Motosense for milestone. - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

Im not sure if the dev is a member of xda
but he had successfully booted a HTC desire rom.
here is the direct link.
http://modmymobile.com/forums/401-m...ge-motosense-htc-sense-ui-port-milestone.html
and video on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhWPP6ddhE8&feature=channel
According to him
Working
- Radio (Calls,GPRS,HSPA)
- USB
- Bluetooth
- Milestone bootup AC charging
- Wireless (Only static IP address.
DHCP is faulty at this stage)
- most apps from HTC and Motorola
(most untested)
- MilestoneOverClock v1.32
- SetCPU 1.54
- Sam2
- apps_installer
- MarketEnabler
- Camera
Not Working
- PINCODE (will not be able to enter any pincode or boot normal)
- GPS (at least not seen it working)
- DHCP for wireless
Update: According to his reply on youtube " i think going to modmymobile (.com) will explain it all..
but yes, right now i got the camera working as well, leaving just GPS not working and pincode setup."
All credits goes to the Dev (dext3r).

Yes! except that these links i have given are made by other dev on another forum.
and was made possible 10-12 hrs ago only.

Looks pretty amazing. I don't know if I have the guts to try that on my Telus Milestone. I would probably lose 3G (but Fido at least has EDGE too). Maybe I'll just wait that out for now.
I wonder though, in another thread I was told:
DAGr8 said:
cmstlist , there is an easy way to retain your baseband just flash the HK sbf , then , copy paste these files and make sure you set the permissions correctly .
Probably safest to do via adb if you dont make sure you reboot ...
for the 3G baseband Hack/Swistch it 5 files from /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default
File_Audio , File_Audio2 , File_GSM , File_Seem_Flex_Tables , generic_pds_init

So perhaps if you want to try Motosense on your Telus Milestone, then you should backup these 5 files (and take note of the permissions) before flashing the nandroid image. Then afterwards if 3G doesn't work on the Motosense image, restore the same 5 files.
I would imagine Titanium Backup might be a viable way here to copy most of your app data from stock to Motosense.
Still... how in the world... was this accomplished?

no offense to all the programmers and the so called 'real hackers'
this was done using methods the above mentioned usually despised and mostly dismissed/ disregard .
common sense , risk , guts and of course a good UNIX understanding
btw there s a fixed 'new' version out at link is at motorolafans.com as well as in page 4 of the thread at M3 ( modmymobile.com)

Can you keep us posted about the developments of this?
since you are the other half of Dext3r in porting the Motosense, i sure hope people here will appreciate it very much.
Anyway, can this be done in a Telus Milestone?

looks very interesting, i know that nexus one. 2.2 is out now, so is it possible to get the 2.2 froyo from there and then load via the same method, this would mean flash and maybe the wifi may work?

[ROM] Supercurio's Android 2.3 Gingerbread Port i9000 - ALPHA V6 - UPDATE 12/23/10!

12/23/10- V6
- Easy root. You only need to install Superuser app from Market.
V5
- Wifi semi-working (tend to crash the phone on Wifi sleep timeout)
- Calls working but no DATA for me (coolya had data, which means: erratic) - voice not tested.
- kind of laggy, but there is a lot of headroom.
- GPS working only by Wifi/Triangulation networking - No satellites.
Fantastic job by coolya who did most of the advancement, for Wifi, baseband and also OneDRAM partitions configuration. Really really awesome work.
We were so lucky the snow forced him to stay at home instead of going to work
This time you can really start to play with the phone, install apps, surf on the Internet all this with Gingerbread! kind of cool
12/22/10- V4
-Buttons fixed thanks to the contributions of xcaliburhands, pawitp, fenfir*
-No need to create some directories manually anymore.
-Kernel available as ClockWorkMod recovery update.zip - be sure you have access to 3 buttons !
*I havent tested this beta so im assuming the buttons are remapped properly for only i9000 using that kernel he posted. but if i read on twitter correctly, all phones have proper keymapping, not sure.
12/19/10 - V3
- SDcard now works
- As internal storage
- As USB storage
12/19/10 - V2
improved pre-init script and mounts:
no more insufficient space
improved dual-boot solution

checked the Nexus out
checked the Nexus out and what I thought was correct. It seemed like a vibrant hopped up on 2.3 and the rest wasn't much different hardware-wise.... Now super-curio has proven this assumption to be correct
....congrats and excellent !!!
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it in the other thread,I don't feel like reading through 39 pages when its already almost midnight and I need to wake up at 7am,but as a temporary solution until we get buttons working,as long as they didnt change anything major in the filesystem, you should be able to change the keylayouts file to make vol up and down remapped to home and back (or menu,search,... whatever you want.) I haven't flashed this yet,so someone please let me know if this works. If I remember correctly keylayouts are in /usr/keylayout/ and there should be a few files in there, one of which is the hardware button mapping, open it in a text editor, there will be a bunch of buttons on the left and their names on the right, find vol up and change it to say HOME,find vol down and change it to BACK. save the file and reboot, that should make them work as what you assigned them to.

[Q] [WIP] ICS on IncS

I've been trying to port over ICS from DHD but no success(ROM doesn't boot, stuck at HTC splash screen)
Since I'm a noob to ROM porting any help would be appreciated.
I followed a simple guide which told me to replace certain files in the boot.img and system folder along with a couple of files more.
I used the ICS rom of DHD and MIUI ICS rom for IncS.

a suggestion for you...try the cm7 rom instead of miui ics build.
thanks for your effort. i will also dig about it but after my last exam. i request everyone who could contribute....its for our phone.
keep trying bro.
If it is simple enough I could give it a try, any moderate to advanced programming I wouldnt have a clue
I have been working on this over the last couple of days and so far my port has touchscreen, audio, RIL, wifi, 2D HW acceleration, notification LED and proxy sensor working (pretty much the same as the DHD port I think). Last I tried the microphone wasn't working for calls but it should be fixed in my new build.
I will post it up in the next couple of days once it's ready to be used. I've been busy with other things so haven't had a chance, plus I don't have access to the developer section yet.

good job. if you need any help just let us know. i will try to look into it today night positively.
Anyone got any guides/tutorials kinda stuff for this?
Nopes, no tuts as such... just small guides....
Any links??
Keen to see how much of your port is working so far as well
EDIT: just tried it myself using a guide in other thread. used the DHD beta 3 and vivo latest CM7 nightly and is stuck at htc splashscreen
EDIT2: didnt sign the rom before, lets try that again...
EDIT3: still stuck on splashscreen
I will post my port up later tonight. I had a chance to do a bit of work on it and it's pretty good right now but the market is broken for some reason.
Once I get that working (and hopefully bluetooth as that shouldn't be hard) then I will upload it.

Looks like a nice birthday gift... ;D
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get market working.. but anyway here is the first Alpha.
It is based on a combination of the Desire HD build and using the kernel by TwistedUmbrella. I have a device setup to work with TwistedUmbrella's ICS tree but I don't know if it will 100% build successfully at this stage (takes forever to build on my 5 year old computer..). All credits go to the DHD guys as they have done basically everything, I've just made it work (or at least, most of it) on the vivo.
Working:
- Hardware 2D/3D Hacks
- Touchscreen
- Bluetooth
- Wifi (not tethering)
- RIL
- Data
- Sound
- Sensors
- Rotation
- Status LED
Not Working:
- Hardware video acceleration
- Tethering
- UMS (use adb instead)
- USB tethering
- Camera
- Google account (so Gmail, Market all not working)
The account error seems to be something to do with xt_qtaguid.. here is the log info:
Code:
I/qtaguid ( 3029): Failed write_ctrl(u -1) res=-1 errno=9
I/qtaguid ( 3029): Untagging socket -1 failed errno=-9
I/GLSUser ( 3029): GLS error: NetworkError
Might be a problem with the kernel, but I'm not really sure. Any help would be nice, I've spent about 5 hours on this and gotten nowhere.

Please don't post bugs reports just yet. This is the first alpha, it's not really a daily driver and I know that there are bugs. Post fixes instead.
Sounds awesome Matt! what are you using to break down and build the rom??
Will give it a go in the morning and post any other feedback
Nice work you got slot further than I did! I will see if I can contribute anything to your build once I have it installed.
The Desire S version is pretty good, and the hardware is almost identical to the Inc S, maybe that would make for a better base?

That's probably not a bad idea. I will see if I have time tonight to try and see if I can get market working by using some of the desire s stuff.. or maybe someone else could try as well.
For anyone that gives it a go, just keep in mind that the button backlight levels are in framework-res.apk, and will need to be recompiled from source or decompiled and edited to get the levels right.

Well so I have checked out TwistedUmbrella's ICS tree and 7x30 kernel, and have made a vivo config for both. I've then used the prebuilt DHD ICS rom and taken out the DHD stuff and put in stuff from the vivo Miui.us rom. Then I've just gone through and fixed the boot ramdisk, built the kernel and put it together for the boot image.
In future I will try building from source, but as I said it takes a very long time for me.

This sounds WAY over my head, all I tried was unzipping CM nightly 146 and the DHD build and changing files, rezipping and signing it. No wonder I got stuck at the HTC splashscreen...

[KANG] CM9 Atrix Test Build by wrldsuksgo2mars

I tried the latest build of CM7 done by the Atrix Dev Team and it is awesome. Very reliable, fully functional, etc. I figured I'd give a whirl to compiling the real ICS version to see what that was like.
CM9 build system with the appropriate Atrix Dev Team repos in place actually spit out a working ROM. There are a number of issues aside from the general preview state of CM9. I figured I would share them in case anyone else was as curious as me. Apparently, the internal atrix dev teams are well beyond these issues already, so kudos.
Probably related to CM/atrix specific stuff
- Camera and finger print sensor don't work
- Launcher crashes pretty often
- Some openGL demos don't seem to work right (or at all)
- No mounting the SD as USB storage
Probably related to the specific gapps package I used.
- Maps crashes after 3 seconds (signal 11 - native code crash)
- Maps wants to update, but it can't (sharedId conflict if you actually remove maps)
- Earth won't run (missing the earthmobile library)
- Google Voice Search bombs (signal 4 - illegal instruction - currently suspecting the native packages might have some NEON instructions that the atrix cpu doesnt support)
- Calendar will not sync for google or exchange. App loads, but the sync service is failing
- Lots of null pointer exceptions for the NFC stuff in the log.
Anyway, this is just a build of the code that's out there, nothing special done by me. It might be useful for a dev phone or something but not for use on a real day-to-day device. Obviously it doesn't have the google apps embedded in it.
http://www.multiupload.com/XT9QPPQYF1 thanks xploited for uploading
md5: 670068584eb94bf1d660c0450815ad0d
Personally, I had trouble going back to CM7 afterwards, my clockwordmod backups were screwed up (bad boot.img? cross-linked files on the SD card) and I had a very hard time getting back to the good ole working state. Ultimately, I had to restore the partial backup and then reflash the CM7 image + gapps.
So, if you were curious what building a random repo on the web and installing it on your phone would do, then feel free to try and lose all of your data. There are no updates/support for this, etc. It's just a curiosity... what is the state of this stuff right now?
BTW... I am back on CM7/Atrix now which is AWESOME!!!!
Source Code Links:

Not sure how the dev team would react to this ..we do not want any bricked phones because of this ..there maybe some experimental dangerous code in there in those sources as of now ..not sure though
Hmm... figured since I spent quite awhile getting a build set up, it might be worth sharing. I am happy to take down if it is inappropriate.
Well I am not the best person to answer that ...but yeah thanks for your work.
Eh, I wouldn't be mad about it, but I think it needs more caution. I would just wait. As you say, it kindof screwed with a lot and wasn't very usable, so why flash it? Maybe ok for someone who wants to look at the code, but I wouldn't flash it.
Awesome news man. Thanks for being a lab rat and giving us an update.

[rom] miui 1.12.2

This rom is based from zukriaksah's miui 1.12.16. His had a good foundation just some issue. I have made some changes to it and so far things are working (keep in mind that this has not been tested for a little more than 2 days).
Link https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6a1DYyFKfu1YjI4MDg0YTEtZGExOC00ZGZkLTg4MGEtMmM0Y2ZjYTQwYzlh
(sorry file are on work pc and this is the only way that I can get them up...so if some one can move to a better site for downloading...pls feel free to do so)
you will have issues with wifi on this rom - the work around that I used it to load cacingkalung's modded version of the sd kernel...get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20326475&postcount=240
had to change the build.prop this phone keep rebooting with some of the files that I had to switch out. I used files from tj and issac.
usb and headphone issues are gone (so far)
added the miui 4-way reboot (hold power button for options)
the fm radio that is in the rom fc's (wish someone can fix this..I am at a loss, I know that it has to be a driver issue but I have no clue which one have been searching for weeks it seems to correct this...I really miss the radio)
added some init.d tweaks...these are found in the various forums here on xda
you might have to load script manager to get them to work (I load this anyways so I dont know if it is needed)
what I added to the init.d:
10cpu - sets the cpu values and govenor
11 iosched - set i/o scheduler
both of these you do not need if you use setcpu or other program like it...I just dont like to have these loaded they take up space and memory.
80netspeed - internet speed hack (helped on mine)
97ks - some kernel mods - helps rom run smoother in my opinion
98kt - internal task killer values
you dont need these you can remove them...play around with the settings you might be able to tweak the rom more to you liking...these are the values that worked best for me
I dont have much of a clue on the battery life yet...have had phone up and down so much that I have not let it go threw my daily pace
So far things seem stable...still no HDMI, dont know if we will ever have this...I am not that good with dev have look at other roms but if the drivers aint right it wont work
I also use force2sd to move the programs to the sdcard to free up the internal memory...everytime that I have tried to include apps2sd thing go wrong..this way works for me so I am not going to worry about it
you will probably get unknown for the carrier...if you know your spn values you can edit it and the name will show up...there are progams in the market that will fix it...other have had luck with out needing a program...In the miui forums they have miui extra setting and they say that you can use it to change the carrier name (never tried)
make sure that you do a system wipe before installing....I dont know what issue you will get if you dont

Please read carefully... As they say, they are trying their best to make the hdmi and fm working... please be patient and hope they can overcome the problem. And to be honest, its not an easy task... So, just wait and give the developers some time to fix it.

97ks - some kernel mods - helps rom run smoother in my opinion

emt,
I will look at the files and see what I missed for the bluetooth. Sorry I dont use it so I didnt test it.
hey COWSGO..... really thanks for the this beautiful ROM.
quite smooth ...... experience .....
really happy with the ROM.
next time when you update the ROM with Bluetooth wish following update also ....
1. Camera if possible (Front)
2. Time should be at center of status bar like what you did with 1.12.2
3. FM if you able to repair ....
enjoy your holidays .....
Dont know if anybody has gps issues or proximity issues....I did....this is what I did to solve this
use root explorer goto system\lib\hw and rename two files to .old
the files are gps.fb0.so and sensors.fb0.so
then goto settings click programs and goto call settings and turn off enforce proximity (what ever the option is under use proximity sensor
reboot....after I did this the sensor works with incoming and outgoing calls and the gps locks in under 30 seconds. used gps status from the market to confirm...dont for get the you might have to edit the gps.conf file in system\etc (I think)...if you didnt edit this file after you loaded the rom then it will be set for north-america.
dont know why this worked....has to be a issue in the files...when I get more time I am going to decompile them to see what is different

I'm sure the community here respects all of the work that you do. My post in the other thread was not intended to "get you in trouble". There are a set of rules that every user has to follow, regardless of their contributions to the community. That being said, when I was a newer member, I accidentally broke the rules a couple of times (nothing major) and didn't want the same to happen to someone else. (I never contacted @Divine_Madcat about your other thread, in case you were thinking I did.)

Yep i was tinking to that... so I'm also sorry. The thing is i spent a lot, lot of time on this port, and Divine_Madcat didn't even give me the time to update the first thread with the needed files/informations and ignore my pm which was an offense to me. Well i have to complies to the rules too but was a little chocked on how the thread got mad. Well, let's hope it won't be the same here. So that said i have no problem with you !

While i am sorry you are upset, it was not a slight at you at all. While i do try to keep an eye on XDA while at work, my job does come first and foremost, and i was unable to handle anything here yesterday (what can i say, 12 hour work days suck). As it was, i have literally nothing against you; to be frank, the report on the thread was the first i had even seen.
From my perspective, we had a placeholder thread, which is not allowed, so it was closed. I fully intended to reopen it, but gave my reasons above...
Anyway, i do wish you luck, and i really dont have any ill will to you...
So....
Do we have unlocked bootloader or a root exploit for amazon firmware 4.5.2 soon? And do you have plan to release another for Apollo?
Thanks

Nobody knows. But there are a few people working on "unlocks" (at least booting an unsigned kernel). Maybe also jcase releases his unlock (which I doubt because of legal issues).
Hi!
I have rooted Kindle Thor. How do I install this nice piece of software?
Like the Nexus rom? Currently I am on 3.2.7...

Mmmmmhhh
Than this rom is basically usless
Who has a 4.5.2 Base and Rooted??? I would do it if I'll get the tools, no fear of a brick
Too bad. But Nevertheless Many thanks for the work and effort!

There are a few Users which do have an unlocked Bootloader, this Rom is only for these Users, as stated in the first Post.
I decided to make the rom available in case i loose interest in this device (or if i ever die soon). This way when (if) a root exploit is available then you'll be ready to use it.
Ok... So if there IS a possibility to unlock the actual fireos, please give some hints, instead of publishings Roms that one or two users can install, the rest is completely helpless...

Sharing hundreds of hours of work is helpless/useless for you ?
You know what ? I actually spent the whole day on porting cm-10 to current exploitable kernel for YOU :/
Everybody chill , @openWeb74, i see your point @Cpasjuste , first let me thank you for all your work, I'm pretty sure its a great Rom!
What openweb said was that maybe we should concentrate our efforts in unlocking the bootloader so even greater support can come.
Unfortunately we, the rest of us common mortals (with locked bootloaders) cannot use it.
As you said, this would work if somebody would release the bootloader-unlock , so lets play the waiting game...
The thing is I'm a common mortal like you :/ Like its said on first post, unfortunately, I do not have the tools nor the knowledge to reproduce the unlock, so I share what I can.
I really have to say sorry, if you dont know how to reproduce the hack... Mea culpa. It sounded like the hack is known, but cant be made public because of copyright issues or something like that... Then we have to wait. Nothing is secure when the right person gets a hdx... I have to say, that my actual hdx was rooted with towelroot, even easier than the nexus (less button combinations ) so i didnt expect amazon to be such a **** with newer firmwares.

Sorry for nagging you about it, but — genuinely asking — how did you do it on your device in the first place?
dear Cpasjuste, thanks for your great work, and how to install this Rom ? I am newbie, so..
OK... So you are a newbie in reading too?

I may eventually move to another tablet as I'm loosing interest in this device (because cm is working fine [emoji14]). Would someone be interested to get my device (not for free )?
