If you run into a dialer force close issue, check out this fix. Simply flash the file in Clockwork just as you did with the ROM. No wipe necessary.

let kabaldan finish it's cm6 first ... if he commits his sources to a public repository, other developers may jump in and change our milestones

i´ve seen this is ported to droid so porting the home app to milestone it shouldn´t be that hard i would love to give this a try !

what you see in front of you , is not always "just a launcher", so beware, it can be a lot harder to make it work on milestone, as droid has no strange baseband problems(12+ different variantions + drivers changes), no bt,gps, gki system as backend to handle communication.
and finally, it might have less memory and can look nice, but reloads alot. which is not a problem on droid with swap and compcache options enabled.

someone please tell me what dialer this is using..
that looks like the perfect smartdialer for me

Doesn't look anything special anyway? :/

i know some people are gonna kill me but i like the iphone look a like icons where can i get those for launcher pro ?

yes please stay on topic, we need to know if someone wants
to try to port this to our Motorola Milestone, the UI looks very nice
and fast to me + this ROM looks like no other so we got more different
options to choose from to install
Hopefully kabaldan can take a look at this thread and the Droid ROM
provided

Wow that is a sweet ROM ... its kinda like what I imagined Android should be (iOS + widgets + Google stuff).
Its awesome because it basically borrows the strengths of both Andriod and iOS and makes it into a hybrid: very intuitive user experience that supports advanced features.
I really dig the whole layout: just one place where you scroll pages (not double like Galaxy S's TouchJizz).
I think its awesome how you:
+ have only one main area where you scroll (unlike Galaxy S)
+ you have a cool looking arrow (that indicates which screen you're at)
+ the arrow is positioned in a great location
+ the arrow allows you to quickly scroll between them (your fingers dont need exercise!)
+ can have unlimited "Home" screens
+ easily rearrange them (so you can move groups of Apps easily)
+ can manually choose the main home screen is also awesome
+ can easily delete Apps from the home screen (that rubbish bin at the top is so cool)
+ enter "edit" mode on the homescreen (displays the boxes)
+ add Widgets in this weird but wonderful way
+ easily rearrange Apps and folders
- too bad you can't place folders inside folders (which isn't a big deal and actually helps keep things simple, but I still prefer having the option)
- too bad you can't make shortcuts of Apps (making it impossible to launch Apps from several places/homescreens)
- too bad it doesn't support haptic response (...that would be so cool!)
- too bad it doesn't work in landscape mode (I have an idea how this can be implemented in a great way, I will make a mock-up if requested*)
I also dig the intuitiveness of:
+ the controls/shortcuts for wateva screen is always located on the bottom (familiarity/cleaness)
+ Apps automatically get a coloured backing like on TouchWiz, to make each App look more familiar (retains order) but with its curved sides it still retain some funk (reminds some of the iPhone, in a good way)
+ I like how the page bounces when it hits the end, while kinetic-scrolling
+ the transitioning (page quickly zooms in when opening/zooms and fades out when closing)
+ I like how the Widgets/startbar/notifications tab are transparent (requires a theme that can change these collectively)
+ like the space to put 0-6 Apps to launch from the App-dock and re-arrange them easily
+ like the large icons on the bottom of the Contacts page
+ like the large icons on the bottom of the Dialer
- the Music App has the same thing but its located on the top row (they forgot?)
- the App-dock doesn't let you put any folders into it, shame (but probably an easy fix)
- the dialer could've been improved by taking some cues from the the Galaxy S... if requested I will make you a mock-up**
- the settings page is just stock Android, they could've decorated it slightly like on the HTC Sense ROMs (probably an easy fix)
I loved how you can scroll the "functions" buttons in the notifications tray but overall I didn't like it as much as the Galaxy S's, its great but I see some areas of improvement:
- i think they should've have 4-larger "functions" displayed instead of 5 smaller ones
- i think somewhere in the Settings they should've made an option to Add/Remove some of those functions and arrange the order according to the user (like having a second App-dock but instead for system tools, a Tool-dock!)
- i think it needs the controls for music/movies (the media player) in the notifications tray like the Galaxy S (that's actually awesome)
Other things that would make a killer experience on an Android phone is if they also had
1) the "hibernate" function that intiates when you switch off your device (new HTC Sense),
2) a customizable theme that's consistent throughout Widgets/Folders/Pages,
3) and 3 main buttons (no need for trackball) to make the experience intuitive;
Left button***
= press is back (works the same way already in Android)
= hold (1.5sec) is Force-Close the app (which is so handy in Android that its not funny)
Middle button***
= press directs you directly to the "main" homescreen
= hold (1.5sec) opens you another page that "previews all currently running applications" (which is great for speedy multitasking)****
= See this just as an example for what happens when you hold the Home button http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/4355688804_68ccaca964.jpg
Right button***
= press initiates the Menu function
= hold (1.5sec) initiates the Search function (just like on the Galaxy S)
And arranging the buttons in this order allows easier use for users because it is intuitive (majority read left-right, buttons function in that same order ... WP7 actually got this right)
I think that is the best way to go about Android ROM's (with my slight improvements) as a Froyo build. So yeah, this is about 90% finished of what I envisioned/want from Android (for the DEXT/Milestone2/GalaxyS). If you want to visually see what I mean at the (*)'s, I can do so if you are wanting

Hmmm nobody interested in this porting it to Milestone??

Sorry for that, I guess that I decided to postpone my reply and then forgot. Sometimes I'm not in the social mood, my friends are used to it .
I hardly find the time to focus on the bugfixing and improving of the CM6 port. I will not start any other project anytime soon, otherwise I could loose my wife, daughter and job .

believe me that if you just take 15-30 each day you will make it...and i'll be happy to know that someone's working on that
By the way YOUR ROM ROCK!!!

But very very very nice concept, when will you be releasing kitchen/ROM?
The resolution choice works on the ui. But struggles with some of the installed apps.
Forgive me if i'm wrong but the top power button no longer turns the phone off?
Nice! A lot of space on the screen. A very nice concept release, real snappy!

not having an x1, have you gone real-vga?
1\it's cool, finally for someone manage to control windows' layout
2\it will be good to make fonts in title bar, bottom bar 130% larger, and 150% lager in system. it will also be good to make layout 120% larger both in title and bottom bars. and icons in start menu seems to be quite big, is it has something to do with the contrast to the surroundings? some sort of layouts seems to be forced controlled its resolution, and it became quite smaller than usual, eg: welcome settings.
3\rom is really fast, and quite amazing smooth in both today and start menu scrolling.
4\making phone call is available, but i think this rom is just a demostration of the new layout. it should be tweaked in further developing since it's too small for x1's small screen. any way, it's cool.

bet ur missing ur x1 now!!!!
sorry for spaming but i couldn help it
it is nice, if this stuff goes into a kitchen i think some very nice roms would come from it. this is what i see:
wm6.5 (only, no SE or other companies stuff)
hi res (looks nice but makes text too small)
very fast (but this may be because there is no other stuff added)
some bugs (bits missing, link turning the phone off, link to hardware keys etc)
but overall a nice concept and i think u should but a kitchen up with the bones of this concept and the the chefs do what they do best, cook something special up
in all honesty if it is realvga it could be done quickly and easily with a cab..
96 or 128 jerpelea?
spot the athena owner
I did try it when I got my x1 (as have a couple of others if I remember well), 96 was too small for me. 128 was workable but not all the resources were there.. I'm guessing that they are all there in the new SDK. After all that's where the original idea came from many many moons ago... lol

[ROM][22/07]- Wild Ginger – Gingerbread 2.3.4 AOSP – [DISCONTINUED]

This ROM is DISCONTINUED
I am sorry to say I don't find the time to further develop this ROM, if anyone wants to continue this ROM please do so. Just pm me and it's fine. Thanks for using this ROM and for your feedback. Maybe in the future I will begin a new ROM project. For now I am only developping a ROM Download Manager for the desktop, keep an eye on the portal .
Go check it out for screenshots and download :

i`ll give a chance this evening ... looks nice
I have been using this ROM for the last hour or so. I did a backup, clean wipe and fresh flash. I have let the new ROM settle and have done a manual reeboot also.
I am a humble end-user and not a dev but thought that I would give a breakdown of some of my first impressions and observations.
I like the boot annimation alot, I also like the lock screen. Both look clean.
I like the orange font used in the status bar and the pull down menu although the "Wild Ginger" wording in the drop down menu is very blury and looks ugly.
The window transistions are smooth as you like but don't feel snappy quick.
I think the new honeycomb launcher is a nice touch but doesn't seem as intuative as the regular launchers such as ADW; maybe it's because I'm not used to honeycomb yet.
My main gripe about the Honeycomb launcher is that it force closes ALL the time. I have been trying to remove the Google search bar widget that is pre-loaded on screen after first boot and it is impossible (and the widgets aren't even locked to desktop). Also I can't ADD any additional widgets - you can select a widget to add but nothing happens!
From the main screen, waiting for the menu to appear takes about 5seconds which is an age. The "Personalise Honeycomb" menu doesn't fit the whole screen and you can see thick band of the desktop down the right of the screen which is ugly.Once in the preferences menu it isn't at all clear what you are meant to do... You can see the "Apply Settings" button but it took me tapping about the rest of the screen to finally make the actual preferance choices appear.
I have tested inbound and outbound calls and wifi both work as standard. The music player has nice interface, camera works and stock browser is fine. I don't like the dark blue highlight that appears when you press on an app icon it looks clumsy.
The numbers 1,2 and 3 are almost cut in half in the dialer and the green phone "call" icon doesn't seem to fit in it's area neatly.
I like H4oxer's work on this ROM and I hope it continues to get better but with these quite apparent bugs I will respectfully wait for an update before I continue to use this ROM.
Good Work tho!
so ...
good review above .... absolutelly uselless to say more ... 100% same opinions as you EDD ! keep going h4oxer !!!
Thanks guys I really appreciate your feedback ! Will work on it!

You'll have to wait 5-10 minutes... leave it for 10 minutes on first boot..
why I cant see any progres in progres bar in recovery, says instaling update ...
(now no progres of writing files) and afther just 10-15 sec instal complete,is this normal? usualy can see progres and takes a bit longer
Yes it's normal, I didn't payed attention at the progressbar while writing the updater file , but it works don't worry. It installs fast because it had not much apps on board. Just the essential.

OK....first impressions are good. Startup in less than 4 minutes. Looking good. Everything is working out of the box, no force closing or similar problems. Nice themes, Market app is interesting
LCD density set to 115 and dialpad and everything else looks good
need to be done
- icons in status bar - phone signal at least
- trackpad wakeup
- sound on lock/unlock
- 6x5 icons is too much... 4x5 would be better in my opinion
- Home screen - same as above
- when LCD density changed no way to add widgets or apps to home screen
all in all very good rom, but need a little bit of fixing

[ROM] [PROJECT] [PORT] [AOSP] LiquidMetal_2 (10/29)

[AOSP]LiquidMetal for the Incredible
First I need to thank Jermaine151 for allowing me (to attempt) to continue his work on the LiquidMetal For the Incredible port. Which goes to say I have to thank BigRushDog for his ROCK SOLID Metal build that the RC1 for the Incredible was based off of. I would like to also thank Sac23 and bmxerkid954 for allowing me to use their work and port their build to the Incredible, and were used for Jermaine151's previous versions of this rom. BIG thanks to Koush and the Cyanogen tam for their CM6 files and all they do. Thanks to Koush for his kernel and too many contributions to name. A thanks to gmichaelow for answering questions asked by Jermaine151. A special thanks to Incredibledoes for the original Liquid port. Thanks to jrummy for his ROM Toolbox (look into the donate version.) A thanks to 3MX10 for helping me out with all my stupid questions and helping me pick up where Jermaine151 left off. A special thanks to ALL the testers that have been involved with this project (before or now) for their time and trust that their phones wouldnt get bricked.
If i forgot anyone, it wasn't intentional. PM me and i will update this (this was based off Jermaine151's thread on XDA).
BigRushDog's thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870944
Sac23 and bmxerkid954's thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903470
Jermaine151's thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920804
This ROM is based on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and is built from the Android Open Source Project Code (AOSP) With the Acer Liquid Metal UI on top. (continuing where Jermaine151 left off)
*This rom was not intended for the INC, it is a port and has bugs; it is built off the Metal base. Close to it original source code, just modified for the your phone*
-Proximity Sensor doesn't turn the screen off immediately, but prevents buttons from being pressed when the phones against your face and eventually does turn the screen off. (Works perfectly on LiquidLight)
-Location and Security FC's (Crazy workaround: Rename Phone.apk to Phone.apk.bak, reboot, go intomenu and make changes, rename back and reboot - thanks iceman99393)
-No LEDs for notifications (I'll see what I can do. Any help is appreciated)
-LED flashes orange when charging and turns solid orange when fully charged
-No TV Out
-Changing the Dolby Mobile settings could throw you for a loop.
-CarHome doesn't play nice and will not be included.
-Light sensor (Rom includes Brightness widget)
PLEASE READ - Tips & Tricks:
-To Drag Icons to Other Screens Faster
Drag the icon to the numbers at the bottom of the app drawer
-To Dial *228 for Activation or PRL update (*228 FC's on some AOSP roms)
Dial *228+ (long press the numeral zero key to add the plus sign)
-To Hide the Whole Dock or Half of it
Drag ALL of your icons for the launcher into the app drawer and the notification bar will rest at the bottom of the screen.
Leave just 4 icons in the top row of the launcher and the dock will become half size.
-To Do Normal Reboot/Recovery Reboot
Use Quick Boot app.
-To Make the Weather More Accurate
Open your widgets app (either with the icon or by long pressing the home button, while the screen is unlocked).
Long press the weather widget and drag it to the trash can in the bottom left.
Hit the "+" button and add weather again. It will let you search for your specific city.
-If You don't Like all of the Vibration Feedback, You Can Turn it Off
For Buttons: Settings-->Sound-->Haptic feedback
For Stock Keyboard: Settings-->Language and Keyboard-->XT9 Text Input-->Preferences-->Vibrate on Keypress
-If You Don't Like the Transitions, You Can Turn Them Off
Settings-->Display-->Animation-->Some or None
-If You Don't Like the Launcher, Install Your Favorite Launcher (FIRST!!!!) and THEN Change it
Settings-->Applications-->User Interface. After rebooting it will ask your to choose you launcher (DO NOT CHOOSE LAUNCHER2) (Thanks cooljames2186 for finding this)
If you don't install another launcher before doing this, you may end up in a bootloop
-If You Select Custom Wallpapers and No Longer Want Them Displayed in the Wallpaper (Home Decor) app
Use Root Explorer (or your favorite file manager) and navigate to here: /data/data/com.acer.android.breeze.launcher/wallpapers/user/
Delete any of the numbered folders (i.e. 1, 2, etc)and they will immediately disappear from the wallpaper app.

1. Download the Rom to your SD card.
2. Nandroid
3. Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache (i recomment formating /boot and /system in advanced menu)
3. Flash the rom zip via recovery.
4. Boot it fully (You shouldn't get a FC if you hit back arrow at region selection, but the FC doesn't hurt anything).
5. Go through set up or skip though it.
6. Set up your Gmail account, let it sync, get your updates from the market.
It may be sluggish after your first boot (Rom's take time to settle in). 7.Please give it 15 mins or more (depending on how much media you have on internal memory and your sdcard) because the media scanner is going through all of your media, adding it into it's database and creating thumbnails.
8. Enjoy!

No I haven't tried his incredikernel yet, but as long as its an aosp froyo compatible kernel it should work. I'll download now and try.

Installed and running just as smooth, i'm not a benchmark guy anymore. If you want to compare with quadrant go right ahead.
Ok cool. I've been on my phone a decent amount today and am waiting on a couple calls, so if I can't get to it today I'll get it tonight. Looks really cool. I am running NilsP's 3.5. Gingersense at the moment which is really good. I would prefer an AOSP ROM but the stock look is too boring to me and MIUI is too iPhone like, although it has some really cool looking themes. This may be just what I'm looking for lol
Thanks for trying. All credit goes to those listed in OP. right now its just updated (apps) and slimmed down. But there are things in motion. Hopefully this takes off again.

Yep, no problem. And by stock look, I meant like what you would get on a Nexus or a standard AOSP ROM, not this. Hope I didn't cause any confusion.
Man this is awesome so far, I have tried a lot of different roms and this is by far the one I like the most. Thank you
@Bull, I figured that was what you meant.
@Dark, I was away from the Inc for a while. But this was my favorite ROM. I'm hoping to get it bug free. And i'm going to try my hardest to get a GB version, if we can get a system dump. I've got a couple emails out.

Just flashed it and I've let it settle in a bit. This is great so far. I'll play around with it later on tonight and report back any bugs or suggestions, but so far so good. android.process FC'd when it first booted up but, like you said, it didn't affect anything.

if you press back button when language selection screen pops up, English is default and you wont get the FC. but it doesn't affect anything.
So far the only issue I've seen is GPS doesn't work in navigation, unless it takes a while to lock on and I just want patient enough. Other than that it's rock solid.

I noticed that to, I think its a little sluggish for lock on. I use foursquare and wasn't pinpoint like usual

I'll look into it. If it works good, i'll contact the Dev and try to include it in the next release if GPS isn't 100%
that was with light to moderate use, about 50 text (sent and received) and periodic facebook/ twitter checks/updates.

Ranting along

Since everybody seems to upbeat about the Nexus 4, here some things that REALLY piss me off.
For reference, I am coming from a DEFY / CM9 and have at the same time here a new HTC One S / CM10. And then there would be a Nexus 7, and a Kindle Fire / CM10/SGT7.
Why on earth couldn't they have the normal buttons on the bottom, and instead needed to waste precious screen real estate ? I do understand that a 7 inch tablet needs that as it's turned between landscape and portrait. But for a phone ... After all there is space on the device, which is unused now ...
This little microSIM tray is nifty. Especially if you are at an airport, just bought the prepaid microSIM and try to put it in. You have the tool with you, right ?
The new and improved camera app stinks like heck. The device support ISO settings, different focus modi, red-eye removal ... the works. But the default application fails to expose ANY of that. I cannot even set the JPEG quality level ... EPIC fail.
Tried to use 720p video recording ? 22fps stuttering ...
Lockscreen widgets ... why on earth would I want to have that ? And why couldn't there just be a simply settings entry to disable that ? (yes, I know that there is now an app out there that gets rid of it ...)
The good old clock. Nice work. Tons of features. Way too many. Why split this over-engineered mess into "Alarm" and "Watch" and whatever ?
Battery drain ... Looks like a lot of the new features (some which I cannot uninstall per default) are sucking up processor time, like the "Mediaserver" (got the same apps/settings as on CM9/CM10, where this does not happen).
This new pulldown quick settings is nifty. Takes me now 2 clicks and one slide to toggle wireless ... much improved over the one-click toggle in CM9/CM10 (and HTC Sense, and TouchWhiz, and ...).
Overall I feel that 4.2 is a step back from 4.1, because every new feature that should make up 4.2 seems to be more in the way than anything else. The toy needs sooo urgently CM10 it's not even funny.
I totally agree with all your points, it's definitely a turd. Wanna sell it?
To your first point, I have a feeling that Google will eventually rethink the use of on-screen buttons and come up with a solution that occupies less real estate. The back button is redundant and can easily be replaced in-app like the menu button was (e.g. click the icon in the upper-left corner to go back is already implemented in many apps) and its behavior is confusing and inconsistent; it's a carry-over from the past and poor UX design overall. The task switcher could quick easily become a hold and drag gesture from the home button or status bar with adding any additional steps to get to it.
Thinking something crazy like the tablet interface where the status bar moves to the bottom, gets a little wider, and houses the home button would be a good solution.
Why does... does... do you guys smell apples? I swear I think I do.

What the... huh? Have you ever used android for longer than a few minutes?
The missing back button is the first thing I always cringe over whenever I have to handle an apple device at work, it's the best thing of the whole OS (well,at least it's pretty awesome)
And software buttons are the best solution in general, because they can hide and make place for more stuff on demand.
The "empty" space on the bottom of the nexus4 isn't because they thought they'd leave space there just for fun, there's space because it's needed for the hardware below.
If there were hardware buttons taking up the space the phone would be even bigger (or the screen smaller)
Instead of whinning about it why not try to do something about it.

Yeah stop moaning and send it back.
Why keep a phone that "pisses" you off so much...
U mad bro?
Early adopter and complaining (very mad) that there are some updates needed............silly
Maybe u should sell it on eBay and make some money?
Or better......sell it to one of the great devs that are waiting for a device!!!!!!

Yes. I have. Thanks for your assumptions though. Despite your "cringing", Apple's implementation of a dynamic "back button" at the top-left of nearly every iOS app is much more consistent and predictable.
On Android, sometimes the back button takes you back to the screen you were on previously on the same level, sometimes it takes you up a level, and sometimes it closes the app which is always surprising and annoying if you were not aware you were already at the root level. The home button closes an app, the back button doesn't need to. Google is even well aware of this unpredictably and has gone as far to draw up guidelines as to how it should be implemented, but many developers choose to ignore it.
Unpredictable behavior is bad UX design, plain and simple. Having a place in-app that takes you back and a hardware/software button that does the same is also redundant and unnecessary. Navigating an app should be natural and intuitive and all within the app, in my opinion. Hardware/software keys should be reserved for OS-level tasks like Home, Task Switching, etc.
I agree the software buttons are the best choice, but it would be nice to see them implemented in a much more dynamic and space-saving way.
The sim eject tool, aka paper clip.

Yes, I was thinking that the merged tablet interface would be a cool idea for the "Nexus 4". With CM10/SGT7 on the KF you also get a nicer notification panel, which might be reasonable for a device of this size.

Actually I might do (or simply return it), but for different reasons than just the SW I was ranting about (and being disappointed for now). Of course many issues I cited will be fixed with a CM10.1 custom ROM in about 3 months ...
I disagree with the on screen buttons. I had the gs3 and it was terrible for accidentally catching the buttons. The bezel is there for a reason, Samsung put real buttons on the bezel and it's terrible. This is best of both worlds, if an watching a video I get the full screen as the buttons disappear, yet for everything else the screen is a great size.

I feel sorry for everyone and everything in your life.
I disagree. 4.2 is a major improvement, much faster and smoother. All these new things will be improved upon in future updates.
It sounds to me like some people would never be happy no matter what they do.
As for the on screen buttons, i love them after coming from a device that had a push button for home. It would be great though to make them autohide as they do for video.

Lol I love that all you fan boys bash the Op and make fun of him, but I hate to break it to you, everything in his post is true. The proper response is: "yes Google screwed some things up pretty badly here, but overall the good outweighs the bad."
Some of you people are worse than iSheep. No need to defend everything a company does. If you don't acknowledge the bad you basically give Google a license to never fix the problem it created because Google thinks you like those problems!

This guy doesn't own one, he's just seen videos, it is pretty obvious.
People just love complaining, I think this is he's first android phone, probably bought it because it was so cheap, try to buy an iPhone for that price you'll probably just about pick up a second hand 4s, I've never seen a phone so cheap with so many features, first phone with 2gb ram, even the iPhone 5 has only 1gb ram.
send your phone back and go and buy an iPhone 4s from ebay!!!

Asking for a little guidance in the ROM / Kernel / MOD-Dschungle

Hey everybody,
I spent the last two weeks since I got hold of my HTC One with flashing every Rom available, but still I couldn't find an entirely satisfying package.
Since I see all the mods and kind of got to know that a lot of options are available via Aroma Installer I am beginning to question my approach.
Maybe I got it all wrong looking for the one ROM that fits my needs...
But that was what I was used to on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
I basically sticked to one ROM for months and applied occasional updates.
Basically what I would want:
Good Audio Quality
It doesn't have to be Beats, but at least equally loud and not cracking like most of the AOSP roms I tried.
This is crucial as it was one of the main criteria for me to buy the HTC One. I want to make use of those gorgeous speakers.
Stock look preferred
I feel that Sense is way to bloated and I kind of like the stock Android Halo Look.
As I am using Nova Launcher anyways I wouldn't be missing the Sense Launcher. I find the Sense Settings Menu confusing, to be honest.
Battery Percentage on the right, no extra icon on the left
Notification Toggles / Horizontal Toggles
Well there are apps (like this one), but they require to display a notification icon permanently.
Power Saver Mode
This one is apparently working quite well...and I wouldn't mind having it in the CustomROM.
But if I can get a sufficient amount of daily use outof it I would be happy enough
Changing Screen-Density to 400 to 420dpi
Doesn't really matter if done via manually editing the build.prop or in a different way. It's just important to me that it can be done withouth making the Framework instable.
Hide IME-Switcher Notification, as I am using SwiftKey permanently
Longpress Back-to-Kill
I really make use of this quite often as I have a lot of apps that I use only once a day, such as banking or runtastic. After using them I am used to killing them, which saves me the detour of going to the recently used apps.
Kill-All in recently used apps
If I have to kill 10 or so apps I endorse having the kill-all button.
Home / HTC-Logo / Sweep 2 Wake
My hands are average size so it is quite a pain to reach all the way up to the power button. (Misplacement if you ask me.)
Something I thought I might get used to, but I just couldn't.
(...seriously, this is what works on the iphone. Waking the phone pushing the home button, while it is placed on it's flat unwobbly back. Hence the HTC One lays better in the hand due to the curved back.)
Some way to wake the phone up without using two hands would be great.
HTC-Logo to Menu or Option to have an onscreen-menubar
I kind of miss the menu button...if the 3-dot menu is just disabled in some roms.
I actually was considering getting the onscreen menubar back and linking the home and back button to apps such as Whatsapp and Google Now solely.
Enough of the wishlist
Has anyone any recommendations how to get this jack of all trades stock rom?
I tried the following:
Android Revolution HD, TrickDroid, ViperOne, InsertCoin, bigxie Google Edition, the nandroid of the GE stock image.
PAC-man, CyanogenMod, ParanoidAndroid
At the moment I am running InsertCoin, which is not that bad. But still feels a bit bloated, due to the sense "look and feel".
If I would have to evaluate what bugged me the most and really surprised me on each "type" of rom the baseline would look like this:
Sense based roms:
+ Battery Life
+ Stability
+ Sound Quality
- "messy" Sense look and feel (Settings etc.)
Google Edition roms:
+ Stock look and feel
+ Sound Quality
- Battery Life
- Customizability (Battery-Percentage, Toggles etc.)
Non-HTC Base roms:
+ Stock look and feel
+ Customizability
- Battery Life
- Stability
-- Sound Quality very poor
Please don't get me wrong.
I am not someone who is too lazy to get through all the Roms and read myself into it.
But I think that I might be missing out on something or just overlooking an option, like a kitchen for the HTC One or so
Thanks in advance :good:
All the best.

That's what I thought as well
And I tried it yesterday evening.
Though it felt bloated. It's not only the overwhelming sense-like UI, but as well all the features it offers.
Viper debloated and Google Edition based, with a leaner approach to all the used icons would be love on the first sight :good:
Thanks for the immediate reply
(just realized I called ViperOne "Venom" in my prev. Post)
You have to do a choise.
If you like the GE Rom, flash this, but the audio, the zoe function and much more there aren't.
ViperOne is the best rom for the customization
Okay Slim Bean for the HTC One seems to be the best compromise. :victory:
Not bloated at all, stock look and feel, true black theme and all the requested and beloved features are available.
The on thing I was worried about was the One-specific things, such as Hardware Key Controls and wake-options, but they are built right in the rom/kernel combination.
A user reported 22h (100% to 2%) with slightly over 4h of screentime, which sounds sweet.
Gonna try to install a sound mod to increase the soundquality.
Even though it is not as bad as on the other AOSP-based roms that I tried before.
