Which screen protector for the Tmo HD2 do you think is best ,and why?
I have ghost armor on mine. Doesn't scratch or peel. Had the entire phone wrapped in it.
I have a cheap static-cling screen protector on my HD2 from Ebay from China. Honestly, I don't have any quarrels with it. It's just a piece of plastic. It's meant to be the thing to take the scratching so why spend a ton of money on it? Anyways, static-cling protectors may be a bit hard to put on but once you learn how to put them on you can get a perfect bubble-free protection even if you reapply them. Overall, it does it's job and protects my screen.
I use the InvisibleSHIELD from Zagg.com. It's custom cut to fit your entire phone, including the back and sides. Has a lifetime warranty, will replace due to damage for free. Made using military technology. So far so good I like it. If you apply it properly you can't even tell it's there...no bubbles, it doesn't ride up on the corners over time. I am close to replacing it because it has taken a few scratches and rips.
It also "self-heals"...had a huge gash in it one time when it stuck to a rubber key chain I had in my pocket in 95 degree Florida humidity but in 24hours I could barely even tell where it was anymore. Touch screen responsiveness seems the same...

I'm with you! I have Zagg's Invisible Shield for everything I own. Its doing a great job on my phone. I also have it on my laptop, and after a couple of months, I had it sent and replaced for a new one without any problems...

Just because a company uses terminology like that in order to sell their product to you, to get you to pay $15 for a little piece of plastic that costs them about 1 cent, doesn't mean that it means anything.

I have the zagg shield for my tmobile hd2 and i absolutely love it.. i would never waste my money on some crappy screen protectors from any retail store or site and the best thing is that there manufactured with a lifetime warranty.

I have a Zagg for my HD2 but have never used it. I didn't pay attention when I bought it and when I received it and realized it was the wet application type I decided I would just ruin my phone if I tried to put it on. Plus it's hard for me to imagine being without a phone for 12 hours while it dries.
Did you apply it yourself?

I had one that i put on myself. The trick to not having to wait 12 hours is placing it under a desk lap. It under for about 30 minutes and was on. It came our perfect, and warm.

Good idea.
I use the one included with the otter box, people don't know its there unless I tell them and I keep the otter box for when I go camping or plan on getting really drunk : P its never effected screen response and had been on for 3 weeks with no peeling or anything so no complaints from me!

The Nexus 4 is very likely to be my next phone, replacing my old HTC Desire. Anyway, I have one big concern about the new Nexus.
I have had a LG Device once. It also had a silver-shiny bezel, just like the nexus 4. And exactly this bezel attracted scratches like a magnet. You could barely look at it without producing a scratch. It was kind of like the backside of the old iPod touches (if you know what I mean).
Sounds weird, but this is my biggest concern about the phone till yet. I don't want to have a phone which is scratched all over immediately...
Just my thoughts, anyway....

seriously.Probably sounds a bit crazy, but I have had a really worse experience with this. The mentioned older LG device with the metal bezel looked really awfull after few weeks of usage (and I really took care of where I put it etc.)....like it's been used for a few years already...

don't think that'd work out for the front of the device...but even if, I'm not a fan of cases at all, why should I buy a many-hundreds-of-dollars/euros-device and than put it into a case for a few dollars/euros? My old phone survived my jeans also pretty well, the screen hasn't any spotable scratch - and it isn't even gorilla glass or anything comparable...
Perfect example of one of the many things duct-tape can fix.
I have no idea how easily the Nexus 4 will scratch. Guess we'll find out.
I don't think its metal, looks like plastic with chrome paint, but yes if metal it can get dings like the iPhone5.
I've also read that it's a rubbery feeling plastic which doesn't seem like it's scratch too easily.

platic with that chrome paint thing is even worse, it's just like butter. Metal is far better in that kind of stuff, the Desire's frame is some kind of painted metal, too. Got 2 noticable scratches in there, though, but that's not too bad for like 2 and a half years of daily usage with no case...

the bumper is slightly raised on the front and in the back to help protect. not guaranteed. i hate cases as well, however, i think i will be giving a bumper a try.
Yeah, I don't like the chrome ring either. My old Vibrant had it and it looked terrible after a couple of months. The paint started to chip and made the phone look really old. Plus it's kind of an outdated design cue. The N4 would have looked much more sleek without it.
Even in Google's promo shots the ring looks black, not silver. Looks much nicer, IMO.
You could always paint the silver ring black like many nexus 7 users have done

I'm not a fan of the tacky fake chrome, but I'll probably just get a case/bumper for it anyway.
Wait to see how it is constructed, I normally just let my phones get scratched on their cases and then when come to selling just buy the parts and replace them, it's always as cheap as buying cases.
Bump for awareness. Someone please reply if you know about the quality/material/durability of the bezel. The strange thing is that they designed the bezel like that, to make sure the screen is safe, when put down. One would think that they made it out of a durable material/finish.
Edit: I'm quite sure that it's impossible to replace parts, when damaged. Since the battery door is sealed, I reckon you're f****d when you drop your phone and the bezel gets scratched up. This could be an issue to me, for sure.

It looks like the back cover is held on only with two screws. Standard screws not some proprietary kind. So in theory (without actually having a device to work with) it should be possible to easily replace the back cover assuming you found a new one. The back cover on this phone has all sorts of circuitry built into it so it might be quite difficult to find a new one.
It is also possible that the warranty sticker is on the bottom of that back cover, so when you take it off you rip off the warranty sticker. We will have to wait for a teardown to see if this is the case.
What we dry screen protector users have been waiting for!!!!!!
All the Dry screen protectors until now have been cutting it short around the edges due to the
curved screen of the glass. NOT ANYMORE!!! LOL!
The Realooks 3D curve SP gets pretty darn close to the edges. Not so much that you can't use a case
The only cut outs are for the home button and speaker up top.

I've been using the phone with the S-pen and haven't noticed much scratching at all.
Since the GN2 utilizes the s-pen, I don't like to use wet screen protectors as they leave marks.
The screen protector is optically clear and I didn't notice any rainbow effect.
Finger prints yes, but any clear SP will leave fingerprints. But easily wiped off.
The SP is up for pre-order and should be shipping out by this weekend.
I searched amazon and looks like pre-orders are going on now.

Looks good but the tech Armor sp I had also fit like these. As soon as I put on the diztronic tpu it peeled right up. Not case friendly.

For one thing it says : PLEASE NOTE: This is a PET material Crystal Clear screen protector that is designed to protect flat part of Galaxy Note 2 / II screen - smaller than entire screen.
So it doesn't cover your ENTIRE screen. Only a portion of it (the flat part).
While the 3D one in the OP states that it molds to the screen (+/-)

The difference is that the curved 3d covers more of the screen. Closer to the edge of the screen.

So this review is the exact same review on the Amazon site. You are the vendor, no? It sure looks that way by the review name used on Amazon. I don't mind a vendor hawking their wares on XDA, but I DO mind not saying as much in the post (making it look as though you are a regular user that is excited about the product or another satisfied user).

I am in no way making money off of this.
I do reviews and like any other reviewer and we get to a point that allows us to receive items beforehand.
I'm a total OCD gadget freak and if i get a product that I love, then i have no problem sharing with friends on XDA.
If i get a product that I don't like, then i'll share my feelings.
I've been really happy with this company. That is all. If i was the vendor, i would follow the rules on XDA regarding that.

as far as proximity sensors being affected, i have not noticed any proximity sensor issues.
when i go outside, screen brightens up. when i make a call and bring it up to my head, screen goes dark.
as far as hardness scale, i have no way of testing that. lol

I guess this quote from the Amazon page may answer your question - The surface strength 3H coating will prevent everyday scratches to the LCD screen. I presume that refers to the hardness.

So your relationship is one that allows you to get special perks, such as free stuff to review. Biased or not, any viewpoint may be better than no viewpoint.
I'll give this one a shot when it comes out. I wasn't a glass protector, but been reading sometimes the adhesive makes them impossible to remove without lifting the screen. I love the feel of my SGP, but hate how small it is compared to the screen

I'll probably buy this. I've used Realook in the past on various phones and I've been very happy with the results. My last phone had the same one on it for over 2 years, and it looked absolutely gorgeous like the first day I put it on.
Spigen for me. I'm not sure if I like the protector covering the sensors/camera, case curling it, etc.
Just my thoughts.

Was a very light fall, one that my N5 has survived tons of times. From my pants pocket straight to the cafe floor. Screen is shattered. Very surprised and disappointed by quality of the N6.
Anyway, if I didn't get the insurance with the carrier (which I didn't), am I SOL? Is Google themselves offering a free replacement? I heard some news that they were doing that for the Nexus 5?

first, why are you disappointed in the quality of the N6 since you dropped it? that's not a quality issue.
second, you may be in luck with google's one time replacement program if you call them. it was pretty widely reported about them doing it for the N5, but i've heard a few blurbs about them doing it with the N6 too. never hurts to call and ask.

The Google one time replacement was only for phones purchased from the Play Store.
People have had this problem in the past and Motorola was willing to fix the shattered screen for ~$200.
Also agreed with Lucke here, not sure why a person would be disappointed in the quality. Its the user's fault for dropping their phone and not protecting it with a case. Yeah its not as durable as phones in the past like Nokia phones but thats the trade off you have to pay for having a big screen.
All the Nexus 6 fanbois need to take it easy (I am a N6 fan too here). I have been around enough smartphones including past Nexi to say that a light fall from pocket to floor should not shatter the screen. Yeah, that's a usability and 'quality' issue. More of a product design issue if you want to get technical.

Did you purchase it at full price using a credit card? If so, check to see if you card offers protection. I know a couple of my cards will cover theft/accidental damage for the first 6 months, and will offer extended warranty (not for accidental damage) for 1 year after manufacturer warranty expires.
One of my other cards will cover damage to the phone as long as I'm paying my cellphone bill using that card.

It really depends on how it falls. If it falls face down from a few feet, directly onto a stone, there isn't any screen that won't break. A tempered glass protector may help in those scenarios.
If it falls at an angle, it may survive. If it falls almost vertical, again, the sceen will likely shatter from the side impact.

You're not SOL - thankfully you asked here on XDA, so that entitles you to a free brand new N6 replacement! Just go ahead and email Moto and link them to this thread and you'll get your new replacement phone shipped overnight!

seriously dude, you dropped the phone and you are calling it defective because the glass broke? gorilla glass is not shatter proof like so many people seem to think, it's hardened glass that is scratch resistant (not scratch proof).

Lordy. And the n6 has a far larger piece of glass in it than any of those devices. Bigger pieces of anything like glass will break more easily.

it's not kicking a man while he's down... he's calling it a defect because his glass screen broke when HE dropped it...
it's similar to me calling my car defective after crashing it into a wall. what did he really think was going to happen?

haha, yeah, I am very surprised by the "people" on this thread. I didn't expect this sort of crowd on XDA, I thought people here were nice. What I asked in the thread wasn't anyone's opinion or advice on how to treat my smartphone. I asked for specific content on Google's and Tmobile's policies in this regard.
To all the other fanbois up above, listen up. Yeah, a poorly designed product is one that shatters from a small fall. To the genius above who used a car analogy, yeah, if your Mercedes S-class breaks in half because you nicked your bumper while backing up in your garage, you should rightfully be upset. Anyone who knows product design 101 will know that designing a $700 smartphone that doesn't survive a small fall is poor design. No, I am not *****ing since I dropped my phone and broke it. I actually really like the N6 and would get another one. Realizing a design flaw doesn't mean you can't appreciate all the other good things about the device.
I already called Google and Tmobile, and one of them hooked me up so my replacement phone has already been shipped.. If not for the fanboi attitude on this thread, I would have been happy to share the information. But no thanks.

Good to hear you got it worked out.
1) We do not support or talk about insurance fraud on XDA.

I just did a video review of liquid screen protectors.
No you didn't. A review would have actually used the product and presented some sort of conclusion on it's value or utility.
I'm not a physicist, but I have my doubts that this kind of product can provide any impact protection. Possibly it can help protect the glass from scratches as a sacrificial layer, but in order to provide long-term benefits there needs to be a way to remove and reapply the coating when scratches or scuffs occur, and I see nothing to explain how this can be done.

My thoughts exactly. This stuff actually function like a ceramic coating that's used in vehicle paint (I'm a pro detailer). That's exactly what we call those coatings, "a sacrificial layer." Vehicle speaking, a rock could hit the paint coating and not damage the paint but the impact could still leave a dent or slight impression in the metal. This screen coating will probably be good to protect against minor scratching but the right impact could still break the screen.
It's tough it here. We spend all these hard earned dollars (it whatever for various countries) for the devices and expect superior protecting for them. I just don't think it exists yet.

I'm back... Firstly, I did put it on my old note 4 and it did not work at all.. But I no longer have that note 4... Like all of us we are all looking for the perfect screen protector and as I said in my review I didn't know if it worked. Sorry guys, not I don't have the resources to scratch test the phone at a 1000 per pop.
But I witnessed 1000s of people having this type of liquid on their phones at $30 a go.. My objective was at least to let potential customers do more research.. And as I mentioned on other forums the claims are a complete mixed bag some say they have fine scratches some don't even on amazon ... I just don't know... Maybe one of you can do a scientific scratch test.

I remember that spray on grip tape... It sucked wasn't worth the can it was in:good::good::good:
I have wondered what people think of these chemical type liquid applications The cricket store here tries to get me to 40$ a pop and guaranties my screen not to break or they will replace it....
Im like yea noooo....
Im sure it will still break and Im sure when the time comes you will hassle me on whatever guaranty you have made

Not on a nearly 300$ plus screen no scratch tests for me

Yup I hear ya, I rather go with a cheap plain ol PET screen protector anyday over gimmics like this one posted. What a joke. Actually that's what I'm using on my Note 8, no fancy glass screen protector due to the curved screen & case compatibility.
