Kaos is one of the best dev's period!! He has been great to the Eris community with his releases. Someone needs to give him a incredible so he can help us out

So I'm doing well with gingersense and I notice some people still use froyo. So would you all like froyosense weather I compile and modify froyo myself or port it from the desire or evo 4g. Would you all like froyo sense?

chances are that it would work with sprint without any changes needed. worst case you could use an eri.xml file to change the carrier name. all of the sprint roms will work on cellular south. i just wanna see one built from a CS image, and i am sure that there are several others here that would like to see it too.

Are you still helping PMGRANDS froyo rom?
cause its pretyy solid now, minus no gps, Mnetwork fc's and the camera is totally useless. but other than that, its sweet

I helped him a lot before and then I got busy with my own work. But if he needs help I'll be willing to help him here and there when I have free time between my work.

i have never ported a rom and never was interested in it until i thought why not try it
so i'm having trouble with the process but i'm sure xda can help me out

I'll try that after i finish my gingersense and/or froyosense port. I found out why i was having issues porting from the evo or any hdpi device.....you can't
So I'm now trying to port from different devices Hopefully this time all goes well and I have 5 different rom ports I'm going to try
EDIT: Whichever out of the 5 boot I will be releasing Its 1am here but I'm not going to stop working on the ports until 3am

Ill stay up waitn I'd love to test one out I need to flash something new haha
Also ok so I posted before about this but its super important to me is there any way we can somehow fix our heros to put out a infustruction wireless signal so the ps3 can pick it up I do it with my bros evo I rooted hacked ect and well my hero I really wanna b able to connect to psn like I do on my bros evo I mean on 3g cod black ops runs super smooth

Ics sdk port

I'm seeing a lot of devices getting ics sdk ports or atleast starting to(in pre alpha stage) I was wondering if anyone wanted to attempt that on our d3s because it doesn't look like we're getting cm9 soon because were not even officially supported for cm7.

An ICS SDK port is would not be worth it. ICS will only come when the source drops.

The Nexus will be out before the month's end, and the source code will drop in the following 2-4 weeks. If someone built it from SDK, they'd have to start it all over again after the source drops.

ya but that means source wont drop till xmas and then by the time someone has a working build moto will be releasing there official build so it doesnt really do anything for us

If Motorola ever actually pushes out an ICS update for us, it'll be at the very earliest the end of next spring. They have newer and "better" phones that they'll update first.

It might be a fun exercise, and fun to play around with, but sdk ports are buggy and wont have the framework that really makes up ICS. It would basically GB + some ICS features/apps, since all we have access to is some apps and what they ask for

I hope no one is wasting time working on a port from a Software Development Kit (SDK) emulator "ROM" that is incomplete and lacking. SDK's are for app developers to test, not for ROMs to be be made.
Once the source hits....you'll have a better chance of getting ICS, AND a much better and complete ROM.
I really hope no one is working on an SDK port "ROM" for the D3.

The current devs we have are still working on the roms they first put out. We will not get an SDK port. We'll start to see ICS when the source is released.

Just to be clear, I'm not working on an ICS port from the SDK. Sorry :/
While I applaud jellydroid13's enthusiasm, there is still alot of work to be done getting the D3 to be more AOSP friendly. This includes working on getting the audio drivers working correctly, BT updated, overlays which don't have PBUNDERUN events every 30 seconds, camera routines to iron out, etc.
Fixing these issues in Gingerbread where our kernel matches up with the source, gives us a better chance at then migrating working source to a true ICS port later.
There is also a fairly sizable kernel hurdle to jump as well.
Just my 2-cents.

Where did you hear this?

These are the files you need to port a device. They need to be altered severely to run on the incs. Extreme development knowledge is needed to make use of this. However a developer could grab bits and pieces from it if they have greater knowledge in one area than another.

The ics update will be coming to this and many other htc devices as stated yesterday to myself in a bell store by an htc rep.

incredible s is abandoned already i think lol

if it comes to sensation xl, with has almost same specs, just better cpu, it will be for sure ported to incredible s (if htc doesn't release it officially)

All they did was give a few obvious ones that would get the upgrade. They never said the rest of their products weren't.

What developers can do with this?

Theory Rom Site Back!!! HAS EVERYTHING!! AND NEWEST ICS ROM!!!

Its Back people!!!! And its has everything from updates and downloads for ICS Roms(Our Personal Interest). Right now I'm downloading the latest ICS Rom from the site. IT WAS RELEASED THIS MORNING!!!! A little birdy told me that both SD cards mount Now I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links to different sites so be patient with me moderators and don't ban my account(happened before not sure why tho.

Cam still doesnt work... damn.. honestly if it did i would seriously run this for a couple days.. blur cam wouldnt install even thru the way thru root explorer.. i did get an AOSP cam to install using that method but it would open.. market cams dont work either

I had to do a lot of scrolling and load next 10 several times to find this thread. Least now it can be back near the top so people will see it. Not all of us use xda on a computer and have as good of search options.

Yes but it's not the most organized. The 902 roms are the only ones not labeled 902, instead listed under cyanogenmod/aosp based while 901, 893, and 886 are labeled. For someone new, that could cause extra confusion.
I'm more confident that insanemod could make a better one. Not to be funny, but I'm starting to think he should be the moderator.
