[2.2]Removing proximity sensor - Wildfire Android Development

Display shutting off while making a call?
Can't find "end call" button without the display?
Push this file and disable proximity sensor.
Code:
./adb pull /system/lib/hw/sensors.buzz.so
./adb push sensors.buzz.so~ /system/lib/hw/sensors.buzz.so
Note : Apps that use proximity sensor won't work.
Kudos to nrvate from HTC Aria General forum for providing this info.

is dialing without touch screen possible?

Hi,
are there any applications or tweaks to make the phone screen buttons selectable with the hardware cursor buttons and the centre button to press them?
At the moment speed dial menu comes up which is ok but I would prefer to press phone and cursor around the screen selecting the numbers then press phone again to make the call.
I want to be able to dial a number without opening my hard case.
Thanks.
Ian
What about voice command? If you don't have all the buttons accessible in your case you can re-map one.
Phone manual dialing
anyone else had any joy on this?
I tried SPC phone suite and Shell both of which improve general one hand usability but not for dialing.
SPB Shell has a contact search screen with cursor key driven use of phone pad buttons but bot for the dialer of the phone - I asked them to look into it.
Voice command - any trial version available?
I love Voice Command, worthy the $. There is no need to train the app, it recognizes all of your contacts immediately.

Double tap to wake?

Hi
P9 plus has Double tap to wake feature ?
no
no, there isn't double tap to wake the screen.
Disappointed !
huawei should pay attention to this feature.
I dont have to rise up the mobile each minute if its on table to use back fingerprint sensor access
u can just push powerbutton on the side.
Even in double tap to wake you have to go through the password/finger print.
You can install "Glance Plus" on playstore for always on feature.
this is why i think LG's knock code is genius -- it's an alternative to the traditional PIN lock or pattern lock, and it's great for when the phone is lying on a table (meaning fingerprint sensor is inaccessible). Tap code lets you unlock phone with a sequence of taps anywhere on the screen, and because you begin tapping with screen off, and you don't really have to look at the screen when you tap, etc, I find that tap code lets me unlock a full second or more than unlocking with PIN.
of course, for phones with fingerprint sensor on the front, this wouldn't be necessary, but i wish all phones with rear fingerprint sensor would steal this feature.
Probably copy right issues involved in getting lg style unclock.
I tried the "KnockOn" app on google play. Working fine so far, although ofcourse will have to still go through the password screen. Have to enable all permissions and also allow app from accessibility settings.
You can make the autolock for 5 or 10 min so you don't need to unlock it with password in this period of time just double tape .
Get the point !
Question: is it true that "knuckle gestures" work when the screen is off, too?
This feature could well overtake the double tap deal in my humble opinion.

Broadlink RM plugin

Hi,
Any one familiar with the Broadlink rm plugin?
I have RM mini 3 and I want to change the TV to specific volume value. How do I do it?

Click to collapse
Won't work. There is noch Code for a specific value.
You could be a bit creative though... I'm just working through my setup so don't have all the answers, but you could trigger a macro to press the volume up button twice for instance and have Alexa use IFFT or Tasker or something to respond to that utterance? E.g. "Alexa, trigger turning my volume up 2" could trigger a macro to press volume up twice.
Or, what about a macro for each volume level (if you have the time) that presses volume down x number of times and then volume up once it is at 0?
Possibly square pegs, round holes, but there may be something you're willing to work with!
Hi guys, do you think is possible to create a widget for the rm plugin that displays the broadlink A1 sensor information on home screen?
Thanks.
There is no easy way, but you can do it if you use Tasker, you can have Tasker to remember the volume value, let's say if it is currently 10, then when you trigger to set volume to 15, RM plugin will send the vol up code and repeat 5 times. The math will be done from within Tasker.

Before I buy does the P10

have a raise to wake or double tap to wake feature? How about Google smart lock by location? Thanks for any help
There is no double tap to wake but you didn't need is.
The fingerprint sensor is fast then you ever can double tap.
On the P10 google can't unlock the phone. It is not possible to give google all right they needed for that.
yes I think your right, will the device wake just by laying your finger on it or is there a push needed like an iPhone. Thanks again
No push needed just a light touch.

adb shell overscan exception?

I'm using the xda gestures on my note 8 and because it uses the adb overscan in order to not use the navbar, it cuts off the edge lighting on the bottom of the screen. So my question is, is there a way to have an exception from the overscan for the edge lighting through adb in order to not cut off the bottom of the edge lighting? Thanks for your help
