Urgent help help help....can not enter the system - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After I replaced the framework-res.apk(modofied) in my phone, my phone restarted auto and still can not enter the system, the screen stuck in the 'X' screen, how could I recover the original framework-res.apk to my phone (I have backup the original one ) ?

pls help,help.......

Umm, boot into recovery and copy it over with ADB...

adb push your backed up framework file as soon as you see the boot animation.
if you don't have it get it from your ROM zip.
may be easier to nandroid restore if you have a recent backup.

adb show "device not found", how could I do?

Like I said, do it in recovery mode.

Are you in a command prompt from within you android ask folder.
E.g c:\ANDROIDSDK\tools
Then open a command prompt from that folder tree.
Then try adb devices

adb logcat , should wait till adb is available. If it never shows a log then recovery/nandroid will be the only way.

[Q] Help! LG PHOENIX....phone only goes into CWR

I recently purchased an LG Phoenix by At&t, the problem I have is that I cannot leave ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
I rooted it, restarted in recovery. and everything worked fine. I then upgraded my firmware, not sure what version though.. I backed up my phone before I upgraded into the new firmware. I then backedup my phone because it rebooted into recovery. Now everytime it boots it goes straight to Clockwork and I cant get out of it. I restored to my previous restore and it still doesn't work. What could I do? Should I install cwr 3? I read that cwr 5 has bugs and is known to brick phones..
Edit: Also the phone without the sd card still boots into clockworkmod menu
I have a ROM(Phoenix ULTIMATE) I'd like to flash but I'm not sure if I should right now considering I'm stuck at this menu.
Info- in my restores It says;
2011-10-04.21.37.48/
2011-10-04.21.56.13/
I'v tried both.
Another edit with potentially important info getting an error stating;
E: bad boot message "recovery"
Sorry If this is a n00b post.. I'm in sort of a rush because I'm moving in a few hours!
Edit; tried flashing the phoenix, didnt work.
installation was aborted
said i needed to switch to Edify scripting, and amend scripting is no longer supported.
What could I flash too to fix this, please help. I don't care if I lose data. Just need my phone back soon.
I have android SDK.
I was reading up on http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/adb.html and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517874 here
Would I be-able to push somesort of boot file or firmware to my phone? Or something in that manner?
THIS:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash userdata data.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
Seems to be perfect for what I should try, where could I get the stock imgs for my phone? (p505)
I moved this here temporarily for you to be assisted...after that it will be moved beck to the right forum
Good luck!!

All you need now is platform-tools . The rest can be cancelled .
Use cmd (best if used with administrative rights) to navigate to the Android SDK folder , then to platform-tools .
Once you get there , connect your phone through USB then don't touch it .

Are you able to try and boot into bootloader? Try that. Also, try and flash a new ROM in recovery, test to see if it may be the ROM. Don't be afraid to backup again, you can always access the backups based on date.

What's bootloader?
I tried to flash my backups before the firmware update and it didn't work, I also can't find any wp505 roms.. I found a few but they wont help in my situation. Do you know any? My rom is stock as I only rooted and got stuck in cwr.
Thanks!
EDIT: I did do that adb shell, reboot bootloader, didnt work.

First off, not to lecture you...but you definitely should look into these kind of things before flashing a ROM.
I haven't looked at the ROMs so I'm not sure. But whatever fancies you, it's just to troubleshoot the problem. The problem itself may actually be the recovery. Do you know how to do logcats in ADB? Try and do a logcat and boot up your device while connected to ADB.
So go "adb logcat". This should show you exactly what your device is doing. When it runs and goes straight to recovery paste all that information into a .txt document and upload it onto xda so others can take a look.
I'll try and help more tomorrow but I have to get some rest. Good luck on getting this fixed.

I could be wrong, but you should be able to use adb to push a new recovery on to your phone.
Try plugging your phone thru USB cord to your computer to see if you can run any adb commands. If you can I think you should be able to push a new recovery to your phone.

but my phone cant connect with PC, atlthough i installed google usb driver.
i might be wrong but cant you just flash a original ruu, than root and reinstall recovery
#1)Go and download yourself a recovery.img file that is compatible with your device and put the image on the root of your SD card (that means on the main directory and not in a folder)
#2)Make sure you have a terminal emulator application installed from the market on your phone. If you don't...install one now.
#3)Open up your terminal and type in
Code:
su
to gain root access. If you are root the next line should show the
Code:
# symbol
#4)At the next line type in
Code:
flash_image recovery /sdcard/name-of-recovery.img
you will need to replace the code that says name-of-recovery.img with the exact name of the file on your SD card.
#5)Hit enter, wait a few seconds and viola ! you have a recovery again.
Good luck man.

USB not showing up in cwm recovery

My phone recently lost its ROM, and is now stuck on the 'HTC quietly beautiful screen', i did manage to get it into clock work mode recovery and have a backup of my old rom on a usb, however, when i plug in the USB before starting the phone it doesn't show up, meaning i cannot restore. When you're in recovery, you have to use the command:
Code:
adb devices
for see your phone.
After use adb command like push or sideload for put a rom into the phone

I had this problem the other day and I fixed it by going to data/media in recovery and installing an old Rom that was downloaded. I could then restore afterwards.

Do you have the folder containing the adb and fastboot files on your Desktop? And do you have HTC Sync installed? It will load the proper drivers, even though I heard it may not be necessary anyway.
This method worked for me on my Mac. It is very simple using Terminal.
You don't actually have to download the whole SDK, just download the file attached in the threat, which is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1396782&d=1350078941
Place it on your Desktop, and follow the instructions. After ADB successfully lists your device, move the ROM file to your android folder and use the following command: adb sideload rom.zip of course replacing 'rom.zip' with whatever your rom's name is. You can also use adb push if you want to move your Nandroid backup to your device, but I am not sure where it will be located on the device itself afterwards.
Oh and you should be in TWRP > Advanced > ADB Sideload mode if you want to sideload the ROM. I am not sure how it works on CWM but it should be the same way.

Are you using the original usb cable? Some usb cables only have GND and 5V pins (no data). Also be sure to use usb 2.0 and a usb port directly from your motherboard (not in front of your computer) and don't use any usb hub.
Well I got it recognized by ADB now.

Thanks man. That helped.
If anyone ever finds themselves in this situation, make sure your SDK packages are updated to the latest Android OS version. This is why ADB was recognizing my device as offline.
Also, running the command adb pull /sdcard/ C:<somewhereonyourPC> will pull all the data from your HTC one.

oh nice to see adb pull /sdcard/ C:<somewhereonyourPC> was the right syntax
For the sdk packages you should always make sure it is updated before doing anything to the phone. Same for drivers. An ''adb devices'' and ''fastboot devices'' won't hurt before messing with the phone to make sure everything set correctly.
Now I presume you'll be ok to flash your rom again?1

[Q] BRICKED Lg Flex D950

I have accidently bricked my device, I rooted the phone and installed the Freedom Flex TWRP. I then thought to take the OTA for KitKat which ended up bricking my Flex. Whenever the phone turns on it boots past the LG logo and straight into TWRP. I tried sideloading the DFUSE stock att rom but I get an error saying "cannot read sideload". I have no other options, any help is appreciated.
Solved thanks to jacktackle!
His steps:
from the TWRP terminal command type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter (it should copy some file. if nothing happens then twrp backup is only option.) if there is some activity then type the next command.
where you have to change only the last word
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit enter and reboot
Good news. U can get to recovery you are not bricked. Even better news it is a easy fix. I was in the same boat.
To fix it:
Download the stock JB zip room. It is large, about 1.7 Gig. Make sure it downloads correctly.
Copy the file in your adb directory.
Boot into recovery and connect your phone to the computer.
Adb devices should give you the device info. Afterwords enter:
adb push <name of the zip> /sdcard/
It will take about 10 minutes for it to complete. In the meantime you will see no activity. Wait.
After it completes, do a factory reset and install the zip as normal.
Done.
Reboot, do a factory reset from the settings, accept the ota and root with stump root.

Ok it's very easy.
do you have a backup of twrp? saved somewhere? if not ask any one on the forum with d950 varient who have a backup can help you to upload it.

Ok it's very easy.
do you have a backup of twrp? saved somewhere? if not ask any one on the forum with d950 varient who have a backup can help you to upload it.
after you get a twrp backup, come back to me. it's a piece of cake then.
in the mean time, try this from TWRP recovery
from the TWRP terminal command type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter (it should copy some file. if nothing happens then twrp backup is only option.) if there is some activity then type the next command.
where you have to change only the last word
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit enter and reboot

same boat as op but cwm
Hi I have tripped and stumbled down the exact same path as the op, but with cwm. Will this fix work for me?
I could really use someone's help with this, there is no terminal emulator in cm and my computer reads my D950 in device manager as a D959.. I don't know what to do to fix it..
