Stil having OTA problem... - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

All nexus one users got OTA update???????
im a at&t device user, using in other country (HongKong) and i tried to get OTA update on ERD79 and also Stock EPE54b.. installed stock recovery too..
stil didnt get any OTA notifications.. even typed *#*#checkin#*#*
is it only me having a problem?? i just want to know if i unlock bootloader,
cannot be getting OTA notifiction?

is there any reason why you cant use one of the many manual updates posted on this site? none of them should require unlocking the boot loader

Yes probably can update thru manual update.
i just wanna know why OTA doesnt show up on ma phone since 2weeks ago.

The OTA is gradual over about a week or so. They release to a certain group of IMEI numbers each night so they don't get server overload. I wasn't able to check in and get the OTA but I was able to download the zip file and install manually without issue.

[Q] OTA Question

Hey guys so I searched the OTA questions posted in this forum but I didnt find what I was looking for.
I have an unlocked bootloader. I recently replaced my custom recovery with the stock one and then I flashed the ERD79 stock rom. Now, from what I read this procedure restores your phone to the original shipping image and therefore I should be good to receive OTAs, right ? But I didnt see anything pop-up for a day..system update said my phone is up to date. So I manually flashed the latest stock rom which I believe is FRG83. I dialed *#*#2432546#*#* and it said checkin succeeded. I did the same thing when I flashed ERD79 and I got the same response but I never received a notification for an update.
Im wondering if I will get an OTA for the latest gingerbread update or will I have to manually flash that too? Im wondering if unlocking the bootloader disables OTAs. Didnt google say people who unlock their phones will still receive OTAs? Do I have to do more to enable OTAs?
Thanks a bunch!
Nobody seems to get OTA's at the moment, no problem with doing it manually and having an unlocked bootloader has no baring on your ability to receive them.
Ok I just read somewhere that the servers are down Hopefully that is the reason why I didnt get anything. Thanks for the quick response

Question in regards to 1.29.xxx OTA?

Man after a fun 2 hours getting my phone back to stock, now I'm wondering, does the 1.29.xxx update even apply to my particular device? Mine is an AT&T, with version 1.26.502.12. It was until i used the RUU to regain stock and lose root. But everything i've scoured mentioned updates to 1.29.401 and an update to the Dev version. My version isn't even listed of the RU variants list
http://xda4.androidrevolution.nl/db_mirror/ROMs/RUU_Variants.txt
So, would anyone explain to me, WTF? Is the 1.29 update not meant for my phone? I've run the device updater several times and it says my phone is up to date. I guess I'm asking primarily because I read that this update helps fix some issues like the responsiveness of the back button.
You have to wait till att approves the update, some carriers can be very slow with approving updates. You cannot install updates which are not meant for your carrier, but since you are already unlocked you can just install a custom rom and enjoy the updates all the same.

Upgrading AT&T HTC One from 4.3 to newest 4.4.3 OTA while out of country

Hi All,
I'm looking for some advice here on how I can get my HTC One up to the newest Android version without wiping any data or installing any roms, unlocking, etc.
Currently I am living in Germany and using a SIM unlocked HTC One on the Congstar (T-Mobile) network. I was able to wipe the phone and use a RUU to get it from 4.1.2 up to 4.3 but for some reason I can't get the OTA update to work with my current SIM to get it from 4.3 to the newest version.
I have a second HTC One which has been my main phone here in Germany for the past year, and I have been using Congstar, a company of T-Mobile, as my provider. Back a few months ago when 4.4.3 was released, the update was pushed to my phone no problem and my old HTC One is currently running 4.4.3
The current phone I just started using was on a brand new install of 4.3, which I put in the SIM card, setup the APN settings and it was working fine. I went to do the update, and nothing happened as no updates were found.
I will be back in the states here in a few weeks, so as a last resort I was going to stop by AT&T with a SIM card from AT&T from someone who is a customer and ask if they can automatically push the new update to me, by then perhaps 5.0 - I have read this is possible. Does this seem a feasible "backup" option to wait and do?
In the meanwhile, Is there a way that I can somehow push this update now? It seems that it worked on my last phone automatically, but I can't get the new one to pickup this OTA update even when they are both unlocked.
Many thanks for your help.

Thank you for the reply - I'm looking to avoiding flashing and trying to push OTA because I've tried everything and can't get this PC to recognize the device via USB... Also, it's the only pc I have available at the moment.

if you ever unlocked bootloader you will not get the update and you will not be able to update manually. even if you lock the bootloader you will never get OTA updates ever again.
but if you want to update you can by doing this.
first flash .raw full ROM (I cant post link to download it but if you Google you might get it). keep that file in your external SD then go to droidboot and do a factory reset from there go back to droidboot and select SD download your phone will automatically flash stock ROM and your phones bootloader will get locked.
then you can update manually.

unrooting and locking the bootloader will not help. if you ever unlocked bootloader you phone get banned from getting OTA update.
the only safe way to update now is to flash .raw ROM and then update by full ROM from Asus.com
Flash raw file first and then Download and update by full zip file.... update to 7.4.4 L its the best

if u not getting update from ota
going to asus.com and down load zip file put it in phone and update ( make sure ur bootloader is locked)

[Q] No system updates?

I was running Lollipop 5.0.2 on my Moto G (2014) XT1068 (India) and wanted to downgrade to KitKat. I followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...dows-tool-moto-g-2014-xt1064-restore-t2957167
And although the downgrade has been successful, when I check for updates, I get a message that the phone is up to date and no updates are available whereas it should be telling me that Lollipop is available for download. Why is this happening?
Thanks in advance
there is a app that in need to be clean cache and data
Google Service Framework
After reboot and try to check for update.
Try that.
Do you wanna go back to L?
I don't want to go back to L but I might when 5.1 comes out for my phone.
Where can I find that app you are talking about?
you dont know how to clean data and cache for a app
settings/apps/all
:good:
Oh I didn't understand your post. I thought you meant dalvik cache. I'll do that. Thanks

I did as you said and cleared the data and cache for Google Play Services Framework app and restarted my phone but it still says that my device is up to date... What do I do now?

That happens, or the ota part of the rom is bug, or the ROM you using don't have update.
when update comes out, you search ways to flash the update. The update will come in a flash way before it release to all via OTA.
Ohkk... Once I flash the update the problem should go away right?

I went for this ROM but it removed TWRP from my phone for some reason. And it's not telling me that there are system updates either.
Okay, so I read somewhere that the phone doesn't receive OTA updates if the device is rooted and it has a custom recovery. So I used SuperSUs Unroot feature to unroot the phone and then flashed the stock recovery to replace TWRP.
Now the phone isn't rooted, and it has stock recovery. But even now when I'm checking for updates it's telling me that my phone is up to date. If it matters, my bootloader is still unlocked but that shouldn't prevent me from getting an OTA update right?
Someone please reply...
you are confusing too much things.
like i told you, or you have a bug rom a rom that can reach to OTA because some one has change or remove the part of the ROM that receives the OTA, the OTA is the update... Or you cause a bug on it by mistake or by a app that you installed.
If you have a stock original ROM from Motorola it must received a OTA. Don't mare if you have bootloader unlocked, rooted or custom recovery it doesn't change the habitability of the device receive the OTA.
But if you received a OTA in the stock ROM that you change the recovery and rooted it, and after the download click on update, the phone will turn off and try to update, but it will not have success and you end with a brick phone.
so dont confuse the ability to received the OTA with be able to install it that are two separated thing.
Or you have a bug ROM or you dont have a stock ROM that is the way you dont receive ota.
If you don't wanna update, why bother with update????
When the update comes it will came to very little number of users, before is released to all user's via OTA. So unless you are part of Motorola tester club you don't receive the OTA when is available. But some one in that grup probably will share the update here at XDA that you will be able to flash. Don't mare the rom you are the flash will contain all the ROM and any one will be able to use, of course the right ROM file for the right device.
every update that moto did is now available here so don't worry now when it comes we all will have it.

Actually, I had download this firmware build earlier: KXB21.85.27 but this build hasn't received the Lollipop update, so I downloaded and flashed this firmware build: KXB21.85.23 and as soon as I booted up my phone I got the OTA notification for my phone. Problem solved.

I thought so too but a simple Google search told me that you can't install OTA updates even if you are running original stock ROM if you have a custom recovery. You MUST have Stock Recovery and only then you will receive the OTA update. Your bootloader can still be unlocked though.
