie zero light) instead of dimming it. I know standby will turn it off, but this will also kill my apps.
Is it possible? Any apps/tweaks?
Subscribe, I have searched alot myself to do this but with no success
DiamOff from Montecristoff will fit your request
I use SPB Pocket Plus v4.0.2 which has a screen toggle option. With the Buttons plug in you can use a hardware button to activate the screen toggle.

LED Control for Raphael?

Does anyone know if there is a LED notification control for the raphael, similar to the way KaiserNotifications worked? I would like to be able to set the delay between the circular flashes on the notification to be a shorter display, possibly no delay so that it constantly circles.

The version provided above is NOT for Diamond/Raphael/Blackstone onwards. Follow the link below for the right version, which allowes you to control the LED on Diamond/Raph/BS/etc. Oh, and read the documentation (instructions/readme/manual).

Thanks for this, Ive created the beggingings of a nav sensor effect controller.
Like what Raphel android does when you touch over a nav button it lights up.
Ive got it all to work using the touch screen, but now I just need to convert the nav sensor api calls from c++ to c# which is going to take a while . ill post a vid soon too.
Sounds pretty cool, keep us updated!

Nice idea, though I have to admit that I thought of it... why not use koushik's sensors.dll? saves a hell lot of p/invokes.
Good luck bro

[Q] Disable capacitive button backlights

Any way to do this?
You could probably do this by editing your build.prop file, but make a backup first!
what edit in the build prop would work?
I can't say for sure, but if you feel like reading all of the lines, you probably could.
bump
I would like to see an answer, as well. I don't want to waste battery on illuminating these soft keys. Hopefully someone can figure out what file has the option to disable the lights
Do you have the Root Tools app? I think you can change it in there. I personally like my keyboard and buttons always on because the flickering makes my CDO go crazy and I'd rather always have a backlight when my screen is on than never have it.

I tried root tools and wasn't able to turn the lights off. I have a privacy screen protector, so when the lights are off, the button area looks completely black, flowing well with the screen. I like the look because it makes the screen look bigger
Anyone have any other solutions, preferably a solution where I can go through root explorer and edit some file?

Well, I sat down and read through build.prop line by line and don't think it's in there now. There's a free app in the market place that MAY work. It did for my keyboard backlight. Search something along the lines of "backlight switch", it has a green logo. I'll edit with its exact name when I get my Nand backup done with.

After testing a couple of applications, I found AdjBrightness successful in turning off the lights. The lights stay off, even when the application is killed in task manager so no wasted ram to ensure the lights stay off
In the options menu, simply check off 'Lock off button light"

is there any way to find out what this app does to the phone so we can bypass the need to have it installed?,

This was the ultimate solution I wanted, as well. The same developer has an app called SensorsInfo, which tells all the output values of all the sensors (e.g. accelerometer, proximity sensors, and most importantly, light sensor). Maybe someone can find out how to alter the light sensor's function. Just a thought.
(I wish I could figure out myself, but the D3 is my first android phone, and before that, I had a windows mobile 6 phone. Hoping to learn more and more about Android as time goes on )
After a few days, I realized when restarting the phone, the lights turn back on. They turn back off when the program is opened again. This is a pain, so I hope someone can get a better solution
echo 0 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness turns it off. But when the screen turns off it reverts the value back to 255 or 0, depending on the sensor. The value can't be changed if AdjBrightness' options are set, but it is not a service. No clue how it does it.
