I think there is a app in the market that might help with dead pixels.... Idk if it actually works but its worth a try... it flashes different colors on the screen that are supposed to help fix them....

Has anyone tested this in low light situations? I'm curious how sensitive it is.

Works in low light but not when the light source is behind you its gotta be behind the phone

I had this a while back on my phone. Only bad thing is that anyone can just search you on Facebook or Google+ and they have access through your profile picture.

if you go to the portal on xda you should find they did an artical on the app and its ok not all perfect and if u just hold a printed picture of the person who is needed than u can still get in pointless at that point theory behind it is good
Lol yeah but who going to have a picture of your face? Especially if it at the spur of the moment lol

My take is as long as your old lady isn't frequenting this thread she's not likely to get past it to your text messages its not a govnt retina scanner but it def keeps most people out. Even if you left your phone somewhere it would be more than enough security to someone who doesn't know what you look like

cool, but PIN/password/pattern lock is a lot more practical in my view...
Awesome app, my gf will never get in now!! with the pattern and pin, she is good at watching me open it when in the car or something like that and then i see her later playin with it. and i don't think she will be smart enough(lol) to figure out she needs to put a photo to open it.

RE-(Request) Galaxy S II keyboard from korea/phillipines firmware

Heard this is the keyboard to have, they have no patent rules there and the keyboard is top notch with everything loaded in unlike every where else (so i hear)

Is it me or does the spacebar look the size of an invisible ant? It's so tiny.. @ 4.06
Yeah it does but remember he's on the browser, so the ".com" button is taking up some space too. I bet without it, it looks great

Tried Googling too see if I can download got nothing. Pulled it from a Samsung rom, and kept getting fc.
Anyone one know of a modded one

looks like a nice keyboard for sure
we may never get to see this Keyboard. ='(
I saw this keyboard in action from my cousin's GS2 from Korea. It's insane. I can type on it all day at probably 95% accuracy. With my stock gingerbread keyboard, I'd be lucky to hit 80%
i really hope we can get a dev to port this for us NS4G users.
id really like to give it a try lol
Here's the link to the apk that i grabbed from somewhere else, i've pushed it to system/apps and changed permissions but not it's working, maybe it needs the touchwiz framework?

[Q] Keyboard open "click" disappearing

You know that really nice solid click the screen makes when you open the keyboard? Well, I'm on my third Droid 3 now, and every single one, after two weeks, the sound gets quieter and quiter, until it's complete mush upon opening the keyboard. My friend has had his Droid 3 for about the same time, and doesn't have this issue. Has anyone else had it? Does anyone know of a possible fix somehow? I know it's silly, but I'm picky haha!
I have not had any problems with mine, maybe u push it up to hard.

Perhaps, but I really don't think I was hard on it at all. :/
Well at least Verizon keeps giving you new ones.

broken camera and 2 dead pixels out of the box

I received my shipment today.
The very first thing I did after signing in was update the system to 4.1.1.
After playing for a few minutes I noticed a dead or stuck pixel on the right side of the screen. I ran the display test app and found another dead pixel in the middle of the screen.
I tried the camera with Google hangouts and Skype and all I get is garbled green signal. Using the nexus 7 camera launched yielded the same result.
Doing a full factory reset did not fix the problems.
Needless to say this going back. I'm disappointed that this excellent device is having these quality issues.
I have a single dead pixel on the very edge. It's only visible on a completely black screen so I'm gonna live with it.
Good luck with your return.

I would recommend you get it exchanged. At the end of the day its still a defect. Maybe wait a little while so they have more stock to ship another one.

Well, some sort of workaround... Not so much a fix.
There's an app called ScreenAdjuster from the play store which allows you to adjust colors a bit, turn blue up a bit until you like the result (to about 6 or 7 I believe).
so it is a software problem not a hardware problem and there is hope for future fix by sony?

Seems to be a software issue, Mine turn yellow after the first update. Screen adjuster is a workaround in the mean time. My nexus had the same issue. Its more of a colour temperature thing. Most people seem to like a cooler look to their screen.
should i go for replacement under doa without fear of getting more defected one
or wait for update on issue?

I have this problem also. I call to sony center they already confirm is a hardware issue and I requested to change, by monday they will change for me. My opinion you better change a new device from them because the yellow hue really make you feel angry that you pay so much and you still getting this problem.
Even I had talk with customer center dey admitted it as hardware issue and guaranteed me replaced phone won't.have it.but dey stated after I get changed phone.I.wnt be able to doa it in case of.prob is.it.true?

Get a new one.
I got proof that there are different units out there.
We got the first units.
Rubbish screens.
Have complained a lot here like others, but Sony freaks will not admit they have bad screens.
We delivered them back an got good ones back.
Se picture.
Same firmware and adjusting.

Yes.
The one on the picture is the last one not returned.
Still got it until the new one arrives.
Update :
Is there an easy way for her to do a screen shot of the information you want ?
She was unsure where to find it.
I don't know and can't tell her. I swapped mine for the Note because they told us that the screen was that bad.
But now we know better.
I guess you want it for a reference because we got the help we need.

yes, thanks for sharing your IMEi.
FFS, you may want to delete that photo...
Scary
As I write it's not mine and it's a mobile that are returned.
It's not that exciting with a imei that's out of service?
Another thing about that.
If it so secret with imei.
Why can anyone get imei number from the boxes in the stores?
I can walk in a store and get imei numbers from a lot of boxes anytime.
Why isn't the numbers hidden?
