Extended Battery; Same form factor - HD2 Accessories

Is there a battery available for the HD2 with greater capacity than the stock unit, that fits in the same battery slot? I'd like to upgrade without having to replace the back cover or use a bulky addon.

I purchased an Andida 1600mAh battery on eBay about two months ago. It has a six (6) month warranty, and fits my HD2 US version without any problems.
So far, I've been happy with it. It lasted through an entire round (4.5 hours) of golf yesterday powering the GolfLogix GPS application, and for me it routinely lasts several hours or more longer than the T-Mobile US stock battery.

I got one of these and it lasts longer than the stock battery by quite a while, but again ebay so buyer beware ....

Can you direct me to a link to the battery?

Sorry, I can't provide a link. eBay only shows purchases won over the past 60 days, and I bought my battery prior to that. However, I did save the battery's packaging. The website for Andida is:
http://www.andida.hk
The ID number for my battery is: GB/T 18287-2000, if that helps.

There is a link to one in my post above it works well ....

Is 1600mAh the largest battery available without changing the back panel?

Screen shots of the "official" extended battery with the kickstand make it very unappealing. Before I switched out of my Dash, I bought a replacement battery at Radio Shack. Same size, but better specs - 1100 mAh instead of the stock 900 mAh. Nice improvement. Been checking RS online, nothing yet.

Biggest I have seen, but that does not mean there is not one out there somewhere ....

its hard 2 find qaulity batteries with the same size, but better specs...

I went to the ebay link for the 1600mah battery (that the WATCHER posted)... when I looked at the pic posted for the auction it shows a 1450mah battery.. can you confirm that you received a 1600mah battery (PICS PLEASE?!!?)

The one I got is a 1600mah, looks just like that one, except it says 1600mah

i also purchased the same andida battery from hong kong via ebay. increase in battery life was noticeable but not by that much. however, the battery is quite a steal in terms of pricing considering you need a backup or second battery.

I have a different perspective on these extended batteries: I actually prefer the one that adds to the overall device thickness! I have always been concerned about these very thin devices - you can easily crack the display. An extended battery gives the HD2 more robustness.

Not really, its more heavier now. Meaning, it can have more potential to break lol.

Just purchased the 1600 from ebay, free shipping. Will let you all know the result.

Let me know if you find one.

Just ordered the 1600 one to, will let you know how it works out.

Eager to read your results with this one, just might be the battery I go with.

Only took 7 days to receive. Fits fine, works fine. After 2-3 charging cycles (as was stated on the eBay page), I'm clearly getting more charge time from this battery than the stock battery.
Plus, you get a nice little tin case
10 bucks, free shipping, you can't go wrong.

Good Battery

here is a good one, i will probably be ordering.
i mean SEDIO is really pricey, these well are 100 mah less, but like 1/6 the cost..
http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-For-HTC...ryZ15034QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
seidio makes good quality batteries... personally, i would not consider the one in the link you posted because, if battery issues arise, you're pretty much stuck with the battery. conversely, with seidio, if the battery issues arise, i can send it back for a replacement (as long as it's within the warranty period). i've been using the Seidio 1500 mAh battery for 2+ weeks and it DOES provide more "up" time before a recharge is necessary...
i bought this battery only $6 w/ shipping so we will see.!
the batttery works well. It was a great investment. I can leave BT on ALL DAY, and still have Battery left over... Great!

Glad to know the batteries are great.
Just bought too from the same seller.
Thanks!
Great find. For $7 to my door its worth a try. Even if it isnt the fantastic it will make a great spare.
soo...?
anyone care to comment on how this battery actually performs or if it is having any problems? really interesting find...
thanks, Jim.
no the battery is great. I get through a normal day from around 8 am- 7 pm. on a full charge. BUt... i do use the phone.. Probably around 10-15 minutes of calling, 20 minutes of slingplayer mobile, 20 minutes of internet searching, 10-20 texts, read email once an hour, and listen to music w pocketplayer for X amount of time??? and i still have around 10-20 % battery life left at 6. Since i have the other battery, if im going out that night, i can just flip it out and its good, but for the whole work day and that amount of use (i have screen on full brightness as well.) it works great. When the screen is not fully bright i can get through the night easliy as well (hard to read in sunlight though...)
i also bought the digipower power extension (3400 mah battery pack) this is for skiing. I put it in my camelpack, and it lasts the entire ski day while playing music, with then some to spare. That is only $30 and its about the same size as the phone. The other great thing is that can also work for airplanes as well as it plugs into usb , so any usb device!! still only $7 for the 1400 mah batt, not badd....
thanks
thank you very much for that great detailed response. is that more than what you would normally get out of your OEM 1100mah battery?
like what would those figures have been had you been using the original battery?
Thanks very much, Jim.

And you're still not quite sure...
the 1400Mah one for $7 fits in the OEM case?
also, would u still have bought it given the choice of the new 2000MaH battery from seidio?
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=927
Yeah, the 1400mah fits the original case.
No, I would not consider a 2000mah battery because of:
- The price
- The bulk
- The additionnal back plate.
14$ for two 1400mah battery.
15$ for a desktop cradle dual battery charger.
S/H included.
That's all I will ever need!

well the stock battery is "good". but im not gonna give away $7 (even tho thats not much) if its not going to do anything more than the stock battery. thats...completely pointless. i was just trying to get some #'s on the stock battery vs the ebay one to see if it was even worth bothering with.
The only reason i'm slightly wary is that it's not OEM...
Is this something I should be worried about? would TEP through sprint still take care of me in store? I hate asurion...
my batt arrived

Hi, sorry I wasn't subscribed to this thread.
Yes, they seem to work fine. I haven't compared them to the OEM battery in any sort of analytical way. My reception and programs I run vary so much that it would be pretty difficult to do a fair comparison. My anecdotal experience is that they work comparably to the original. How long they'll last (#cycles), who knows. If there's anything specific you want me to test, let me know. Yes, CDMA version of the vogue (Sprint Touch).
I also bought one, and he shipped a different battery that didn't fit. He insisted that I email a photo of the battery to prove it which I did. He said I was right, he had sent the wrong battery, and he would send me the right one. He also wants me to (at my cost) mail him back the wrong battery he sent me. I told him I would only do that when he puts $1.80 (cost of mailing it to Hong Kong) into my PayPal account since it was his mistake not mine. After numerous inquiries he finally responded that he has shipped a replacement, but it is almost 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received it.

2150 mAH Extended Battery In Stock

Just got the followup call from the VZW rep from my initial complaint about the 1300 mAH battery being stupidly inadequate. They let me know the 2150 is now in stock and it is $59.99 including the extended door.
I don't know anything about the physical dimensions of the battery, so don't ask me about that. I just know it is 2150 mAH, is HTC OEM, and it's available to order now.
Now, should I grab one of those or stick with the 1500 mAH TP2 battery.
EDIT: As of 5:23 EST, the website doesn't show it, however the VZW rep on the phone confirmed they have them in stock ready to order. *shrug*

I'll let you know. I've got the Innocase II with the 1750 mAh (extended cap but OEM city) batt, holstered in the Innocase II holster. I'll go to VZW around 1800 ET today and see if they have any of the 2150 mAh's in stock, in store. I'll report back to this thread in either event.
Personally the 1750 is working great. If the 2150 will fit the Innocase II (which would surprise me) I may get it. Otherwise I'll hold off until the Seidio 3500 mAh becomes available, and will get the proper case/holster then.
More to come!

probably because you DON'T live in the great state of California; with the nation's highest sales tax.
Well, I bit the bullet and ordered one. The 1500mAH gives me a full day and then some on normal/moderate usage. I'm hoping this battery gives me 2 days of normal/moderate usage and 1 full day of heavy usage (I'm talking Navigation, lots of 3G internet, and the boat load of calls I make, in addition to the normal texting and browsing).
If I don't like it I can return it or sell it... or give it to my gf.
somebody make sure to post pics when they get theirs. i'm definitely interested, but I want to see how it looks compared to the stock battery cover
It's not pretty. Scroll down midway, and you'll see someone posted images on their Flickr account.

This has been known for quite a long time. Seidio makes one that is 1750 and fits behind the stock battery door.
Back on topic.... That 2150mAh is extremely hideous and i will NOT be buying one.
Well ...
My 2150mah has arrived and it does have a pushed out center similar to the blurry pictures as posted on other sites. I suspect that I will use it until HTC comes out with a bug fix.
NOW FOR THOSE ACTUALLY INTERESTED IN A FIX research has shown that HTC outlined a procedure which I have used and it definitely has amazing results:
1) Charge with power on (no need to be on the desk clock)
2) When it goes green power off
3) Unplug and replug
4) It will stay red/orange for a while (indicating the rest of the charge)
You may still experience a drop off early on, but the battery holds the charge much longer.
Pictures
I put up some snaps at:

I did this last night, and I've been using the phone pretty heavily this morning like any other morning, and it dropped the first 10% a little slower, but its still at 87% battery, when by this time yesterday it was already on like low 70s high 60s!!!!
yes
Yes ... that IS the solution to the battery issue, but I don't know how to get a sticky on the topic.
On topic, I did the HTC trick to my 2150mah and in the 2 hours since I unplugged it I have taken 2 pictures, 1 of which was emailed, and I have checked the phone a few times. I am still at 100%. I suspect this has more to do with the phone not calibrating to the new battery as 2 hours of standby (+ pictures, email, etc) does NOT equal 0% usage.
[UPDATE] ... at 3 hours and 20 minutes uptime ... I have 96% battery remaining.
[UPDATE 2] ... at 5 hours and 21 minutes uptime ... I have 86% battery remaining. Current use = 44% cell standby; 43% phone idle; 5% android system; 4% camera; 2% display; 2% android.process.acor [=phone call].
[UPDATE 3] ... let an iPhone loyalist play with the phone for a little while ... at 10 hours 54 minutes I have 73% of the battery remaining. Current use = 40% standby; 38% idle; 8% maps; 8% android system; 3% camera, 3% display.
I may elect not to charge it tonight and see how it keeps going.
Thanks to the OP for the heads-up. I know that the batteries are ugly as sin (though drPheta's dremel work made it look presentable), but I am much more concerned with functionality. The first Verizon rep I called claimed that the batteries were not in stock yet, but the second one took care of me.

Extended Battery for US Android HD2 Owners

Apart from the OEM HTC Extended Batteries. Were can US users find a working Extended Battery. I have an eBay one but the battery life is similar to the 1200mah HTC battery.

And also... For anyone answering this. What kind of battery life do they actually give when compared to the original?

I think there is some kind of Android thing where it won't charge unless the OS is running. I don't run Android myself on my HD2. But in any case you are going to need an external charger to get it going, or to flash back to WM to charge the battery.

Good find, but I am quite sure it wouldnt give actual 2300mAh. But still, for that price I wonder how much improvement it actually has over stock. I remember the 1600 mAh at best gave about 1400 mAh or there abouts. I would not mind if this gives even slightly more than 50% of the stated capacity. Please let us know if anyone has tested this.
Hell, I'm getting paid in 2 days, and sending my HD2 to repair then, when I get it back, I will buy this battery and review it for you guys.
Though I doubt it's more than 1400mAh, but what the hell.. 13€.

Define good
My battery lasts me about 8-12 hours of moderate use, and 4-6 of heavy use/no service use
I would call that good for what my phone can do, but of course I'd like better

What that probably means is this battery has a very poor charge control circuit/temp sensor.
For cheap good batteries try the well tested brands: Andida & Momax .
Andida & Momax represent good quality for the money. I have used Andida & they have been as good as original. Just purchased a Momax for HD2 while in Hong Kong as read good remarks in posts here at XDA ... Buying cheap unknown junk from ebay with obvious overstated product details is just stupid, do not support these idiots by buying there useless low quality junk that they call products.
The feedback from crimebay mugs:
Evaluations neutres Does not last long , even after several chargings
Evaluations neutres standard battery time nothing special .
Evaluations neutres Battery capacity/life poor. Second battery the same. mAh less than stated!
Evaluations neutres never arrives the battery
Evaluations neutres the battery lasts less than 1000 mah
Evaluations neutres one battery didn't work
Evaluations négatives It was damaged to repair. broken batteries destroyed.
Evaluations négatives The battery offers far less then the offered capacity!!!
Evaluations négatives the battery is not even 1150mah
eBay should be prosecuted for its roll in enabling a trading platform for fake & fraudulent spec products ...

Evaluations négatives the battery is not even 1150mah

i will not believe to comments on ebay. i ordered mine few days ago and i will leave a feedback here.
hi there, well i m looking for a better battery, mine s getting low quickly.
i just bought this one on ebay after reading this post. I ll give you my opinion at reception
hope it will be fine...
Heres a Momax on eBay with world shipping included:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Momax-X-L...835895?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20bbed2af7
I purchased a momax in HK to test, in my opinion the X-level performs same as my HD2 Andida ... Bonus with Momax is they do not Bull**** on capacity & you can feel confident cell quality & charge protection circuitry is adequate too.
Andida was the best cheap budget battery & well tested within XDA community.
I purchased Andida direct in HK for around $7 US & they are working fine.
A colleage purchased an Andida for his old Topaz via ebay seller snow9white. Total price with shipping was $9.45 US & he has been very happy with the battery over the last 6 months of use ...
Will try to check it out next week!
I receive mine
So,
First, surprise to find my batterie today...
Another surprise, the weight is like the original, maybe more heavy...
(i'll try to find a digital balance)
Third, surprise she work, and more than a quarter...
So i'll put her in my phone a 4PM and it's work fine for now...
I'll keep you inform !
Sorry formy bad English
New batteries tend to have better standby time, even the one has less capacity.
So try draining your battery by watching YouTube or some intensive gaming, it should tell the difference.

Better yet, drain it by let running Netflix for a whole movie and that should kill it fast enough.
So is there such a thing as a larger mah cell at the standard thickness at any price or are they all the same?
FYI, I bought this battery (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Extended-30...Accessories&hash=item3a65fb4a24#ht_1885wt_952) which claims to be a 3000mAh.
I have used it for a while (2 weeks), and have to say that I am quite pleased with it. With 3g, wifi and auto-brightness on, I managed to get 32 hours of usage. This includes talking on the phone for 2 hours+, browsing on net 2 hours and 30 minutes of listening to music. I think it is more like 2000mAh. Certainly much longer than the original.
I am using Dorimanx's ROM, OC and UV, screebl and juice defender beta. Hope this helps others to make an informed purchase. Got his for less than USD10 including shipping. My best deal yet.

Almost all are the same at standard size.
Li-ion technology can not physically pack much more capacity into a cell of the HD2 size.
Mugen produced a standard sized cell at around 1500Mah & that was the best they could manage using quality cells & construction.
Claims of 1600, 1700 or even 2000+Mah of the magical Gold Business batteries are simply bull**** & fraudulent in an attempt to rob you of some cash for rubbish goods.
Best options for budget is Andida & Momax x-level, x-level may give about 5% more, Andida is about same as new original. Mugen may be an option if you don't mind paying high prices, around $39 US if still available.
Feipusi is another brand seen around Asia Pacific area, they rate at 1600Mah for standard size HD2 replacement but reality is standard Mah but quality is ok for less than $10 battery.
If you need double capacity you will need a cell almost double in size too, that's the reality so don't be fooled by these sellers marketing tactics.
There's one available from Lenmar having 1230mAh capacity for HD2 available for about $20...
I think it should be good as Lenmar is a good company

Open that battery and you will find in there a 1,200mah battery and some foam to fill the empty space inside the big housing. I seen this before with cell phone batteries and even Sony PSP batteries sold on Ebay.
It's a shame those Chinese guys manufacture fake and less than advertised charging capacity.
BTW- I have that battery and the charge is not that great, gave it to my 13yrs son so he can play with this HD2.

Motorola BF6X Extended Battery

Does anyone have experience with the Motorola BF6X battery? Is it a legitimate OEM battery?
I purchased one from the following eBay user, but I've seen it around on other places. I will let you guys know how it is once I've got it, but I'd like feedback from others ...

I've had great luck with mine so far (1 week). Ordered 2 batteries with an in-wall charger for around 10-15 bucks. Can't beat it.

Those batteries aren't the same at all ... They are cheap knockoffs with probably half the rated capacity.
I bought mine at a verizon store. After I updated to 5.6.890 I monitored batt life. Had 40% @29th hour from the first full charge (had 70% when I bought it). Wrote it down, but can't find the stat. I was trying for 48hr. Fell short by 4 or 6 hrs.? Played XGalaxy2, Txt, Email, Tweaking, little broswering. lol . I'm using a live wallpaper now so thats using energy. ps. debloated.

I agree. Get the one from Verizon. You need the new battery door. I'm using one since I received the phone, still don't get anywhere near the rated phone specifications of 300 hours standby/550minutes usage. However, the battery does make a difference for me.
The inductive charger is also a nice accessory and works with the extended battery.

I got mine from amazon (the us site I mean), payed it 29 USD + 5 euros to ship it to italy (via a proxy service).
I just ordered a genuine Motorola 1930mAh battery; I've heard too many bad things about the generics and knock-offs to buy one of those. I would avoid them.
Can you buy genuine Motorola batteries for D3 that are bigger than 1930mAh (I mean bigger power-wise, not physically)?

Hmm... Anker? Is this a reliable brand? It doesn't look much thicker than the 1930mAh battery. 0.o

hi, I bought this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...52&ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:US:1123#ht_4390wt_902
It doesn't state that it comes with a new battery door... were you able to fit your battery cover on your phone with your new BF6X batterY??
or does anyone else who purchased a similar item know?
You can fit the battery in under the stock cover
but if you live in a hot area there wont be room for the battery to expand and that could cause problems
Sent from my DROID3 using xda premium

A battery of that size and capacity won't expand than the thickness of a sheet of paper. If it expands noticablly, you'd be facing a serious risk of explodsion whether if you're using the extended back or not.
