Mine seemed fairly loud once I turned the "Alarm volume" all the way up and told it not to use the increasing volume option.

i dont see alarm volume. either way the ear piece volume is low as is the speakerphone volume... would be nice to have a hack to increase it. if this fixes the alerts that would hold me over till a hack hits for this.

where is the increasing volume option.

It's the volume check box in the alarm options.

first day I used droid x as an alarm i was late for work because the sound was so low
Unchecking "use increasing volume" made it better
I suggest buying one of those cheap Ipod/Iphone speaker setups they sell at walmart for like $9 and just hook up to the audio jack if you're gonna use it as an alarm

Bump because I wanna know if it can be increased

Ok i found the increasing volume setting. Go to your alarm clock, hit add alarm and the the increasing volume setting is just past halfway

I'd like to see a increase in the volume of the earpiece. It's a bit difficult at times to hear some people talk on phones that have microphones that are a bit on the low side.

You have to click on the alarm that your trying to activate and its the second to last click-able option before "Done" & "Revert".

I'd love to see a volume hack. When music or ringtones are playing, I think the volume level is satisfactory but sometimes there are certain apps and movies that have lower than normal sound levels and it would be nice to temporarily boost the speaker. Maybe a speaker mod is in order, here

Is there a hearing impaired option in the phone settings? Some android phones have that and it increases volume. Another method is for someone to mod the kernel to accomplish this (which has been done on other phones like the EVO)

I know its not a hack, but the app Quick Settings allows you to control all of the volume settings individually. Its really nice.

Motorola has finally acknowledged this problem and has stated that a fix will be included in a future software update (probably Froyo)...

Go to settings go to sound and display go to media audi effects phone speaker make sure enable audio effects go to equalizer to desired setting
not a fix but seems to help

For alarm volume.
While in the first menu of the alarm screen press the "Menu" button. Then select the "setting" button. Alarm volume is the second option down.

"speaker problem?" how can i increase the volume?

Hi all ,
there is any chance to increase the volume of the speaker ?
he is very weak.. (and his volume is on maximum)
tweak or smting will help.
thanks !
No tweaks really available for this. There are like one or two tricks (one of which requires hacking your phone up) that apparently work.
Look around, there are tons of threads in regards to this topic.
Yes the speaker is crap on the diamond. Sooner or later you will get used to it and live with it
do not forget that you have three volume settings.
first system volume, second ringtone volume and third incall volume.
the last you can only set during a call. when in a call, turn on your screen and then press the volume up button. now you can change the volume during a call.
for me this fixed al the volume problems.
offcourse if you want to use your speaker for handsfree or as an mp3 player: don't. the speaker is not intended for this use and you will just irritate people around you. use a headphone instead.

I also thought that the volume during a call is way too low despite having the volume at maximum. Since I installed Phone Weaver which lets you control the incall volume via profiles it blows my ears away. Last time the speaker was too loud during the call but I couldn't turn it down with the volume keys?! It only changed the master (system?) volume but not the incall. What did I wrong?
I have found that the loud-speaker volume is very low during movie playback, what setting deals with this?
Use Advanced Config and enable all Audio Booster options. This maybe helps...
Also Diamond Tweak, maybe disable 100 db Sound Limitation...
However, these are I think for headset, I haven't tried if they affect the external speaker.
One thing that works for sure is setting equalizers to max in In Core player, but I don't know if the core player works on Diamond...
Don't you love it how I actually haven't helped you at all?
I am gonna test all these and edit this post ))))))

Increase the volume of the movie player if its not already 100%?
Personally my speaker is very loud. During calls, at around 50% volume its still so loud I have to keep it a little from my ear.

i think you have to be in the phone menu. when i press the volume during a call, it changes the call volume. maybe phone weaver assigns a different function to you volume button.

Coreplayer shows volume at 100% already, but the volume is so low I can barely hear a thing...
Anyone? It's weird because when I put calls on loudspeaker it's fine, but when playing a movie it's inaudible...

[Q][REQ] Ringtone volume delay

I'm not sure if any other Captivates have this problem, but whenever I get a call and my ringtone goes off, it plays at a very low volume for a second and after that it would ring at the max volume. I also noticed this on a friend of mines Captivate as well. Would there be some sort of fix for this?
ya mine does that too theres no option in settings to change it its kinda annoying
I don't think it's a defect. I think it is more of a feature. I kinda like it. Keeps the ringer from being startling if you have it on fill blast but happen to be right next to it when it rings.

Yeah, and if I'm in a meeting or a class, it gives me a split-second to hit the volume button through my pants pocket to shut it up. I like it, too.
Wish there was an option to set it like that or not. I have custom ringtones and I like to hear the full song play from the beginning, lol
Yeah, it's always best to give the user an option.

[Q] My alarm (and any I add) not loud and volume goes down when I touch the phone

I am having an issue with both of my Bionic's and it's probably I just don't know where to go. I use the stock alarm and also Gentle alarm. First, gentle alarm, the volume never goes as loud as it should; it's a simple program but I find it doesn't work but I digress. When my alarm goes off first off it doesn't seem as loud as it does when you pick the alarm sound you want to use but the really annoying thing is if I even touch the phone the volume goes clear down to the lowest level. Is there a setting on this phone that I am not seeing ? I tested it just to be sure last nite and every time it went off and I even touched or moved the thing the volume might as well have gone to mute you couldn't hear it. I need a much better alarm than this seems to be offering
If you go into the sound section of the settings app you should see a volume option, pick this and see if your alarm volume may have lowered any.

Call Volume Too Loud

Hi I have my call volume set to the minimum, but the call volume is way too loud. The "speaker" is not active, but it is so loud that I have to operate the phone a distance from my ear, and in quiet environments people can easily hear my full conversation.
Does anyone know how I can get that minimum volume to be a little lower.
Using stock ICS, no root, everything standard...

Are u sure you're adjusting the call volume (lower volume while on call) and not the system or media volume (adjusted when on home screen or viewing media). Afaik, the lowest call volume setting cannot be heard and is in effect muted.

Try to lower the vol. While calling someone with the help of volume. Up/down buttons

I've always wanted the call volume to be higher on my note - how come you find it loud? have you used a software to increase volume previously?

For those one 5.0, can you change your ring volume?

I can't any more. Its been this way since the update. Every time I try to change my ringer volume it changes my in-call volume, even when I am not in a call. I always have to go to the settings menu to change it.
No issues for me. All volume controls work as they should.
yep im also having no problems with ringer volume. it must just be you sorry bro
My volume works fine except when using Motorola assist it sometimes resets the volume louder.
