[Q] PDAIR Book Case? - HD2 Accessories

Anyone here tried the PDAIR Book Case on their TMo HD2?
If so, your review?
How well does it fit?
Quality? Workmanship?
Protective?
Does it hold the phone securely, even when the cover flap is not fastened?
How much bulk does it add?
Also, when you hold your phone to the ear on a call, is the book screen cover flap uncomfortable? (Not sure which would be more comfortable (or less uncomfortable) in that regard--book or flip (landscape or portrait)? I like the looks of the book one.

Silicone cases?

How are the silicone cases suchs as these http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=xperia+silicone&_sacat=See-All-Categories
from Ebay?
I have never seen one in real life. Is the phone harder to operate with the case? Does it bulk up the phone too much?
I used to own a HTC tytnII (without a silicone case) which is slightly bulkier than the Xperia, and so if I could handle the HTC's slight bulk, then I would assume the Xperia w/ silicone case would be of similar size, no?
I wouldn't get a silicone case, they are very responsive to touch and uncomfortable.
I mean responsive as in they always get in the way, and you know how silicone is, it flexes and it bends.
They also feel uncomfortable for me.
This is about silicone cases for all phones and mp3 players.
I'd rather let me Xperia scratch than to be protected by that obstacle.
i would have agreed to u ..but the battery cover of my X1 got little scratches from coins in the pocket and now i am worried.
maybe leather covers?
those silicone cases do their job for a cheap price, I've used a few of them on a few makes of phones & they've been fine, but idd regards they feel a bit weird at 1st as in their like a condom but once u get used to them their ok I'd say.
Or you can indeed go buy a leather case & they vary from cheap .HK 1's to proporta etc... again I've had a few, even used expensive 1's.
I'm currently using a silicone case now & then with my diamond but mostly I have it in a leather flip style case, also got 2 leather pouch style cases...
My advice to any 1 who buys an expensive pda/ phone is to protect it 1 way or another with either a case or a pouch oh & always fit a screen protector also
Or don't care & get your pda scratched or chipped etc...
I had similiar one when I owned Touch Pro.
the fitment is ok (not the best) but I think the quality is at best average.
I just bought this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Silicone-...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Since I like silicone cases better than regular leather or pouch ones.
Silicone Cases are Great
I've been using silicone cases for years. They do not bulk up the phone, and they give great protection. All the ports are available, and the buttons usable. And, they're inexpensive!
is the optical pad covered using the silicone case?

Yes, they block the pad, at least the ones off of eBay do (I just recieved one)
There are some rubber cases that leave that area uncovered. You can find them on eBay as well. Although I don't now how the keyboard slide function works out with those.
the ones from hong kong off ebay are not very good, I have stopped using mine, so anyone thinking of buying one just avoid them.... I can post some pics if you want....
Clear Plastic Instead of Silicone
You might want to try a clear plastic case. I bought a couple from Ebay and like them better than the silicone ones. The ones I bought were about $3.25 each. Since they're clear, the allow the beauty of the phone show through. Plus, none of the buttons are covered.

I've got the scosche foldio & really like it because it hardly adds any bulk to the tab.
Hi,
I would advice you to at least buy 2 case.
1. Foldable leather case with at least 2 landscape standing position groove
This one for premium feel & function outing.
2. Left, right & back protected transparent hard plastic case
This one for light & casual outing.
I'd also recommend the Zenus case, which isn't on the list. I got mine last month, and am pretty pleased with it. It's leather and adds some thickness, but it still fits in my coat pocket, but not most of my jeans' back pockets. I may break down and get a lighter one late Spring, or might just carry it around naked.

+1
The Zenus is a very well made case, it looks classy and isn't bulky, doesn't cover any of the screen and the stand on it is solid and works well. I'm very pleased with the purchase, unlike the stock Samsung case which is quite poorly designed.
Yeah, after some weeks searching,
i found my favorit

Melkco Leather Case
I'm also looking for a tab case - great post with the video links. Since I'm new to the forum I can't post links, but google:
Melkco leather case galaxy tab
and it comes right up.
Retails at $69 USD. Pricey, but looks great.
otterbox case after a few drops i still love it.
I absolutely loathe cases where you have to slide the Phone/Tab into.
Not only are they difficult to put in and remove the device but they obstruct part of the screen and when you are swiping the leather edges can get in the way.
I much prefer the type that allows you to 'clip the Tab into place.
This method is easy to insert/remove and does not restrict the screen in any form.
Noreve do one (see here fore link) ~ This one has the added advantage of additional pockets for cards, notes, etc. and can be used as a stand to hold the Tab in Landscape.
Plus you can design the case to your own liking.
However, it's missing one vital ingredient for me and that is I would like to be able to remove the leather part that covers the screen.
I've seen cases where the case comes apart allowing you to remove the top screen cover which in turn makes it easier to hold and use the Tab when standing and if you put it down and want the screen on but not in it's stand you don't have a top cover flap hanging off at the side.
So... anyone seen a case similar to the Noreve but has a detachable screen cover?

It's an interesting design and as always the Apple brand gets the 'prettiest' of designs.
Not sure about that release mechanism though.... I'd rather have the top cover come completely off thus ensuring the sides and back are still protected.
Scosche Foldio is the best, no added bulk, easy to put in jacket pocket, even in a the back pocket of my jeans, easy to take out and show off if needed and makes an awesome stand.
I really like the Samsung Slide Release Sleeve. It protects the tab well but lets you get it out easily to use it. The Tab is a sexy device, no sense having it hidden away all the time!
I also have the "d30" leather travel case (from Carphone Warehouse) which is really nice for travelling (makes a good stand) but unfortunately it partially covers the soft buttons which can make it a pain to use.
I just received my ' Case Mate - Barely There '.
It is exactly what i was looking for. Not scared to place it on the table or sunroom floor anymore in case of scratching the back. I think the tab looks excellent in its all new black look
Now hopefully it will fit in the Brodit holder for my van
aha! TY for these links! helped me decide on 2 cases.

Review: Rhino Holster Combo Gel/Hard Case

I purchased this case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A4251PI/
Very similar to, if not the exact same case as the ones on eBay being purchased until Seidio cases come down in price. I would've preferred black, of course, but I'll settle for garish red for a few bucks less. I'm only intending to use it until the Seidio Active combo shows up at Best Buy, or pops up on Amazon for $35-40. At that point, I'll switch to black or Seidio's darker red color.
The case feels surprisingly solid for a $10 affair, with hard-shell protection on the corners and a bezel raised a little bit more than a TPU or mesh hybrid case would have. I'd still have reservations about dropping it from any significant height, but I try to avoid doing that to phones in general. The kickstand looks flimsy, but I left it down when I set the phone on my nightstand last night, and it made it through the night without falling. You do have to reach behind and snap the bar holding the nightstand out into place, or it's liable to collapse. All buttons are covered, as well as the micro USB port and the headphone jack. The S Pen and mic are left open for obvious reasons. The buttons are very easy to press, and the S Pen is easy to access, despite have the case around it raised significantly. Camera and speaker are also recessed by a good amount.
The holster is similar to the Amzer holster, one that I have serious problems with. Hint: don't waste your money on the Amzer case. It's junk, and they charge you for shipping both ways. I've paid a total of $10 in shipping to return an item I paid $15 for, as it says on Amzer's website to use a trackable method, as they're not liable for packages lost in the mail. Every time I've seen a company post that on their website, I've discovered that shipping without tracking means they mysterious never receive the package. But enough about that Amzer piece of crap.
The holster has 180-degree rotation, from sideways facing forward to upright to sideways facing back. Unlike the idiotically-designed Amzer holster, this one does not cover the home button. The phone is secured by two side clips and two clips that wrap from the side onto the bottom, giving--you guessed it--corner protection. The S Pen is largely covered by hard plastic, as opposed to the Amzer holster, which left it completely (and I mean completely, as it's not covered by the case on that model) exposed. The holster belt clip does double as a kickstand, but that's a useless feature on this case. The case does not fit into the holster facing forward, only facing in. The screen rests against a soft-lined surface inside of the holster. It's a very snug fit, and the phone is almost hard to get in and out. Pretty confident that will change as the case is broken in. Of course, my biggest issue with the Amzer holster is that it took all of three days to break. Hopefully this is not going to be a case of history repeating itself.
Long story short, it's a decent-enough case to hold you over until the Seidio cases show up at Best Buy. If that opinion changes during usage, I'll update. For $10-12, though, you can't really go too wrong with this one.
I liked the hard/gel hybrid case from this in conjunction with the Seidio active holster. It is a little thicker that the the seidio active case and has flaps to cover the usb and phono plugs. It fits like a glove in to Seidio Holster as well. Might be a good in between combo for others.
Isn't this the same case as the ones in these threads?

Best Galaxy Note II Flip Cover Case?

I just got my Galaxy Note II and I did not like the Samsung OEM Flip Case it came with. I feel like it only protects the screen if the phone ever drops, and if it happens to hit any of the four corners in a drop, the phone would be done for. I've been looking into wallet cases, but most of them are magnetic and seem to interfere with the S-Pen. Does anyone know of a good flip case that snaps onto the device itself, similar to this one?

I would advise you look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968655
Magnetic catch on flip cases
I recently bought a Zenus case which I like a lot. The only thing I am not keen on is the press stud on the front so that whenever you close it you are pressing a bit on the glass. The Zenus case I got a long time ago for my original Galaxy Tab has a magnetic closure and this is really good. However, I am confused about whether magnetic catches badly affect the S-pen usage. Some reviews mark down cases because a magnetic closure interferes with the S-pen. Is this true of all cases with magnetic closures? Are there any flip cases with magnetic closures that do not affect S-pen use?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Momax-Smart...5?pt=PDA_Accessories&var=&hash=item35c35a5c19
i just ordered one of those. it has a full tpu case on the phone plus a multipurpose leather flap attached to it that allows it to act as either a vertical or horizontal stand. it also fixes the thing i hate the most about flip covers - camera use. with most flip covers, the flap just feels flimsy, dangles everywhere and gets annoying. with this one, you can fold the flap back, and fold down a portion of the leather to stop it from obstructing the camera. quite useful.
the black and brown flap versions have a dark brown-ish semitransparent tpu case. the other colours all have a transparent tpu case.
it also has a magnetic lock on it as well.

iPulse Genuine Full Grain Leather Case Review

iPulse Journal Series Leather Wallet Case for the Galaxy Note 8
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074Z5TMY9
This is the first wallet-type case I've used with the Note 8 and it seems have everything I would want in a leather wallet case. It's smooth good quality leather, no jagged edges, multiple inner pockets, and straight matching black stitches.
Most importantly, it has a strong magnetic clasp, which is one issue I have with the wallet cases Samsung usually offers. While leather wallet cases aren't designed for maximum drop protection, having a strong magnetic clasp will prevent the phone itself from hitting the pavement. There's a gratifying snap when you close the cover and the flap won't separate unless you pull it with force.
A plus in my book is that the phone is kept in place with a soft TPU case attached to the leather. Some manufacturers like Samsung choose to use a polycarbonate case-like portion to hold the phone in place but the bottom and top of the phone is usually exposed to the elements. I had no issues inserting and removing the Note 8 from the TPU portion and it holds the phone securely. Phone port cutouts are where they are supposed to be, but be advised that the TPU does not cover the power, Bixbie, or volume rocker, which means the already shallow buttons are more difficult to press.
The brand logo is out of the way and is on the bottom left of the backside. It has a clean design on the front with no lettering. One thing I would have liked to see is an earpiece opening on the front of the leather cover so I could talk on the phone with the cover closed, but flipping the cover behind the phone is not too much of a burden. This choice also gives the front cover a cleaner look, like a leather journal would have.
I would recommend this case if you're looking for a simple and clean-looking genuine leather wallet case for your Note 8.
Mine need to push the magnetic piece where it connected to your phone away from the phone, so it wont affect S-PEN
how about yours
