3rd party app - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Do you guys use any 3rd party app to control your nexus one on from your PC. Like contacts? And how to sync contacts from nexus one to windows live mail (win7)?
I tried Android Manager Wifi, but it's not reliable as it only works with wifi (slow and interrupts) and not usb.

[Q] Sync via Wifi not edge/3G - Galaxy S

Hi Guys,
I noticed all the data syncs (google syncs in particular like GoMarks, then a currency program i have ) going on with galaxy s (froyo) - if i turn data comm off - it doesnt sync via wifi.
comparing with iphone - you could have all sync via wifi.
Am I doing something wrong ?
Thx
not sure what is wrong with your phone, if anything.
but my calendar, emails, phone book and other stuff syncs normally when i'm on WiFi
check your settings perhaps?
did you install any app that might give you some choices related to that?
It may be that your wifi has not all ports open.
sync uses gtalk for the push notifications. Check if you can connect to gtalk when on wifi.

Myphonexplorer

I use MyPhoneExplorer to sync my Outlook calendar with my android phone, but it doesn't seem to work with the NC. Has anyone tried yet?
It doesn't detect the usb cable.
Has anyone been successful?
Looks like there aren't many people who use Myphonexplorer with the NC.
Can't you just sync it with your Google calender account without the need of a third party app?

I can, but at one stage the appointments multiplied on my phone calendar and also mysteriously deleted themselves! Took me a while to delete everything and start afresh. Perhaps I didn't set up the syncing properly, but that scared me off using Google Calendar to sync with my office Outlook one.

Contact Birtday

I have a problem with assigning birthdays for my contacts.
This is my first Android phone and before that all my previous phones had this feature to set birthday and even alarms for them.
I understand there could be third party apps but does android really misses this feature?
I have milestone with 2.2
I edit my contacts with birthday and so on my pc in gmail.com
On the Milestone/Droid you need 3rd Party App
For alarms on birthday, do that online with google-calendar on a pc.

Share contact via GMail!?

So I don't know if I'm missing something obvious or if htc severely crippled sharing in their sense OS. Basically I'm trying to send a contact card to a colleague and the only options available in the contact app is via SMS or the built in htc email app (along with Bluetooth, NFC etc). Every 3rd party android app lets you share via any other app on the phone but is htc really limiting us to just their built in apps!? I don't use the htc email app and I want to send via gmail but I simply don't see a way to do so. Is this possible!?
Nobody else who uses gmail shares contacts via email?
I agree that it is unusual as I frequently send contacts from my phone via gmail to my work computer. The workaround I'm using is to add my gmail account to the HTC Mail app, and then turn of sync and notifications for the HTC Mail app. The only time I use it is when I send a contact.
