Any other keyboards..? - HTC Aria Themes and Apps

The keyboard is awkward after switching from a iPhone, I found a iPhone keyboard skin but since the screen is small it won't put the keyboard on there. The numbers is in a odd spot to get to. Is there any other keyboards for the Aria?

i see two on page one of this forum and another on page 3.....

Swype is okay but takes some getting used to IMHO. I've been using Swiftkey beta and liking it.

My favorite is SwiftKey keyboard It's free in the market It's very good coming from a iphone my self. Its every bit as good as the iphones keyboard

The HTC IME mod keyboard is pretty good as well and you can make your own skins for it.

I'm digging Swiftkey. Tried Swype and like SK better. I tried typing as fast as I could in landscape mode and it got all the words right. In portrait it was so-so... but that is expected (and heck, I wanted a smaller phone, so I asked for less keyboard real estate).

I just saw this while searching for something new because swype stopped working as of today. First time I ever heard of SwiftKey and I really like it! Pleasantly surprised.

How do u use the skin ucreate?

You have to drop it onto your SD card and then use a file manager to navigate to your SD card and install it.
Once installed you go into settings then languages and keyboards and select the keyboard you just installed.
Once selected long tap in an input field and choose input method, choose your new keyboard and you are done.

Downloaded the swiftkey beta, used if for a day, liked it so much I took them up on their offer of a reduced price to buy the non-beta version on initial release(today). Good stuff and it was only US $.94.

One More Vote for Swiftkey
+1 for Swiftkey. In my mind it combines the best of a traditional touch keyboard and Swype.

Cool, thanks for this info too, I am going to try SwiftKey later on.
Am I crazy, I liked the keyboard on 2.1 over 2.2 or are they the same, just a different color?

SwiftKey Beta

Its the best keyboard I have used so far. Ive used the htc stock one, swype, droid x multitouch, and swiftkey is the best for texting. Its in the marketplace right now.
I might check this out. How does it work with Fat Fingers?
I just gave this a shot. It's definitely better than the stock keyboard for texting, the word prediction is great. However, my speed/accuracy easily surpass this with Swype, maybe it's just me (Slow with this/Fast with Swype?). But still a great find for those that don't have/want Swype.
In response to the fat fingers question, the letters are slightly narrower than the stock HTC keyboard, although the predicted words are on quite large buttons that makes them easy to select.
I just can't do swype. I need to look at the screen to find the letters and with the aria the screen is to small.

I installed and tried this out this morning. It's scarily accurate at predicting the next word (sometimes it knows what I want to say even before I do).
I'll stick to SWYPE for portrait mode texting (getting to be fairly fast and accurate now), but for landscape I'm definitely going to try out SwiftKey a bit more.

Yeah this application is pretty awesome at predicting text, and is my preferred keyboard at the moment.

A good keyboard?

I've been looking for a keyboard better than aosp and swipe (i hate swype so much.....). On both of those i make typo's constantly and the autocorrect sucks hard... Please let me know what keyboard you use and what you think about it.
I use swype because it's the poo, but I hear swiftkey is good...
love swiftkey!!
I second SwiftKey! Try the trial

I use SwiftKey as well, it's pretty good. I like it more than Swype I think.
I have used the android, swype, samsung, gingerbread, droidx, bestkb, swiftkey and smart kb.
Swype is the best for one handed typing. DroidX is decent, but lacks many options. Swiftkey has the best predictive text for the lazy typer. IMO, smartkb is the best for 2 handed typing, plus its options/settings are usable and not in excess.
All the others are a waste of time.
Skywalker offers a really nice wp7 keyboard. Doubled my typing speed. Its in rom manager in his modify existing rom folder

I personally like the HTC keyboard found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416
I keep wanting to like swiftkey, but don't see the appeal. Smart Keyboard Pro wins my vote.

I'll second this. SKP is probably the best I've used. The WP7 one is really damn good too - but didn't have haptic feedback last I tried it.
IME, swype is very good and I have used it more than anything else. If you rely on prediction I'd say Swiftkey. If you manually hit every key in landscape, smart key pro. In portrait its hard to beat swype though. Its nice to have several to choose from I think I have 5 installed now myself but I mainly rotate between the 3 aforementioned

Thanks for all the suggestions! i cant believe i didnt know about all of these. So far im loving the wm7 keyboard... it really does increase my typing speed by a ton, but the no haptic feedback is annoying.

Best keyboard....

So this is my first phone that doesn't have a physical keyboard and I'm having some trouble. I came from both Droid one and two and the LG touch so I have always had a physical keyboard and now without one I'm somewhat lost. So please anyone with a keyboard app recommendation please speak up!
P.s. I have big hands and tend to hit the wrong key because of that.

Swift key. It learns as you type. Once using if for a while it predicts almost everything you are going to type
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
I use flext9 because you can swipe the keyboard or use the keys normally, way smoother than swype IMO.
Sent over Al Gore's internet via a rooted Thunderbolt.
swype http://swype.com
Definitely swift key! It's so good at predicting your words that some times it feels like it's reading your mind.

I've been using the gingerbread keyboard found in market. I find it fast and accurate.

+1 for swift key.
Well I already had swift key from it being the free app of the day so I loaded it up and started using it again and so far so good everything is at least better than the stock htc keyboard so I'm at least happy about that.

+1 been using this one as well and I love it. its called "keyboard from android 2.3 +" in the market. when installed it shows up as "gingerbread keyboard"
+1 for flex t9 if you like swyping or swift key for just regular keyboard use. Although t9 can do both, just doesn't predict.

+2.. I use the paid version, so I can bring up the directional arrows as needed. At $0.99 it isn't bad.

+3 lol paid too, deff worth it.
Keyboard from Gingerbread 2.3
There's a free and paid version. Best keyboard available.
+4 for gingerbread keyboard
i love how fast it is
I've also been using the gingerbread keyboard from the market for a while now (even back on my Droid X) and I love it.
I have used swype, swift and the GB keyboard.
For texting, landscape or portrait they are great.
The problem is for emails. Once you lay the phone over to landscape and start to type an email, the kbd takes up the whole screen. Is there a way to shrink the keyboard say 20% or so?
I got Gingerbread, the paid one
I had the G2, and Swype sucks on a bigger screen in comparison, not to mention Thunderbolt doesn't even come with it. I downloaded it and said wtf is this. Idk if its the screen or just not being pre-installed
I use the HTC_IME keyboard

A.I.Type Keyboard reads your mind

If you use anything other than the stock keyboard, you have to try this:
A.I.Type Keyboard Beta (search the Market for "A.I.type").
I've used Swype since the first beta came out and this blows Swype away. It's faster and more accurate. It reads your mind!
Not only does the word you're looking for appear after you enter only one or two letters, it also autocorrects misspellings.
Try it, you'll love it!
So its Swiftkey?

It predicts similar to Swiftkey, but better. And it's free!

Definitely worth a shot.

Which keyboard?

I've been happily using a Galaxy S3 for the last two years, just got the Note 4. Pretty happy so far with everything except the size is a little big and tricky to use one handed...anyways....
I've been using Swype for 2 years, and I like the quick access to punctuation, copy& paste, etc. I know the default Samsung keyboard has swipe but it's not quite the same.
Am I the only one using Swype? What keyboard are you using?
I'd love to get the reliable performance, prediction, and punctuation of Swype but gain themes.
SwiftKey
The default is board is OK
My normal is SwiftKey
I also use google keyboard it's good as well
Google
Google keyboard. It's a good keyboard. I like the material design themes that are included.

I didn't like swift for some reason. Can't remember why ?
That link above, does it show previews of the available themes anywhere.?
SwiftKey for years for me.
The new Google keyboard is by far the best in terms of accuracy and speed. Plus the lollipop theme is awesome

How are you guys theming swift? does it support themes now? has it been that long since I used it? I've been using Swype which has no "themes" just a few color options. I'm just so comfortable with the way it works I tried another one called iKeyboard that use Go Keyboard themes (which are limitless) and its "OK"............just having a hard time cutting the strings from Swype I guess.
Yeah it recently started getting themes. I like the look that they are bringing now
