Fascinate capacitive touch buttons timeout - Fascinate Themes and Apps

Is there a way to increase the timeout on the capacitive touch buttons on the fascinate? It would be great if the buttons would stay on when the screen is on.

Its in system/lib/hw. There's a file called lights and I believe that's our answer, just haven't had time to play with it.

I'm really hoping we can get this fixed.. leave it up to the dev community to fix what a big company messes up. hahaha!

I think I can speak for almost anyone who owns a Fascinate when I say that we all want this.

so i figured something out....hahaha... atleast on my phone.
set your screen timeout to 1 minute, and make sure your lockscreen is enabled...
now turn the screen off, and then turn it back on. press the home key twice, then unlock the phone....
your capacitive touch key will now stay lit.... until you use them.....
hahahahaha..... works for my phone.

lmao that worked on mine and I'm on puzzle but like he said once you use the key the timeout resets and just go right back off funny bug but not a fix sadly

I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. On the epic you can edit an xml in settings.apk, which extends the keyboard backlight timeout and the capacitive touch buttons. I tried this on the fascinate but no go.

This is a known issue with this device, I believe samsung will be addressing it with the 2.2 update
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

So I've put up an app to address this on the market.
KeepTheLightsOn will keep the LEDs illuminated while the screen is on. Just leaving the LEDs on, rather than using CPU to figure out when to turn them off actually saves battery.

Do you sleep with the light on?

I sleep with the light on every chance I get. I love falling asleep while watching documentaries, especially about space.

Nope, but i can easily sleep in bright light.

I have to have the LEDs on in my PC to illuminate the night. And because they're color changing ones, I HAVE to change the color every night for some reason. I have it to where I can turn them on even with the PC not running. I'm a lighting nerd.

I sleep with the tv cause I like the noise, but the light from it cause I'm scared of the dark.
If I'm listening to music, I'll have some soft light on.
I am going to have to go check the "how old are you" thread for posts from you guys. Lol
I can sleep with or without lights. I do have a bunch of LEDs glowing from all the **** in my room, but that's cuz I'm too lazy to pull the power from them and they help me get to the kitchen to grab something to eat in the middle of the night.
When going off to bed why to switch off lights when i have to on it again next evening
No wastage of energy
much easier with the tv on. anything with sound. sometimes ill leave my gnex on with the radio.
If I'm alone I leave a light or the TV on.

Must have sleeping environment Pitch Black.
If I can't sleep I put headphones in and listen to music. Helps distract the mind and allows me to get sleepy.

Lockscreen is bothering me!!

Hi all,
I was playing with different screen locks on the Play store, and I ended up reverting back to the stock locker. However, it "feels" that some of the elements on the lockscreen are positioned differently now (e.g., clock moved upwards). I'm not sure if they actually changed position, or if they were always at that spot (just that I didn't pay attention).
May I please ask someone with the stock lock screen to please take a screenshot of their lock screen with the PIN code enabled? Thanks so much!

Thank you so much, it was bothering me that the clock is positioned so close to the top, I thought the custom lockers screwed it up.
Thread can be closed now
Im on stock too. And no root or rom, I just.flashed the xxlr 4.0.4 official stock rom. Im waiting for the 4.1.2
In the meantime I was installed an app call Go launcher and go locker, and it make my phone outstanding enough hah

A note about touch screen sensitivity

The sensitivity for the initial touch is lower than than the sensitivity for dragging your finger from that point. Eg, if I just touch and let go right away, the lightest I can get it to register is 46. If I drag my finger from that point and slowly lift, I can get it down to 26. So it seems they've designed it to ignore extraneous touches and be extra sensitive for swipes.

That shouldn't happen anyway since the screen should turn off when your face is near the phone. Do you have a screen protector or something that could be messing with your proximity sensor?

[Q] Add Arrow Keys on Stock Keyboard

Is there a way to add the arrow keys to the stock keyboard for landscape mode? It has them in portrait mode only. I would love to learn what to edit to do it myself. Any help is appreciated!
I like the stock keyboard so please no suggestions on using a different keyboard. Thanks!
Press the config button on the keyboard and enable arrow keys

AYKM? The OP specifically said he wants it in Landscape mode. He already has it enabled in portrait mode.
Or I could be completely ignorant and that option could enable landscape arrow keys as well.
OP, I got nothing. You can ask a dev to hack it if you want?
Doh! My bad. I did not see that OP specified landscape. Arrows are not in the settings for keyboard in landscape. My apologies.

Yes thanks. She is looking to have them in landscape mode. Enabling the portrait mode in the settings did not make the landscape work. I was hoping one of the awesome developers on here knew how modify it to make it work.
I too am looking for this mod. I am on the HTC Evo 4G LTE and would like the edits needed to make this possible. I am sure one of the amazing devs could make this happen.

Nice Night Clock or Always On Watch Face

I started using this for my night table when charging at night. I'm not too sure how it would do with battery life if you use it as a watchface but I'm planning on testing it.
It has great brightness options. You can dim it for night use by swiping gently down or raise the brightness by swiping up. The little details in the lighting are nice. When you dim the brightness you see the shadows of the digits and days of the week. The disappear when you fully brighten it.

I agree, that will probably be a problem.
I had a Galaxy S3 that burned in badly after leaving it lit all night for a few months on a nightstand.

I was wondering about this too. My wife's phone which is a fairly recent moto model had terrible burn-in just from basic use. You can see her homescreen apps pretty clearly.
