Hiding Apss - Droid X Android Development

I use app vault to remove apps from my app drawer that I do not use often. Restoring them is quick when I need to.
I could delete them now that I am rooted, but some of them are convenient at times.
The only issue I have is I have to reboot the phone to refresh the app drawer after hiding a app. Restoring is not an issue.
Any ideas on how to force a refresh of teh app drawer without a reboot?

Use Launcher pro.... No reboot needed to achieve the same result.

I agree, use launcherpro.

+1 launcher pro.
agreed launcher pro has that ability to hide apps in the app drawer, with no reboot required...

Also Titanium Backup allows you to "Freeze" and "UnFreeze" apps. For those that dont want to use Launcher Pro, yet still hide apps.

[Q] Enable notification access for app *solved*

Is there some kind of trick to get the setting to enable "notification access" for an app? In the system settings this is not available... I have root.
*Update*
After searching and trying, i found a solution for myself
You need an app that creates a shortcut to an activity.
I used Nova Launcer and created a shortcut to Settings$NotificationAccessSettingsActivity.
maybe with Xposed? i tried with an app from play store but no luck

Thank you man. I also used the Nova Launcher Shortcut. Locate it by long tapping, selecting widgets, selecting Shortcut and then scrolling down to the Settings Activity Notification Access Option.
This method also allowed me to access "Apps with usage access" using the Settings$UsageAccessSettingsActivity. Thank you!
By the way, initially I was having issues adding widgets/shortcuts to the Nova Launcher homescreens. If anyone else is having this issue, it can be solved by installing/converting Nova Launcher to a System app. Apparently this grants it some additional otherwise inaccessible permissions by default. Cheers!

stock launcher

Hey guys has any one had issues with the stock launcher. I install new apps and they do not show in the app drawer. I even word data from TouchWiz home and they still don't show. Using a third party launcher they show just fine but stock hit or miss if they actually end up in the app drawer. I can search for them so they are installed but if I got locate it does not show it in the drawer.

Open the apps drawer and hit the 3 dots in the top right corner.
Select sort and choose Alphabetical rather than custom.
I believe this may be your issue...

Another Critical Issue with Android 9 Pie for #MotoOnePower*

When you switch app(s) while clicking Recent Button a weird problem pops. Out of nowhere "Moto App Launcher app" comes up in recent apps and within the "Moto App Launcher app" It shows the preview of another list of the same recent apps. When you click it does nothing. Please go through the attached image for a better idea about the issue. Seems like the issue with Android Pie for #MotoOnePower not ending soon.
I tried to stop the "Moto App Launcher app" but seems like it cannot be done. I'm using Nova Launcher. [And yes I'm NOT USING the New Gesture Navigation System, as it does not work with other third-party launchers yet.] Please help.

Well, I cannot view your attachment somehow. But that is a problem which occurs when Nova Launcher isn't set to the default launcher. If it still persists, try disabling the suggestions for the stock launcher and disabling the notification access of action services and moto app launcher before switching to nova. Hope this solves the issue.

I was facing similar issues. Changing default Launcher to Nova Launcher and Disabling Notification and Usage access for Moto App Launcher didn't help.
In the end, I used the solution suggested in https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/ to resolve the problem
I did disabled the "com.motorola.launcher3" using https://www.xda-developers.com/disable-system-app-bloatware-android/ but never uninstalled it. With that, the only issue I face is getting the old recent view. Will try to uninstall it. Thanks.

Hide work profile apps?

I have some duplicate apps showing in my drawer with a little briefcase due to my work profile being enabled. Is there a way to hide these in the app drawer?
Unfortunately no. You use to be able to in previous iterations of android before Oreo but not anymore...

For anyone looking for ways to hide work profile apps from the drawer, have a look at SRT Vault . Similar to Shelter or Island you can control the work profile. But more than that, a file transfer in and out and the disable/hide app functionality is provided. It's free and in active development.

Recent Apps (square) button not working AFTER upgrading to EMUI 10

Hello
My "Recent Apps" button isn't working so I'm unable to use it in order to cycle through the apps I have open.
Cant do it also with nav button or gestures.
This happened after upgrading to EMUI 10 yesterday.
Long press on square button works.
I am using NOVA louncher.
(I also uninstalled default louncher few mounths ago through ADB shell. And after update to emui 10 there is just NOVA louncher.)
Any idea?
Yes, use stock launcher.

Can't use it on other launchers. See my post here on how to reinstall through ADB Huawei launcher
Sent from my VOG-L29 using Tapatalk
Had the same problem, the only solution for me was to reset the phone
So basically you can't use 3rd party launcher if you want to have access to Recent Apps?
Is there no way around this. I don't want stock EMUI 10. But I really want Recent Apps.....
God damn Hauwei.

Recent apps works fine with other launchers, probably if you disable the stock huawei launcher it causes problems, but if you leave that alone and just set a 3rd party as default it works fine

You can't with Chinese EMUI installed. There's no option for another launcher - you have to remove it.
