[Q] [issues]2.4 GHz wireless keyboard

Hi.
I have purchased a wireless keyboard from Ace(of Sweeden), the Ace C5 for use with the Adam. It works, I can type, use the trackball etc.
I come from Denmark and the Danish language has three special letters: æ ø å - now the keyboard does support these letters (and other scandinavien letters) and it seems to work on a standard pc.
The issue is that Adam via wireless keyboard does not support these letters. I´ve tried another wireless keyboard and the outcome is the same, no æøå.
Since Adam support these letters via virtual keyboard I suspect it´s a driver issue?
Anyone who can help out with this issue? I would be grateful.

Yes, I am sure the character issue is software related.
Tell me, what OS are you using, e.g., plain Eden or EdenX? Rooted or not? I have tried everything (nearly) and if all it takes is an Ace keyboard ... what makes it so different to Logitech or Apple Wireless, which do NOT work?
Looks like an Ace C5 ... 267x130x20.

Regarding OS I have been using the beast rom and vegan rom with this keyboard. I have not used it with Eden nor EdenX. Somehow I think it makes no different to try it with Eden(X)..?
When you mention Logitech and Apple are those bluetooth devices? Ace C5 is not bluetooth.
The size of this keayboard is great, same width as Adam and same color. It's great to write on too, except from the missing letters.

I recently needed a Keyboard for University, to use with my Nexus 7 to take. Notes. I was looking around for a keyboard that offered portability and function and came across this Bluetooth Keyboard from Amazon.
This is a great keyboard, it is bigger than those Keyboard cases/covers for the Nexus 7, for me it would have been to hard to type on them anyway. It also is very thin at only 6.5mm and its biggest part is 9mm thin, so this product is very portable. The reason behind it being so thin is that it uses a Li-ion rechargeable battery, which charges through a Micro-USB port on the back of the keyboard and take about 2 hours to change fully. Battery life is great lasting about 10 hours of usage. Lastly it was very easy to pair with my Nexus 7 simply press the button on the keyboard and enter the code shown on the N7 onto the keyboard and its done.
The keyboard come in US and UK variants and is priced at £22.99 on Amazon (link below). It also comes with a travel bag.

I have this keyboard as well, and it works absolutely wonders. Though it does not have Android specific keys, you can duplicate Android buttons using FN-F5 for Home, Alt-Tab for Task window, Fn-F8 for Search (from home page). You can also control volume with Fn and F2, F3, F4. There are a lot of other shortcuts you can use, just google for Android Keyboard shortcuts
Cannot remember where I got mine from but it was only 17GBP with shipping

I was thinking of buying this keyboard. Did you encounter any problems similar to http://floor4.co.uk/2012/08/07/nexus-7-bluetooth-keyboard-and-uk-layout/ ?
I still don't know the difference between the US and UK layout, but will probably get the UK one.

Nope had it ages now and still running great. One the the most portable keyboards ever. First my First year and could not have been with out it .

Logitech Android Keyboard or Touchpad Keyboard?

I never played with any of these keyboards but I heard that the Touchpad is more robust, not to mention cheaper.
I was wondering if any of you got those keyboards and what is your input of both models.

Touchpad Keyboard

Looks like the Touchpad works great with Nexus 7:
Plus it has several button functions matching the Android commands, neat. On Amazon they sell it for 25$, shipped.

Biggest advantage to the Logitech over the Touchpad is the carrying case I think. The Android specific keys are great, but don't make a huge difference, especially since you can remap the keys anyway (the author of that article you linked was pretty lazy, some quick googling will get you some step by steps ).
I have the Touchpad keyboard, very high quality IMO.

Basically, download the qwerty.kl file and put it in the appropriate directory. Using keytest.apk and a list of all possible key events, you should be able to edit the file and customize your keyboard layout. I haven't really messed with this since I got my Nexus 7 and a Motorola BT keyboard with android stuff on it.
Though I now have renewed interest.
No time right now to get too into it (food, football, and so on). In a few days, I might have some stuff set up nicely.

I did own both keyboard for android tablet.
1) Logitech
well built, good to have a case for keyboard that protects it from all the lint in whatever you use to carry, also case doubles as a nice stand that has two viewing angles. It has all the functional keys that are android specific that was very nice s.a. back, home, menu, vol, play, ff,rwnd, etc. So I was able to get my way around without touching the screen for most tasks.
2) HP
Equally well built, very nice slim profile and design. If you are able to remap keys, then this definitely can be a winner, but if the keys are not remapped, this will frustrate down the road. But if you are only going to type with it, this obviously does the job, and quite well too.
So if you are only gonna use the keyboard to type, then HP will save some money. But if you like the idea of manipulating all the os functions, then go with Logitech unless you are ale to remap HP.

I just managed to find a second-hand HP Touchpad keyboard which I have purchased. Fingers crossed - Sounds like the better deal here than the Logitech. I'm pretty confident I can work out how to map the keys properly. Will post thoughts here once it arrives (Thursday most likely).

Any of you have the Motorola Bluetooth Android keyboard?

From what I understand, it used to be a pricey keyboard when it was introduced. It's $19.99 right now with free shipping, and I've been needing a quality keyboard for a while. This keyboard has native Android hotkeys like home, mail, volume, etc. that many keyboards available lack.
Do any of you have this?.. is it worth $20 bucks? Amazon is selling it for $44 dollars(http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Android-Bluetooth-Keyboard-89451N/dp/B004JK7GE0) so the Newegg price is less than half of that.

I've got one, it's a very good, well made keyboard. It's a bit big to be truly portable but as long as you have a bag there's no problem with that.

Do you find yourself using a mouse or trackpad with it?.. or will the hot keys enable me to skip around the screen enough?

I don't really use it much, I can't carry it about and don't have a lot of need to sit and type so most of the time I just go with the on screen keyboard. Hackers keyboard is my choice of on screen keyboard.

Really good keyboard, well made and slim. But some keys aren't working. Browser, sms, by example.
I use external keyboard helper to remap some keys, but shortcuts keys are listed as the same key.
Media keys are very practical, and music, back key, home, gmail, contact, search, are some working shortcuts.
I use it with no mouse but ordered one on ebay to be faster and precise.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I found the matching Motorola mouse that normally goes with it for $16 dollars. I'm going to attempt to do some writing on my N7 and having a bluetooth keyboard and mouse will allow me to keep the N7 charging for some extended late-night work.
I'm really excited to see how this works out. The Nexus 7 is great for media consumption and gaming, but if I can actually blog with it on the go it will make me very happy! I think that some would prefer a more portable keyboard, but having one full sized will be better for me in the long run.

Not exactly the same, but I have the Android Logitech keyboard and using just the arrow keys and the built in navigation buttons I'm able to use 90% of the tablet (some apps don't have good support). For that cheap it's a pretty good deal.
Having a keyboard for this is great for taking notes and replying to XDA in class.

hard keyboard cover/case?

I got my wife a hard shell keyboard cover/case for her Galaxy Note 8 and it's quite a good keyboard (internal battery powers it, using bluetooth to the tablet) and acts as a stand too.
I am hoping that similar accessories for Z3TC will come along. If you see such a thing, please post a response to this discussion, thanks!

Heres one I found on amazing , im debating ordering it as I havn't found anything else. The only thing holding me back is there are no pics of it with the z3. Return policy with amazon has always been easy for me and they pay for shipping to. If i get one and try it out ill be sure to post pix!

thanks for that; my wife once bought a keyboard with rubbery key caps for her Blackberry Playbook. It was pretty bad, so I am very skeptical of many cheap universal keyboards. That Amazon one looks quite decent!

Just got my Z3 Tablet and would love to have a case with keyboard...
having one with a additional battery that connects to the magnetic charging port would be even better.
But i guess we have to wait a bit for something like that.

Since i ordered my z3 a couple oft Minuten ago i am also looking for such a cover but havent found anything yet. Any news or recommendations??

There seem to be more folio style covers around, but they're really just a pleather case with a universal bluetooth keyboard stuck in, like this one:
