is it possible to downgrade the bootloader (so as to downgrade firmware)? - Legend Android Development

i've upgraded to the 2.x firmware without realising that i can't run the RUU file to downgrade back to 1.3x anymore. (bootloader version error)
the reason for the downgrade is because i want the apac firmware back instead of the wwe.
thanks for advice!

i got the same problem.
can someone please help?

Same problem , want to downgrade my rom but there is bootloader version error.
someone please help...

HTc have designed the Legends bootloader so you can't downgrade it fellas.
Only thing I can recommend for those of you that have accidently installed the newer bootloader is to utilise the new WWE 2.03 ROM to unbrand your device - NO ROOTING AVAILABLE AS YET THOUGH

Rom Downgrade

Hi all,
I own an I-mate Kjam with an official ROM 2.18.9.1 ITA. I would like to flash my kjam with a not official ROM, because they stopped to upgrade this device.
In order to flash the new ROM I should need to CID unlock my device and to do this I should downgrade to the ROM 1.xx.x.x.
I tried to do that but an error occurred and stopped the process. This error come out because it isn't possible to downgrade from this Rom version (this is the meaning of the error message). The same is written in the I-mate official site, "it is not possible to come back from this ROM version".
Is it possible to find out an alternative way the flash my device?
Thanks in advance.

Rom update for a N00B

Hi Guys,
I have just found the (newest) ROM for my Mteor (RUU_MTeoR_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_HTCEUR_SHIP.rar) But I dont have ANY experience flashing my device with new ROMs
Should I just install this ROM and see what happens or do I have to make some extra actions to get this ROM properly installed?
Could anyone please help me (in a N00B language) to get my device updated?
I saw that some versions of the IPL (?) en SPL (?) makes differences, but I don't know what versions I use. What versions of IPL and SPL should I have?
THNX!
the original shipped rom updates depends on your device...
there is a "Code" called CID in the background...
with that upgrade you talking about you can flash only orig. HTC Devices (CID = QTEK_Z12) russian devices have QTEK_A07 ....
you can find that out when you connect with the term tool mtty for example...
but you could also try easiely flashing the shipped upgrade... when all works fine... if you have another cid there will be an error that you cid does not match... then you have to find a matching shipped upgrade..
if you want to flash a upgrade that not matches your cid you have to use sp3devs, DEV SSPL (have to use customRUUpdater) or his 77.7 SSPL (you can use orig. Shipped Updater)
i recommend that you first flash the latest orig. shipped update (1.34/1.38er Radio) after that you have to App unlock the device and then go on with WM6.1 ROM!

[Q] Help installing custom rom

Hi all
Flashed my phone as showed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068
Used latest shipped mango rom i found in the wiki (RUU_Schubert_S_HTC_Europe_5.10.401.04_Radio_5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE),
then my phone updated throug zune
Now I have
os - 7.10.8107.79
firmware - 2250.21.51101.401
bootloader - 5.11.2550.0
My initial intention for doing all this was to enable xapinstall, but being noob I didn't know I have to install custom rom for this.
Now i'm trying to install custom rom but i'm stuck at downgrading my bootlader - using the rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411904
I get ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
Any idea why and what are my options now
Thanks

I recommend you use goldcard method to revert back :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893152&page=49
post 483 is the easiest to do the goldcard and please read all post CAREFULLY and understand it. I follow the goldcard method now i'm on custom rom with the bootloader 1.54
I dont know how much this can help but I'm from Europe too and had difficulties with downgrading the bootloader and installing a custom ROM (originally I just wanted to revert back to 7720 aka downgrading bootloader etc..)
I made a topic about it and got help from a really good Custom ROM builder, so maybe it helps you too!
This topic!
Good luck!

[Q] Nodo but bootlader is 5.11.x.x ? how?

Hi,
I wanted to install that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271118
but it is written that I should downgrade to NoDo . So I had my Nodo back up. I did that using Zune.
my phone is showing version 7.0.x.x which is Nodo but my bootlader version is still 5.11.x.x.
how this is possible? does it mean that even bootlader version is 5.x, if I have nodo, I can continue installing RSPL/HSPL?
EDIT: I have just learnt that Nodo restore doesnt restore the bootloader version.
I am going to downgrade to 4.x with this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362194
but I am wondering, can I downgrade from 4.x to 3.x?
because in order to install that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271118
I need to have SPL less that 4? isnt it?
thanks for your help
Yes if you've already restored your device to NoDo through Zune then you will still have SPL 5.xxx, the restore doesn't downgrade the SPL.
What downgrades the SPL is the re-update process. You have to re-update the device to Mango again. The key here is that when updating to Mango the device will reboot twice, once to downgrade the SPL to 4.xxx and once to install Mango...You have to stop the update process after Mango is installed and before the next update is applied which is the HTC Firmware Update. If that's installed then the SPL is upgraded to 5.xxx again.
After the Mango is installed and the SPL is downgraded to 4.xxx you can the flash a Pre-NoDo/NoDo rom to the device to downgrade the SPL to at or below 3.xxx (which is required to install XSPL = RSPL/HSPL)
One the SPL is downgraded to 3.xxx or lower you can Install XSPL
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16189671&postcount=1
After you install XSPL to the device then you can flash a custom rom of your choice.
thank you i have finally succeeded but it is really a hard process.

[Q] deepshinning is possible with 4.x SPL?

Hi,
I am newbie. sorry for that. It tells me that I need flas a NODO rom first to Downgrade SPL
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271118
I have mango with 4.x version.
1) I think I need to downgrade to NODO first?
2) "flash a NODO Rom first to downgrade SPL" - does flashing Rom means downgrading also? or I need to flas first and then I can only downgrade to 3.x, 2.x, 1.x versions?
3) which SPL version I need exactly? as I know I can flash Rom with 4.x as well. It is not sufficient?
4) Shubert is for flashing or downgrading based on the version if question one is not same?
5) I am in Europe -Germany but I use DE_O2. which version I should use? DE_O2 means O2 branded phones or if I use O2 as provider only. because my card is O2 but phone is not O2 branded.
thanks for the answers.
There is a thread that explains the answer to most of your questions, I think: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295068
Also, the wiki helped me a lot too, so search HTC HD7 on that. I still haven't been able to flash mine (problems with the microsd card reader, maybe).

From what I understand, by downgrading your ROM to an early version, you also end up with a downgraded bootloader. The OLD bootloader is the only one that is capable of allowing you to flash a custom rom such as Deepshining. In order to downgrade the ROM, you need to create a goldcard or use a similar method (there is a method for European devices that apparently doesn't require you to use a Y-Cable/Goldcard, here is the thread on that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411904 but make sure you completely understand your options first).
Read the replies to see if anyone else had experiences with DE_O2.
