Honestly, most of the time you have to wait 20 minutes till you get an answer in Q&A in my experience, just be patient and don't make un-necessary thread in a forum that's about development.
EDIT: He isn't being a douche, he's being a person who actually respects forum rules, it's like laws, but of course like in society we give you people second chances and refuse to flame too badly

Well it's pretty much your fault, as you should have known this would've happened on ANY forum.(unless it's some Religious Forum)
But, fine I'm feeling generous today. You only need to wipe and flash the Death SPL, not the radio as that could potentially brick the phone.
so basically
1.wipe phone
2.flash death spl
3.flash rom
Have fun breaking more forum rules, sorry mods for this thread.

This is the problem. People ask the same questions over and over and it is extremely annoying to have to sort through all of the nonsense.This is impossible to solve since most of us are selfish and want what we want. The answer to your question is in the threads about upgrading the SPL.

NOW they want me to try out a new mod for them on their phone. this new mod requires the death SPL, however they already have the LATEST radio 26I.
am i able to simply flash the new haykuro death spl like anything else? with no issues seeing as how the phone already has the latest radio (thanks to cyanogen build)?
i cant risk bricking his phone as i have no cash to replace it.

I don't wish to offend anyone here but, as a senior member you should have guessed this thread would annoy quite a few people. The fact that you're aware that this was posted in the wrong forum is probably worse.
This is the exact reason a QnA forum was made, to stop this forum getting cluttered with questions.

So I think I'm doing something wrong.
I made a Nandroid backup in Recovery mode, and thankfully I did because I tried flashing a theme and I got boot loop. So I went back into recovery mode, went to Backup/Restore, Restore Nandroid, and selected the latest backup I made. It goes through the process of restoring (with the flashing dots at the bottom) and says "Restore Complete". I then hit back, and select Reboot Now.
Then it hits the fan. I get stuck at the green "HTC" screen. Nothing happens at all. I let it sit for half an hour and nothing. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? I don't know what to do any help would be really appreciated! Thanks everyone.

Try doing a full wipe from recovery and then restoring. If that doesn't work then you will probably have to reflash your rom and redownload your apps. BTW this should be in Q&A. Hope this helps!

Look dude, they guy asked a simple question and I provided a simple answer. I admit yes im flaming people lately because im tired of people not paying attention to the rules or even bother searching the forums(like this person). This is a very basic and known question if they would have just searched.
I dont care if they are new or not if they didnt see the HUGE STICKY THREAD saying dont post questions in this section, then something is wrong, either they need glasses or they are just plain stupid. i would be more then willing to contribute if the thread is posted in the correct section and if they had bothered to even search beforehand(which its obvious this person did not).
Questions belong in the Q&A section not in development. you guys can call me a **** or watever but im just tired of going to the development to see multiple questions of the same crap. If they bothered looking or searching also i wouldnt be such a pain. Just cause you guys think im being mean doesnt make the forums become less cluttered up also. 1. Search dude. This is one of the most obvious questions I've ever seen asked here.
2. Read around the forums before posting, that goes hand-in-hand with searching...
3. Post in the right friggin' section. You have a [Q] in your tread title which means it's a question, which is fine, but its not a "Captivate Android Development" question! It belongs in the Question and Answer section. (which is amazingly obvious, it's not like they hide it from you around here)

I have to agree with this 100%. When I first started I didn't even realize I could search the forums or threads. Instead of someone pointing out to me there was search and explain how it works I was unbelievably verbally beaten to a bloody pulp about what an idiot I was. Even today I was taken to task for a post that cites a measure of rom's performance instead of the accepted evaluations we see day in and day out-fantastic, great, best, unbelievably fast. To me the true evaluation of a rom has to be functionality and some measure. If you do not think Quadrant scores, net speed tests and Lin pack scores measure performance tell me what does. I understand e mail works, videos play, I can make phone calls etc. That tells me how the rom functions. How do you measure a rom's performance other than to say fantastic, great, good etc.? Tell me.
All the "this is in the wrong forum, dude" posts are not about development either, so you're all off topic.
Spend less time bashing, and more time helping the new forum members.
The internet doesn't need more assholes, just more manners and good examples.

when you are reading these forums every day trying to see whats going on in the dev world, all you see on the front page are [Q] threads, posted in the wrong section. then we have to filter out all the BS and try to find useful info, when it should be right there, easily accessible, which is the point of breaking up the sections of the forums....
it's clutter
and the mods do a good job of moving them, but the n00bs come in here and post the BS so fast, its impossible to keep up.
Would someone care to reference the difference between all the roms? JVS etc every week that I come on here I have to search what the new rom letters mean. Maybe you can make a sticky making it easier for everyone?

I don't really care, they sticky everything so why not what roms are for our phones and what ones are ported. Also what order the came out in. Im done with the captivate this weekend anyway, its only a suggestion.

hello everybody, i have a 4x that I just rooted, thinking of installing a custom rom for better performance and battery life, but I have a few doubts.
1: can I restore it to the original rom latr and how do I backup everything?
2: I´m having an issue with lack of ram message, will a custom rom help.....

if that option existed, the developer section would not be missing all the links to custom roms
you can add some hacks and play around with some workarounds, but only a semi alpha rom exists which is for development only. and hoping others could find interest in how i made to create new roms with locked bootloader if possible.
