Any way of restoring Stock SPL via SD card method or otherwise (semi-broken phone) - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Apologies if there is any kind of answer to the following elsewhere - I've looked for a few hours, but haven't stumbled across anything.
My phone has developed an issue, whereby the SE logo will display - along with the green Windows Mobile logo, before resetting.
I've been able to reflash the original stock ROM (hence the WM splash screen), but need to now restore the SPL to send this off for a repair.
Any ideas how I can do this (considering I can't connect this via ActiveSync to the PC)?
Thanks very much all,
FatalSaviour

though I normally don't recommend it for spl: you might want to give SD method a try
strange your stock rom doesn't boot though, hope trying to flash spl doesn't scramble it completely
otherwise consider using task 29 to wipe memory and start a new with the stock rom, but read instructions carefully before you try it
gl anyway

BlueAngel Total Failure - Request for advice.

Hello,
I believe I have a real 'tough' scenario:
My BA (WM2003) was running normally till yesterday where it simply 'froze'. I tried restarting it, (soft and hard) and it kept stalling on the (IMate) splash screen and didn't proceed to WM. I left it to battery drain completely.
I came to work this morning, and literally tried everything:
Standard Upgrade using the Imate original exe (PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200). doesn't recognize the phone anymore.
Tried the MaUpgradeUT_noID with the nbf files (radio, ms and nk). In all cases the upgrade starts and gets interrupted in the middle with a 'weird' error and the BA display fades as the signal led goes RED (constant, no blink). I have to take the battery out, back in.
Tried the mtty set 14 0 / task 28 sequence with no result. (The info commands return a garbled sequence which makes me assume that my bootloader got corrupted).
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

Read in another post that you got no reply on this one.
Well it seems like nobody can come up with anything that would make more sense than what you have done.
My wording is when everyting else falis go back to the original rom and start from fresh.
If you can't flash an original rom in the ship.exe or the extract form you need to send it in.
Does your device react to hard reset ?? at least you should get a boot screen.
Have you tried Bootloader mode?
I know that this is a really stupid idea.. but have you tried putting it in bootloader mode, and then trying to upgrade? Or maybe throw a WM5 rom on there, and downgrade again! Worth a try until you send it in!
Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate the help.
I figured out that I had two distinctive problems:
1. The constant red led light, after a lot of research, it turned out that the battery was defective. Changing it solved the problem.
2. Now, I am able to flash the ROM (Tried it a couple times so far) with the orginal or another one. It flashes correctly, but only if I use the NoID flash program, else it will return a MODEL ID error. And when I reboot it, it stays stuch on the 'Imate' or the bootscreen and I don't get the WM to load (As if it freezes)...
3. I don't think I can upgrade to WM5 as I need to shrink the EXTROM size? Can this be done through some 'task' or other command in mtty for example?
Thanks for your suggestions.
Cheers,
Wadih.

How to Flash in BootLoader

I have a stuck image on my 8125. The phone "boots" but only shows a white screen, and is unusable.
The "a2sd all" restore option mentioned in the forums doesnt work for me. I have read on several forums that I should be able to reflash the OS from the bootloader, though I cant find any instructions on how to do this
Could someone point me in the right direction for how to flash an OS VIA bootloader?
Thx
1. Get the phone to bootloader (tree color mode) - I think by soft resetting and pressing the camera button at the same time
2. Connect it to the computer (Windows XP) with a USB cable
3. You will notice "USB" written in a lower corner of the phone (this means it is connected)
4. Now you can flash your provider's ROM without any problems
I am not sure whether the bootloader flashing is possible from Windows Vista.
You must flash normally (in bootloader you cannot use either shelltools or SoftSPL - so use your provider's ROM).
Mirek
Mirek - not to be totally ignorant, but the step 4 is what I'm having problems with .... where can I find either a providers ROM, or something that I can actually use while in bootloader mode?
Thanks!
NM ... Found it!
For anyone reading this .... You can get the provider ROM for the 8125 from HTCAmerica here: http://www.htcamerica.net/support/8125/software-downloads.html
Thanks for your help!

IPL/SPL 2.08? Does that exist? Do you mean 3.08?
Are you sure your device is a G3? Or you killed it when flashing Button's ROM?

Freeze on boot screen

Hello,
Today my vibrator goes mad, so I decided to send my phone back (I still have the warranty).
In order to proceed, I have to put back the official SFR ROM, and luckily I found this link on the wiki : ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Trinity/SFR_S300+_ROM_French_1.23.163.2_Only_OS.rar
So I did a little backup of all my data, I take off the memory card, and I started the installation.
But at 9%, it bugs. Hopefully, the ROMUpdateUtility display a message that I have to put off and put in the USB cable, and retry the installation. Its seems that works, because the transfer was complete and the phone reboot automatically .
But when the phone reboot, it display the classical boot screen SFR Bonjour, show some numbers (M 05 - B 05 - D 1.23 - R 1.50.08.11 - G 32.83.7020.20h) and when this numbers disappear the phone freeze.
I've try to wait half an hour, but the SFR boot screen stay, and the phone didn't respond to anything (I've try to put the power cable, and the LED set on only if the phone is off). I have to put off the battery to turn off the phone.
If somebody could help me, please!
And excuse me if I made any mistake, english is not my native language.
I have the same issue......
I have the same issue, my SPVM700 just sits on the initial splash screen after I tried to re-flash it to the original Orange ROM [as I too had to return it for a warranty repair]. I used Mozzer's Orange ROM [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309959] to restore it - the procedure looked the same as with other ROMs I had successfully loaded but it was only when I tried to restore the official MNO ROM that my Trinity bricked.
I can access the bootloader screen [TRIN100 IPL-0.50, SPL-9.99CP] and can flash the device, where the progress bar always reaches 100% on the PC and the PDA and then the PDA automatically reboots, however, it does not advance past the splash screen.
I have tried the Hard-SPL fix [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299659 ] and then re-flashed the device with other ROMs that I had tried previously [Schaps, AX3L, HTC Official WM5 P3600 ROM etc..] but still get no joy - is there something that I should have done prior to re-loading the original ROM that I have missed and is my Trinity now forever a brick?
you've presumably tried a hard reset? but it's not written above so i thought i'd just check.. (pressing two soft reset buttons and pushing the stylus in the reset hole?)
Yes I did try a hard reset even though I didn't expect much from it as I had just replaced the ROM [effectively wiping the ROM and replacing it with a different ROM] and none seemed to boot. Once the device has started booting up, the only way to switch it off is to disconnect the battery [and the only way to switch it back on is to soft reset] so I am guessing there is a hardware issue caused by returning the device to the Original MNO build as this was the ROM upgrade that trashed the device - other ROMs tested prior to this had loaded successfully.
Sorry to bring this back but since the link is in Behemot's sig, it is not resolved yet. Have you guys loaded SSPL before flashing? If you haven't, the OEM Rom won't boot with HardSPL. Try flashing another custom Rom and use this method before flashing the Shipped Rom.
Good luck.
ask ilos for original SFR rom or search for extenue SFR rom. or contact me by personal message and give me your mail i have the SFR ROM without radio ROM (you can get the radio on this forum)...
Sorry, I've forget to update this thread...
So, for me the only solution was to bring back the device to an SFR store (it is still under warranty).
I believed they would reproach me that the RADIO was not the original one or something like that, but no. They didn't make any remark and send my device back with an official SFR ROM.
The only thing is that they take more than a month instead of the traditional two weeks to fix it.
So all is ok for me.
I hope you will solve your problem

HTC Tytn ii not booting

My htc which is still default from factory freezes on start up. i have been advised that it needs a firmware upgrade but as i am unable to boot the phone up i am unable to upgrade the firmware. i am lost here i have been searching for hours to find a solution and can;t seem to find one so i thought i would ask you guys. it freezes on the screen smart mobility and doesn;t move from there.
Have you tryed to hard-reset?
To flash the original stock ROM via bootloader? as doesn't need to fully load os to flash.
i have tried to hard reset it now and it wont turn on now.
i got it to boot again after the hard reset but it did the same thing just froze on the smart mobility screen again. i had sent it in to be fixed but they wanted to charge me quite a bit to update the software and since i have 4 months till my contract is up i don;t want to pay it is there anyway i can give it the update whilst it is freezing during boot up
Try flash stock ROM via bootloader.
Camera button hold in press in stylus, stock rom "from wiki" now flash via usb or sd.
would you be able to suggest the best rom for me to use i have wm 6.1 the info it givews me is kais130 spl-3.29.0000 cpld-8 i have never done this before i just want to be sure i get the right one
You will need your carrier ROM as when flash will vendor check since not hard-spl'd.
thankyou so much for the help i was able to locate the correct rom and now my phone is working again you have been a great help
Glad you sorted, happy to help

Broken Xperia X1 and SoftSPL.

Hi, I have a truly big problem with my Xperia X1. It is on guarranty so I can't disassembly it. My LCD screen failed. Underlight works, touch works, but the screen stays black. I think that something has disconnected inside of it.
I can control - run GPS, Music, call for somebody from memory of my brain - using touch and keyboard. Everything works fine, but the display has no image.
My problem is... before this accident I changed the SPL for SoftSPL (from this forum) and used some non-original ROM's. After 4 or 6 ROM's I changed it for the newest original firmware, but... the SoftSpl stays.
I think that before get the phone to the service I should invert the SPL for HardSPL back, right? Soo... is it hard, need I to make something on the phone?
Please for help.
it's the other way around: you should have hard spl on your phone now, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to flash custom roms
you have to restore stock-spl, find the file and instructions in olinex thread in the stickies
additional tutorials are in biovolts thread
gl
It would be easier, when my phone woulde be synchronized with any of my PC's. I remember that I had problems with the window of choice (mass storage, win sync etc), which should show after plug USB cable. It never shown and I had to go to the settings on the phone and then select the option.
Now I can't see my movements... what can I do?
try going to bootloader mode (tri color screen) and do a hard spl the flash..
