[Q] only recovery mode acces - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I am not sure if there is someone who can help me but here is my problem. I have tried to upgrade my Galaxy S to froyo via Odin without the 3 buttons combo available(Now I know this is stupid:| ). I've used adb to enter the download mode and while Odin tried to install the upgrade I got a green freeze screen on my phone and Odin has freeze too. After rebooting the phone it always stuck in the recovery mode and displays the following error:
E:/Can't mount/dev/block/stl11
Right now I can only connect to my phone trough adb console and Odin but only in recovery mode. When I run the "adb reboot download" command the phone only reboot in recovery mode, not in download mode.
Is there something I can do to bring my phone in download mode?
Any help on this issue will be much appreciated
Thanks!

Don't think it is. Probably the best is to flash a stock firmware and then with adb working (you need a fully booted device) in a terminal / cmd type:
Code:
adb reboot recovery

Lg G2 stuck in fastboot mode no recovery mode or download mode. .

I need help fixing my LG-VS980 Verizon phone I flashed the new update on my rooted LG-VS980 phone and my phone rebooted on me now I'm stuck in fastboot mode no recovery mode and no download mode and my computer will not recognize my phone for anything so it will not install my drivers or anything. Help! Cannot get into dowload mode

Hi all, I am currently running Null 23 with TWRP. I am wanting go go back to tizen but I cannot get my phone into download mode anymore. I have read everything on this forum and tried all the guides. I cannot use Odin as I cannot get into download mode, only TWRP recovery. Is there a way to flash stock recovery from within twrp recovery? I appreciate any help. Thanks
Adb into your phone and then type the command 'adb reboot download' should reboot you into boot loader mode
Edit *watch
Or it may be adb reboot bootloader. I'm at work right now so I can't check
thanks so much, that worked!

Bootloop after Flashing Custom Rom

Hi Guys,
today I got an old Samsung Gear V1 (SM-V700) and as I had some problems pairing it with my HTC 10 I tried rooting it and flashing a custom rom.
To be honest: Nothing worked as expected. I tried jodin3 (not working), Impactor (not working), sdb bridge (sure, not working as the "SU" command was not present at the gear). s
As I'm a mac user, the last thing I did was installing heimdall and used the command
Code:
heimdall flash --RECOVERY ~/null_03_TWRP2.7.tar.md5 --no-reboot
to flash TWRP to the Samsung Gear.
Everything worked fine and finished and I tried to boot into recovery mode.
BUT: When I enter recovery mode, it says "Downloading... Do not turn off target !!".
When I try to boot, it stucks at the Samsung Logo.
When I start Download Mode, I can flash other firmware to the device. But not matter what I do and what I flash: It always stucks and Recovery Mode always talls me "Downloading... Do not turn off target".
Any ideas would really be appreciated.
I'm freaking out already, I already tried to flash mostly everyhing flashable

Samsung GT-I9000 soft or hard bricked

Hello friends,
my wife had an elder Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000, bootloader unlocked, rooted, Common Slim-ROM,CWM-Recovery, I have a full backup. I wanted to clear all personal datas. Because I could not accomplish cleaning I tried to flash by CWM-Recovery an other ROM "cm-10.2.0-galaxysmtd.zip". This flash replaced obviously the CWM-Recovery with the Semaphore_2.7.4.tar kernel. From now on the trouble began. The new galaxysmtd-ROM had a few shortcommings and I tried to restore the backup of my old "Slim-ROM" with the new "Semaphore-kernel". This was the start of the trouble. From now on I ran into the following given status-quo. See also the attached pics.
- The phone does not boot into recovery mode but into download mode with the 3-button method or by using a JIG.
- The phone is recognized in Odin with <ID:0/004> Added!! on com4, but when I want to flash a recovery tar-file CWM Recovery v6.0.3.6.tar, or a stock-ROM JW6_JW2_JW1.tar, or the adequate pit-file s1_odin_20100512.pit, each try ends up with the message"succeed 0 / failed 1".
- In ADB it says: "error: device '(null)' not found". So the phone is not seen by ADB at all, allthough it is in "download-mode".
Can anybody help and explain to me, what happened and give me a step by step procedure, how to get out of this trouble and restore the phone, so I can get access to it at all and start over with a new factory flash. Thank you with kind regards

There are 2 three-button-combinations on this phone:
Volume down & Home & Power ---> Download Mode
Volume up & Home & Power ---> Recovery Mode

Are you sure that you have the Samsung drivers installed and that the phone is in download mode?

This is normal, download mode is only used for flashing through Heimdall/Odin.
