SetCPU/JuiceDefender advantage? - Captivate Themes and Apps

Is there any advantage to using these programs? I have both installed, but I'm not seeing too much of an increase in battery life. I've been unplugged since around 7am, and I'm down to 71% battery. Here are my settings below. Please chime in if I am doing something wrong, or if you have seen any advantage to using these programs. BTW - JuiceDefender says my battery is at x1.07, which seems awful low since I've seen people in the x2
SetCPU:
Main: 1000/400 | on demand
Charging/Full: 1000/800 | conservative
Battery < 50%: 800/400 | on demand
Battery < 20%: 400/400 | on demand *
Screen off: 200/200 | power save
*I notice when I'm on this setting, the phone becomes almost unbearably slow. Slow unlocking, slow wake up, and sometimes slow performance
JuiceDefender:
Timeout: N/A
Schedule: Enable data for 1m every 15m
Night: N/A
Battery: Keep data disable while below 15%
Traffic: Leave data enabled while > 50kb/15s
Peak: N/A
Apps: N/A
Screen: Leave data enabled while screen unlocked
Location: N/A
GPS off, Wifi off (most of the time, cause I cant seem to get a lock at work), and the only widgets I have on my screen are:
Google Search
Google Buzz
Maps
Abduction (game)
Google Talk
DoubleTwist
Power Manager
SetCPU
Beautiful Widgets (smaller home) - updates every 2 hours, but doesn't even seem to get the correct weather outside

When I had my phone set up well (prior to my stock i9000 flash) i was getting 1.79 better battery life.

Battery Leak - Help Appreciated

Hi all.
I'm experiencing some sort of battery leak, but nothing is jumping out at me. Went to bed ~ 95% and woke up to ~ 20%.
Battery Use Stats:
Cell Standby - 44% (TWS - 0%)
Phone Idle - 45%
Voice Calls - 6%
Display - 3%
Dialer - 2%
Here is the software info:
Firmware - 2.1 Fresh Toast
Baseband - 2.42.00.03.10
PRI - 1.70_003
PRL - 60664
Running OC Widget on detect settings & autokiller on aggressive.
Using SpareParts - Partial Wake Usage - Calendar has the largest bar above Android System (yet I really don't use the calendar for appointments).
Any thoughts/tips/tricks would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Jerry
I'm assuming you have reboot the phone?
In addition, on your OC widget what your setting for screen on and screen off?
I'm still playing with setting that best for me and the phone. However, this is my current setting for OC widget: for screen on 729600 for min and Max and screen off 245760 for min and max. I saw if I did't select differ freq for screen off, the CPU was run at same speed at screen on. Compare the 2.1.1 I'm getting average 8-10 hr of battery. I'm guessing OC might drain battery faster. Maybe I'm wrong.
Yes, I have rebooted since loading. I used the auto-detect settings for the OC Widget, but I guess that could be an issue. 8-10 hours of battery seems low to me? I was getting near 24hrs average (some higher, some lower) on Fresh 2.0d.
Here are the settings:
OC Widget Settings:
Screen On - 245760,384000
Screen Off - 245760,384000
I guess that could be an issue.

Strange I have mine set higher than your for screen on.
Still battery hr for me. I know 2.1.1 I was getting at least a day an half with moderate use.
Like abcdfv said what your awake and uptime?
Up time: 20:35
Awake time: 5:57
Awake time looks good.
Try this setting on your OC widget:
480000 min and 576000 max. It may or may not help.
Thanks for all of your help.
Would this be for both screen on & off?
Screen on.
For screen off I have mine set at 245760 for min and max. So far battery life is OK. Since unplug at 7:45 AM (100%) and now it at 66%. Few calls, web surfing and facebook. Roughly 1 hr 20 mins usage of phone and 4hr 30 mins standby. I know compare to 2.1.1 it not great battery life.
Thanks - I'll try that.
So far, I might head back to Fresh 2.1.1 if this battery life stays like it is running Fresh Toast.
You could also try running RegawMod, I have had noting but good to say about the ROM so far and battery life is wonderful! I use Strict I think on ak though., stay around 60MB free ram if that helps at all.
Thanks for the help. I decided to factory wipe, wipe SD and cache. I then flashed Fresh 2.1.1 and my battery life is back to normal. Might play with Fresh Toast some more later.
Thanks for all of your help.

How low can ur battery usage probably go?

Hopefully xperia users to conserve energy while the battery driver is fixed.
PLS state:
1) screen on idle battery usage xxxmA (no airplane mode with screen on)
2)standby screen off xxxmA
3)as much as u can on what u did, which build
4) any other optional tips.
PS. Use the currentwidget from the forum to check. Do not download from the market as it is older and xdandroid will show 0mA (incompatible)
1) mine is 220mA
2)standby 190~210
3) started running with LCD density- 190 on first boot , default in tremeres 27/9 build is 200.
Advanced task killer - under security set to low, restart the app and kill EVERYTHING. Absolute minimum backlight.(That's all I think)
4)Running music during standby helps abit...
Anyone out there has a better battery usage?

Saving Battery Life

I have been making some changes to my Nexus One lately because I was having some battery life/drain problems.
Here is my current setup:
ROM: MIUI 1.11.11
Kernel: Tiamat_N1-v4.1.0
Radio: 5.12.00.08
WiFi Sleep Policy set to Never
Brightness is Automatic
Not that many apps installed; no rogue apps
I just listen to music, browse the internet, and occasionally play games. (Not 3D games that require a lot of resources, just casual stuff)
No, I have not calibrated my battery yet- I'll worry about it later.
Does anybody have some tips for how to help increase my battery life? Perhaps another kernel is better? etc
All help appreciated. If you have a question, feel free to ask and I'll get back to you ASAP.
You should change brightness from automatic because automatic will constantly work in the background to check if the screen needs to be brighter/dimmer.
Also get setcpu and use this basic setup:
Main Settings:
Scaling: On Demand
Max: 998
Min: 256
Profiles:
Screen off -> Scaling = On Demand, Max = 576, Min = 256
If you're listening to music while your screens off, you may want to bump up the Max to 614 for the screen off profile if you're experiencing slowness, if not keep it at 576.
That should help your battery last at least a 10% more relatively speaking.

Let's list some battery tips

Hey! I've just bought S5 yesterday and I know it's still premature to evaluate my phone's performance. I've made my first 100% to 16% with the phone and my stats were.
Phone on: 18h
Screen: 3h
Bright auto -5, wifi on, 3g on all time.
I find it is not as much as I expected but I must admit there was an update in between of the OS, and many updates in the play store which probably drained my battery higher than normally. Then I've checked tips for reducing consumption and that what I made:
- install battery guru
- disable syncs in google account
- disable updates in play store (notifications and so)
- disable some samsung apps
- disable gestures and movements
- location on power saving mode
However, my intention in this post is to gather more tips you are using with samsung rom (no root). Disable accounts or whatever you do...
Anyway, I guess I should expect an improvement in the battery life in coming charges...right?
Thanks!
Battery guru even sucks more battery than its saves, because it needs google service -.-'
I use:
Faux kernel - with my own tweaks, for hopefull best performance and battery life. OC 2.7
Greenify - to Slumber apps / System apps (Paid)
Unbounce - to lower the wake ups etc. (Paid)
BootManager - For faster start up / Battery saving
Stop Log - Turning off trash for speed up and battery life
Everything is turned off except:
Wifi - When home and somewere were its not locked.
Mobile data - Always on
Removed:
Idunno what its called but it has a blue icon and beammode?
Turned off:
Svoice
Samsung Link and that other samsung like app
Samsung push
Software update
Phone Screen:
Depends on were im at:
Home: 50%
School: 30 - 50
Work: 50%
Gaming: 50 - 100%
Movie: 50 - 100%
Background:
Black saves more battery and mine looks cool ^_^
Faux Settings for me, higest what ive got so far using it is 17 hours phone use, with 4:35 screen time on and it was still on 24% had to charge it because of my date
CPU Clocks:
Max: 2726400
Min: 300000
Gov: Intelliactive
Cpu hotplug:
intelliplug
Touchboost turned on
Screen off Frequency: 729600
intelliplug = Balanced (4)
Thermal Manager:
Chosen everything that was recommended
GPU Manager:
msm-andreno-tz
CPU clock control: 578
rest is stock
I/O Scheduler: both row - 1024
Same Page Merge:
Iltelli-KSM Enabled - left the rest stock of it
Miscellaneous:
Power suspend modes: Userspace
Power suspend turned on
tcp congestion: westwood
Rest is stock
I would love to change the black/gray to Pure black, to save more battery life, Gravity box could do this trick, but the app froze my phone somehow, now that its gone it works fine like before. so if you can change it do it.
Thanks! I've removed battery guru. I know that without rooting phone I may not be able to disable many things but I guess I can avoid some wakelocks coming from the pre installed software. Right? Which of them could be? Should I disable Samsung account? Any app that replaces S health in using the heart rate sensor? I think this is the only functionality I would have to keep which needs a Samsung account
Summing up , things that could make android os and system android reduce

My #1 tip would be before you look at how bad ur battery is. realise these are smartphones. and we buy them because of connectivity. why buy a smartphone if you keep turning of its ability to be smart
these phones run HD displays constant internet connectivity and all sorts of sync options
Sock12345 - I don't have it rooted yet. I'm thinking about it because I don't want to have the warranty avoided. I don't know how is the law concerning this in Spain. However, I would like to root it so that I can find out thexactly drainers and get rid of them. I will check this possibility
-PiLoT- you're totally right. Maybe I am asking too much to the phone which works incredibly well. But I have the feeling that some pre installed apps maybe battery drainers. Maybe they do not drain as much as I think...

Question S23 Battery Optimization

S23 has been reported to have excellent battery life.
However, do you guys still optimize it for even better battery life?
Below are what I have done on previous S22 because of it's notorious battery life:
1. Followed [GUIDE] [NO-ROOT] Complete Samsung OneUI Optimization
- Most settings applied
- Phone set up without Smart Switch
- Adaptive Battery disabled
2. Installed [App]Galaxy Max Hz (Refresh Rate Mods, Screen-off Mods, QS Tiles, Tasker Support and More)
- Adaptive Refresh on Power-Saving mode On
- Adaptive Min 10Hz, and Max 120Hz
- Force Lowest Hz on screen-off (10Hz)
3. Settings
- Sync disabled
- Always-On Display - Tap to show
- NFC, Location, off when not in use
- Power Saving mode 24/7 (Thanks to Galaxy Max Hz app, 120hz still remains)
I am honestly blown away how good the battery life is. I was used to barely 5 hours of sot with my OP7T and now over 10 hours while I have two sims active all the time, bluetooth connected to my watch, AOD always on and rooted device with plenty of root apps running in background all the time. I tried to discharge it during one day, but I failed. Yesterday I had 8:15 sot while 30% left and I am quite a power user (reddit, youtube, social media, 2 hours of pubg, some taking of pictures and more). And I havent even started to optimize the device myself (like uninstall or disable the preinstalled apps, galaxy max hz app and more). I will, once I have more time, but from the battery perspective it is not even necessery.

I checked this topic. It's crazy so many things he disables. The smartphone has nothing smart left..
And the most curious thing is that he kept animations ^^
I was about to suggest you to put 0x to all three dev options
You will feel your phone snappier and I guess it is a battery optimisation.
