will we see extended battery's? - HD7 Accessories

I don't really know much about how easy replacing phones with bigger battery's, but is it likely that htc will sell a bigger power battery for the hd7 ie 1500 or something?

I've seen regualr replacement batterys for the HD7 advertised but not extended ones...not yet anyway.
As always, it's just a matter of time before Mugen/HTC/Seidio etc announce an extended battery.

I hope they can squeeze a true not BS 1500mAH battery in there without a new back cover. It would ruin the design.

There are 1500mAH batteries listed on Ebay already but how can you tell if its the same old 1230mAH battery with a different sticker on it? Is it even possible to squeeze 270 more mA into a battery of the same size?

lol of course its possible.. have you seen the size of the EVO's battery??? that was 1500 and the dimensions were quiute similar to that of the HD2... so I don't see why it would make a difference

I bought an HD7 and love it. Battery life is not the greatest so I just ordered a 1500 mAh battery for it. I'll let you guys know if it is any better. BTW, the HD7 comes with a 1230 mHa battery (thanks HTC for going cheap here :-| )
Also, the Evo 4G which is almost the exact same hw device comes with a 1500 mHa out of the box.

rfleites, did you get the battery?

Yeah I'd love to get feedback on the battery too.
I'm sure this is the one we're all talking about:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1500mAh-Replace...338942?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f04e9503e

I've heard those batteries on ebay are fakes. There's a thread on the General HD7 forum.
I have just had an email from these people saying they will be announcing an extended battery tomorrow:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/
They look legit.

1300mAh extended battery with existing back cover:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/htc/mugen-power-1300mah-extended-battery-for-htc-hd7-t-mobile-9292.html
3900mAh one with a new back cover (no picture yet):
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/htc/mugen-power-3900mah-extended-battery-for-htc-hd7-t-mobile-9292.html

holy sh*t 3900mAh?? really? wow if they work...!!

I'm sure it works. The qustion is do you want a great big lump sticking out the back of your phone?

Hey guys I ordered the battery but now I need a case that is compatible with this 3900 mah battery.

They provide you the battery cover It comes with the battery itself

As mentioned above the big battery sticks out the back of your phone in a great big lump (they have a picture on their site now). It will also add a lot to the weight. HTC would never release a phone like this.
Why they didn't make the HD7 just a tiny bit thicker and heavier to squeeze a 1500mAh battery in is another question though.

I am not talking about the battery cover. I am talking about a case. A leather case or any other thing i can protect my phone with so if it drops or anything i dont want any scratches etc.

Im not so bothered for the 3900 especially with the size of the thing!
But is there a 1500mAh replacement battery that wont need a new battery cover and that wont change the original design form factor of my HD7?

Battery From Mugen For HD2 COMING END OF MARCH

Hello,
Mugen Power is currently working on making an extended battery for HTC HD2 phone. The battery should be available on the market at the end of March.
We still do not know but it should be at least 80% more capacity than the original battery. The capacity of the original battery is 1230mAh so the extended battery should be around 2000mAh.
Thank you,
Michael
MugenBattery.com
will it fit with the original battery cover on? not the fat one?
I will definitely get it if it is of the same size as the original battery.
+1 on that. Mugen batteries are supposed to be the same quality as oem right?
Subscribing to this thread now!
If it is the same size, it is a must have item for me, and it will crush sales of the hump-backed whale battery that HTC has created.

I truly doubt that an 80% increase in battery power will be the same size as it's traditionally required an extended back cover. Not a fan of that as I appreciate the HD2's slick feel. But if battery technology has changed in that it all of a sudden can fit, then that would be called progress....
Come out with a legit 1500mah battery, michael. HTC is already doing ~2200-2400mah battery and the consensus would be that any altercation to the overall slenderness of the phone would ruin its uniqueness, so why is Mugen insisting on making one with a fatty backplate?
If you guys are making 1500mah standard size battery, I can guarantee you that I'll buy 5 of them.

I agree, it has to be the same size for me...I could have brought the offical extended battery by now but its just to ugly.
a standard-size 1300mAh from Mugen is already available: the 2000 mAh does probably have a replacement back cover
+1 on the same size deal... if I wanted to buy a bulky unwieldy phone I would go back to the 80's... if there is a good well made higher capacity (=more time) then I would def buy it...

2000mah battery is not going to be the same size as the standard battery lol. Had a few Mugen batteries for previous devices, will not be buying any more from them. The life expentancy of their batteries has never been good and the extra mah they managed to add to the standard size really didn't translate into any extra battery life at all.

extended battery 2400 maH on ebay.com

saw it today morning on ebay, price about 18 usd w/o shipping costs (about 2 usd). i think to order that one, coz original htc 2300 mah still not available to ship and mugen 2600 mah is more expensive (64 usd w/o shipping costs).

i think leo with this battery is about 17mm (with stock battery - 11mm).
the phone would get so bulky that it's scary
Anyway, considering they are including a 2400mAh battery and a custom back metal cover (admitting it's metal and not some kind of plastic) for 20USD total, I'd love to see a proportionally priced spare vanilla metal back cover, which would be less than half, everything considered. Alas, all metal back covers I've seen are way more expensive than that.
so yay or nay? bulk isn't going to be too much of an issue. I wouldn't mind swapping depending on what I needed... be even better to have a dock that will charge the hd2 with the extended battery on, and have the original "spare" charging on the back.
Cover looks like plastic to me.

Yup, it's true.. I now have 3 batteries (1500, 1600 and original) and they're all basically the same. Dirt cheap replacements though which is good on it's own
Just hate the thick back of the extended version, the thin-ness of the HD2 makes it pocketable regardless the size. Wonder if that still will be the case with the extended battery.

I also bought Cameron Sino 2400mAH HD2 extended battery from ebay. Actually the capacity is almost double the standard 1300mAH battery but there is a trick! After the battery goes flat and auto off you need to take out the battery for a while and fix it back. Restart, then the battery meter will display 50% battery level and it can continue for normal 50% usage!!
I am still puzzling why this thing happen and hope anybody have solution to this. Thanks!
Seem this issue still don't have any solution. No choice! I try to get help from Cameron Sino (manufacturer for HD2 2400mAH extended battery) to see whether they have solution on this issue. Below the write up:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Sir,
I am recently purchased a Cameron Sino HD2 2400mAH extended battery from eBay. The battery is well build and the cover also well fitted onto my HD2. The problem I face is the battery is having compatibility issue that I need to do extra step to utilize full power of the Cameron Sino extended battery. Below the issue:
•The battery can be full charge and the HD2 is showing 100% battery level after full charge.
•To my surprise, the battery power draining rate seem not much different from standard non extended 1300mAH battery that it not justify for the extra thick battery and cover
•When it goes down less than 10% or zero power, I try to switch off the HP, remove the battery from battery bay for a few second then fix back, power on back the phone. The HD2 battery meter now indicate 50% battery power remaining and it can be continue use until goes to zero.
I would say this kind of issue is compatibility issue that it shouldn’t behave this way, It is very troublesome to off-power, remove back cover, remove battery, fix back battery, fix back cover, power on again to gain back another 50% battery power. It should be slowly drain down power (after full charge) with much slower drain down rate and goes completely zero as what normal Li-Ion battery behave.
Pls look into this issue seriously as I already feedback to xda developer forum on this issue that a lot of potential buyer will reluctant to purchase this 2400mAH extended battery because of this issue. I hope you can provide a battery driver solution and I should try to install. I will update to the forum when this issue is fixed, else the issue will remain open and it definitely will discourage people to buy this battery due to this issue.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope Cameron Sino will provide solution to this issue and I should update once I gotten the reply. Stay tune!

nice! might buy one of these. not sure if i want my sleek phone turning into an obese amoeba though. for 12 bucks shipped I can get another OEM battery. I think i might rather have two spare OEM batteries in my glovebox...

For all those wondering, I got one of these batteries. It is slightly larger then the HTC 2150 extended battery and slightly smaller then the Seidio 3500 battery. You can use the HTC extended cover but there will be a small gap around the sides. With the backing that comes with the battery, it makes the whole thing feel very big. The max thickness is really the same as the HTC extended case, but it is big all over instead of just over the battery.
In addition to the case being clunky, I really did not see any benefit to this battery. Even though it says 3500, it gets less life then the 2150. If you want a lot of life out of your phone, go with the 3500 battery from Seidio. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. No matter which of these three batteries you get, they are all going to add the same amount of thickness which is approximately doubling the size and weight of your phone.
If you want to increase the life of your phone and not increase the size, Seidio also makes a 1800 battery that is good. I am using the one I had from my Eris.
i got this Acase 3500 mah battery a few weeks ago, it's great! bump charging vastly improves its battery life also. usually it lasts me about more than 24 hours
I got it late last week, and have been running it for a while. Battery life is a LITTLE better than the 1750 Sedio I had in it before. Not enough to justify the huge size, though. I can make it all day on my 1750, anyway.
Wow. Kind of disappointed after hearing all this that I bought it. Mine is supposed to come on the 22nd so I'll post back with results. Hopefully for my experience, I get better life out of it than stock.
I sent the Acase back and picked up two of the OEM 1800 evo batteries, they fit the dinc fine.
Do those OEM 1800 Evo batteries do much better than the OEM DINC battery? You can get 2 of the Evo 1800 batteries for $40 on Amazon.

3500mAh for Defy

DealExtreme now have a 3500 mAh battery with cover Link
However I don't think it's 3500 mAh and the quality is probably low and it wont be water resitance because it miss the extra internal cover for the battery.
there is such topic already, and this battery is the same, that already more than month selling on ebay
It's thicker than stock. I have ordered one similar to that as well. Just waiting on it to arrive. There is another topic here that is already about extended batteries for the defy. Your link does include the rear battery cover. However, I would not try and dip that in water unless you put some kind of waterproofing on the replacement back cover. Getting better battery life for cheap does have its disadvantages as well. Unless some company makes one that retains water resistance with a large battery and replacement back cover.

This is really interesting! I want one too but if any of you were to buy it, i would be cautious since dealxtreme is known for having cheap chinese made products, theres an american company i found online that sells this battery: http://www.wirelessground.com/motorola-defy-extended-high-capacity-battery.html just sayin
Another dealextreme 3500mAh
Now there's also this one:
dealextreme.com/p/3500mah-rechargeable-extended-battery-pack-cover-for-motorola-mb525-73564 - 3500mAh Rechargeable Extended Battery Pack + Cover for Motorola MB525
In addition to the previous

Both back cases have no waterproofing. As (remaining) capacity is probably more related to age of the battery than to price; I would pick the newer white one. Anyway, you only loose $11 instead of ~$30 for the ebay options.

I now only buy the Anker(sp?) batteries on ebay....they are cheap, and the only ones that appear to hold a full charge
many of the cheap 1900's I have bought are only like 900-1200
every Anker battery we have appears to be true capacity as listed
I got my 3500mAH battery finally. I can say that it adds bulk and weight. It also adds at the minimum twice the battery life. I would say I think it really is closer to three times as long. Yes it has a hump but is very comfortable to hold. With the new battery it is more like it should have been from the start with the original battery. You should not have any problems making it through a day of heavy use or two days light to normal use. This battery also takes along time to charge. I am very happy with the performance. Though I would still like to find a case the would fit the phone with this new hump on it. Lol
I would also like to find a case to fit the extended battery back. I just got this phone and the battery life is horrible even when compared to my HTC Inspire. I want to order the 3500mAH battery and extended back, but I also don't want my phone to be naked either. It's a toss up.
Darn I'm so tempted to buy the 3500 mah battery but I can't afford for it to blow up on me.. IF it does.... I traded my samsung infuse for this so I have no way in returning it. ):
Hopefully there's more people testing these batteries out so I can get one in a couple months.
Seido batteries are great!
I ordered this one: 1980mah Andida Spare Battery for LG Optimus 3D
I will test it out and report back my results to the forum.
Day 2 of using the aftermarket battery; So far so good. Took longer to charge than the stock battery, but that's on par with having a higher rated mAh.
I've been using the 3500mah extended battery since September 20th. So far, so good! Im getting double battery life and my phone hasn't exploded yet... lol... it does add some considerable bulk to the phone because of the custom backing that's required, but I personally think its worth it.
