I used it this morning on Fresh Rom 2.1.1. No problem.

Same here. I can't confirm it's in others but it's in fresh. Are you talking about Goog's implementation? if so that is due in 2.2.

Well, one, the people who put out ROMs for this leak (other than Flipz) only put out a flashable version of the RUU's rom. nothing special in it, no patched su or sh. Tkirton enabled a2sd in his init.rc, but until someone else patches those things, Fresh 2.1.1 has it. Man, he got that out fast!

I am using wifi tether 1.6 in RUU_Hero_C_Sprint_2.27.651.5_R_signed_release from damage on the may 14. Works fine for me.
i downloaded that from app from the new market. didnt work. says i need to be rooted. now that my phone is no longer rooted, im stuck.

"Latest Leaked" 2.1 ROM needs WIFI Tether 1.6 Not on Android Market so google "WIFI Tether 1.6" and you will find a CNET download that works.
Has anyone managed to use Skype on CM7?
I use the latest March 4th update with JPY modem, and have no luck with Skype. It won't login and sometimes throw the FC message.
I tried it also with JV1 modem. No luck here either. And because JV1 has a lot of other bugs, I installed JPY back.
I think skype have got a global problem with android phones. I try it too but I never log in. We have to wait for some fix
Skype works fine with Firmware 2.x but not with 1.6

Yes, but some people do report it working for them...
Work arround to make Skype work
You have to edit build.prop (I did it with SGS Tools from Market).
Find ro.kernel.android.checkjni=1
and change it to ro.kernel.android.checkjni=0
Reboot the phone and...
That's it.

Got it to installed just fine! I am able to chat with no problem but when I try to do video the screen goes black for a sec then comes back to the contacts list. Has anyone been able to get this work?
You have to have GB 2.3.4 in order to have the Video available in Google Talk. there are couple of thread which shows you how to do it manually.

Gingerbread version 2.3.4. Most gingerbread ROMs are only at version 2.3.3, which won't work with the new talk. Vanilla AOSP Gingerbread v1.02 appears to be the only ROM that currently has GB 2.3.4, but I'm sure the other GB ROMs will be updated to 2.3.4 soon.

It works on 2.3.3 but no one had tested it on the gtab yet. The latest CM7 stable is 2.3.3 but I went and updated to the 2.3.4 nightly because the g talk video app worked on my phone. I have the same CM7 set up on my gtab but no dice. Video chat is all I need to make this tab perfect since my phone doesn't have a front facing camera.

I'm using Calkulin+Clemsyn 1.5ghz Froyo Combo VERSION 8 final (bootloader 1.2 only) and I can't get facebook to download from the market.
Anyone got the latest apk?
i don´t know if you are refering to update the facebook app or download it entirely.
I was able to update it but dind´t like it too much, i am currently using pure messenger and k9 for pure and it is really nice you should try it.
by the way..... after i installed Calkulin´s rom i also installed the 11th verison of clemsyn´s kernel for the 1.2 froyo bootloader and it gives me usb support.... maybe that did the trick

I cant update or even find facebook on the market.
Have you tried the market fix?
it worked for me.
When I checked out the software update from settings, a update showed up and i installed it. But I got no clue what I installed and what changes have come up.
My device now gives the following as about description:
P7300XXKJ6
Kernel 2.6.36.3
Build HTJ85B P7300JPKL2
