How to check firmware version? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello people?
How could I check the firmware version?
If I dial *#1234# I get PDA, PHONE and CSS
On "About", I have baseband version, and build number.
What is exactly my firmware version?

*#1234# tells you firmware version
"About" tells you the android build

can't figure out Firmware Version..

Hi,,
this is my 1st android device,, and i'm still a tad bit lost in the mix, especially with all this talk going on about firmwares and ROMS.
as i still can't figure out what Firmware mine got..
when i punch in *#1234#
i wind up with PDA, PHONE, CSC
n' in the settings>about phone> baseband
there is another i9000??????
which one of these is the firmware vers.???
thanks
still looking 4 an answer,,
Go to settings-> about phone
Sent from my GT-I9000
When people talk about Galaxy S firmware version, they mean PDA version.
So when you punch in *#1234# you get:
PDA: main firmware (same as /about phone/build)
MODEM: baseband-firmware (same as /about phone/baseband)
CWC: Regional related setting ja programs (not so important)

The PDA is your firmware, in this case JPJPG. Phone is your Radio/Modem (JXJPE). CSC is your localization file (JPJPF).
Great. Thanks. Now what voodoo kernel is the right one for me? I'm looking for voodoo lagfix, sound, and color. Thanks again

Ok. I suggest you download the latest official firmware for your phone. The fw you got now must be pretty old. Around October last year.
This one is from Wed, 10 Jul 2013. I8190LUBAMG2_I8190LTCEAMG1_TCE.zip
Flash with Odin as PDA.

No errors?
I would still try to reflash if I were you. If you do reflash, save the log and post it here if it still doesn't help.

Im gonna try to flash the modem... i think the problem is that the stock rom is the one provided by the cell phone company and i assume it has some king of protection, and that's why no matter what modem i try to flash, baseband doesn't change.
BTW the roms in "samsung updates live" and "sammobile" for Mexico "ubamg2 tce" are the one's used by the cell phone company.
UPDATE: I flashed a moden.bin via odin, the baseband didn't change, i try to flash via CWM the modem you left, and the baseband changed for about 3 minutes "ubamg2", then it returned tu normal "ubalj7".
Ok, that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
I'd try formatting mmcblk0p16 and flashing modem again as a last resort.

[Q] Question about Jellybean unofficial upgrade

Hello everyone, i'm new here and this is my first question
I have a Galaxy S Advance (I9070)
PDA : I9070XXLK2
PHONE : I9070XXLK2
CSC : I9070MTLLD1
Can I upgrade it to 4.1.2 (Jeallybean), I can't find I9070XXLK2 with the version 4.1.2? It is not available for my region yet I guess.
If so, what should I use as a firmware?
Thank you

I think this phone's original country and operator were Bulgaria (MTL).
I'm from Algeria, so I guess my country is not an option.
So what firmware should I use? And is there any risk that I could lock my phone to another carrier?
You can choose what country you want if use Odin.

hello everyone,
i bought tab s2 sm-t813 but its already rooted. i want to unroot it. problem is i am not able to find the same firmware. i find out that region is Germany DBT through smart switch but PDA and CSC are different from firmware available for download.

i don't understand which firmware is installed in this tab. can anyone tell me?

You don't need to install the exact build. Updates are posted regularly which changes the build number. As long as it's for your region just flash.
The one above is correct.
