I also doubt it. I think there is still gonna be some heavy community action for awhile. Heck, most people don't even come up for an upgrade till September at the earliest.
well im running damage right now i was thinking about unrooting then flashing the official ruu just to test but i wont anymore, i will just stay where i am at now. thanks guys

For what it's worth I doubt it'll be permanent too. However given that no one currently has any idea how to do it, it is a definite possibility.

Yep. I live up in Jersey Village and work down towards the beltway and I-10 West side and it was HOT today. Had to stand outside my car for 5 minutes while it cooled down after work before I left.

I certainly hope people don't just ditch the thing, I'm not due for an upgrade till april of next year now and I am not laying out buku bux for that EVO. Phone tech moves too fast to keep this crap up lol. I just hope we can get root back so I can get rid of this F'in sprint 2.1 ruu. I didn't want it, didn't ask for it. I tried it on the previous phone, this is a warranty replacement due to trying to go back to 1.56 without a backup. It was a "favor"...mmmhmm. I want DamageControl back damn it.

Actually I think they said it would be soon and that "some phones would even get it in the coming weeks" and my guess is the version we have is the "coming weeks" version. But who knows..

Speculation is rife that Adobe screwed things up with 10.1 update and since Andy 2.2 touted Flash as a super feature, they have to sort it out before it is truly edible.
Hang tight and don't root your device just for Froyo since warranty claim can be a pain if you do so (refurb Nexus Ones are awful and not worth the hours you have to spend for a probable fix. I am awaiting the 3rd continuous swap, its been hell so far with HTC's policies. Let me know if you want to read about the whole experience, I wrote a lengthy writeup!).

First week of February started last Wednesday, which was the first of February, so yes, this is the end of the first Week from a calendar-point-of-view, and if they meant the actual END of this week then they damn well should have said so.

My week ends 7 days after the start of the week. Be that Mon, Tues, Wed... This is how we do it on Earth. I wonder about Archos' calendar! No big deal though. Maybe next time they dont make an announcement saying 1st week of February, with all retail units shipping with it by the end of the month. I really dont think they meant Q1 if they said 1st week and by the end of February..Also, we already had a Friday AND Saturday this month, effectively making the end of the 1st week that much sooner (by some's logic) So either way you slice it... 1st week of the month is over... Just saying. I HAVE been told im stupid before, so maybe me and thousands of other people just read wrong. And April 2013!?!? Were all gonna die 12/21/12! Thats not gonna work!

Up near the top of this thread you said "it's not the end of the world for me" but yet here you are, acting rather like it is, and in fact acting quite pissy about it. I understand your frustration and so does everybody else, but calm down. Also, many things have been pointed out to you: Archos is a small company, the is release will be one of te first few on tablets, and also you should consider te fact that it takes hard work to get something as big as this ready. So again, we all understand your frustration, but calm down.
Edit: I apologize, I meant in your other thread you said it wasn't the end of the world for you, I got the two threads confused.

And it wouldn't have been if they just said something about the release date and them not being able to make it.
Yet here we are and NO info what so ever... maybe you should have read the post closely, as that is exactly what I said.
I can understand Developers not meeting their deadline, but they should frickin' inform their customers about that, for crying out loud.
Or is that too much to ask in this day and age, even from a small Outfit such as Archos... really ?
Not sure if that was aimed at me, but I'll add that I was a dev at one time, so I do understand the time consuming processes (not for android tho mind you, I did windows app dev)

I got my first android in September of last year, within a month I was on xda, and by November, I had an account cause I thought I knew enough to help some folks. I do enjoy the community, even though leeches are always making devs angry (IMO, both their faults). I haven't been around as long as OP, but I know my way around the Nexus S, and android itself!

For me it has been awesome. Ive been impressed since the beggining till mow. How guys seen to know more about devices than now.
when I started the threads were a little difficult to understand. and everything was in one main page. where you could find rhe .cab files. but you had to keep scrolling down to find what you were looking. Now its all organized and eye candy.

Bro please stop that before you get banned! youre affecting the course of this thread. Im investigating abut how old is this thread and how long its been effective on the people. I think a great part that since 2003i the % of people buying smartphones has grown from a 20% to 90% has to in great part to forums like this. specially this one. people started to know about hacks and how they affect they to bennefit the costumer rather that the company.
Xda has been the pioneer when people started to know about roots and other methods of hacking the os of their devices. making them better. and having features locked by carriers. Xda has been there to keep this idea forward. and I want people to start talking about xda's evolution. and the we could take this info and make it a news letter for people to continue the tradition which we started years ago!:thumbup:

I for one part started to love this place when I had my Razor. I started to know about firmwares and hack. and every time I searched the web I ended here. there werent the hacks I needed then. That led me to my first account. but it was good to know this was there. and to read about people doing amazing stuff.
This led me to buy my first pocketpc-smartphone. a Treo 750 which I bought from second use and I still have it running a custom wm 6.5 rom with titanium.
Then I bought an Lg incite (wm) which kept me here but most of my time on lg-incite.com
the site grew and my fasination for htc too. not to be surpriced as most of the hacks where make for this devices.... check the history of the first diamond with manila. ( what we call now Sense)
So it led me to buy a Diamond 2
this was another revolution. I was a moderator on the htc-pure forums. but kept my profile here. and was as always morw and more in love with this site as I continued to know that the hacks came from here.
Now on the Dhd I had a bittersweet relation. many forum memebers dont like to keep tradition. But this continues to grow fast. Proof of this is the compact view.
We shall continue making history!

I'm a relative newcomer compared to some....I really put what I learned here to good use when I got my Nexus One in late June 2010....and I've had tons of phones since and I learnt more with each one.

That's the purpose I want to share how we've come from all over the world.And reshaped business. We've made companies think a bit more about their costumers, although we still need to keep this going proving them wrong in every corner. Like for example Desire Hd and ics!

Yeah man HTC were totally wrong about ICS and Sense. Forget ICS and Sense 3.6 (sorry Team Blackout and Pacha Nero) we have ICS and Sense 4.1 thanks to torxx!

I wasn't expecting a happy ending - that would have been insulting.
But, it should have been done better. It's like we've spent the last 7 years getting to know someone inside out, and then they change in the last 5 minutes of the show into something completely different. Is anyone else reminded of Anakin's 5 minute journey to The Dark Side? It was just badly portrayed.
Apparently though, the last series was meant to span over at least 2, which is where the rumours about it having another series to go came from. They did cram in too much story and that spoilt it.
The last series was rubbish for me. It pretty much killed my appreciation for what had come before.

Maybe they crammed too much story that's why people were expecting a somewhat different ending. I feel that the reason why he succumbed into seclusion was because of his very nature. We know Dexter as the person who is known for taking decisions no one could.
But I agree to the point that they did cram too much story in last season. Though it's disappointing to see him like that but he could not have done anything else accounting to his very character.
