Thanks, Herwood!
Would not be a stretch to imagine Froyo coming for the UK Milestones either then.
This August is going to be a long month!

Mid to end of september? That means i could get it as a birthday present =D

Eh? Where is that info from? Does this mean that Motorola made up their mind about Milestone getting FroYo after all??

Gingerbread upgrade coming June (SG)

According to HTC, Gingerbread upgrade for Incredible S will be on June for Singapore.
"Dear Alexander,
Thank you for contacting HTC.
With reference to your query, Incredible S may receive upgrade to Android 2.3 in June this year.
Thank you for your continuous support of our products and services. Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
We look forward to be of service to you again"
That's pretty slow, my opinion.
Better late than never? LOL
June....I hoping we got the update in April. I guess June is about right. These next 2 months the phone should be out there more in one variation or another in the Canada, the States and some more places overseas.
In my opinion to HTC's reply is earliest is June.

True ....
If it will be as with the Hero, then the update will be released at Christmas time, at best
This has alreayd been posted before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014937
and I'll say what I said there again. Customer services just give a generic date, until HTC make an official announcement, they don't know anymore than we do. I have already seen a couple of leaks of the GB rom floating about (nothing that can be publicly released or flashed due to NDA's) but I can't see any reason for it not being sooner
When it launches as the droid incredible 2 here in the states it will have gingerbread pre-loaded, so there would be no excuse to not have the INCs on GB before that, verizon ad's a ton of crapware to the device and not to mention cdma vs. gsm, we should get gingerbread before the Dinc2, at least I hope so.

[Q] Gingerbread Update for Austria?

Hey guys, is there an gingerbread update for hutchinson 3 Austria??? If yes, where can i get it from?
Regards
There is still no gingerbread-update at all. Not in Austria or somwhere else in Europe.
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
when do u think is it going to be released?
Hi,
I can just tell you the information that has been spread through germany: gingerbread shall arrive in October 2011. An exact date wasn't told (as always)
I think austria will follow simultaniously as there is - technically - no difference between the devices - we do speak the same language and the band is -afaik- the same ;-)
Only provider-settings and branding-work or there will be the thing with "oh before we can rollout, we will have to get the ok from google"...
So I'll be waiting until end of october and then get on the nerves of the LG customer support... AGAIN :-D
Cheers,

HTC VIVID

Read a site the other day that basically read as ics is available for update to the Vivid. Ill look for the site again and post the link. Any truth to this?

No truth to it. AT&T Software update is showing no updates available currently.

Should've been moved to the trash.
ICS isn't officially available for any device now. HTC says early 2012 for any of their devices.
I did read that our device will be avaialbe in early 2012 but nothing for a while i assume.
I would Guess Feb. or March if HTC stands by early 2012 release date.
yes it will get ICS
source:
http://techdweller.com/?p=40
I can see where the confusion came from just by reading what HTC's Statement was.
" We can confirm the brand new HTC Vivid is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich"
I can see how if that is out of context or someone doesn't know that ICS isn't even on the market yet would confuse people.

Finally, release date for Tmobile Note 7/11

This was posted by someone else on this same general forum about 5 days ago. A second post is always good incase people didn't see it the first time. There are some real assholes on our threads that complain about everything so don't let it get to you when you get a flood of people being rude about you making this post. Just ignore it!
are there plans to release it to any other carriers than tmobile? just curious....

I don't think so. I think this is gonna continue being a GSM only device. Other carriers may get it around the world but I doubt Sprint and Verizon will ever get it. There was a rumor in Jan that VZW & Sprint were getting it under the name Journal but that has since been proven to be the codename of a different device.
Thanks
Good info
Omg double posts lol just kidding its a good read no matter how many times we see it thank u

The question is will it be the same hardware as the At&T version or the international version? The pictures indicate that more than likely it will be the same at the AT&T but why would T-Mo phone have a LTE modem? It would be great if it had the same specs as the international. Just my .02 cents.

There hasn't been anything concrete announced and it keeps getting pushed back. All we have is hearsay.
You already asked this on the ICS thread an hour before you started this thread. You got an answer, so why the f*ck would you start this useless thread if you already got your answer?
If there was any concrete news about that, you'd know it. Close this thread, Hulk...
No news, it comes when it comes
And now we wait for the hulk to work his magic in this thread

Let me check my crystal ball for you real quick. No. Can't say a thing. Because there is no country called Europe. Geography tip: Europe, surprising as this might come to you, is a whole continent. Like North America, South America, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica. It consists of 50 separate countries.
So with this new info in sight, let me check the crystal ball again. No. Sorry. No luck again. Even the crystal balls don't know when exactly ICS will be available...
ICS will never get released for the International p990 because that will take away potential Optimus G, etc. buyers. The fact is they already had a working ICS since May and probably have a polished one now but chose not to release it after some marketing research. Personally they are right, having ICS on my phone will make me uninterested on buying new ones. They only released ICS for the SU660 because it was only released in South Korea, a relatively small market and won't hurt their bottom line.
I guess s3nr1 may be right. but there is a down fall in that perspective, some lg clients are already unsatisfied with this, and may choose to buy from another company like samsung and htc, Optimus G is that smartphone with the most powerfull cpu, but and the rest? software is more and more the better part of the hardware.
This may happen after Christmas, because it's buyers activity grow point in Europe.
what s3nr1 said, makes sense, but i hope lg doesnt think like him
Supupa said:
He has a valid point of p990 of lg not releasing ICS officially. Read his statement more thoroughly.
In short, by releasing ICS for the 2x many users won't have to upgrade their phone, for another year at least, impacting on lg's profit from new device sales.
Honestly, I myself think they will release it. But in December sometime...

If they don't upgrade P990 to ICS, I highly doubt any P990 user is going to buy another piece of electronic hardware that has to do with LG (including the Optimus G or whatever it's called). But if they do give us the upgrade, there is still a small chance they'll keep some of the current customers.

I think he has a point. No one would buy a Optimus G but it looks like we'll get an Optimus Nexus - and a lot of us would buy phone where updates are handled by Google.
I don't care though, I have no plans to run stock anyways hehe.

I think what LG will do is first draw all available customers to their new releases, and when the initial sale dies down, they will come out with ICS for the 2X and the other phones. So they will make their money, and will then consider keeping the customers did not upgrade to the new models happy.
