Overclocking question - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

I'm running SimpleROM (Froyo) On my Droid. 800Mhz (SETCPU) Isn't fast enough for me What can I do to overclock into the 1+Ghz's?

load a custom low voltage kernel going up to 1200 if you want, i recommend p3 kernels. Just search for it dont have a link handy sorry

Okay, Thanks

I second that. I am running a P3 1100 low voltage on BB v5 runs amazingly smooth.

Droid1, what's the most stable rom

What is the most stable rom for the original moto droid? Meaning no random reboots, dropped 3g/calls, etc...i have shadowrom running right now,its my wifes phone mind you, it's a fast rom but according to her there are still bugs that annoy the hell out of her. Just want some other opinions

Haven't had any trouble with Cyanogen 6.0.0.
I'm running CyanogenMod 6, and very smooth. Love it! No problems, very smooth, fast and stable.

Did you set setcpu's sliders both to Max and also performance? Otherwise it doesn't take. The kernel still thinks it is capped at 1ghz even when oc'd so you cannot adjust setcpu once applied.

Weird quadrant score

http://db.tt/TYUa4Yon
So I did a Quadrant run on an older CM10 nightly, and got this result.
I wonder why is the I/O score so bad compared to Nexus S on the same hardware? All other scores were better (overclocked, ram merging etc)

Cause original rom development is a bit better than or developers, I mean all developers like developers of Samsung know their own phones better than normal people

You wont have a dead processor unless you overvolt it which I dont think you would do anyways. By the time your processor is dead, you'd have long gotten a new phone. The most you could get is stability problems where there is not enough voltage to supply the processor and in that case your phone would just crash.
its like how on a computer if you overclock and you dont supply enough voltage to your processor, you receive a blue screen.
So is it safe to overclock to 1.4
Ghz?

Yep, I had it at 1.4ghz for a long time with no problems. But now that I'm on beast mode kernel, I can't OC.
Some people have it at 1.8 GHz without problems
Sent from my not so Incredible S
Beastmode runs well at 2ghz actually on my phone
But I have it now to run at 1.2ghz

If you overclock your CPU too much without raising the voltage it may not even boot.

Thanks!!I'll try 1.4Ghz next time cuz I feel nothing change on 1.2ghz
