Gallery 3d with access to Picasa public albums. - Epic 4G Themes

I would like to ask to community to help out in a request to a developer.
Some of you many not know that the 3d Gallery app on our phones is NOT present in all 2.1+ android devices. While the Gallery itself maybe present access to Picasa is missing in some Sense based roms.
There is a fix for this being developed and is available in the market under the name, 3D Gallery. Here is where I would like you help.
At present the dev is doing nothing more then trying to make a clone of the gallery. He has just added Picasa access, but you will need to give the app your log-in details. This is not something that many users are willing to do as Picasa generally speaking is tied to the users main account.
What I would like to see is the dev give access to Picasa public galleries through username alone along with the ability for full access if both user and pass are given. Granted you will not be able to upload if user and pass are not given, but thats not really a big deal.
I think the one thing Google overlooked with the 3d Gallery was the ability to view albums you mark as favorites in your account. This app has the ability to give us this function, we just need to let the dev know that we want it.
This would be the PERFECT way to share wallpaper with each other, without the need to actually take up any storage on the phone itself.
I know Im not the only one that wants this, so please help out.
Send a copy of the following petition to the devs email address.

I fully support the petition to add access to selected Picasa public albums inside of your 3D Gallery app. Access to said galleries should be entered through username alone and/or full web address.
Adding the ability to view public galleries gives us the perfect method to share wallpaper in a way that does not require using the phones storage.
Thank you for considering our request.

Means of automatically posting images/videos?

I was wondering if there are any apps that would automatically post (via any blogging script, I'm willing to install and setup anything free) a picture or video using the 'share' feature in android. Alternatively, an app that will upload it via FTP would work as well, and I'd just use a script that generates a blog-like posting sequence from a directory of media. Does such an app exist? If not, and if this is something people would be interested in, I may try to develop it myself, seems like a simple first project.
'Qik' is supposed to allow you to post videos onto youtube, twitter or facebook. (I haven't tried it.)

After further research, there seems to be a service called pixelpipe that sort of does what I'd like. The problem is that it has very limited support for self-hosted solutions. All the APIs it supports for self-hosting support pictures only, and remain stored on the pixelpipe server.
HOWEVER, there is an option to upload straight to an FTP server, so I'm going to pursue that for now.
Pixelpipe has a twitvid app that works for twitter.. but the volume is very low on the vid.. i need to find a way 2 turn up my mic

[APP] SyncSMS - Synchronize text messages between tablet and phone

SyncSMS lets you sync your text messages between your Android phone and tablet. SyncSMS lets you sync your text messages between your Android 2.1+ phone and 3G or WiFi-only Android 2.1+ tablet. This app lets you receive text messages on your tablet which have been received by or sent from your phone. Also, this app lets you compose text messages on your tablet which will be copied to your phone and sent out by your phone. You will need to sign up for a free Dropbox account, if you don't already have one, in order to temporarily store the messages between syncs.
Please rate and comment on the app in the Android Market and click Submit to Portal in the upper right of this post to vote this thread to XDA front page, thanks!

How do we know you are not capturing our DropBox credentials? This looks suspicious.
nevermind about the logcat, the issue is that I need a production API key from Dropbox. i agree on your suspicion, so i have posted the app's source code to instill confidence. please know that this app is not distributable or modifiable though. thanks!

Prove that your app is safe to install and immediately asks for Dropbox credentials and fails.
i have posted source code to my app which clearly shows that i use the dropbox api which requires username and password for the first login, then returns an access token per user which is the only thing that is saved to the local databases see LoginTask.java and Utils.java.
the 403 error stands for unauthenticated user. this is due to my app's dropbox api token being only validated for my email address. the app will work as described after i replace my api token with a production api token.
i do not deserve to be banned at all

Maybe not but you cannot release an app that does not demonstrate that you are not phishing username/password info which your initial release does not prove.
you know, honest mistakes do /actually/ happen in the world. plus, it's not my fault that Dropbox chooses not to allow OAuth for android apps. i never /wanted/ to have to have a user enter username/password in the context of my app for exactly this reason

Yes they do and when you have a secure way to access the app, please let us know. Until then, I am not touching it and recommend that no one else touches it either.
They do not allow OAuth access forwarding from their webpage per their guidelines. For Android (non mobile-web apps), they say to do so as follows.
From Dropbox dev page:
"Authentication For mobile devices
Mobile authentication is done using a call named token that's in the Mobile API specification section. Token takes a user's username and password and returns a working access token/secret pair to your application that you can use from then on. It's a relatively simple process, but with one caveat: you cannot store the user's password in your application. You can store a username for usability purposes or in case re-authentication is needed. However, there is no reason you should store their password."
Now, I have more than explained myself extremely detailed and clearly, so please go elsewhere with your false proclamations and ignorance.

You expect people to willingly enter their username and password for Dropbox in your app that returns an error of forbidden?
jeez lets just see how this app pans out. Its a good idea and I know that the op has put out other good ideas out before.
Ill keep an eye on this thread. Thanks
instead of crying about it couldnt you just make another dropbox account for this
don't use the same password you do for everything else
problem solved. case closed. stealing your passwords or not, be smart and just make another dropbox account.
btw, i get my xoom soon so ill def. be looking into this app. sounds interesting
It seems to me that posting the source is all he needs to do here, if someone wants to challenge him based on what it contains, that's a different story.
There are tons of legit apps that use Gmail and facebook credentials. Just hooking into 3rd parties doesn't automatically make one a crook.
If you are going to smear someone, at least make the effort to show some evidence, jeez.

You are right and I am sorry for being a prick. But be careful with apps like these especially if they fail on step 1, sign into an account that fails immediately (dropbox). After thinking about this further, I should not have posted what I did and I apologize. It is not my responsibility for others security.
OP, thanks very much for your effort with this, I NEED SMS on my Xoom!!
Possible suggestion.. Maybe making a widget to turn on the syncing? That way when I am using the Xoom, just flip the widget on for both phone and xoom, set phone aside.. This way the time frame for syncing can be quicker, and when I am done on my xoom, turn the widget off, and it wont sync anymore (for the sake of battery usage).

[Q] Am I missing something?

So, there have been a ton of complaints about the facebook app on windows phone 8. Am I missing something? Why would anyone put an app on thier WP8 phone, when the People Hub ties all that together? I don't even have a facebook app installed, because everything I need to do is done from the hub.I can post an update, check in, see my notifications, whats new specific to my stuff or my friends that I have grouped exclusive.
So what am I missing?
Nothing. Some people are not used to having working things out of the box, so they just download apps to replace what the system already does.
My point exactly. I would even go much more further, I would ban all FB, Twitter... apps from the market since they r not needed at all. Instead, I would want some RDP apps for free, also some good database apps etc...
Good! I thought it was just me! Thanks guys.

There is quite some functionality in the Apps though that is not available in the Hub. It's conversation views in Twitter or Groups in Facebook. If you use those Features you can't rely on the People Hub alone.

Groups in facebook? Isn't that the same as Groups in the stock app? I don't do twitter, so cant answer to that. But still have found more functionality as well as easier interface when using the stock app on the phone.
I think OP has to look at things way wider. Maybe you just treat your phone more personal...
1)Facebook app can allow me lend my friend/families the phone and he can have a quick look at his facebook. (more social)
2)Facebook allow me to take control of another account I own( not saying about pages though, not sure WP8 facebook app can allow users to manage the page we owned)
3)respond to friend request.
4)As for myself, I have subscribe to many funny pages and news ones, the endless timeline give me look at what I have missed unlike the facebook/twitter integration,it does limits certain number of news/tweets and we can't scroll down after that.
I think these are the things you missing, might be more when compare to facebook apps on other platform since facebook app on wp has lesser feature.

Yea, my friends are goofballs. If I let them have access to my phone, I get crazy posts on FB, and my profile picture suddenly changes to a crotch picture. So, no one gets to screw with my phone except the better half (and now Jr thanks to Kids Corner). But then again, I do the same to them!
And I don't have more than 1 facebook account, but I see where you can add accounts, so maybe someone who has two accounts can try to add an account under thier different one? Might allow it, although, I think it would merge the two, which could become confusing.
And I have not noticed friend requests, so will have to see if I get one recently and see how that works.
I see where your coming from, guess since I am not a power user I don't utilize all the capabilities that FB has, nor the native / 3rd party app.
Thanks for clarifying, FINALLY some one did! Thanks!
Groups are not the same as WP Groups (well, something similar exists with the lists Feature but that's an entirely different Topic).
Facebook Groups can have members and have there own pin wall, calendar, etc. You can use them e.g. to bundle all the Information on a certain Topic like e.g. when you are part of a certain Club. To my knowledge I can't Access those from the People Hub.
I'm only using two of them but those pretty frequentlly. There are other Features not used by everyone but rather important to others that are not available in the People Hub.
Thanks for the info!

It's missing a lot of the interaction you'd get from the website or a third-party app, for instance:
The messaging app does not pick up Facebook message threads, for one (Just chats).
You can't edit your own status updates.
You can't friend/unfriend people.
The Facebook People Hub is meant more for getting the basic info on people that you have on your contacts list and to keep them in the loop on you. That's it. I think these limitations are by design.
