Getting Storage Memory Error Message - Touch Diamond CDMA

Hi Everyone. I keep getting a Storage Memory Error Message. It says that the Storage memory is critically low and if not increased...... It then continues to state to use File Explorer to delete files no longer needed or move some files to a storage card. To be honest, I have no idea what to do ie: delete which files or how and which ones to move. Any advice? Thanks!

Inside the Internal Storage, it should have two directory, MUSIC and CONTENT. Could someone upload it?
Are you having a problem with your internal storage folder?

Jreach, I'm having the same problem as you. I had access to my internal storage and lost it within 20 minutes of receiving the device. I can't reformat using Clean Storage (mass storage cannot be accessed) nor can I see the internal storage using memory, storage card (no card installed message). All of this happened PRIOR to connecting my phone to the pc.
When I use active sync (and Windows Media Player to sync music), I cannot see the internal storage. Windows Media Player doesn't see it either. When I use file explorer or whatever the other option is, I see a removeable drive on my PC. I cannot reformat it. If I double click on it on my xp machine I get an error message saying the "F:\ is not accessible, the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."
Given that, I suspect we will not be able to fix this and must return our Diamonds to Sprint. Please let me know if you find a solution. Thanks.

Internal Storage Problem

During file transfer from my PC to my Diamond the process was stuck, then i have looked on my diamond and couldn't find Internal Storage via file explorer.
via memory manager there is a message of " Total memory card: not installed".
so I did a Hard reset but still there is no Internal storage, also tried to format the Internal Storage but there was no access.
PS, My diamond is not a sprint.
how can I recover my Storage?

If I'm not mistaken, when you have the phone connected to your PC as an external hd, you cannot access this storage on your phone because "it's in use" by your PC. When you connect via Activesync though, you can access the external storage.
Solution
Found the answer from a sprint forum. This fixed the problem for me.

how can i free more sapce from program memory?

Hi All,
how can i move things from program memory to storage memory?
Thanks, Lior.
Do you mean just transfering files from phone memory to your storage card or moving progams?
yes, just transfering files from phone memory to your storage card and also moving progams
For the regular file transfer just sync your phone to your computer. Click the explore icon in the upper right corner on the activesync. Click the my windows mobile device. Then open the file that has your backup files copy them to the storage card folder, and delete them off the device. That is how I do it some one might know an easier way.
As for Programs I had to reinstall and have them instal to the card.
Hope this helps.
My problem is not the storage free space on my phone. the problem is that when i open some software after a soft reset i got a message that saying "you don't have enough memory to run this application" i need to release 15mb and i don't know how to do this, i've tried few software but it still a problem now i have 8mb free.
please help me!
Thanks, Lior.

What is a VOL file? Having a storage problem . . .

I have an 8000 MB storage card and I keep practically everything (pictures, music, big programs like HTC Home Customizer) on the card. The card has about 20 MB of room on it still. Lately however I have been getting error messages that my device storage is critically low. The device storage available is 113.55 MB and I am using 113.30 MB. I have tried locating large files in storage on my device to either move them to my card or delete them, but i can't find anything that would be taking up that much room. When I search my device for files larger than 64 kb, there are a couple pictures in main storage and everything else is on the card. However, when I used file explorer to search for files myself, I found a 16 MB file in the Windows folder called: mxip_initdb.vol. The properties say it is a VOL file that is a read only, hidden, system file. I also found a folder for "Volatile" in the application data folder but have no idea what it is for. It's been awhile since I put anything new on my device, so it may be for a program I forgot about, but I am wondering if it is some spyware or something. I just can't find any files in the device's main storage memory and I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
