Stock Launcher for the Vibrant that you can Fully Remove Twiz Launcher permanently - Vibrant Android Development

Due to Samsung Permission set on there shared uid, we have came into a problem on the Stock Vibrant ROM that we can't remove Twiz Launcher without having Force Close issue's.
This is for Stock user's with root that wish to remove the Twiz Launcher..
File attached..
btw, I love the Wallpaper with this one..

anyone give this one a try? I'm willing to do it when I get home.

Gonna give it a go will post back.
Edit: Its hanging on install for me anyone else?

What's the difference between installing this, or a different replacement launcher such as ADW or Launcher Pro?

Nvm just read the post above me...... Had no idea this had an apk inside the zip.

Why would I care about uninstalling the twiz launcher? I never see it since I installed ADW from the market.. A far as I an concerned, it is gone.

It runs faster.

How? The twiz launcher is not running on my phone. Task manager confirms that. So how could it be faster?

Well answer me this. Why do you delete blote ware? Is it to save memorie? That would be why you want to run this app. If you delete touch wiz it will free up space. Hence telephone runs faster.

I keep getting an apparently not installed message?

You do not install the launcher.. It will never work try to do adb install, you have to push it into /system/app.

I really like this, it's basically the stock launcher with extra options for customization. I just wish I could change the number of home screens, then it would be pretty much perfect.

[App] Touchwiz 4 (GS2) port working on NS4G

Hey all,
I dont know if anybody is interested, but here is a working version of the Touchwiz4 Launcher that I can confirm works on the ns4g. I am using right now on MIUI. This is pulled from a rpm that I used to use on my epic. It is fully functional, no problems that I can find.
I did not develop this, I simply pulled it from a rom on my epic.
Credit goes to marcusant and whoever the original porter was.

Root Explorer to system/app and doesn't show after a reboot. tried to install apk as normal and says app not installed. Any ideas why pushed to the app folder and instal won't work? Any other ideas to get it installed?
I backed up the original as email.apk.bak so it is there to redo, but didn't remove any other email items from other folders.
Hey thanks for the port,
Quick question I'm already rooted, the apk installed without a problem, but I only get two apps at the home screen. Sms and app drawer. Can't put phone or any other shurtcut plus i also don't have touchwiz widgets.
I'm rooted and in stock rom, do i have to be in a deodexed rom?
Thanks

To put other apps in the dock. You have to enter the application drawer and from there drag whatever apps you want on the dock

I put the app in sdcard/downloads, go to that location with file manager or root explorer, tap the app and install, works fine.

[APP] Xperia Active Launcher apk

Hey guys, just seen this and thought maybe it would be pretty cool to share with you guys. Seems to be a launcher designed for Sony's Xperia play, and I gotta say, it looks pretty cool! From what I've read this ONLY WORKS WITH 2.3 GB ROM's. Anyone on Froyo is also welcome to test it as well, but just a heads up, 2.2 ROM's seem to cause FC's with this app. Enjoy! And remember to thank the OP of that thread...

It's not formatted properly for our screens, and for it to display like the screenshot, it requires a build.prop to Sony Ericsson. I have it installed but it installs and it looks like like the regular arc launcher.

[ACS][Theme][EH06] The Unthemer

This is exactly what the title says. This is a flashable version of the most commonly themed apps to return your phone as close to stock as I'm willing to upload. This will also remove the lockscreen, hotspot, reboot, and silent mods from your phone. I also included the twlauncher30 in this.
It will not uninstall apps such as the new transparent facebook, or other non-stock apps. Those can be uninstalled with root explorer or app like that.
Flash just like you would any other theme.
The normal disclaimer still applies. You flashed it, you wrecked it, not me.

Because there are several themes that included a themed tw30 launcher. It can easily be removed. The main goal of this is to return you as close as you can get to stock without having to wipe your data.

Touchwiz 4 for Samsung Epic 4g!

***PLEASE NOT I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKED
DEVICES OR ANY ERRORS CAUSED BY FLASHING THIS
APP***
Do you want TW4 on your Samsung
Epic? Yes you do. Believe me. Ever since I got my first
TouchWiz-powered device, I really hated it, and found myself
using other 3rd party launchers instead. But ever since I
upgraded to a rom that came with TW4, I immediatley found my
new launcher. It was love at first site. I've worked very hard to get
TW4 for all Epic 4g owners.
To install this amazing launcher, first
make sure you are rooted/deodexed. (but who isn't nowadays??)
Next, make sure you are on Clockwork v3.1.0.1 or higher. Wipe
cache and delvic cache 3 times. Don't wipe data unless you want
all your stuff to be gone (TW4 isn't worth THAT much) install the
.zip from your SD card, reboot your epic, and enjoy.
Hasn't this been out for a while now or is this something different
So you basically stole this from someone else's work?
Congratulations. We've had TW4 already =)

I never flash tw4, I take the two apks, and place them in system/app, and remove the original tw, fix permissions in cwm, reboot
Idk if this is the same as the OP, but this is the most stable version I have found. So naturally, I saved it to my dropbox lol

I never used it because it doesn't scale right. At least at the resolution I'm at.
But way to flame right off the bat y'all. First post, let alone first thread. He's only been a member since the 19th.
Thank you for the thought! I did the same thing with MIUI music a few months ago.
If anything we should dog on you for not using the search function first.
Haha welcome to the forums!
EDIT: Actually now I'm surprised. You are rooted and on a custom ROM. You even put up a disclaimer! Experience...troll? Nah. Maybe you've been doing this for a long time? And just now made an account? TELLL MEEEE WHO YOU AREEEEEE?!?!?!
All the previous releases of TW4 for the epic never worked. If this is another attempt i welcome it, cuz it seems as everyone else gave up chasing the dream. I'll give it a shot.

I have been using Froggers version for over a month. For those that said it was buggy and they would get fc or lockups I had the same thing until EG22 and EH06. Since EG22 and EH06 came out it has been perfect. Not a single issue.
This seems pretty stable... However, i wiped the cache 3 times and flashed, nothing... So i extracted the apk, renamed it and replaced it using root explorer. Once again, the Program Monitor widget doesn't work, but it a small price to pay... Kudos!

Too lazy to find the thread myself, but if you look in Samsung Galazy I9000 themes & apps forum you will find a heavily modified touch wiz 4.5. I have been using that.
It looks kind wonky in landscape, but it works pretty good. Not the smoothest launcher out there, but still looks nice.
Good looks I just flashed
this over eh17 its better than the old touch wiz I like how you can go from screen to screen just like the galaxy s2 Epic touch its great I seen it on the s2 video yesterday now my epic can do the same thing I was wondering if someone could take that feature& put it on a ROM or theme?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
TW4 always seems good at first, but then it started giving me reboots, freezes, etc. (that was on EG22, hopefully EH17 won't have the problem)
As great as it is, I don't think it's worth it until we get TW4 widgets. Now that would be awesome.
I already have the tw4 plus widgets on eg22
