Anyone know if HD2 cases can be used with HD7 ? - HD7 General

I know the pouch cases can, just wondered about flip cases, leather cases and plastic shells
Now sure about the relative thin-ness
just loads of HD2 cases around ...

I"m using my HD2's case that came with the HD2 since I havent had the time to get one for my HD7. It fits it but the volume button is on the other side so there's not "cut" for it or the other buttons. But its a soft gell case so it does what I need it to do.

Silicone cases?

How are the silicone cases suchs as these http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=xperia+silicone&_sacat=See-All-Categories
from Ebay?
I have never seen one in real life. Is the phone harder to operate with the case? Does it bulk up the phone too much?
I used to own a HTC tytnII (without a silicone case) which is slightly bulkier than the Xperia, and so if I could handle the HTC's slight bulk, then I would assume the Xperia w/ silicone case would be of similar size, no?
I wouldn't get a silicone case, they are very responsive to touch and uncomfortable.
I mean responsive as in they always get in the way, and you know how silicone is, it flexes and it bends.
They also feel uncomfortable for me.
This is about silicone cases for all phones and mp3 players.
I'd rather let me Xperia scratch than to be protected by that obstacle.
i would have agreed to u ..but the battery cover of my X1 got little scratches from coins in the pocket and now i am worried.
maybe leather covers?
those silicone cases do their job for a cheap price, I've used a few of them on a few makes of phones & they've been fine, but idd regards they feel a bit weird at 1st as in their like a condom but once u get used to them their ok I'd say.
Or you can indeed go buy a leather case & they vary from cheap .HK 1's to proporta etc... again I've had a few, even used expensive 1's.
I'm currently using a silicone case now & then with my diamond but mostly I have it in a leather flip style case, also got 2 leather pouch style cases...
My advice to any 1 who buys an expensive pda/ phone is to protect it 1 way or another with either a case or a pouch oh & always fit a screen protector also
Or don't care & get your pda scratched or chipped etc...
I had similiar one when I owned Touch Pro.
the fitment is ok (not the best) but I think the quality is at best average.
I just bought this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Silicone-...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Since I like silicone cases better than regular leather or pouch ones.
Silicone Cases are Great
I've been using silicone cases for years. They do not bulk up the phone, and they give great protection. All the ports are available, and the buttons usable. And, they're inexpensive!
is the optical pad covered using the silicone case?

Yes, they block the pad, at least the ones off of eBay do (I just recieved one)
There are some rubber cases that leave that area uncovered. You can find them on eBay as well. Although I don't now how the keyboard slide function works out with those.
the ones from hong kong off ebay are not very good, I have stopped using mine, so anyone thinking of buying one just avoid them.... I can post some pics if you want....
Clear Plastic Instead of Silicone
You might want to try a clear plastic case. I bought a couple from Ebay and like them better than the silicone ones. The ones I bought were about $3.25 each. Since they're clear, the allow the beauty of the phone show through. Plus, none of the buttons are covered.

Case inside of Case

I know the title sounds weird but it's exactly what I'm looking for. Right now I have THIS Case. But when I take the phone out of the case on my belt it is no longer protected from drops.
What I am looking for is a belt case similar to the one above that will hold a TMOUS HD2 WITH a hard cover or silicon cover.
Anyone seen anything like this???
your link no worky
Fixed, doesn't really matter what case I have now though. I'm basically looking for a hip case that will hold my HD2 WITH a hard case on it.
Solved...
I am ordering a hip holster for a PPC-6600 which is .10" x .12" x .30" larger than the TMOUS HD2. This should allow me to attach my hard cover to the HD2 and fit it in the hip holster.
Check my post here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6461687&postcount=125
i recentaly switched my wife to my TP2 and got the HD2 and i found a leather case for 5 dollars at the local flea market and it lets me use the silicone case and the body glove case "i switch out cases depending on if im going to be in the office or out on site" and both will slide in the leather case so the phones always protected ...if you realy need this set up im sure i can pick up another case and send it to you

Pdair leather case fitting issues

Hi all,
Just received the leather Pdair horizontal pouch for my 9193 HD2.
Now I was under the impression the 8585 and 9193 were of the same size and the T-Mobile HD2 was a little smaller?
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
The phone fits into the case but it is a very tight fit, as a result the buttons are depressed and the screen is on all the time.
PDair have replied to my email that they do not have a case for the 9193.
So HTC have released 3 different sizes of this phone? I cannot understand why.
more than likely they have a "universal" case they thought would fit the hd2 and it doesn't. I don't think there is enough of a size difference between the hd2's to matter with a leather case. Now for the invisishields it could be an issue.
I would try to send it back and get my money back. The cases really should be able to handle the hd2 and a protective case. Mine does:

http://www.amazon.com/GTMax-Black-H..._69?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1281777514&sr=1-69
I bought this case on recommendation from a post in this section.
I asked them if the HD2 comes in 3 different sizes but no response.
From what I have read the T-Mobile USA and the LEO 8585 vary in size. The telstra 9193 I would have thought was the same size as the Leo 8585. Obviously not or it could just be a bad case.

I'm looking for HD2 cases, which is the best !

Hi ,
I'm looking for HD2 cases,
last week I bought this case from amazon :
Here
I was surprised, It's completely bad !
You can't connect the charger cable because it's not well designed for HD2 !
However, I found this website : Here
I think it's designed for HD2 perfectly, but to be honest I don't like the skins or the colors !
If anyone has a good experience with the cases for HD2 , I will appreciate for helping me .

try a tpu skin. tpu is a intermediate between a hard case and a gel case so to speak. it's very firm, but still flexible. i've tried to crumple mine up, stretch it, tear it, etc., and it just reforms instantly. try momax icase (i'm ordering one within the next few days), capdase xpose soft jacket, etc.
there's also the nice, fancy ones lol. the otterbox line and the capdase alumor are the first ones to come to mind. they have a soft inner sleeve (i think the alumor just has a soft lining; not a separate sleeve), and a hard outer shell. they're more expensive, so just keep that in mind.
also, keep in mind that if you are in the us, the tmo usa hd2 is slightly taller (see if you have a "t-mobile" branding underneath your earpiece. most cases are made for the euro hd2, so that's why i've done my research lol. i'm really hoping that momax i'm ordering can stretch out a bit to fit my phone better. anything else you need, just pm!
If you're not looking at leather cases, than I'd definitely recommend otterbox's products - I personally use otterbox defender, but for your needs (looking at the case you've chosen at first) commuter probably should be better. Keep in mind, there are different versions for Int. or US HD2.
just go with the soft gel cases on ebay. they fit like a glove and proximity sensor microphoneand usb port is all accessible.
Case mate is pretty good
The original HTC case is "Quietly brilliant"
Did not find a better one on the market.
I'd recommend you a leather case. They are very noble looking. Try it on eBay!

How can i protect the fragile touch screen?

I broke the touchscreen of my t-mobile hd2 ( my case did not help really) and I'm looking for a case that CAN protect my new glass .
I would suggest an Otterbox

There are many leather cases which it covers the whole phone that you can use.
Just don't drop it.
You can choose from many available. Starting from leather cases, through simple gel cases (like I have), ending on the tank-like Otterbox cases. IMHO you should choose depending on where do you use this, on which surface.
I have a simple gel pad for ca. 6,30$, but i mostly walk on carpets, wood and linoleum, and it works pretty well- although my HD2 landed on the floor many times with sound like something heavy has landed, my screen didn't break.
I got used to be careful, and watch out for the phone not to slip out from my hand.
I don't think looking for leather cases and the lot is the way to go - it might be a part of solving the problem; but the best way is to try and use the hard buttons on the phone less - especially the back and end keys. (maybe use softkeys like button savior if on android)
I understand the HD2 is Heavy. . .
Chuck Norris once tried to pick one up and
he broke his hand =)
You must have dropped it very hard on something like concrete. The HD2 has Gorilla glass so even if you was to buy a cheap $10 case off ebay you shouldn't have ever had a problem. I say shouldn't because even though we have Gorilla glass on our phone it only makes it harder to break, not impossible. Check out this video of the Leo being put through a tough screen test. I'll warn you, if you love your phone like i do its rather hard to watch.
Well back to protecting your phone. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of durable cases for our phone. With that said Otterbox should give you the best protection against dropped phones especially when onto hard surfaces. I've dropped mine a few times now on the ground and mine is only in a gel case. I never had a problem with it breaking but i'm sure there are other factors involved. I'm trying to find out for sure if our HTC HD2 can fit into a HTC Inspire 4G case. The measurments are very close, we are talking about less then a millimeter difference in some spots while others are exact. If it would i would suggest a case from Seidio.
I am ordering the seidio rugged inspire case from amazon it has 3 layers of protection. I'll let u know if it works.

I opened a thread about this earlier but had not got around to ordering it yet. I did try on a seidio plain hard case that fit. The volume buttons was a tricky fit though. You could press volume down just fine but you needed to press almost in the middle of the volume button to turn the volume up. It did fit nice and secure inside the case though. Very interested to find out the results.
got the seidio convert case today..more protection and cheaper than the defender. I looked most of the inspire 4g cases from seidio should fit as well as this one does.I think i will keep my tmobile hd2 a little longer now.
---------- Post added at 10:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 PM ----------
the volume rocker is not centered in the opening but works fine.
i suggest invisible shield, the feeling is really nice and its protection is also very good
I use the original HD leather case and it works well.
BTW: Most time I have my HD2 just in pockets of my jeans - for about two years no.
