Where's the MetaMorph Love? - Fascinate Themes and Apps

So where is the metamorph love for us? The vibrant and captivate have some morphs going, why not us? We have busybox and all that good stuff... anyone?

I think since we're deodexed now its just a waiting game.

Really just playing with images now. Used to throw custom stuff together for my nexus all the time. Get in gimp or photoshop and play around.

MM has been really unreliable for me, and trusting it with pushing an excess of 500 images into the framework is not something I want to do. It's not that I don't want to make applying themes as easy as possible for everyone, but what's the difference between applying it through recovery and applying it through metamorph and then rebooting anyway.

I don't care if I flash it through mm or clockwork. I just want some themes!!!

Here you go, just posted my theme.

Themes decrease ROMs?

Hello I will start to run Super D since it's the fastest US Donut ROM, my question is if I put a theme like Elegance, will it in any tiny way slow the rom down???
If anyone one has some tips to improve even more speed, feel free to leave a comment below, im alanrocks15 and i approve this message. =3

Themes are only replacement image files. If the files are somehow not optimized, or use higher number of colors/bigger resolution, possibly, but it will be negligible how much it affects the phone.
Well it depends on what your theming and how you theme it. If your using an app in the market such as openhome or any of those on top of a rom. Then yes your phone will run like poopy but if you download metamorph on market and download the individual files to theme it. Then you will be ok. I themed a bunch of stuff when I used 1.6 supercsdi rom. Worked fine. Metamorph has a page on xda. List all files for that.
Hope this helped

It did thanks you

Also just uno. People do make .zip files that you can flash for themes and such. You don't always need metamorph.

LCARS star trek theme for all

Hi
Posted in Desire section and will dev more for desire if anyone else wants to use it please pm i am doing a full theme but will only be for desire and maybe Hero and G1 and maybe galaxy S and....
started this ages ago but couldn't be bothered to finish it, so started again,
this is just the icons and the fonts in the link below if you use desktop visualizer to add them and make sure you use five rows, ..... this means anyone can use these png well if you have adw or launcher pro .....
will add more and make into a update.zip with added extras, like themed dailer and menus and launcher bar etc but just incase you don't want that.

remeber this is just a .zip with icons and fonts

I would love this theme. I'm running an Eris with KaosFroyo v35-1. This would be freaking sweet!
I will make some adw themes this week so you use it on your Eris
Awesome, but I know a lot of users over in the Eris forums that prefer LauncherPro. Not sure if that's a hassle....

I want... I can has? beam me up you scottish drunk.
I'd love to see this as an official theme. I wear my Weird Al "White and Nerdy" hoodie around all the time....might as well have the phone to match ;-)!
How about a link for us in this forum so we won't have to register at another forum so we can download the files?

Icons and Statusbar

After some digging I have found the files associated with the status bar and every icon on your phone.
/system/framework/framework-res.apk/Res/

I used Uninstaller for Root to backup the framework-res.apk and temporarily bricked my phone because the phone didn't know what to do without it and was able to recover by updating my phone and keep my apps but no root at first. I will attach the framework soon after I remove the bloat again.

services.jar & associated xml files is where the magic has to happen for a "blackbar mod".
I do plan on taking a crack at it for us Zio people. my time to tweak and break stuff is kind of limited, so I'll do what I can, when I can
Any luck?

I've had no luck getting it black. I'm trying though!

Be wary of UOT Kitchen. Causes random FCs all over the place for our ROM.
I am working on a custom openzio theme, but it will take some time, as I am learning as I go. Luckily Im a fast learner. o.0

If you need some help I am more than willing to collaborate. I can hit you up on openzio.
Sounds good. I'll be working on it extensively tomorrow (sunday).
An added note on the UOT Kitchen -- Our statusbars are .9 png files, and UOT converts them to standard png's. Im assuming this is causing the force closes (but I havent looked at the any of the xml files yet). Im going to pick it apart tomorrow.

What theme should i port?

I'm gonna start trying my hand in porting, i just dont know which theme to start with.
I was thinking about White Chrome from the i9000 forums, but i dont even know if its compatible.
it would be for sc2.9.2.
opinions please!
and if any of the themers would like to give me the ok to pm them if i get stuck with something, that would be awesome. i dont want to feel like im bugging all you guys haha
You dont know if its compatible? Of course its not. When you port a theme, you make it compatable.
You can pm me if you need any tips.
Hopefully you can talk with nitsuj17 he is very experienced.
White Chrome is dope, good luck with the port.
My advice would be to download an existing fascinate theme/framework and compare it to the theme you like and want to port...galaxy s themes are pretty close to ours (well gingerbread rom themes are a tad more difficult with systemui.apk) so just look through the drawable-hdpi folders and see what's different

well i know im making it compatible, i had just heard there was something with TW roms vs aosp and stuff, and if i ported an aosp theme for a tw rom, i thought things might go bad.

i would recommend using sbrissens 6 lock mods as a base or stock frameworks from roms...when working with already themed frameworks ur carrying over their xml edits/image/framework changes too
and always remember to credit
yeah haha I read your ettiqute (sp) in your guide. so if I download sbrissens mods, and there will be modded frameworks in there and I can just put the image files that I am porting into that framework?

The best way to pick something to work on is find one that YOU like. Then all the aggravation can be worth it if its something you will want to personally use.

lol, true. But I'm just throwing it out there ya know. I just started using themes for the Fascinate (can't figure out why I never used it on the Eris :/), so I don't much about other themes.

Metamorph themeing for droid 4

Does anyone know if metamorphing themes on the droid 4 will cause bricking or not.
I don't know, but I can tell you that most theme modifications require a deodexed ROM. I'm still working on this.
thanks
Thanks
Metamorph hasn't bricked me but hasnt worked either

it would prob work if your base rom is deodexed
myfishbear, confirmed. i was able to metamorph some various theme elements i had sitting around. it was successful for what i tried, though, i think i made my current theme uglier...
time to find a good metamorph theme! i am looking for a nice light colored, stock or white status bar, everybody and their dog uses black now, kind of bored with it. there was a pretty sweet white theme for cm6 back in the day, but that was when everybody only had the g1. good times..
