remapping hardware keys - XPERIA X1 Android Development

is it possible to have the buttons like this (comparing with the htc magic, sort of)
power button = screen on/screen off
power button hold = power off device
ok button = back
xpanel button = home
left silver button = menu
right silver button = search
camera button = toggle flashlight
camera button hold = start camera
i know a few of these are already the way they are but is it possible to do this?..

Looks nice. But android supports keymap like that?

well if you look at the htc magic or hero youll see all those buttons that i listed with the same functions... EXCEPT we have a camera button (camera doesnt even work yet so who cares) and we have a power button..
it would be a LOTTT nicer and easier to have the power button do the screen on/off..and th power down the device..
im sure theres a way, i just have no clue how to go about it

remap home key and ok key

Hi, I'd like to remap the hard keys as follows:
- Home key -> Start menu
- Back arrow key -> OK button
any clues about what registry entries are these two hidden under?
Telling me the button code is enough... thanks.
Maybe this one helps. Can't test it myself as i have no Diamond yet.

The OK-button might be:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C2
nope, no avail - have checked 40C1 to 40C7 but the only thing that fires an event is the green phone long press (40C6), others no avail (
new info - I have found the key codes using AE Button Plus as follows:
- Home button = #00ED (+no flag)
- Back button = #405C (+Win flag)
continuing research...
( No, I simply do not want to use AE Button Plus... )
Any luck on the research?
afaik, once you run touch 3d. The home key will always overwrite by it.....
HButton
I am wondering about the hardware key's to
I use a program (Hbutton) to give more functions to a hardwere button,
only key in HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Keys called "40C6" (the call button can be used.
does anybody know how to add the rest of the hardware buttons?
- back
- ok/enter
- home
- end/ divice lock (does someone know how to change the hold time)
- up and down?

I have ended up using AE Button plus. It doesn't initially list the buttons, but you can add them from the file menu.
Now I have control of all my buttons.
but jamesd256, do you know a solution without using AEBplus ? maybe just in modifying registry....

[Idea] Function Key + Shake can do more?

Today I've think more what can we do on Diamond. Then I think maybe we can add function key + shake to do more. Like:
1) Hold Down the Vol Down Key + shake horizontal = Play Next Music/SMS/Email/Photo (As user config)
2) Hold Down the Vol Up Key + shake horizontal = Play Previous Music/SMS/Email/Photo (As user config)
3) Hold Down the Action Key [The Round Button] + shake to Right = Move the TouchFLO3D Tab to Next Right Tap
4) Hold Down the Action Key [The Round Button] + shake to Left = Move the TouchFLO3D Tab to Next Left Tap
5) Hold Down the End Key + shake = Close all application
6) Hold Down the Phone Key + shake = Open the Contacts List
7) Hold Down the Back Key [←] + shake = Switch to Next Running application
8) Hold Down the Home Key + shake = Open your favorite application
9) Hold Down the Power Key + shake = Turn the LCD in WHITE and MAX the Backlight, So Diamond become a supper flashlight!
10) When not press any key + Rotation = Auto-Rotation just like GSen
11) When not press any key + move to front / back = Scroll up / Scroll down
See the Diamond can do a lot of things and iPhone can go back to home
Maybe if can open those setting for user then they can custom the action what they need will be best for all people ^o^

MIUI - Screen capture

Hi,
When I try to do a print screen using menu + volume down, the picture that is captured includes the "silence ringtone" window that pops up (relating to the pressing of the volume key). Can the display of volume be switched off?
Also, is there any way to select different key combinations? I am using a soft key for menu (Button Savior), and hitting that with the volume down key is more miss than hit - about 2 in 25 attempts!
BTW, I am using MIUI 1.8.5 ROM.
TIA
Elkay
I even cannot do screen shot by using Menu+Volume- buttons. Actually I want to know if there is a way to define sofkey in Button Savior.

I haven't been able to repeat a capture, but I have 2 screenshots as evidence it is possible.
I haven't found any way of defining a softkey in Button Savior.

[Q]Dedicated camera button

Is there anyway to have an dedicated camera button?
Instead of having to use the screen button, use like volume up/down or even the lock button to take pics?
Try KeyNumberTracker from the market to get keynumber required then use ButtonRemapper to remap it!!
