What does this say about my phone

That you took the screenshot at 11:08 p.m.? Are we playing "I Spy"? ....I give up.

I just mean...
I saw a post and people are getting scores in the 20s and 30s and mine was 3.... is there something I can do to make my phone faster

I think you are confusing FPS (Frames Per Second that Neocore gives you) with MFLOPS (Million Floating-Point Operations Per Second). Your Hero can get as high as maybe 5.4 MFLOPS, at least that is the fastest I have seen.
All of these are arbitrary measurements that probably mean very little. it is easy to get caught up in it. I run CM6 and consistently get 4.7 MFLOPS at the stock 691 overclocking. If you hero can tolerate faster processor speeds, it will go higher.

Overclock vs. JIT

Which is more effective at speeding things up?
Thx.

At this point in time, overclocking will give you the best performance. JIT is still a test type thing. Its not official, so consider it like a very pre beta version.
It wont be until android 2.2 "froyo" that we will see a huge impact with JIT.
Thanks for the info!
I prefer both at the same time. The problem with Jit is it doesn't play nice with sense and I get random reboots with it. The upside, with Jit and overclock I've gotten benchmarks from linpack over 5 mflops. More than double my stock scores.
Me too. I posted my scores in the fresh thread, but off the top of my head, testing 5 times and discarding highest and lowest, I averaged 5.1 mflops on linpack 6something on benchmarkpi and 31fps in neocore.
how do you guys overclock?? SetCPU wont let the Hero go beyond 528mhz

You have to have a modified kernel like FreshToast.. I am getting speeds of 768mhz
is there way to enable jit on the newest fresh toast 2.1

heroc overclocking

hi I was wondering how high you can over clock your hero. I have to 758 mhz and it is perfectly stable. Is there any thing i can use to over clock it more.
768 is the highest I've seen.

I've heard that 710 is really the highest you can reliably run, I wouldn't risk the damage just to go that little bit higher.

Thats all I have seen to. I did here that you could get it a little over 900 MHz.
LOL, it would probably catch on fire at 900.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe this.
Mine is closked to 691 and it totally stable. If I push to 710 it starts to become less stable.
Can you show us screenprints ?
Im running 2.2. ShootMe doesn't work on this rom, go download and test for yourself.
im also running 2.2. if you wanna try it out for yourself download ([Rom] Darchdroid v2.7 "KangSlayer" | Complete, OC'd, MMS, Camera, Everything!!) I am at 768 MHz. I use setcpu, profiles. when the screen is off its at 518 MHz.
sry because i am new i cant poste urls

Mine is stable at 787 also.. Ever hero is different.. Iv also been running OC since the day toastcfh figured it out over 2 months ago. I have ran 768mhz min and max for an entire day with no problem (i was benchmarking and forgot). Some people cant even run 710mhz without there phone becoming unstable.
Also 768mhz is the clock speed most kernels are maxed at cuz the highest clock speed the hero can be clocked to with a benefit is 768mhz (darch will include 787 in his kernels sometimes). 787mhz will actually give the same or worse results as 768 because it, in a sense, clogs the CPU. We cant raise our FSB of the cpu.
Toastcfh, the reason who got us OC, has actually pushed it as far as he could go. He got way higher then 787. But like i said, there is not benefit of it.
Our phones wont blow up or stop working because the speeds are high. If you keep the temps down you really dont have anything to worry about, temps are the main reason why OC will kill the life of a CPU.
Awesome Information, Thanks.

[Q] Achieving High Linpack Scores

Ok, so I've experimented a LOT with different ROMs, different kernels, different overclocking etc and I just CANNOT seem to break the 48.333 barrier. I've achieved this several times on CM6 nightly with Wildmonks 1190 kernel.
Tonight, I took a few different ROMs (Rods, CM6 & NAZTech Plain) and modified them removing anything that could drain resources such as Maps, Messenger, Voice Search, etc etc. I re-signed them, flashed them AND flashed Wildmonks experimental 1267 kernel (maxed JUST below because 1267 is an insta-freeze) and I STILL only achieved 48.333 max.
Any tips?
I mean, I'm happy with my phones everyday performance, I'm more or less just trying to clock a linpack score in the high 49's for S&G's.
(The linpack record for N1 is like 50, showing an overclock kernel of 1300 but I highly doubt that as I've never heard of an N1 achieving even 1267 without lockup)
my highest score was 47.6 I think, and for about 2 weeks I kept running linpack days and nights to attempt to get higher score
But after second week I gave up, I could get around 47.6 and no higher.
Anyone?

Nobody at all can tell me how to achieve better scores?
1.267 was achieved by 'the jesus phone'
Mine was 41.01 with Stock Nexus One (Froyo)
Now (with the new version of Linpack) I can't get more than 34.9xx

The Jesus phone isn't even in the top ten for Nexus anymore. Check my signature. I hit 50.525 3x using Wildmonk 1267 kernel experimental. OC 1228 mhz stable. The highest for the N1 is 55 legit. Persian.
what is the ideal setup to achieve maximum mlops on the nexus?
1. Rom?
2. Kernel?
3. ?????
Why are benchmark scores so important?!
I find that just using my phone on a daily basis, being able to complete all the tasks I need, and do it with style & grace, is enough for me.
My Nexus still outperforms every single device amongst me and my friends.
I can do way more things, etc. etc. you all know this.
So why bother with trying to get the highest Linpack or Quadrant scores?!
BTW: I read a post the other night in which Cyanogen himself stated that cheating on benchmark scores was easy. so ... hhmm.
Because we can?

@uoY_redruM
How come I can only score around 36 on my Nexus One? I did full data wipe, cache and dalvik wipe. Then installed CM6 RC3 and wildmonks kernel 2.6.35_SVS-950mV_CFS_AXI_720p_1113MHz_081910. I've also installed SetCPU and overclocked to max of 1113. How can get this above 40?
Jesus' phone was fast, but not as fast as mine!

Don't trust in the top devices list.
It's too easy to cheat
I can show you if you want it and put any MFlops you want.
So here is my advice : Use linpack to improve your device, but never compare your results to other, that make no sense.
I wish greenecomputing can solve this, maybe I should contact them.

Yeah, you might be right, however this popped up while driving right after flashing CM6+Wildmonk's 1113 kernel and shocked the heck outta me It's real, not faked....probably inaccurate, but real.
No worries, I didn't mean yours is fake
I just wanted to warn people about the reliability of the list and tell them to use Linpack as a personal device benchmark (ie after a ROM update) and not like a competition because some results may be totally fake.
well i was getting same scores with stock froyo, so just wondering why when overclocked with WM kernel and using CM6, shouldn't it be improved??
I personally usually get about 36 I would love to get 45

Fastest Hero Kernel?

So I have a random question here. I've got a buddy that has his original G1 overclocked at 1.2Ghz. I was pretty impressed by it and figured if the G1 could achieve that, then the Hero has to have at least a kernel up to 1 Ghz. Any thoughts on this? I really don't care about overheating the phone, I'm just tired of the lag. Right now I'm clocked at 728 Mhz.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
You must do more than overclock to improve responsiveness.
I can run a stock, rooted and just by deleting many, many items, the phone is very fast(responsive).
Typically, the Hero will dislike clock speeds over 710. Some can run stable at 768 but not many.
Well, honestly. I really don't care what my Hero likes. Lol. I once had a Palm Pre running at 1.2 Ghz and it was blazing fast. I don't really think that storage space really makes a huge difference, it more or less depends on your clock speed.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Good luck, man. If you just want to ramp up the speeds, try the standard voltage kernel. Found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705074
I would say use the v4 version as it runs the stock(I believe)voltage. There also may be others that other users will suggest; Im not a pro by any means.

low fps in CSPortable game

I usually get 10-20 fps in CSPortable,
My rom is Zeus v1 and my quadrant score is 2000.
Is there anything to do with this problem?
I've already tried chainfire3d with PowerVR plugin but no improvement.

problem? sgs2 gets 20-25 fps so if you get anything more than 10-12 it is more than ok. I get around 20+ average on my o3d. So maybe it is a bug with phone builts as lower end phones get higher numbers (droids,sgs1).
20N is just a little slower then CM7+Nova11c.
on 20N i get around 2100 quadrant score and on CM7+Nova11c i get 2900 quadrant...
you can try it on CM7 but i also play the game and i got around 20fps

quadrant is the most useless benchmark of all. It shows pbone on stock roms to be slower than it was under froyo while just by using it for a few secs it is clear that gb it is a lot snappier than froyo. All in all there are numerous benchmarks out there that do a decent job instead of quadrant which is lame. just take a look at how much I/O score counts on the overall final and you will get what I mean...
