Android Firewall is free in Market now.

aFirewall in Market now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
aFirewall allows you to configure multi-scenes to block different call or SMS at different time. Its features are as below:
1. You can add black number from call log, SMS log, contacts or add it mannually;
2. You can setup aFirewall password to protect your private black list;
3. Unread blocked call log and SMS log notification;
4. Option to disable and enable aFirewall blocking notification;
I had made it free in market today. I am looking forward to your comments Thank you very much.
(Not installed yet since I have Panda Firewall installed)
Does it come with a toggle widget for SMS blockage?

There is no toggle widget in current version. This is a start for aFirewall. Many features will be added in in the near future.
Can I ask a question about this....
Does the call blocking feature block the call completely? I tried Panda but found that blocked calls would ring briefly but then go to voicemail, so I would still get notifications of missed calls. You can already block numbers with the Hero (send to voicemail in contact settings) so I found it pointless.
Does this app block calls to the point that you don't know if a blocked number has called unless you look at the log? This sort of thing is what I'm looking for.
Thanks.
Edit: Double post

Thanks for your attention. No ring and notifications of missed calls will be reported out in aFirewall. You can contact me to get a copy to make a try at first. My email is [email protected].

I have some comments:
1. It still make the notification on screen after the call (even disable notification) but did not show in the call history
2. When I block sms as "Accept contact only", it blocked all SMS from my contact people. For example, number in contact is 0902239000 and contact in SMS is +84902239000 (always show that) actually is the same but the program did not know.
3. When I block sms as "Block unknown number" then sometimes it can block the number not in the contact, sometimes could not.
4. When I block the call as "Accept contact only", it block all call from my contact

Call Blocker Program?

What is the best call blocking program for the aria? It needs to have a whitelist to only allow people I specify to reach me. Thanks in advanced
Not exactly a direct solution on the Aria, but doesn't Google Voice allow you to filter calls? Again, I don't know about blocking.. but at the very least you can direct calls you don't want directly to voicemail.
i actually found this option today while going through my contacts. if you actually choose a contact and view his/her contact information. there is a menu down option to automatically send that person to voicemail whenever they call. i've already set a few to that option, but have yet to test it.

I tested it today, works GREAT!!! the phone doesn't even ring they just go right to VM
i use an app called Driodblock. there is a feature in it that tells you to block all calls except for your contacts (under scene mode). i think that is what you are looking for
i use it to block telemarketers or any unknown calls, which is what it's useful for. it does however tell you that the person called, but you dont hear the ring or anything, it goes straight to voicemail. you can also set it up so that that person gets hung up on so they dont get vmail LOL
the only problem is that if you search for droidblock in the market app, it doesnt show up. you have to search under "block calls" and it'll show up.
Yep, the two best ones are made by the same company:
Root Call Blocker (for general use):
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.beta
Call Master (for advanced users):
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.blacklist
These are the only blockers that completely block everything without turning the screen on. Need to be rooted though.
I use the option under contacts if it's someone I would rather leave a voicemail than talk to.
I use an app called call filter for numbers where the caller id is unknown. It has additional options for blocking specific numbers, but I've never needed it.
I've registered my phone numbers on the national do not call registry. I don't get telemarketing calls. If I ever do receive one, I will go to that same site and report the number. I've only received two telemarketing calls in the past 4 years having my number registered there.
You could use blocking apps to help you
Some apps on the Google Play provide you esay ways to block the unwanted calls.
Such as WhosCall, Call Blcoker ,Mr Number, Caller ID and so on.
You could try it. But don't install all of them at once since it would make your phone slow.
I usually use WhosCall which can search the strange phone number and provide a easy way to block them.
Hope it could help you.
We make the two best ones - root call blocker and call master. Both in my sig. Enjoy.

[Q] Q Definition of "unknown" incoming callers?

Running gingerbread, which has an option built in to do call blocking and an option within that to block "unknown" callers.
Now, to my way of thinking there are THREE sorts of incoming callers;
1/ 123456 Fred, already in my contact list, he is calling to say Hi
2/ 234567 Jim, not in my contact list, he is calling to buy my car
3/ ??????? Tom, his number is hidden, either because he has chosen to hide it, or because he is calling from an office behind a pbx that hides numbers by default, he is calling to upsell my car insurance
Now, I want to block #3, but not #1 or #2, and yet to me I would classify #2 as "unknown", so using the built in or third party call blockers will block Jim, which I do NOT want to do...
I ONLY want to block people with withheld or hidden numbers
I DO NOT want to block people who do not have withheld or hidden numbers, even if I do not yet know them or their number.
So can anyone clarify the definitions, as far as Android and various apps are concerned?
TIA
call blocking unknown numbers will block calls from people that withold there number, the calls that you get but when you check the number it says 'Unknown' so i think it will do what you want it to do.
Press thanks if i helped you

Private number dialer?

I have to use my phone for work and I dont want everyone I have to call to have my number. To ensure this, I use the *67 every time I call someone. This works, but I was wondering if there was a dialer that I could install in addition to my current dialer that would block my number when I use it for work. Thanks guys.

You could try google voice, that wouldn't stop them from seeing the GV number but they wouldn't have your personal number.
you could use sipdroid+googlevoice to add an extra number to your phone.

Blocking Calls/Texts

So I am looking for an app that will block calls and texts. The only ones I can find only block the numbers that you put on the blacklist. But I want to find one (if it even exists) or at least find a way to just block any call that is not in my contact list, including private/unregistered/blocked numbers etc etc. Cause I got my crazy stalker chik who keeps calling me from different numbers, and every time she calls me from a new one i add it to the list, but this chik seems to have an infinite amount of numbers she can call from hahahaha So i need one that will just straight up block any call that isn't in my contacts.
Finally after downloading like 20 different apps, i just found one, i didn't think it did what i was looking for at first, but i was looking through it again and it has the 2 settings i wanted. "Block call from anyone not in your contact list" and "Block calls from all Private/Unregistered Numbers".
So In case anyone else wants to find this app as well, it's called "Mr.Number" and it's free. It not only blocks calls but texts as well. And there is soooooo many different settings and preferences, so you can completely customize everything. You can even set it to block all calls from anyone if you want to. There are seriously a ****-ton of settings/customization's/preferences for this app.
Read about an app called NQ Mobile Manager on TechRepublic today.
can't post link but Google techrepublic and mobile manager

I have the same problem
I have the same problem before, but now I use some apps to solve that problem,
Such as WhosCall, Mr. Number, Number Guru and so. If you travel to the USA, I will say Mr Number is great for you. But it would collect your number to their database as well. So now I use WhosCall which is the one I use more often, because it offers more databases in Asia and Europe, which is very useful for me. And it provide much more strick policy for user's own data.
I have no experience with this but Root Call Blocker sounds like it may be an option.

I recommend you to try Blaclist (from AntTek Inc. on Google Play) in which you can block
- Specific number
- Number not in your contact
- Prefix/postfix/ pattern matching number
